The Waterfront Wyandotte

My husband and I went for our anniversary. The atmosphere is amazing. It is right on the water and they have huge windows for a great view. It was very quiet, but it was only a couple days after Thanksgiving. Maybe everyone was still enjoying their leftovers. The food was excellent. We tried the steak and cheese egg rolls for the appetizer, the fish and chips and chicken marsala for the main courses, and a non- alcohol berry drink. All of it was fantastic. I brought home cheesecake for dessert. It was good, but a small piece. Everything was reasonably priced and the server, Jasmine was exceptional. She checked on us quite often and was very kind. We will definitely be going back.It looked like they had live music there, but not this night. Maybe next time!

It was a solid OK. My dinner group had 2x fish and chips and a salmon. One of the fish and chip plates had a hair on it. The other had paper in the Cole slaw. Both were taken care of quickly by the server. The fish was fried enough that there was an abundance of oil. My friend stated that the salmon was really good. I didn’t take pictures of the food since it was just average. The best part as the outdoor eating area but the view of the water was partially blocked by a large building at the end of their eating area. The atmosphere was excellent.

Had a very unfortunate experience of both entrees being very poor. We ordered the mushroom and spinach Alfredo and the fish and chips. The Alfredo was ordered without protein and came with a rare steak mixed in. We took the steak out (dripping red into the sauce) and put it on a separate plate. We told the server and were told to “take the steak home to the dogs.” The fish and chips had absolutely no flavor (the tartar sauce added some dill and relish flavor) and the breading of the fish was wet. We brought all this to the managers attention where he compensated us by giving us punch style gift cards (must make a drink purchase to use and must visit multiple times to get the full use of the cards) and removing the Alfredo. I’m never ever one to ask for management but I can say this is easily the worst restaurant experience I’ve had in recent years.

Wanted to try a new place to celebrate a birthday. We should’ve seen that there was only one person in the entire restaurant on a Sunday evening as the first warning sign. Ordered one of the non-alcoholic drinks off the menu, tasted terrible. Had a very off taste, and none of the flavors went together. We asked for an appetizer, the waiter stated they were out of three different appetizers. Yes, three different appetizers, on a Sunday evening they were out of. Honestly, we wish we would’ve left after that, but we proceeded to try and give the entree a try. Third warning should’ve been when they brought out A1 steak sauce to our table before dinner came. We both ordered the sirloin dinner, which came with potatoes, and chef’s choice of vegetables (zucchini and broccoli this time). Our waiter had asked us to cut into the middle of our steak to make sure it was done correctly. Which, we found a little strange, because every restaurant we’ve been to, the waiter/waitress does that for you. Steak was done correctly, but was the worst steak I ever had. Outside was not seared, but very burnt, hard to cut through. Extremely chewy, very hard to eat steak. So much in fact, that I could only have two bites of it. Lacked flavor and seasoning, was absolutely tasteless. The potatoes were very small, that had some kind of seasoning on top that did not go well with them. On top it, they were on the edge of being burnt. The vegetables? I wish I could say better, but they tasted like they were just threw on a plate. Broccoli was absolutely not cooked, and the zucchini/squash was mushy and has no seasoning. The best thing about the dinner was the shrimp. We ordered it surf and turf style, and came with three pieces. I had very little of my dinner and had to box it up and leave. Our waiter was very nice and provided wonderful service above all else. The restaurant is beautiful, and looks like it has so much more potential than this. We read so many great reviews, and were so excited to try this place, and turned out to be one of, if not the worst dinner we’ve had. We will not be back, we were beyond disappointed, an absolute waste of $90.

Had the Maine lobster. It was delicious. Never have had lobster before so this was a bit outside my norm. But it was really good. Chef Steve did an excellent job on it. I now understand why I’ve seen people wear plastic bibs when they eat lobster.

Tonight I went to the Waterfront for the first time, the food was amazing and the service was impeccable. Aubreé was our waitress, she was super sweet, attentive and friendly. From the appetizers, to entrees to dessert, everything was delicious. The staff was very friendly from the time that we walked in the door, everyone was very accommodating . If you are looking for an amazing place on the water, try the Waterfront in Wyandotte and request Aubreé as your server.

This place will definitely be seeing me again! I kept it cute and simple with a glass of Prosecco, which paired perfectly with my entrée—a mushroom and spinach pasta topped with salmon and a side Caesar salad. The pasta was incredible—rich, buttery, and seasoned to perfection without being too salty. For dessert, I had the cookie butter cheesecake, and I have no words… it was that good. I need this exact meal every time I come back. It’s the perfect combo. The service was also on point. Everyone smiled and greeted you as they walked by, and the place was super clean and welcoming. I’m obsessed.

