Google
This place is amazeballs. Came here to meet a friend for breakfast as they were intially craving some waffles and chicken. They ended up getting a hamburger with the works, and I got what ever picture I pointed at on the menu lol. It was a delicious experience over all from both our plates, and the service was super friendly and easy to engage with. We plan to visit here again in the future.

Google
the food was excellent! they needed 1 more person in the lobby. there were 2 groups of 4 ahead of us 2. it was busy yes. the guy who came up was impersonal. they have an outside eating area. sent the 4 who chose to sit outside with menus and sat the other 4..we got seated fast. our waitress was very friendly..food took a little long. but as I said worth it! Bathrooms disgusting!! Lobby floor disgusting.. it was still early..floors should not be that dirty!

Google
The best steak scramble on the planet. The steak was cooked perfect and diced big enough to enjoy a piece of everything in one bit if u are like me n like to savory all my food at once. steak, eggs, with bell peppers grilled to a medium char that cooked them just enough on the outside and still had a nice firm feel. The POTATOES OMG THE BEST AROUND TOWN. Not only are the a good size for country potatoes they were cooked to perfection. All the way through i mean soft but still crispy on the outside ! As for the waffles of course tasty but not like ur average fluffy pancake style but still delicious I prefer it. I suggest when u order this meal ask them to bring ur waffles out first or last after u eat ur main plate so they don't get cold. They would have been better hot im sure of it. I jumped on my steak and eggs what can I say I'm meater above all !!!! Definitely coming back to this location had the best waffle experience for sure the staff as so sweet and friendly. P.s. if u go please dont take the chalula! They had to replace them all. Pp have been taking them can u believe that!

Google
The praise the lard had a very tasty piece of pork belly and the fruit side was nice I think I should try s sweet or liege waffle next time. The herb waffle with my eggs benedict wasn't crunchy or chewy and I'd go with a standard English muffin next time

Ryan L.

Google
Definitely give this restaurant a shot. There are more options than just waffles too but you're missing out if not trying at least one of the waffle plates. Lots of options and there is a breakfast and lunch menu. There is indoor and outdoor seating as well. The parking lot isn't super big but usually you can find a spot. The restaurant is clean and well maintained but can get a little hard to hear if crowded. Overall, we had a great experience!

Google
Very good food, our waitress was very very nice, asked us for drinks, sat us down imminently, then once we looked ready she came over and asked what we would like. The atmosphere is very quiet which is good to talk. The food here was amazing. The Nutella waffle was a 10/10 I do recommend! Overall I rate this place a 5 star because the service was amazing as well as the food and atmosphere!

Marie T.

Google
This is such a great restaurant, from the servers to the food. I haven't had a perfectly made poached egg except here.... except for the exception of once, which they replaced without hassle (yes, I'm that picky about perfection of an eggs Benedict, which is why I say I love them). The sauce is always perfect, and everything is made so amazing and consistent. The pork belly is on point. Not to mention, the bloody Mary's come with so many sides, you MUST try them all (especially the pork belly) or the waffle BLT. I truly only thought it was a waffle place, so I never wanted to try it. It's not JUST a waffle experience. It's a breakfast experience. This is a hidden gem

Rondell S.

Google
I have to be honest with this review The food was on point 👍🏽 everything was cooked perfect and it was a decent portion thank u chef 💯 Service was mediocre the lady barely knew English They gave me soda from a can 😂 and they only had 3 choices The juice was in small glasses lol so for $4 it was a gulp lmao fr... The atmosphere was dry the TV wasn't on there was nothing to look at except an empty chalkboard and the music was playing that was ok and the floor wasn't sweped other than that my Waffle Experience could've been better and would I come back sure I would I'm curious to see how the other food tastes... Oh and the price was👌🏽they have it to if u pay cash it lowers your bill by a few bucks...

Yelp
First time eating here. Food was amazing, as well as the service. The place was small but it was cozy. Would come again and recommend to family and friends.

