"One of the few restaurants in Cannon Beach with a waterfront view, offering a menu with local seafood, Oregon beef, and unique options like cinnamon roll French toast." - Molly Allen

"Open since 1977, The Wayfarer is one of the only dining establishments in town that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner — seven days a week — with a view of the iconic sea stack Haystack Rock. Just mere steps from the beach, this low-slung, sprawling exposed wood-accented restaurant has a pretty sweet set-up. You can send the kids down to play as you linger over grilled salmon eggs Benedict, pan-fried razor clams, or short rib poutine with Tillamook cheese curds. On date night, head to the cozy, upscale lounge, which specializes in whiskey. Ward off the winter chill with a hot toddy or Irish coffee, or the summer heat with a vodka-spiked blueberry lavender lemonade." - Alli Fodor, Jennifer Burns Bright

Had a great dinner. This was our first time, and we went on a recommendation from a friend. It did not disappoint. The service was great and the food was delicious. There are also views of the ocean and Haystack Rock.

This was the best breakfast out we've had in a long time. Unique and delicious offerings. Great location and view. The staff is incredibly kind. We had the cinnamon roll French toast and the chicken fried chicken. They were both to die for. We've been here several times for lunch and dinner and they are all excellent, breakfast just particularly sticks out. Thank you, Wayfarer!

Came in with my sister for dinner, we’re from PA so we were looking forward to treating ourselves to a nice meal. Matt was our server and he was amazing. We left the restaurant agreeing it was the best service we’ve had in a very long time. Nothing like back home. He was genuine and kind. We shared the calamari, which was extremely tender and perfectly cooked! I’ve never had calamari that wasn’t rubbery, we were both amazed! We also split a wedge salad, all I have to say is, get that salad!! For dinner we had the Halibut, which Matt recommended and the Pork, both delicious and filling! Ended the night with the chocolate dessert, AMAZING! Thank you for making our first night here special!

We chose this restaurant for its proximity to the beach. It does have an amazing view. The interior is not lovely at all. The salmon was just ok. Carrots were undercooked. The steak had no flavor at all. Literally. No. Flavor. I could have been chewing on luggage- though it wasn’t that tough. Our server was a top notch professional and apologetic. And he did not charge us for the steak. There are plenty of other dinner spots to try. We won’t be returning.

Update Jan 2025: We finally managed to get in after 4 failed attempts. The food is okay. Very expensive though for what you get. Guess you pay a premium tourist price. 2024: It's well known that it's nearly impossible to find seating here without reservations. We had something to celebrate, so we made sure to make a reservation a day in advance. Our reservation was confirmed and fine. We traveled to Cannon Beach for the day and 2 hours before our reservation time, The Wayfarer cancelled our reservation. No explanation given or anything. They simply cancelled it on their end. We were now forced to go to another restaurant and basically ended up with a blown celebration night. NOT HAPPY!!!

We actually didn't eat AT the restaurant, but got room service delivered from them to our room at Surfsand Resort. It was a great way to get some fancy food while getting to enjoy our nice room! The food was good, definitely loved the tuna and the risotto.

Google
The perfect brunch spot with a beautiful ocean view! You can even see the famous haystack rock. The chicken fried chicken wanted me up on a chilly fall day. My husband was happy with his biscuits and gravy too. I would not recommend this place for the coffee though, my cappuccino tasted burnt!

Just a group of Texas girls exploring Portland and attritions around it. We were very excited visit Cannon beach and very happy to find a restaurant with a great view along with access to the beach. Immediately, we were greeted by the host with a very welcoming attitude. Eric was our server, he was very attentive, fast and friendly. The food was very good as well, the clam chowder was our favorite and a good price. Beautiful view of the beach to top it all off. Thanks for helping make our trip to cannon beach even more memorable. - the Dallas girls

Yelp
Very friendly service, great view and quick out of the kitchen. The chicken fried chicken was flavorful and the steak and eggs were also good. The steak was tender and cooked appropriately. Hashbrowns were pretty basic. Great option for folks in the area. A bit pricey for what you're getting but I guess you're paying the "tax" on the view and location.

Yelp
The best breakfast I've had!!! My sister heard good things about this place so my mom, sister, daughter and I came here for breakfast on 6/14. The service here is impeccable. Our waiter was amazing, I forgot his name but. The other staff member who asked if we wanted water or refill of coffee, came back multiple times even when we said no. Normally at other places, once you say no, the staff member is never seen again. Our table was checked on multiple times. The food was great I had the smoked Salmon Benedict, my daughter and the half order old biscuits and gravy and it was soooo good! Both my mom and sister ordered the 2 egg breakfast. The food, atmosphere and the service is !!! This will be our breakfast spot every time we visit Cannon Beach.