Ambulance was great, however; our server Ronnie brought us extremely dirty plates for our apps. I needed to point out the unwashed dishes. Once our app came (steak & cheese egg rolls), the sauce was extremely salty. Eggs rolls, mediocre. Our entrees took awhile (not busy) & the surf & turf shrimp w/sauce was soooo salty almost inedible. The potatoes had no seasoning at all, so I used the sauce but still crazy salty. The southwest salad that was ordered, the dressing was extremely salty. Highly disappointed in the food quality & our server did not accommodate accordingly for any issues. Will not be back.

Mel was amazing and the food was delicious. The atmosphere was beautiful for a Friday night. We look forward to returning to

Service was awesome! Manda was our server and she did an absolutely great job! Her personality was above and beyond what was expected. We'll be back on my birthday in a couple weeks. Today was our anniversary and it was wonderful. The food is great too, you must try veggie wrap if you like health food and my husband loved the salmon burger. See you soon!

Our server, Kelly M was wonderful! She didn't hover but checked in on us at appropriate intervals for a group of ladies who hadn't seen each other in a while and were gabbing away. She had a positive attitude, and made us feel welcome and at home. We were a table of retired Human Resource professionals and we all said we'd hire her any day. The food was very good, I had the fish and chips and it was done perfectly with scrumptious homemade tartar sauce. The atmosphere is lovely, but unfortunately the 95 degree heat/humidity kept us inside. I'll be back to sit outside at a later date!

Sadly this place could do so much better but i do not know if they even try . -our waitress was super nice but the waitress to the table next to us was a hot mess. - they were literally out of everything on a Saturday ( mash potatoes, steak bites and more dishes even dessert) -place is beautiful -drinks were okay

This place only certain foods are good but it's just a little too pricey. I have tasted their steaks here on occasions. But for $42 vs the $12 at the MARINE CORP LEAUGE STEAK NITE. I mean what would you do ? And for $12 with trimmings and a drink it makes it more magical in taste too. Now the pier is nice over looking the river is always a good feeling to watch. But they really do not do much of entertainment since they remodel it. It makes this place to chaotic boring . I wonder what happened to all the diversity that used to show up here. Drinks are expensive too but I do recommend the Tokyo tea it will catch you by surprise. This is all. Chief Elite status ? I mean for what it's worth I am no Ernest Hemingway I am just a regular guy .

Overall I'd give the Waterfront a thumbs up. The food was slightly above average, with large portions of service was very good, and you can't beat the location. It's right on the water, and they had a band playing when we visited.

The portion of food was a lot larger than I expected. The chicken picatta itself was great but the potatoes and vegetables left a lot to be desired. They could've definitely added more seasoning or changed the plating. Service wasn't very attentive either. I had higher expectations for this place.

Had a nice meal. The patio seating is nice. Our server was great. The food and drinks were good. We both had a pasta dish and they were big portions.

The ambiance is beautiful, inside and outside everything is beautiful to look at. We sat outside and had an umbrella to keep the sun off our eyes. The food was actually pretty good. After reading several reviews I was afraid to get disappointed with the food but I was pleasantly surprised. The only downfall with the trip was the cocktails. They were out of several drinks I wanted. The waitress also confused the drinks I wanted and brought me the wrong item but she was nice and corrected her mistake. The wait was a bit longer than they originally quoted us which is why I docked them on a star, however there is plenty of parking so that is a plus. All in all this is a cute spot to stop in for a bite to eat.

Very tasty! Classic pasta. But otherwise they are also known for their burgers and wraps. The waterfront view of the Detroit river was also so beautiful. I can't wait for it to get warmer and to sit in their outdoor seating. Service was alittle on the slower side, but we were a bigger party.

It has been a while since I have been here and was nice to come in this evening! The location is good because it is on the water! I came in around 5p and it was a light crowd and had great service! The food was very good and they have some of the best spinach and artichoke dip around !!

I've seen some good reviews on this place, but our experience was pretty disappointing. 45 minutes for beverages to get to our table? Really? I believe our wait staff was fairly new and totally overwhelmed with the amount of tables she was working. Manager was visiting many of the tables but didn't stop at ours. If waitstaff is new and struggling, he should have been helping, refilling water glasses, busing tables, not standing around like he owns the joint (maybe he did). Food was mediocre, not worth the time we spent there. With so many good restaurants to go to, this won't be repeated for a long time.

