Atlantic City Bars & Restaurants For When You're Not Trying To Party Party - Atlantic City - The Infatuation

"Before hordes of partiers pounding vodka Red Bulls take over the bars of Atlantic City, enjoy a cocktail and the view from the 23rd floor of The Claridge at VÜE. Sip on a Garden State Spritz made with blueberry liqueur and catch the sunset during a pre-dinner round of drinks or count the lit-up spokes of the ferris wheel over at Steel Pier when it gets dark. If the weather's nice, you can even hang out on the outdoor deck for a breath of fresh air and ocean breeze. There will likely be a good number of people here on the weekend, but it won’t be as rowdy as some of the other bars at ground level." - anne cruz

Google
The place is very nice. The staff are awesome. They are very friendly, engaging and down to earth. I would recommend this location. I orderd long island ice tea, BBQ wings, chicken quesadilla and loaded nachos. Happy hour is from 4pm-7pm. Thursday is karaoke at 7pm and Friday night is old school night.

Google
Very good experience! We came for happy hour. The house drink was a cranberry vodka and it was good! I had the green shot and it was refreshing. The views are beautiful. The only negative is that there were a couple customers on the rooftop smoking and spitting which was pretty nasty.

J E.

Google
One of the best views on the strip, excellent food, and great prices. Alex, the bartender killing it with top notch service on top of that. I recommend the wings.

Rudy

Google
GREAT! GREAT! Jerry is an awesome bartender and a pleasure to talk with...staff is helpful and friendly. The hotel has a nostalgic feel with a spooky-ish trill. If you or your party is staying at Caesars, you can walk through Bally's and get there. The food is great, Honey Sriracha chicken wings are the go to. We visited in the late afternoon. We will be going back for sure

Google
Went for happy hour. It’s a good idea to get there early. Then again it was raining that day so we weren’t able to go outside and enjoy the view. The wings was really good. Think I had some kind of Korean style sauce and it was so good. The nachos was also good. Drinks are reasonable and our bartender was nice. I ordered a martini by accident instead of a cosmo, which is what I wanted. I tried to drink it but couldn’t, was too strong for me. He saw I was not enjoying it and asked me about it. I told him I meant to order a cosmo instead and he changed it out for me no problem. Overall I would recommend here for anyone in the area to visit for happy hour.

Google
Probably much cooler on a nice day when you go outside. Food and drinks were okay. Service was outstanding. Loved the history of the building, hopefully they will continue to restore it to its Guilded Age glory.

Google
Best kept secret in AC! Happy hour is a great deal and the view is awesome. Brian, the bartender is a true professional and serves up a mean Old Fashion! Nacho's were a nice snack. I can't wait to go back!

Jennifer E.

Google
The bartender is friendly and personable, that’s where the end of my positivity for the VUE ends. Food, TERRIBLE. The chicken sandwich was inedible. They Caesar salad was fine but how can anyone mess it up. The view of AC is nice but didn’t make it worth it to go to this place. I’m shocked that the rating is over 4 stars for this place - it MUST be from pre-pandemic experiences. My advice, skip it.

Yelp
The bartender are very friendly esp Jerry! The drinks don't taste watered down. The ambience is pretty chill but the views from outside at night are beautiful! This is a hidden gem! They had a DJ on Sat night that left at 1230a but I think the Dj should stay til at least 130 since they close at 2.

Yelp
Very friendly service from Brian , the only bartender working that day. He took our order right away and recommended some drinks. Made special strawberry lemonade for the kids and poured some nice cold beer for the adults. Happy hour food was very decent and we enjoyed every single thing on that menu. I just wished a big storm wouldn't stopped us to go outside and enjoy the view. Maybe next time.

Yelp
Went to the Vue for drinks and the view. You can beat the view for Atlantic City!! Staff was very friendly and offered different drinks. We would love to be there when events are happening at the Vue. It would be a lot of fun! Would highly recommend

Yelp
Tried this place out on a snowy evening in January. They have a happy hour from 4-6:30 on weeknights, which is a pretty good deal. Fairly small inside but I assume there is quite a bit of space outside when the weather is nice. Attentive bartender and staff. Small tap list but still found a couple that we liked. Food was average bar food at best. Giving this place 4 stars because I think outside with nice weather and a view this will be a very nice place. Cheers!