Yelp
What a beautiful window view and great customer service. Although the Crab Baguette is advertised as the fan favorite, I wasn't impressed. For 36.00 you get a hard to chew baguette with crab and melted cheese. The chowder was OK as was the salad. I did enjoy my glass of wine. Will I be back? I did like the view. I am willing to give it another try.

Yelp
Wow, what an incredible experience! We stopped by during a transitional time between lunch and dinner, and they graciously accommodated us, allowing us to choose from both menus. The staff was exceptional, and our server indeed went above and beyond! The ambiance inside the restaurant was breathtaking, making it an ideal spot for a romantic date night, even with our daughter. The food was not only delicious but also bursting with flavor and incredibly fresh. This was a truly unforgettable experience for my family, and I enthusiastically encourage anyone to pay them a visit. I forgot to take pictures of my hubby's dinner. Oops!

Alycia J.

Yelp
KID FRIENDLY and breathtaking views. What more could you ask for during a meal. Service was stellar and extremely accommodating. My husband got the chicken and waffles and I got eggs florentine. We would most definitely get it again. We got off the menu butter pasta for our kiddo and also also a side of avocado and she loved it. View of Cannon Beach is gorgeous. Offers both indoor/ outdoor seating and bar area w/ a fireplace. Check was brought out with our asking but honestly as parents with kids we appreciate the expedited service !! Would 100% come again if we lived in the area !

Yelp
We just dropped by for a quick bite and drinks. Our server was extremely friendly and professional. We got sat by the booths so we had a great view of the beach. I would say the food is slightly overpriced for what you get but you are paying for the view

Yelp
The 1st time we ate here over a decade ago, it was a last minute somewhat reluctant choice, but we were so pleasantly surprised with the food and the atmosphere. Food (4 of 5) -- the Warm Dungeness Crab Baguette is delicious and the standout for us. The turkey ciabatta sandwich is a nice option as is the shrimp toast. There can be a bit of a hit and miss at the Wayfarer in terms of quality/consistency, which seems over the last few years to be getting more pronounced. If not for this, the food here would be closer to a solid 5. The desserts here used to be excellent (cobblers, interesting cakes), but have late have been more basic options like layered cakes, ice cream, bread pudding, etc. Atmosphere (mixed) -- outside with a lovely view of the ocean is wonderful. Inside, is okay but definitely more of a basic restaurant vide without much interesting character. Perhaps due to staffing reasons, the outside dining area has been closed more often the last few seasons even on lovely days. If that is the case, we just go elsewhere. Service (3) -- good people, but too few staff that seem to be stretched too thin. 10 years ago, Wayfarer was a sold 4 or 4.5 for us and a place we'd go sometime two or three times a season. We keep trying it here and there hoping that it will get back to what it was like before. Some visits are a hit, but too many are a miss given the other great options on the coast.

Jenni D.

Yelp
They should have a higher rating than they do. It's a small restaurant and fills up fast, so I recommend eating early or making reservations. The best seat is the two booths at the back of the restaurant, nice view of the ocean and Haystack. Their appetizers, wine and food is delicious, my only complaint is table bread and butter is $5.00. The oyster shooters have a spicy rim and excellent flavor, Crab broil is $50 a person yet you get half a crab, shrimp, clams, sausage and corn (too many onions). The wait staff is very friendly and attentive, I will be back next time we visit.

Yelp
What a wonderful experience my family had at the restaurant. Everything about the experience was pleasurable from the kind staff to the delicious crab omelette. We stopped here for breakfast after staying at Surf and Sand overnight. The restaurant was decked out in holiday decor and felt really cozy. The view of haystack rock from the restaurant is absolutely wonderful! I think the prices are fair for the area as it is touristy. They do offer a kids menu and they will happily work around any dietary restrictions you may have. Also they have onsite parking which can be hard to find in the Cannon Beach area. Will definitely stop by the next time we are in the area.

Debra B.

Yelp
Had a great lunch today on the sunny deck. The wind seemed to be blocked from the tucked in deck. The Purple Hazestack was refreshing and pretty. Also, the crab cocktail and a salad was delicious and nicely presented. Good service and icy cold water with a view.

Lila C.

Yelp
Calamari is great! Crunchy outside side juicy inside, perfectly cooked. Fish and chips are very nice, the fish tastes like tempura, not much batter outside, very good! Just too much fired lol. Clam chowder was just ok, little too salty. Beautiful view of the beach and the rock, cozy environment, good service, little pricy.