I walked into this establishment looking for a nice Father's Day meal. I was greeted with terrible staff but nice scenery. I was displeased with how bad the service was and i havent even began talking about the food quality. The food was not worth its price. I ordered the fish and chips and was given fish that was so mushy I began to question its authenticity. I loved the views, and the seating arrangements were nice, but overall this was quite a disappointing experience.

Boo - no one's fault - but the damn bees arrived a month early. Kind of really ruined a perfect afternoon on patio. In drinks, food etc. good view of water .waitress was good. Had a waterfront lemonade, tasted great. Shared a saganaki cheese and a Santa Fe salad. Both were good and decent portions. Some very spicy dressing for salad - kicked it up a bit !

We went for a work lunch on a Thursday around 11:30am. Placed order at 11:45am and at 12:20pm, we did not get our food. I think food came out at 12:25pm, so about a 40 minutes wait. But, one of the coworkers said the last time she came the service was fast so I am guessing there was something going on in the kitchen. I ordered lobster roll after debating if I should get fish and chips. Lobster roll had shredded lobster meat which looked like immitation crab meat but I am sure this was not immitation crab meat. Anyway, I prefer chunks of lobster meat over shredded lobster meat. Overall lobster roll was just okay, I regretted not going with fish and chips because others ordered fish and chips and the portion looked really big and yummy! Anyway, the fries came with the lobster roll was kind of disappointing since it was not hot right out of the fryer, but more like it has been sitting in the kitchen for ten minutes before it was brought to our table. Again, I can't judge by just this one time visit so I assume there was something going on in the kitchen that made the service very slow and serve cold fries. Bottom line, I will definitely come back here but I won't get lobster roll the next time I come here. Definitely will try fish and chips.

Food service and views were amazing. Bartender Joe took care of me above and beyond and dealt with rude customers the right way who were sending back orders that had no business being sent back. Will definitely be back. Chicken Marsala was great.

The service was amazing never had so much fun at a restaurant and the food was perfect burger was cooked perfect and will definitely recommend the calamari

We enjoyed the view and the appetizer as well. We got the Lobster Crostini. The beer was cold and my Fiancé's drinks were fantastic! We were planning on having more food, but the yellowjackets were on a tear! They were all over the patio. We will definitely give it another shot, either when we don't have our pup and can eat inside, or in the spring when we all 3 can enjoy the patio without being attacked.

I haven't been to the Waterfront in quite some time. I always seem to forget about it but stopped in to listen to some jazz and get some dinner. I had a burger, which was pretty good. My wife had the salmon, which she said was OK. Our other friend got the chicken marsala, and there was tons of oil in the sauce. He said it wasn't good at all. The liquor selection was very small, and my wife had to send her wine back as it smelled like vinegar. The service was really poor as well. Our waitress stated, "If our prep cook actually cuts some lettuce, I will be able to get your salads out to you, but your meals might actually come out first." Overall, i don't think I will come back for a $262 mediocre meal and bad service.

The food and environment was phenomenal. Marissa was an excellent server. Even while training someone else. She was able to take care of our needs.

Everything on the menu is very overpriced and the food is mediocre at best. Will not be coming back. Although, the overall ambiance is nice, it does not make up for the lack of food quality nor the price.

We were so excited to try out a new place this evening especially on the water! When we arrived there was a little wait, so we headed upstairs to the rooftop bar, which was very cool! However their $7 daiquiris (on special) were the worst drinks we have had in a very , very, long time, would jot recommended these! Even thought they told us the wait would be 30 mins. The table was ready in about 15, which was exciting! When we got to the table I ordered a mojito which was a MUCH better drink choice! We loved sitting at our table RIGHT by the water, so relaxing. My husband ordered the cheesesteak which he was very happy with overall! I ordered the broiled salmon which I was overall very disappointed with. The salmon was pretty fishy, which means it was an old piece. The rice was super hard and tasted like too much cinnamon. The menu stated this salmon came with honey garlic broccolini. I don't think that frozen broccoli heated up in the microwave that tasted like toilet water meets the description provided, sadly! We had high hopes for this place, not sure if we will be back, if so it won't be for the food or drinks just the location.