Yelp
This hotel and bar are outdated. The first floor of this hotel smells gross, but they try to cover it with cleaning products. The elevator is scary because it shakes and makes loud sounds. Don't press the M button on the elevator...this level is definitely haunted. The bar itself isn't too bad, but the wine glasses weren't clean. Their house Pinot noir was undrinkable. I didn't even finish my one glass. The bartender was nice and he is the only reason I gave this place 2 stars. The music inside was decent, but outside they were blasting some very grim news stories. Outside was pretty windy and the view was nice, but they put up these plastic shields over the fence. The view isn't as nice with the shields, especially since I'm too short to look over. We didn't try their food and I have no desire to. The place doesn't smell like food and there were fruit flies everywhere. Overall, I won't be coming back.

Veronica S.

Yelp
Beautiful place. The bar tender, the drinks and the view were all awesome. I would definitely recommend and will visit next time I'm in Atlantic City

Chris O.

Yelp
Zero attentiveness. Bartender said to me n my wife I will get to u when I can n then laughed. Pathetic service don't bother coming here

Yelp
Sunday night...tried to order daiquiris. The server didn't know if they were strawberry or banana. Said it was a mix of both. They weren't. Then, we ordered margaritas. The server asked what kind of tequila we wanted in them. We asked what they had. We really just wanted house margs. She said Patron and Casamigos. I knew that would be expensive, so I asked what else. She said she didn't know what else and then asked what we wanted. I said, a house marg. She then said she needed to know what tequila we wanted but couldn't tell us what other tequilas other than the most expensive, which are shit tequila, they had. So we just took patron. Then, we ordered food. Our food arrived, we had no water on the table or napkins. When we had 2 wings left, which by the way are not award winning wings in my opinion, our margs came. They literally took a half hour to get to the table. I'm writing this poor review, because A. The service was awful. And B. The wings were mediocre. And C. I'm tired of shitty service and mediocre food that costs as much as it does in a town where servers should give a f&$k cause ppl have money to throw around. Have some friggin pride and earn your tip. That's what I would do

Yelp
This place was a welcome reprieve from the rest of the hotel. Nice enough decor.. a little run down in some areas... simple enough roof top with some tables and chairs, but the view was gorgeous! Thank God it was an absolutely beautiful day! At first, I was a little put off by the lack of service.. it seemed as though everyone was getting served but us.... but, I'm glad that we didn't leave as we almost chose to. We ordered the blueberry margaritas, honey wings, and cheesesteak eggrolls... all of which were delicious. Naketah, girl, you make a wonderful cocktail! And I could've eaten a whole additional serving of the eggrolls. My husband though the wings were just average. Nonetheless, Naketah was very pleasant and she is definitely an added value to the establishment. Will return, if I ever make it back to the Claridge.. or maybe I'll just head right up to the bar. ;-)

Yelp
Vue Bar on the rooftop of The Claridge Hotel is a blast! What's makes it fun is the bartenders. They know you are in AC to get a little inebriated & let loose! They are right onboard with you! They all have a specialty drink named after them & they are excellent. I highly recommend Jerry's pomegranate margarita!

Yelp
Well im not surprised why the place its empty ! Wrong menu! They have a very limited menu Not so appealing! We order an appetizer waited about 30min ! Not worth the price or the time we waited ! The bartender was xtremely gracious good drinks great talk other thsn that ! Not impressed