Frank B.

Yelp
Very Good All Around Midweek dining so it wasn't too crowded. That meant less tables for the servers and it reflected in our overall experience. The dishes were more or less typical coastal menu, fish, chicken, steak, vegetarian options were available. We had Mary's chicken, calamari, Caesar salad, and cauliflower "steak ". All was well prepared and tasty. Our server, Kelly, (I hope that's her name) was one of the most professional wait staff I have seen on the Oregon coast. If you can get a table with a view of haystack rock, you will be impressed. I would certainly return.

Amber W.

Yelp
This restaurant had great service. The food was okay but nothing stood out as extremely good. I tried the clam bake, which is a customer favorite. I prefer more flavor.

Mark M.

Yelp
Food, service, and ambience all 5/5! Our server (Sheamus) was helpful, accommodating, and made our family dinner an amazing experience.

Joel S.

Yelp
This restaurant is located just in front of the resort we went staying at. Had great breakfast and dinners there. The prices were very reasonable for the west coast. Coming from the Charlotte area we're pricing is much lower. The portions were very generous well prepared and tasty. The staff were very friendly and on point. I tried the Diver Clam plate and was amazed as the server told me they would be not what clams I would experience. These were like either a veal or chicken cutlets. Breakfast we had the three egg omelette they were great and plentiful. Service and food were excellent, we highly recommend this establishment. Five Stars all the way. The plus is the great view of the Haystack Rock on the Pacific Ocean.

Cyndi J.

Yelp
Receptionist desperately needs replaced it they want locals to frequent. She's rude and has a terrible attitude. 0/10. Won't be returning! 6/26/24

Haley F.

Yelp
The food is presented beautifully and delicious. The lunch time is slow and peaceful and we sat by the window. Unfortunately no knife's forks or napkins were on our table to eat the main dishes which included clams. We grabbed what we needed from the table next to us. Besides that, everything was wonderful!

Tim K.

Yelp
Wasn't expecting much from an establishment thats a combo hotel and a restaurant, but was pleasantly surprised. Sat outside on a rather cool August afternoon with a nice view of the ocean. The server provided some suggestions and did an excellent job taking care of us. It was strongly recommended to try the Dungeness crab. We were told they were fresh and fantastic. Spot on! Absolutely out of this world, fresh, not fishing, plenty of crab, super tasty, very nice portion on a toasted baguette roll. Even the basic french fries were solid and you get a bunch of those too. Couldn't have this kind of set up without enjoying a nice cocktail. Not a huge gin person but the gin, with blueberry was very good.

Maria S.

Yelp
Really terrific lunch here: great chowder and blackened salmon Caesar salad (fish was perfect). And the cappuccino wasn't bad either. Service was very efficient and friendly and, as others have noted, the view is fabulous. I'm a tough restaurant critic, and have no idea why this place doesn't have 4+ stars??? it compares really favorably with other places in CB that are higher rated (my salad here was just as good as the one I had at the Smokehouse the evening before). Also, it's just a great business--I left my credit card by mistake and the manager (also of the adjacent Surfsand Resort) helped me get it back using FedEx (saving me a 140 mile round trip, for which I'm very very grateful).

Darrin D.

Yelp
It was a cold rainy birthday night celebration. We were greeted by a friendly competent staff. Our party began with oyster shooters in cocktail sauce. The sauce overwhelmed the oysters (which were fresh and delicious). The clam chowder was a hit but the French onion soup disappointed. The broth lacked richness and the onions needed to be caramelized. The crab cakes were good but could have benefited from a good searing. My main dish was the filet mignon. Good job here. Perfectly cooked (medium rare) and served with green beans (undercooked) and mashed potatoes (needed a light gravy or sauce). Finally, a slice of chocolate cake was enjoyed. Overall, an adequate dinner that underwhelmed our taste buds.

Leticia P.

Yelp
First time in the area... absolutely amazing ! I highly recommend ! Awe-inspiring view, breathe taking even tho I'm from Hawaii ! Decided to have dinner here at Wayfarer .. right off the beach. Clam Chowder and ceviche were good; we saw the bread basket was $4 but then my daughter thought bread was included based on opening presentation. We ordered Salmon and filet; both excellent however I am not a huge fan of risotto. Even after our glass of wine and tasting tray of taps We still had room for dessert; - Haystack Heaven (mousse) and Ice cream sundae (Tillamook) - YUM ! If ever given the opportunity - this is a definite MUST ! They had lots of birthday celebrations but had room to take several walk ins including us. Great service by Kimber ! she was busy serving and bartender as well ! Good job !