Yelp
We came here for Sunday brunch with a very large group of 20+ people and reserved the entire back patio. It was a warm day, but the staff was thoughtful enough to set up umbrellas, which made it much more comfortable. Our server did an amazing job taking all separate orders, which is no easy task with such a big group! The food was good and flavorful, though for the price, it wasn't quite the best we've had. Still, it was a nice experience overall, and the service definitely stood out. Would come back for the atmosphere and friendly staff!
google avatar

Juan R.

Yelp
The service is a huge issues. They seem to like to run lean with staff. They served my two sets of eggs that were inedible and the most undercooked eggs I have been served. Order accuracy was a problem as well. We had a difficult time politely flagging someone down to address our issues. The potatoes tasted of styrofoam and they have tried to hard to reinvent the waffle wheel. To the owner: I would recommend reducing the menu size, hiring more kitchen and wait staff. Your bottom line will thank you.

Yelp
Came early Sunday morning. Got seated. One server, a few tables. Not even that many to be considered busy or anything because server just standing around. Service was very slow. Food to get to the table was very slow. Server never checked up on us, had empty cups most of the time. Really basic inside. Food itself wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything amazing. I thought I was going to enjoy this place more but I wasn't impressed. Probably won't come back again.

Jaspreet S.

Yelp
Food was super cold when it came out. Asked for no tomatoes and had tomatoes all over the egg Benedict and when they took it back and brought back out it looked like someone threw up the food and put it back on the plate. Horrible

Yelp
Great service and delicious food. Our waitress was very helpful. Definitely coming back for that Bananarama waffle

Yelp
I came in on a Saturday around 10:30 AM to beat the brunch rush and ended up staying until closing. I ordered The Babe on a herb waffle, with a side salad and the bottomless guava-flavored mimosa. The herb waffle was delicious and complemented the sandwich beautifully. I asked for my patty medium rare, and it was cooked perfectly. The sandwich also included a layer of carnitas that was well-seasoned and hit the spot in terms of flavor and protein. The rest of my party ordered the Eggs Florentine, Classic Waffle Combo, The Lard, Carnitas Plate, and the Classic Combo--all of which were delicious. The kitchen did a great job cooking everything to order and handling special requests (like extra-extra crispy bacon) with care. Service was excellent, even with a small staff. I really appreciated the hostess, Janessa, who checked in on us and kept our water glasses filled. Our server, Kristina, was incredibly patient and thorough. She took the time to listen to each of our requests and made sure everyone felt comfortable asking for modifications. She reassured us that it was no trouble at all, and it really made a difference. Despite the weekend crowd, the staff stayed friendly, attentive, and composed. My only critique is that the establishment should consider hiring more help, especially on busy weekends. The current team worked hard and did a fantastic job, but they definitely could use some backup.

Yelp
What we had: Sausage and waffles California Benedict Chicken fried steak and eggs They were all yummy and a generous portion than I remember, nothing special in comparison to other brunch place. The gravy on the chicken fried steak had a nice texture (not too thick) and tasty This place has an indoor and outdoor space. We came in on a Saturday at 1130 and the crowd was already dying down and was seated right away. We were greeted and sat by a really sweet host with pink eye lashes. She had this spunk to her that was engaging. I would have just rated this place a 3 and the extra star is for her. Will definitely come again. Must support local!

Yelp
I cannot believe I have not written a review for here!! The Waffle Experience is near our home. We have had many different menu options from here over the years. Depending on your taste buds, their waffle can be on the sweet dessert side or more on the regular meal scale. We've enjoyed their salads, BLT sandwiches, fruits, pork belly, chicken fried steak and eggs, and much more!! The service has always been awesome!! The owner comes around from time to time. Matter of fact, I ran into him at Costco while shopping, he was very cheerful and said hello!! Overall, it has always been a nice treat for us!!
google avatar

Sherica G.

Yelp
Everybody loved their food! Mine was the angus burger, I ordered it medium rare but it came out a little more rare than I wanted to. But I was still able to finish it. Seasoned potatoes were really good, well seasoned, some have crispy skin, which I loved. My company enjoyed their orders as well. I saw how well the eggs were cooked on their benedicts! The yolk was oozing. Service was great! Staff were attentive and quick. Some of their prices were okay but I find the straberry waffle a little pricey. Looks like half waffle with strawberry for $15!! But I would still come back. They have other menus that are worth coming back for.