Yelp
How is this not the most popular bar in AC? I'd have to assume it's called Vue because of the phenomenal views of the ocean, Steel Pier, other casinos and westwards toward the sunset. The bar is inside and the bartenders are a fantastic reason to keep you there. They are friendly and talented. Special shoutout to Jerry for his hospitality and to-die-for mango martini. The cocktail menu itself will make you want to go down the line and try them all. There are TVs at the bar where the Phillies and preseason football was playing during my visit. The music was a little old school with some late 2000 favs. Once we made it outside, I did regret not getting out there sooner. The views are spectacular and there's a full rooftop complete with VIP tables, hammocks, regular tables and bar seats. While they easily could've charged a cover and disgusting amount per cocktail (please don't!), the handcrafted cocktails were reasonably priced. While the food menu isn't large, they have a handful of appetizers. They even have a 3 appetizer and bottle of wine special for $29! At least early on a Saturday evening, it was so much more of a chill scene, especially compared to the beach bars. Vue guests, please don't trash it up. Vue management, please keep it chill and reasonably priced.

Yelp
My girlfriends and I came to the Vue on a Saturday night during our vacation in Atlantic City. The Vue is a rooftop bar located in the Claridge Hotel. First, the bar is almost impossible to arrive at because it's located on the 23rd floor and the elevators take forever to come down. We waited for ~15 mins until we went up the elevator which only arrived at the 21st floor. The elevators were super packed with people who don't care or don't respect social distancing. We then had to go out in the hall on the 21st floor and locate a different elevator that would take us to the 23rd floor. We waited for another 10 mins. There was a group of people waiting with us for the elevator to the Vue. Many were not wearing masks and people frequently used the F word. During our trip up to the Vue I was able to notice that The Claridge hotel is a very run down place, with stained carpet and poorly lit halls, as well as rude patrons that circulate on the floors. When we got to the rooftop at last, it was completely empty. We had a few drinks both outside and inside. The staff was friendly and hospitable, but not very professional. One bartender (Peruvian girl) was excellent when making drinks, but overall there was some major disorganization behind the bar. One moment it was one bartender, the next moment it was another. They seemed not to know who had taken which order. The drinks were just alright and SO expensive. We also had the burger sliders and mahi mahi tacos and I thought the food was ok, but very average. I was in shock with the price when I saw my tab. As the night progressed and people arrived they began to speak louder and louder and the bartenders became more disorganized. There was gleeful shouting as bartenders and patrons exchanged words. More people arrived and we decided to leave the frenzy behind. It was really a strange experience. I'm not sure if I'll be back at the Vue.

Yelp
Convenient spot in the hotel when you want to stay indoors. Great rooftop seating to relax and enjoy your drink and food. I didn't try the food but the lady next to me, her wings looked good. The bartender was friendly had great tips for drinks!

Yelp
For my mother's mini birthday getaway, I knew that the Vue bar would be the perfect place to take her on our first day here. I've been to this bar 3 times prior to this day & my boyfriend and I loved it due to warming hospitality. Now, on 05/23/21 around 5pm perfect time for happy hour we arrived to an uninviting atmosphere. We received a hello from the bartender and asked to be seated at a table outside. Our "hostess/waitress", whatever she was because she didn't act as either one, said that we had to sit on the crowded side which I guess that's where she would be taking orders. We sat down waiting for a menu which we never received. Twenty minutes after sitting and waiting to be waited on, the waitress comes up to us looking upset like what do u guys want to drink basically rushing us and we're like where's the menu? Extreme attitude because we didn't know what we wanted to drink, she says she'll get us a menu and come back. This took another ten minutes in which we timed her. No eye contact she continuously waited on other tables and never brought us a menu. We were so pissed off and vowed to never come back. She looked at us and had nothing to say as we waited for the elevator not even an apology. She complained to her coworker about being aggravated because it's hot and busy which fairly didn't seem that busy to us. The attitude was TERRIBLE, you don't treat people as such even if you're having a bad day. To top things off, we never got her name. She was an African American mid aged woman who seemed unhappy with her job and it showed. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE & waste of time! Please hire humble & exciting people who can work well under pressure that won't make your business look bad.

Yelp
We love this rooftop bar. It always has a positive vibe and great drinks. But the main reason we are such fans is because of bartender Jerry. His personality is top notch and he brings the energy and enthusiasm to all around him.