Had 12:45 reservations for 8. We arrived and were quickly seated by 12:35, ordered before 1:00 and got our food at 1:45! If the wait wasn't frustrating enough, my mother was given a salad and three mini burgers but she ordered a regular size burger. When she told the waitress, she responded "no, I wrote it down"! No further communication so she was stuck with something she didn't order. As the rest of us checked our food, my mini burgers had no cheese, although the waitress gave me every cheese option for my choice, and my daughter in laws sandwich had no sauce on it. When we brought that to her attention, she said "I can't check everything that comes out of the kitchen"! WHAT! Never an apology or any attempt to make it right with any of us. Plus, at least 3 at the tables sat with empty glasses through their entire meal. Once the food was delivered, I asked for our checks and explained we were in a hurry. Within 5 minutes, she brought 1 check for 1 guest and walked away, leaving 4 checks missing. Five minutes later, she brought 1 more check then walked away. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? WHERE ARE THE CAMERAS? IS THIS A JOKE? About 5 more minutes passed and I had to wave her down and ask her if we could have the other 3. All awhile she had all checks in her hand. We sat next to the register and I faced it. She then said, "I don't know why you all are so nippy". And as kindly and calmly as I could, I first acknowledge that she needs more help, and that customers should always be right and that there was a possibility that she could have written it down incorrectly. Then my mother and her sister told her that not only did she tell her she wanted the regular burger but she pointed to it as well. Will never return.

I decided that I wanted to sit by the water and have a nice meal. This place came up and it was a great idea as I have never been here. The place is right off of Jefferson Ave. There is parking for the location. We were greeted in a decent amount of time although noone was at the desk when entering. We sat outside. It was dark when I arrived but it was a great view. A band was playing which added to the ambience . I ordered the calamari as an appetizer which was good. It came in a butter sauce and I added a side of chill sweet sauce for some zing I got the blackened salmon which came with rice, broccoli with carrots. I got the Ceasar salad instead. The salmon was prepared well and tasty. The rice was ok. The waitress was attentive and friendly. I definitely will be back to visit again.

Absolutely beautiful place! Joe and Matt are wonderful at the waterfront Matt helped throw together our perfect wedding shower & Joe near the bartending area is absolutely wonderful! He is so kind and always make sure our carry out order is perfect. Amazing staff, great food. Good people: can't bear it!

You can't beat the drinks on the water and live band 5 minutes from home..! The food is a bit bland for my taste though.

What a disappointing experience...service was terrible...food was terrible...how do you mess up a hamburger? Salmon was tasteless & calamari was nasty...We're out of this we're out of that... Pier 500 was so much better, live & learn.

The back patio has a stunning view of the river and the vibe here is very cool. Prices are a bit high, but you are also paying for the atmosphere and ambiance. The calamari is a great appetizer and the boursin chicken is a good choice for an entree if you like a cheese sauce. All in all, a great place to grab a bite to eat and enjoy a great view.

Awful service!!! We came to celebrate my brothers birthday and unfortunately the entire celebration was tainted. You only turn 19 once but this for better or worse be an unforgettable night. Our server only took half of the table's drink order before running away from the table. Not at the fault of the server but a very bad look for the restaurant, they did not have a beer menu. When we tried to ask about what type of beer they had the server did not know which brewery made what or if the beer was an IPA vs Lager, etc. Someone at the table asked for an IPA and was served a Cider... and a terrible tasting cider to add. If the server was new we could have been understanding and perhaps suggested she have someone shadow her to do ensure our orders were taken properly but that was not the case. The server continued to rush away from our table before all requests were taken. We asked for water refills that we never received. Try eating Buffalo wings without water! You won't want to. We asked for ketchup that was never brought to the table. On top of the service we were served a meal on a dirty plate... The manager did remove the meal that came on a dirty plate and the beer that was supposed to be an IPA that was clearly not. However the server did receive an automatic 20% tip from our table's bill because of our party size. I can only think of 1 other time that I have not tipped 20% when eating out and this would have been the second occasion I felt it was far more than reasonable to leave significantly less. Understanding that life is tough for everyone during these post-COVID times, I wish I could be more understanding but for over 2 hours we were growing in hunger and frustration for not getting what we asked for!!!

Great views, great food but kitchen was a little slow this day. Even on the weekend there was like a 5 min wait. So that was. Great. Ordered the calamari to start with some drinks. Drinks were decent and calamari was really really good. Came out at a great temp and had a very good sauce on them. Then ordered the pulled pork burger. It was pretty good but a little undercooked for my taste buds. I enjoyed it anyhow. My sister had the fish and chips. She said they were good but wanted the fish and batter to have more flavor. My cousin had the vegetarian option alfredo with beyond meatballs she enjoyed it. Giving 4 stars because my food was good and our server was really good. Kitchen took a little long on the entree. The views are amazing and the live entertainment was a small duet band but was really good and with a diverse song list. If you have a boat you can pull up and dine. This place is a vibe so I will definitely visit again!

Really a great place to sit outside, enjoy the view and fresh air! Our food was great, had the fish and chips and jumbo shrimp with their mashed potatoes. Fresh made tartar sauce was great, everything was perfect. My only critique on the food was more coleslaw (only get a very small amount)! The only real issue was the amount of bees buzzing our table - it got really bad at one point driving some people to move inside. Not sure what they could do about this but keep this in mind if you go to sit outside. Oh and our server (John?) was top notch.