Yelp
The Waffle Experience has a rustic barn/modern vibe. Very cute- they have their mimosa options chalked on the wall and the kitchen area has a rustic barn feel to it. The service exceeded my expectations. Friendly service, checked on us often, and seemed to really care about the customer experience. I couldn't decided on the strawberry waffles or the waffle combo and with the help of the friendly staff ended up going with her recommendation and got the waffle combo, sunny side up, apple sausage, potatoes and waffles. The breakfast was great, everything was cooked perfectly and the waffles were crispy on the outside and moist. There were so many options to pick from and will have to come back and check out their lunch items next time..... and the bottomless mimosa!
google avatar

Chef Will G.

Yelp
Just want to state I luv waffles. Ambiance Rustic place very clean. Country music playing I like it. There is a counter to eat brings back fond memories of having breakfast with my dad. Service Megan who is owner was very friendly. Her husband is the chef. I asked her to warm my syrup and she did. Waffle Combo Eggs Chicken apple sausage Seasoned potatoes Full of flavor. Will try one of these next time. Chicken fried steak with tenderized ribeye, sauce made in house. Eggs Benedict, sauce made in house, one walked by and wow looks good. Will b back when in area for breakfast.

Yelp
Is it cheap? No but everyone has higher prices now and it's often not good. This place was delicious. Great variety of items. Service was friendly and efficient. Everything tasted fresh and had a little extra touch. Eggs Benedict was delicious and the toasted English muffin was crispy and buttery. The pork belly hash was also great. The side of fries were a little small but who needs to take leftovers home anyway. The Cajun chicken sandwich could have used more seasoning on the chicken but otherwise everyone enjoyed their brunch. I feel the quality justifies the prices here.
google avatar

Kathleen R.

Yelp
It was ok... Could of been better. The food needs a lol more flavor waffle was dry. Service was average
google avatar

Spencer L.

Yelp
A great spot for high quality food! When I ordered this Chicken and Waffle about a year ago I was just baffled by the many different flavors I could taste. This dish was definitely asian inspired as it had this sweet and sour type of glaze covering the whole item! This was a great dish and I can't wait to try other items on the menu. When I went I ordered my dish through my phone and it didn't take long at all for us to get our food. The place is compact but had a very diner type of feel. I can't wait to come back to this place for Brunch when I am back in the area!
google avatar

Yelp
Order a Chicken and Waffle to go. I've been here several times over the past 7 years and it seems the menu has changed or under new management . In the past the chicken was 1 big piece and moist. Now the chicken is smaller and Im not sure I received a partially cut chicken as well.. as if someone cut into the piece before packing. Also the chicken looks more like nuggets pieces which is misleading. Definitely wouldn't recommend to anyone...disappointed.

Leonard P.

Yelp
2nd poor experiences in 2 weeks and I won't be coming back. Again only 2 other people ( this place used to be packed) but not willing to put bacon in the waffle as requested. Plain waffle is small. The fruit ordered came when I was almost finished and the melon pieces were inedible. And a waffle place with cold syrup? Server spent all her time talking loudly to the cook, in Spanish, and didn't offer any drink refills or stopped by except with the check. This used to be a cutting edge place; what happened?
google avatar

Roddri A.

Yelp
We were a party of three and since it was Sunday there was a wait time of 20 mins. Once seated our server was prompt at requesting our order. We decided on 2 orders of Sweet Heat Chicken and waffles with 1 Pork Belly Hash and 1 with seasoned potatoes, an order Cajun Chicken Scramble. I must say that the Pork Belly Hash potatoes was very well seasoned however, the Chicken was bland with absolutely no flavor at all. The Waffles were just okay. The Sweet Heat Chicken was just okay. I'm quite sure it's because they were so busy.
google avatar

Yelp
Cute little spot. Food was delicious and came out quickly. Inside is clean and the service was great.
google avatar

Ashley R.

Yelp
I was on a road trip to return a rental I had due to my car being in service out of town. So I came from Orange County and traveled up and found this cute little spot for breakfast! It was open at the perfect time! So we stopped by and tried the pork belly with potatoes and their waffles! They were delicious! Friendly staff and cozy environment. I definitely recommend!
google avatar

Kandi P.