Jeff S.

Yelp
I want to start by saying that my wife and I love the view from inside, also the service last night was the best we've ever had by far! Now time for the overpriced seafood......we've been here numerous times and the food has always been hit or miss. We started with crab cakes and clam chowder, the chowder was decent, the crab cakes were soft, tasteless and mushy. Very disappointing for the price. My wife had the halibut which was good and I had the razor clams which were not. No flavor and rubbery. This place has a lot going for it but unfortunately the food overall isn't it. But will keep trying.

Max L.

Yelp
Came here for my birthday dinner this last week on our road trip down the oregon coast.... Firstly the service is good, it's attentive and if you have any questions the staff is very knowledgeable. I never felt like we weren't taken care of and had everything we always needed. The fresh seafood was good but we made a few mistakes. The good - The food is delicious with fresh full crabs, a boil full of all the good stuff and the best caesar salad i've ever had (actually) The bad - The crab mac n cheese is unnecessary. It's a very mediocre and the crab is stringy just set on top and not that much too. 34 dollars is not worth when you can pay 45 for a full Dungeness crab that's way way better. Also, the cheese on the french onion soup tastes and even looks cheap, the onions weren't cooked all the way. Not trying to be this guy either but we made a birthday reservation, didn't even get a happy birthday from the host/manager and no birthday dessert or anything. My business didn't feel very appreciated spending my day with you folks. Overall not bad obviously, Good fresh seafood and good service but once you think about and peel back the layers a bit you realize it's not what i would've expected from such an experienced establishment.

Jon O.

Yelp
Good breakfast, okay dinner, and beautiful view of Haystack Rock. We came her for dinner first and it was hit and miss. My daughter's beer battered fish was a generous portion, but felt like it was mostly fries. My wife's seafood stew was overcooked and the portions were not very big. I started with the clam chowder which was rich and had lots of clams and potatoes, and then had the crab cakes appetizer for dinner. I didn't particularly enjoy how much ginger they put in there, but my daughter liked it, so personal preference. The next morning we had breakfast which was much better. My wife's egg benedict was really good with lots of hash browns, and my eggs and bacon were decent (toast was the best part). My daughter's scramble was loaded with sausage and onions, and came with a biscuit that was a tad heavy but still good. Service was welcoming, quick, and responsive. Recommend you make reservations for dinner as it filled up quickly on a Sunday night.

Karla C.

Yelp
I agree with another reviewer I saw and I don't get all the negative reviews of place. I just had had a great breakfast with Stephanie as my server. She went above and beyond talking me through the menu and making recommendations. I had the 2 egg breakfast so I could try the sourdough bread and bacon, both she recommended and she was spot on. They have marionberry freezer jam for your toast and it was so good I couldn't get enough. Coffee was good and my cup was never empty and Stephanie even offered to get me a to go cup when I was nearing the end of my meal. She brought fresh cream for it as well. This is a solid spot and Stephanie is a master at her craft and an asset there - I don't remember the last time I've had such great service.

Jeff C.

Yelp
Location 5 stars Service 5 stars Food was excellent. 4 people in our party. The crab cakes and chowder were amazing. Crab mac&cheese had tons of perfectly cooked crab piled high on top. Crab sandwich was very tasty and most people would say there is plenty of meat, but as a displaced Oregonian I always want more. Fish and chips were also very good. Excellent local beer/cider selection. A little over priced but it is a tourist town. Overall a very nice lunch

Buzzy B.

Yelp
We were staying at the attached hotel and tried it for breakfast. We were pleasantly surprised that the decor was so cozy- full of dark wood and large windows to enjoy the beach. Service started out slow considering there were only 3 tables but once we placed orders we received our drinks and food very quickly. I had the veggie hash- spinach, mushrooms and onions with over easy eggs. I cannot understand why restaurants add such large chunks of potatoes! Smaller pieces (and about 1/2 the amount) would be much better. He had pancakes which were very cool and dense. Not hot and fluffy like they should be. Will come back next time - maybe for drinks and apps in the cool looking bar.

Jacque H.

Yelp
Wayfarer is a family favorite when we are in Cannon Beach. The view is spectacular and it is next to the beach access so easy for a walk after dinner. The service is exceptional, they are top notch and you will want for nothing. The menu has a nice variety for everyone in the family including non seafood eaters and kids. I love their fish and chip or the crab cakes. Tonight I choose the clam chowder and crab cakes of course was not disappointed. You can tell they're freshly made on site. The Wayfarer just got a little facelift and I liked it. It lighten it up a bit inside but they keep the wood. It was a nice soft change, I feel was needed and well done. Refreshing but not in your face.