Yelp
Wouldn't give this place a star if it wasn't for the view, but the view definitely boosts the star total! Incredible views that showcase Atlantic City and the Atlantic Ocean, really recommend checking it out to catch probably one of the greatest views in town! Besides that, waited 20 minutes at a table I was told to sit at without seeing anyone come out to take an order. And then when the server did come out to help other tables, I tried to get her attention a couple of times to no avail. Never got food or a drink, wasn't never even spoken to again after getting sat. Still stayed for almost an hour though, because really- awesome views! Shame, I was really looking forward to having a great spot with great views to grab a drink right in the hotel I've been staying at this week.

Nicole S.

Yelp
I had such a great night at the vue! Food was delicious but it was really the vibe from the employees that made my night so spectacular. Specifically, Jerry, one of the bartenders, he was just fabulous. So welcoming and funny. I've come to this bar before but last night was my first time meeting Jerry and he was so amazing. 10/10 recommend!

Yelp
Came here August 2020, so everyone is adjusting to new rules because of covid. Our server (Brian?) was really great! The restaurant was outdoors only when we visited, which is on the rooftop overlooking the ocean. We were the first customers and came in as soon as they opened. We ordered the honey siracha wings, which were so delicious we had to order another round of wings. We also had mimosas and bloody Mary's both of which were super boozy and refreshing. The orange juice had pulp and tasted really natural, not like the watered down cheap orange juice you get at some places. The bloody Mary was delicious and a nice spice. We did have another appetizer which we actually didn't like but I don't even remember what it was, some type of spring roll, I don't know. The wings, drinks and service were so great we would definitely return if in the area.

Yelp
A really beautiful hidden bar in AC. We walked in around 430 and it was happy hour, bonus!! The bar is so pretty and it's sits on the rooftop of the Claridge hotel. We took our drinks outside and had a beautiful view of the beach, the boardwalk and Bally's casino, so pretty!!! It was nice and breezy and just relaxing! A terrific place to have a date or bring the family.

Yelp
This Rooftop Bar has the Best view of the Ocean and Perfect for watching the Sunset. The bartenders are friendly but the DJ on Saturday night had to go.

Kaelyn D.

Yelp
We chose to come here for my friend's birthday drinks and dinner, which was a huge mistake. We made a reservation for the rooftop and when we got there, there was no table set up--there were not even tables large enough to accommodate a party of 8. Still, we decided to drag some of the scattered outdoor seating together ourselves. For the quality we received, everything was extremely overpriced. The mojitos didn't even have mint. My meal did not show up until an hour+ after my friends had finished their meals entirely (even though we were one of the only groups in the entire place and it was a simple turkey cheese sandwich. This is after I already had to change my order since they ran out of what I initially ordered, which even that took a half hour to communicate that to me). We asked to speak with a manager and multiple times were told that there wasn't one. At this point I decided to ask for a to-go box. When the sandwich finally did arrive, the toast was burnt and everything was slapped on messily, and it was sideways in the box. The place is completely disorganized and unpleasant. Waitress was nice, but everyone else extremely unprofessional. None of us will be returning.

Yelp
What an awesome find ! Discovered the existence of Vue by accident as we were staying next door at Bally's. Incredible rooftop location with outside seating and observation deck. The bartenders were awesome ! Went twice : Happy Hour and then a different night until closing time . 2 different pairs of bartenders and all were great. I wish I could remember the one bartenders name - an African American gentleman who there until closing. He was a true pro. One of the best bartenders I ever encountered . Customers were even taking pics with him ! The only drawback I could find was their menu prices - they serve basically appetizers only - were on the high side . But no one is forcing you to eat there. Drinks were SLIGHTLY elevated compared to local surroundings but it is worth it for the grown up atmosphere and the banter with the bartenders I was told there are open year round which is great. We will be back for sure !