My last experience of the waterfront and wind out was a good one. It has, however, been a couple of years since I was last there. Great spot to take a date. Especially the deck on the waterfront itself. Beautiful view up the Detroit River of downtown Detroit. And the serenity of being Riverside.

Went for a friend's birthday and waited a long time before the waitress acknowledged us as we came in. Not only did I have a extremely long wait after ordering my drink and appetizer, but I never even received my meal. No apology from the waitress for never bring my order, instead she asked what we were waiting for. I am very disappointed in the service I received since I always pass this place and always wanted to give it a try. I WILL NEVER GO BACK, and I'm sure the 10 ladies I was with feel the same.

The environment was nice and clean, the server was friendly, and every thing was served promptly. The calamari was good, but the portion was small and there was very limited toppings (I'm talking 2 banana peppers and about 4 capers). I expected something very different from the salmon burger I received. Being on the water, I anticipated a fresh patty. The burger looked deep fried, but was probably just super battered. The filling of the burger took control of the taste. I didn't taste salmon; I tasted breading. The coleslaw on top was very good and creamy and the fries were good. The meat pasta was mediocre. All the food was pretty average. The view was great though.

Love the ambiance here, beautiful waterfront views. Feels very elegant! The food is average, the prices reflect the atmosphere more than the quality of food. I've always had really great service!

A nice atmosphere with potential to be a tourist attraction for Wyndotte. The night I dined here the kitchen staff was having problems, my waitress was very attentive and professional. I got my entree before my appetizers, but it was worth the wait, you can tell they took their time with the lobster which tasted sweet and fresh. When the appetizers did arrive the spinach artichoke with toasted chips was delicious. I plan to give this restaurant another visit earlier in the day where I can enjoy the sun and patio.

I do not consider ordering the All American cheese burger or any burger, I want there this past Sunday and my burger was undercooked The waiter said that food being undercooked was a COMMON thing. The Waiter Was very Nice It wasn't the fastest service but it was good. the look of the restaurant was nice it had that 90's theme although there were a lot of spiderwebs around the entire outside of the restaurant.

We so love going to the Waterfront. It's views of the water, boats and inside ambiance is just so beautiful. However sadly the food just does not match the beautiful atmosphere. The soup was like gravy and the BLT sandwich was just not good at all. (How can you mess up a BLT?) We have given this restaurant several attempts because of it's loveliness and the wonderful, kind and hardworking staff that is in short demand, however sadly not sure we will be back until maybe they improve their food.

Great Management, even better servers! The chefs are excellent as well. Highly recommend this spot for visitors and locals. Perfect Ambiance for date night !

Amazing views, drinks are tasteful and stiff. The good is right on point. Every visit Service has been consistent!

If you feel like being completely up charged and talked down to this is the best place to go. The waitress we had was completely incompetent and overcharged everyone. Then had the nerve to blame one of the guests saying she didn't pay her bill. This place is a complete disaster and I would avoid it at all costs.

Nice view , food was just ok but the waitress was very kind. Maybe I'll try something different next time .

I got the balsamic salmon with the asparagus a salad & the clam chowder. The food was okay not anything that I would write home about. The asparagus was actually my favorite part of the meal. It's got a beautiful waterfront so I would visit again to grab a drink and sit outside. Our server Victoria was great, very kind and attentive.

Super nice staff with a nice ambiance soft chairs,such nice food great prices too would come again.

Slow service and basic food. Prices were high. $13 for 6 unseasoned fishy shrimp cocktail lol. It does have nice outdoor seating facing the river though.

My friend and I came in for lunch on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Our server was amazing, the food was good, the drinks were decent, the view was amazing. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the nice weather. As soon as we paid our bill, while we were still finishing up our drinks and enjoying the afternoon, the manager loudly asked our server if we had paid. She said yes. His response..."then get them out of here!" The whole experience was ruined. This isn't a fast food restaurant; we paid $12 a piece for those drinks. I think we can find other restaurants on the water to frequent.

To start off the waitress was wonderful, so sweet and attentive. The views were great even in the dead of winter, just windows and riverfront throughout. In regards to the food however I was severely unimpressed. We were there for a total of 30 minutes and had an appetizer salad and entree all within those 30 minutes. How you ask did we get all of that within 30 minutes...I'm pretty sure everything we ate was microwaved or steamed, even the steak. Not sure how we were charged as much as we were for the food because it was not worth it at all. Do not waste your money on this place, seriously!! I would love to have my $150 back!!