Yelp
Their breading on everything is AMAZING.. order their southern fried chicken, chicken strips, chicken fried steak! AND of course their waffles are delicious..made with SWEET cream!
google avatar

Tiffanie K.

Yelp
Great place for brunch with friendly vibes and great service. The food was amazing. My son really enjoyed his chicken and waffles sitting at the bar while watching all the chefs preparing the orders. Their orange juice is fresh which is a plus for me.

Kid P.

Yelp
Best chicken fried steak I have ever had by FAR. My new go to when ever I come to town now. Excellent service and can substitute
google avatar

Alina K.

Yelp
YUM YUM YUM!!! This place is awesome!! It has incredible food and great service. The decor is very cute and rustic. Everything I have ordered from The Waffle Experience has been absolutely delicious. Their food is generally divided into two categories: sweet and savory. I'm more of a sweet person, but I did like the savory items I tried. They give good sized portions and I usually went home with leftovers. A couple of negative things: the prices are a little high (but something I'm willing to pay for a special occasion) and the restaurant can get crowded (longer wait times). I recommend making a reservation, especially if you're going with a larger group.

Natalie S.

Yelp
8/10 A little bummed their potatoes are no longer big. Waffle was sweet and wasn't dry. Not a fan of thick cut bacons but theirs was flavorful. Overall, the California Benedict is a great dish with a perfect balance of flavor.
google avatar

Frankie X.

Yelp
Ashley, Evelyn, Henry and a couple of new employees Meade our experience amazing. How can apple sausage, two over easy fried eggs, and steak fries tastes so delicious. I'm believe it's the love of what you do. What an amazing experience again. I love these small Mom and Pop Restaurants!
google avatar

Mike R.

Yelp
I showed up at 9:00 AM on a Monday, even though their posted hours say they open at 8:00 AM. The place was completely closed--no lights on, no staff, and no one answering the phone (which doesn't even have a voicemail set up). Total waste of time this morning. Extremely unprofessional and disappointing. I won't be returning.

Chris N.

Yelp
Called ahead of time to make sure they were open and got here around 9:15AM on a Thursday. The place had a decent amount of seating and wasn't too busy. There were only 1-2 staff at the time helping out and they were very friendly with food arriving within a timely manner. The food was delicious. The steak was tender and the eggs were fluffy and flavorful. The strawberry waffle had a crisp soft texture to it and although it already came with a chocolate drizzle, I opted to add Nutella to it and it still came out not too sweet (which is a compliment). It also came with a bit of walnuts on top. I ordered a side of waffles which came on a small plate dusted with powdered sugar and a little caramel syrup drizzle I believe. It had a dense texture to it and had a bit of a chew compared to the strawberry waffle. (Liège waffles) Overall I enjoyed the food and would come again.
google avatar

Jeffree T.

Yelp
Really good food, and the waffles are very tender. Service was fast and efficient. The coffee was good as well. We will be back.
google avatar

Carina C.

Yelp
Food was expensive and honestly not very good.. Service was slow but servers and front of house was very nice. They were severely understaffed for a Saturday afternoon. Lots of locals and living feeling. We ordered the Country Boy Benedict with Jalapeño waffle and a side of Pork Belly Hash and their Chicken N Waffles with a side of fruit. Along with that for drinks we got Apple Juice and Guava Juice. Firstly the drinks we received were in very small cups, not sure if they were refillable but I noticed that they were completely different from cups that others were getting for their drinks. We were charged $4 for around 8-10 oz of apple juice and $5 for the same amount of Guava Juice. I later read reviews and there are mixed reviews on the refills. The waffles were horrible. Extremely hard and dense, very over cooked especially the Jalapeño waffle, tasted exactly like the Herb waffle (which default came with the Chicken and waffles) with some Jalapeño slapped ontop. It was a damn shame since this place is suppose to be known for waffles. The pork belly Hash was not Hash nor pork belly at all? It was an extra $4 and I wanted to try it cause it sounded unique. It ended up being roasted potatoes in what I assume in pork belly fat... I'm not too sure honestly, haha. Definitely not worth the extra $4...I would just stick with fries. The best part was the Chicken strips/tenders for both dishes. They were well seasoned, a bit dry, but not too bad. The slaw on the chicken n waffles and the gravy for the benedict were not bad as well. They paired well with the chicken strips. Overall, service was slow but not really their fault as they are URGENTLY HIRING, as seen on their front door. Food was overpriced for the quality and amount, not a bang for your buck or even good taste. Not sure if I just went on an off day or ordered the wrong things, but I will not be back any time soon :(
google avatar

Eva B.

