Just returned from a 5 day stay at this hotel. No complaints from us , the location is fantastic with views to die for day and night. Beds are super comfy with nice sheets. Bathroom is a decent size, clean and a good shower. Staff aren't very interested in the guests and more interested in looking at their phones. We just wanted a place to put our heads down after a long day of site seeing and this hotel was ideal for that. I would highly recommend it , the area around here is so peaceful to come back to on an evening.

I stayed at The Washington for three nights and four days in May 2024. The view was really good with such a promise of the days to come. The room sufficed and the bathroom was adequate but poorly lit. The windows only opened a few centimeters to allow fresh air. The location was excellent – so central to Manhattan and the 911 Memorial. Everything was within a very short walk. And it needed to be as the hotel doesn’t offer any sort of food service, dining service, room service or even tea and coffee making facilities. Whilst there was a small bar fridge, waking up and having to go out to buy a coffee is a major negative. Also, no laundry service to speak of. With a lobby on the fifth floor and rooms starting on the sixth floor, utilizing two different lifts was a bit confusing to say the least, making all coming and goings laborious. As an Australian who paid months in advance a big sum for each night stay I felt very underwhelmed by what I got for my money. Check in and check out was unpleasant and processed by separate gruff grunts in the right direction. Similarly when I left a message with the reception service to find out about transfers they never bothered to reply. Didn’t meet my expectations considering the cost.

We arrived here on Thursday 16th May and leave Tuesday 22nd May. We booked through Booking.com who emailed me 3 weeks before my holiday saying my hotel has been cancelled. Obviously worried and upset I tried getting a refund from BC who told me it will be 5 days. I noticed that we paid hotel in full through BC. I emailed this hotel to ask what was going on. They emailed back very quickly and explained that our rooms have not been cancelled and sent an invoice to put my mind at ease. B.C did not want to help me and I will be leaving them a bad review. ||||The hotel however could not have helped us enough. Kept our luggage until we could check in. We asked for an extra bed in one of our rooms as we wanted one each. They did this for us promptly. ||||The rooms are clean and very spacious. They have an iron, fridge and hairdryer. The only down side to this hotel is no kettle. Imas far I know that is common in New York Hotels. ||||I would say if you have had an email from BC, then please contact hotel directly who will be able to help you lot better than BC. ||||I think all the recent bad reviews are to do with booking.com not the Washington Hotel.

There is no way I would stay at this hotel again. Torn sheets on the bed, lights in the bathroom broken. Very dimly lit rooms. Staff not helpful or friendly. Asked for a late check out and was told yes, no problem. Find out from someone else they charge you to do that! Would be nice if the staff member had mentioned it. There are many hotels in the area that are much nicer. Would not recommend at all

This place was good for the price, bu New York standards, and the location is great. Wifi was solid. Hotel was quiet. But rooms (especially the bathroom) are small. Work desk chair was inadequate. Lighting is bad. Never tried or saw the restaurant, but was disappointed it did not serve breakfast. All in all, not terrible, but I could stay there again.

I have been trying to get a refund form this hotel since January for $879.08USD and being totally ignored! Have gone through every avenue possible, including refunds email address and emailing Olympia (the manager) directly! The hotel is great and a great location- but the customer service is terrible! I have had to lodge a dispute with my bank now.

Great staff service from Check-in to housekeeping. The room was very clean, even the in the corners and few hidden spots. Only one elevator running during my stay but the hotel wasn't crowded. Will stay here again.

The whole place seemed depressing. The decor was dark in the entrance and lobby. The rooms were plain and dimly lit. The shower water pressure was pathetic. The bathroom was super dark. The staff was pretty terrible. Very unhelpful and unprofessional. The guy at the front desk was complaining about not having water available and "i work here". He was not welcoming at all. He always seemed bothered by guests. The bar / restaurant was closed. Elevators sometimes didn't work properly. I will not be back.
