Houston’s signature linear park pairs skyline views with trails, public art, and the hauntingly beautiful Cistern. Frequently highlighted by Condé Nast Traveler and 36 Hours in Houston coverage, it’s a reliable all-ages staple with year-round programming.

Had a great time here at the Houston Oyster & Seafood Fest!! Long lines, to be expected. You'd think the vendors would have planned for more people, as a few ran out a couple hours before closing. Great venue, though! I would love to go back without the threat of a thunderstorm looming over us!

Second trip here, took visitors. Boring for me, but interesting to them, as it was to me the first trip. It's a must see, in my opinion, but doesn't replay well.

I've been coming to this park for decades before it was even called Buffalo Bayou Park and loosely just called Eleanor Tinsley Park even though that wasn't the whole park. The park is a great part of the city and has been motivation for me to exercise whether it's riding my bike by myself or with a group of friends; or getting a few people together and walk so we feel safe when we get out to downtown and come back. The problem is that there is a gatekeeping tyrant at the visitor center who just does not like seeing people enjoy themselves and as soon as he sees a group together, runs out and accosts them and just loses his mind and tells them they can't be there and have to have permission (I'm guessing pay for a permit?) to just get some friends together. I would understand if we were having a large event that blocked off parts of the park but at most we spent 10 minutes walking through the park a few months ago and sure enough, we saw the guy huffing and puffing running towards us while his shirt got untucked telling us we can't be there. Another time it was 95 degrees outside with the sun blaring and the park is nearly empty and we were just meeting there to go somewhere else, and again he came huffing and puffing and angry at us. I really don't know what his deal is. It's a public park meant to be enjoyed by us, the residents of the city who pay taxes to help maintain the park. The funny part is that we weren't even going to be at the park for more than 10 minutes again but he even had a problem with us even existing and parking on the public streets. I really worry what would happen if this person ever got any real power. Absolute tyrant.

This is a really cool park that I will definitely return to explore more of. Went for Jazz In The Park recently and the vibe was chill. Being newbie, I wasn’t prepared for the parking limitations up close and I would definitely bring my cooler . Overall the park was clean, they had food trucks out front and there was no drama.

Views, friendly locals and visitors, events plus a many things to do. The famous Cistern is here but there's more. Rent bikes, bring your skate boards or simply walk/hike/run/bike the expansive trails. Rent paddle boards and kayaks. Yup. So much to enjoy the outdoors. Dress for the heat between April and October. Enjoy

First time at this park with my family from Canada and it was just amazing. The time and day we picked was just perfect. There was just the right amount of crowd and the weather was very pleasant. We decided to go around 6:30 in the evening so to ensure the weather was not too hot. The park has amazing views of downtown Houston. There is a stage where they do events and it seems very roomy. The park is so big and it has multiple trails for walking, biking and even kid friendly trails which was super cool. They have proper signage all throughout the park so you can keep track of where you are. There is also a skatepark here and its massive. The park had so many spots to take beautiful pictures with the family. We had a great time and so did our kids.

This was the historical tour guided by Rose Marie who is extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. I plan to go back for a music and light performance as we only got a brief glimpse of the possibilities

Simply love this place and all the trails are neverending and beautiful.... way to much to see in a day. I've been there several times and I still haven't explored it all yet... Looking forward to going back again...plenty things to do and see for all ages.
