The Waterbird Asheville

Great find! They serve coffee, cocktails, and wine. Relaxing atmosphere. The staff was courteous and attentive. The second place in five years I have found that has great hot chocolate! (Why is that so hard?!). The other one being Ugly Mug in Garner. I'm looking forward to trying more on their menu.

This place is really pretty, and the atmosphere is chill. The staff was very kind, and helpful. Their Salted Caramel latte is delicious! Plus they have great free WiFi! 👏🏻

Interesting place. Not a restaurant, but mainly, as they want to think of themselves, a neighborhood bar. Outside seating for folks with dogs added to the ambience. Drinks were cleverly named and interesting. Food consisted of cutely named appetizers which were quite tasty. I didn't rate it higher because, as a bar, it lacked cosiness. Felt more like an airport bar in a large airport without the crush of travelers. The Starbucks across the street was cosier. Service was slow especially given the lack of meal service. I might go back.

The owner nailed the concept of coffee shop meets bar. Love the decor in here. Check it out if you want to avoid downtown but stay close.

We have experienced Waterbird a few times now, both for breakfast and evening drinks. First, the service has been great every time. The drinks are fantastic. The Rosebud was very refreshing. My coffee was the perfect compliment to the biscuits and gravy. Ended breakfast with the griddled banana bread with the toasted walnut butter. Really lovely space, very light and airy, with hanging plants and a really great vibe. Some of the best biscuits and gravy we’ve had, made with local ingredients.