Yelp
It was okay, not great, not bad, but okay. The waffles weren't crisp, and flavors were fine. Nothing to write home about, but nothing to complain about.
google avatar

Danielle W.

Yelp
Food was okay, came out fast. Wasn't that hot. Service was slow but nice customer service. We waited a while to get asked for our order. Probably won't be back. Restroom was disgusting!

Yelp
My friend and I were looking for a place that gave us both savory and sweet options. The Waffle Experience was the perfect spot! We went in the morning, around 10 a.m., and there was ample parking. Stepping inside, it was lively and filled with action; all the tables were filled, chefs were cooking, and waitresses were moving swiftly. There was a bit of a wait to be seated, but the time moved quickly. Unfortunately, when we went, they were out of pork belly. I ordered the Ribeye Scramble and Strawberry Waffle, while my friend got the Peach Cobloer Waffle Special and Avocado Toast. I first tried the waffle; I am not typically a waffle person, but when I tell you, it was truly delicious. It had a perfect amount of crispiness on the outside of the waffle, and it was not overly sweet, allowing the walnuts and strawberry to shine. When I tried the Ribeye Scramble, I went for the potatoes that were first filled with flavor! And the ribeye was soft and hit my savory needs. Overall, it was a great experience! The only reason I took one star off was that our time there felt a bit rushed. The moment we sat and glanced at the menu, they wanted us to order already, haha. But all okay, I would totally go again.
google avatar

Jane N.

Yelp
Good breakfast. Tried to go back last month with my friends but door was closed. Yelp, Google and EG website said it's open. Tried to call them no answer, we thought they were just busy.
google avatar

Nhung D.

Yelp
My husband and I were back in EG visiting home (we currently live in Chicago but I'm from EG) and we decided to stop by The Waffle Experience for a Sunday brunch. It wasn't too busy when we got there so we were seated right away, which was nice because I thought we might have to wait a little bit since it's located in the busier part of town and during breakfast/brunch hours. We've been here once before and the service was satisfactory/similar to our last experience. We ordered the Churro waffles to share while my husband got the All American Classic and I opted for the veggie scramble. We were both pleased with our dishes and the churro waffles was the cherry on top! We really enjoyed this spot and will be back whenever we're back in town!

Paige W.

Yelp
The food was good, so I will give them 2 stars for that. The service was terrible. The restaurant either needs paint or needs to be cleaned. The wall we were sitting by was yellow and COVERED in boogers, yes boogers. Absolutely disgusting. Turned us both off our meals. We were waiting quite awhile following our food and saw a couple women go to the podium to pay, so we followed suit. Our server looked at us and rolled her eyes at us for being at the podium. $0 tip. Absolutely not okay.

Ann W.

Yelp
Went on a weekend around 11am so of course it's busy and there is a long wait but staff did not acknowledge customers waiting. Hostess did find time to socialize and joke in the back with other staff members though. I will say the coffee was great but the food was not anything I will be returning for any time soon. Over easy eggs were over cooked and crusty, Potatoes are xx small cubes that are very hard and roll off your plate because they're more like marbles. Also the waffles are about 2 inches, very small. No spoons in the restaurant at least that's what I was told. 1 napkin per customer and no butter available for waffles. Bad experience.

Valerie R.

Yelp
I've been twice now! This place has such a great thing going and I believe it's family owned. The homemade whipped cream is the best. Truly obsessed with this place and their waffles. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. I will stand on this recommendation to anyone. Semi Casual Vibe.
google avatar

Christina N V.