Yelp
Here is the view from the Vüe. An excellent place to enjoy a meal and enjoy the beauty of Atlantic City. The staff are always pleasant and genuinely nice, the drinks great and the food amazing! I have and do still recommend this as a great gathering place; even if gathering means 6 feet apart.
google avatar

Yelp
Found This Out Of Nowhere And Had To Check It Out. The View Was Amazing From Rooftop And The Drink I Had Was Delicious! Coming Back Here Soon As It's Nice Out Again!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went to Atlantic City for my 40th birthday this weekend. We were staying at the Claridge and this bar, and the staff who works there, MADE our trip!! The views from the roof were beautiful, of course. However, the staff (notably Gerry and Tony) made our weekend beyond special and gave us a great experience every night. Great drinks, professional (and SUPER friendly) service made this our go to place every night we were there. 5 stars isn't enough for these guys!
google avatar

Rey W.

Yelp
Cool spot located in the hotel..excellent service & staff...the food was good I had the grilled chicken sandwich & cocktail shrimp which was ..very cool spot

Nancy M.

Yelp
We order food around 730pm never got food until 830. They keep bringing wrong food to our table. They don't have a drink menu. Out of IPA beer. Waitress didn't even know what IPA was. Ask for Moscow mule waitress came back said they have no ginger beer. Manger was no help. Ask to be valet parking and she said she couldn't do that. So she took 20% off the one bill that was still open. I will not be returning to this business ever again. It's sad because it could be a great place to enjoy outside dining.

Yelena R.

Yelp
Went to Vue for dinner. Service was great, pleasant and very positive. Food was very good. The only lacking is somewhat of ambiance. The place could be more cozy and accept more people. It would also be great if there was a rooftop view option without having to be outside due to wind which can be really strong.
google avatar

Anita N.

Yelp
The bar on the top floor was horrible.. food was overpriced and not good. I got the sliders and they were super burnt..I told the bartender that I wanted to order something else and he got an attitude telling me "well you wanted it well done"... sir well done does not equal burnt. I got the quesadilla and it was bland and tasteless. I ordered a lucky juice.. the drink was over priced and poorly mixed. Not worth it at all. Also there was only one bartendar and no servers... it was pretty busy and they needed more staff.
google avatar

Yelp
This past weekend my future brother-in-law hosted a family event at The Vue Bar (he asked my sister to marry him...she said "yes"!). Everything about the Vue was fantastic! The staff were quite simply great; attentive, professional and very friendly. The food was amazing. The atmosphere (the view!) can't be beat. Parking was easy and the prices were reasonable. Thanks to The Vue, an already wonderful occasion was made even better!
google avatar

Vishal P.

Yelp
Came here for a rooftop brunch. It was a nice view and the service was friendly but the food was lacking. All you can eat buffet style brunch with some pastries out on a platter but food was mediocre.

Dennis L.

Yelp
great little spot in the roof.drinks not outrageous and staff are very friendly .i didn't try the food so can't comment on that but as for the bar it's great.
google avatar

Mary-Kate S.

Yelp
As someone who uses Yelp a lot, this place is not 4.5 stars... extremely overpriced and not flavorful. I paid $14 for mini spring rolls. Look at my picture to see for yourself what it looked like. The spring rolls were supposed to come with chipotle sauce... it was ketchup and tobacco sauce...and the bar tender rolled her eyes when I asked for a strawberry margarita on the rocks. This place is overlooking the beach and showcases all their tequilas so you tell me why that was a difficult order...
google avatar

Bonnie C.

Yelp
My fiancé and I came here for his birthday and we both agreed that the portions were very small - we ordered the steak cheese spring rolls (which were absolutely tiny!!) and the bbq chicken sliders (which were also very small too). Everything tasted good but it wasn't worth my money.
google avatar

Joe G.

Yelp
Cool place to take a break from the boardwalk. I've been hearing a lot about this rooftop bar and finally made it to the claridge to check it out. Arrived around 2pm and there was only a handful of people. Nice long bar with inside/ outside area, great views.

April H.

Yelp
Cant say enough about the Vue. Indoor/outdoor seating. Bartender Brian friendly and professional. I had the burger which came out quick and tasted perfect. Brian brought out extra water without asking. Nice touch.

Vi T.

