After you feed the llamas, zigzag your way through the post-apocalyptic world that is The Goat Farm, and try to sneak into that gigantic abandoned warehouse with the random grill and graffiti covered walls, take a break from your crazy ATL adventure and stop by The Warhorse Coffee Joint. It's the ultimate hipster wet dream, minus any pretentiousness. Things to know:
*****
I. LOCATION
Warhorse resides in the middle-ish of the gigantic Goat Farm complex. It's relatively easy to find - just look for the outdoor seating, small trampoline, and surrounding walls made up of interesting cylindrical tubes and mismatched bricks. Parking is free.
II. COFFEE & FOOD
They don't have a robust menu, but they do have a few coffees and teas. I opted for their cold press. And it's not some iced coffee bull, because there wasn't any acid when I tasted it. (Woot!) They also serve Viet coffee as well.
Unfortunately, they don't have any baked goods for patrons to buy. It would be great if they sold croissants, muffins, or scones. Or any kind of food. All good, though.
III. SERVICE
I don't remember her name, but the woman working behind the counter was very nice. She also took care of her sick dog, while working the register. (So maybe I'm biased because I love dogs.) In short, no problems here.
IV. AMBIENCE/ DÉCOR
If a library and a vintage clothing store had a child, it would look something like the inside of Warhorse. It's... different, and their decor is one of the most unique aspects of this establishment. There's also a gigantic table for meetings, and a few four-person ones for small groups. Not a lot of outlets exist, so make sure your laptop has a decent battery. There's also a chair covered in fur. I'm not sure, if it's real or not.
Also, the music they play there is... eclectic. Anything from hip-hop instrumentals to raging metal - so come with an open mind. Or ear plugs.
V. PRICES
They only accept cash donations, which totally caught me off guard. So for non-cash debit and credit card holders like myself, I couldn't give anything. (My boss did, though!)
VI. OVERALL
I really did enjoy my time there and I think everyone living in the area should should check it out at least once. It should at least be in your rotation, if you're a mobile worker.