Yelp
I have been here twice. The first time was 2 years ago and I had a bad experience. This time was a complete 360! My sister came to visit and chose this place for brunch so I said why not. I was pleasantly surprised. I was ear hustling and overheard the owner talking to a family member he said him and his wife took over ownership about 15 months ago. Good for them, because they have changed it for the good. The food was so delicious and a great size for the price of the dish. We were all satisfied with no complaints. The staff are working really hard to make sure we got everything and very attentive.
google avatar

Cindy C.

Yelp
The food isn't my thing. Too new-age. No real syrup, not enough selection. Won't eat there again.

Zion G.

Yelp
I don't usually leave reviews, but I had such a genuinely kind experience at the Waffle House in Elk Grove that I felt like I needed to share. First off, the food is amazing -- classic comfort with a personal touch. You can tell there's heart behind every dish. But what really stood out was the kindness of the new owner (they took over about 2 years ago, I heard). I had ordered a strawberry waffle to go, and while juggling everything in the car, I accidentally flipped the box and the waffle got smooshed. I didn't even expect anything -- it was my own clumsy mistake. But when the owner found out I didn't get a chance to try it hot and fresh the way it's meant to be, they insisted on making me a brand new one -- right then and there, no hesitation, no charge. Not just because it's good business, but because they genuinely cared that I got to enjoy it the way it was intended. That kind of service is rare these days. It wasn't just a waffle -- it was a moment of real kindness and pride in their craft. If you're in Elk Grove and haven't stopped by since the new owners took over, give it a try. You'll get more than great food -- you'll leave feeling taken care of. -Zi

Yelp
I am definitely coming back!! I only came in for a loaded Bloody Mary, which was so delicious...normally I only like Bloody Mary's I make when I was a bartender but the one that made mine was just like how I make them. The BLT topper to my drink was so good. The waffle was more breaded than sweet. I finished everything. I wanted to get more but I was on a food adventure this day and had a bunch of other places to try. My friend that lives in the area has never been here so I will definitely be taking her next visit. I was lucky enough to park right by the door but there are other places to park in the parking lot, it's just pretty busy. They have indoor and outdoor seating and great service.

Yelp
The manager today (5/4/25) did a horrible job in directing her team. Although the hostess tried to accommodate our request for an outdoor seating (especially since we waited for a while) the manager meddled and told her to sit us at the tall counter facing the kitchen instead and with a warning that the food will be very much delayed. After browsing an uninspired menu and seeing a table of Senior citizens who were seated 20 mins ahead of us without their food yet, we decided to walk out. Risking waiting again at another restaurant (which didn't happen) was better than likely waiting ten thousand minutes more to order and for our food to arrive. Their claim as the "premiere brunch spot in Elk Grove" is so far from the truth.

Yelp
My review, eggs benny: it was sooo good, the poached eggs were perfect, the hollandaise was fresh, the veggies were a perfect al dente, and the pork belly hash was good I just wish there was more pork belly in it. The only thing I really did not like was that some of the waffle had pockets of WAY too much salt. Other than that it was great My husband's review chicken and waffles: it was okay, chicken was slightly dry but very well seasoned, great balance between sweet and heat

Yelp
Your hours say 8 AM, but you're not open. I drove in the rain to get a fucking waffle and you're closed.

Yelp
The Waffle Experience offers a solid breakfast, although it was nothing special. I had the waffle combo, which again was good, but eehhhh. The waffle itself was fine with a hint of cinnamon, but the bacon and eggs didn't meet expectations. On the other hand, my son had the ribeye scramble, which he enjoyed. The scramble had nice pieces of steak, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, sourdough toast, and also included, which we both agreed were well seasoned breakfast potatoes. The caramel iced coffee was pretty good and refreshing. It definitely added a sweet touch to our morning. The service was friendly, making it a pleasant experience.

Yelp
Food is delicious, especially avocado toast. I would eat here again. Better care of upkeep of restrooms.

Yelp
Customer Service is sad. Walked in after an another couple, no one greeted the couple in front of me or me and my friend. We even made eye contact with staff but they ignored us. We waited at least 5 minutes at the entrance but no one acknowledged the couple in front of us or me and my friend.