Yelp
Had a TERRIBLE experience here during the day time. The night time experience almost made up for it. 3/4 of us ordered the fried chicken sandwich. I ordered the burger. 1/3 chicken sandwiches was raw inside. When I recieved my burger I just got a patty on a bun and nothing else even though the menu says it comes with lettuce, tomato and red onions. We relayed these problems to our server and they were fixed. HOWEVER, given that my friend recieved a meal that was undercooked, I would expect that meal to not show up on our bill at the end- it did. On top of that, our drinks arrived about 40 minutes late, if not later, which didnt make any sense given that it was the middle of a day in early June and they were hardly busy. They also mixed up our drink order and the bartender gave my friend a little attitude when she asked for some ketchup. We asked if there was any management we could speak to about our unpleasant experience and they said they didnt have a manager. Given that we were unhappy with the service provided by the bartender and the kitchen staff, we thought maybe they would take a meal or the drinks off of our bill-they didnt. The only reason I gave them an extra star is because of the night time bartenders.
google avatar

Alex W.

Yelp
Bartenders are extremely rude and don't acknowledge anyone under the age of 25 apparently. Waited over 20 minutes at the bar to place my order. The bartender only came over to me because two older men at the bar had to get his attention when he wouldn't even look in my direction. He was then rude when asked if he could take my order. The quality of the food is absolutely terrible as well. Don't waste your time or money here.
google avatar

Jonathan R.

Yelp
Very nice bartenders , and very interesting crowd, it seems like everyone that comes here is roughly in their 40s and up it's not a essentially younger and so on and so forth . Not bad place to just grab a quick drink to kill time , very modest and relaxed atmosphere.
google avatar

Meg T.

Yelp
Hidden gem. Rooftop bar right on the beach. Great view and comfy seats. Our bartender, Danny, was superb. Super friendly and had a lot of great tips for the area. I will definitely be back. Great happy hour, too.

Yelp
Phenomenal view!! Friendly bartenders, good happy hour. Didn't try the food, but the choices sounded nice

Yelp
Have been coming to AC for years from northern NJ and never came to the Claridge. Heard about the Vue this trip while here with my 92 year old grandfather. He got so excited because he used to stay here 40+ years ago so we came. Our bartender Danny Ballard went above and beyond. Made sure my grandfather was happy, he even got to take a tour of the hotel with Greg, and served and handled our obnoxious party of 9 amazing. Would 100% come back again due to this experience. The beautiful views are an add bonus compared to the service. Thanks Danny and Greg!

Yelp
The reason why I gave a three star is because the guy's had great customer service towards me and my wife. However, it seems as if the ladies are prejudice against us the would never acknowledged our presence. One of the lady actually war right by us to ask a gentleman that was sitting behind us but never acknowledged us as we sit there for around 15 minutes that's when me and my wife decided to leave. This happened on May 3, 2017 around 7pm.

Yelp
This rooftop is a hidden gem in Atlantic City! The bartender Brook is amazing. He makes awesome cocktails and puts alotta love in the making of his drinks! They also have an amazing happy hour special that was 3 apps and a bottle of wine for $30 and a DJ on a Tuesday night!! What more could you ask for? I'll be here every Tuesday.
google avatar

Ron K.

Yelp
This is a little secret not too many people know about. It's got the best views in the city (hence the name), the drinks are reasonable and very good, and the happy hour is fantastic. I've only ordered apps at the bar, and they were good. It is my go to bar when in Atlantic City.

Shubham P.

Yelp
Drinks and staff are nice, food is absolutely awful and not worth the money. Cheese on the nachos is the same cheap goopy cheese you get at a baseball stadium. 6 pieces of shrimp for $14! Just get the drinks

Gary D.

Yelp
Just met food & beverage manager, very friendly & trying to make this a great venue in AC; off to a great start! Best secret in AC for now.....

Yelp
Had a wedding after party here last night and the atmosphere and bartenders were great, especially Jerry. He had a smile on his face all night, very quick service and high energy. The Vue was an overall welcoming environment and we will be back next time we're in town!