Jeff B.

Yelp
The food was better than average and the service was excellent. I guess with the prices it's what you would expect. Make reservations and ask for a seat by the windows. There are only four tables with a direct ocean view.

Ashley S.

Yelp
This place came highly recommended so my teen son and I tried it out on our recent trip. The vibe of the place is a little more upscale, great views of haystack rock and easy parking. Food and customer service was good. No complaints however we enjoyed the shrimp ceviche she bread service better than our chowder.

Trish T.

Yelp
My husband and I went here for dinner 3 nights ago. This restaurant has a beautiful view of the ocean & Haystack Rock. We went in at 8:20pm and someone walked us to a table in the bar area. I asked if we could sit in the other room & the man said all of those tables were for people with reservations. We saw some empty tables but did not push it. We sat down at a table, only one other couple was in there. The server was a woman with long, blond hair and she talked to the older couple for quite a long time. They were finishing up but it took her 20 min or so to come over & greet us. She was either talking to the older couple or she was behind the bar drinking one of her many cups of soda, talking to one of the bussers. We should have left but it was too late to go anywhere else. I get frustrated just typing this experience out so now I'm just going to "bullet point" what made it awful. - The older couple left so she finally came over to us. She took our order and left. - She forgot the bread after I asked if we could get that first. - she went back behind the bar and continued talking to the busser & drinking more soda. - She disappeared for 15 min. into the kitchen. - She came back with another refilled soda, then locked eyes with me & came over to ask I wanted more water. I asked her if I could please have my bread. She apologized & brought it later. - She eventually brought our food. - We watched her gossip, drink soda, & then reach her bare hand into a large olive container & a large lemon container to restock the smaller bar-top condiment containers at the bar. There were more but I couldn't see what they were. This makes me rethink ever getting a drink with garnish since it was disgusting to watch. - The busser came over once to refill our water. - She never came back to our table. The food was over priced and disappointing. My husband got a Cesar salad with Chicken and I got Halibut fish & chips. Really, just sub-par. My husband went to the restroom & when he came back he walked over to the bar to pay. I got up & went out to the reception desk & asked to speak with a manager. Out came a guy who asked if I was here to pick up a to-go order & when I said no, he asked what he could do. I explained some of our experience. He said he was sorry to hear that & looked shocked. Then, out came an older, blond woman who introduced herself as the manager. I explained everything about the experience and she apologized & asked if she could make it up to us by suggesting we come back the next day & sit in "better servers section." She said she had "a lot of servers who were better". We declined & told her we would never be eating there again. She did not offer to comp us, nor did we ask. Do not eat here. Overpriced, sub par food, terrible service.

Yelp
Positives: 1. Walking distance from where we're staying. 2. It has a picture-window view of Haystack Rock. 3. It has a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere. 4. Service was very friendly. 5. Host, when I asked for a window seat, he gave me two choices, and one we picked: his favorite spot! (I felt like sitting on a thrown, for tonight was my special night!) 6. The price of the entree might seem high until you realized that the portion was very large. We both took away enough meal the next day! 7. Our waiter can memorize all what people in each table, whether there's two or 6 or 3 tables, without writing them down! SMART! Negatives: 1. Oregon Dungeness Crab is famous here in Oregon, delicious without anything, but better if used a cocktail without DROWNING out the flavor using horseradish sauce! When I say 'drowning', the sauce is fully coated, and drowning the crab! All you can taste is the horseradish, and yes you can see there are lots of crab there. 2. They must love horseradish here, because it also ruined the flavor of the risotto that accompanied my grilled salmon.

Jill G.

Yelp
Although the view is very nice, we found the dinner food marginal for the price. The blackberry mojito was bland and disappointing. The bartender came to our table and was very defensive about it and did not offer to improve it. The halibut dish was swimming in a sauce that had separated and the vegetables were mushy and tasteless. It was sent back to the chef, who prepared a new halibut dish with new lobster sauce was very salty. The crab cakes were good, but the accompanying vegetables were unimpressive. We usually don't post negative reviews, but this was a pricey and disappointing dinner.

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Yum, I really enjoyed this place! They have a good selection of beers as well as cocktails. We shared the clams and burrata, both were tasty. We also had the chicken fried oysters. I'm definitely not an oyster lover but this was tasty! I liked the chorizo in the clams and the strawberries in the burrata. I had the seafood stew, it was pretty tasty. It had a lot of fish in it although the soup itself could have used more flavor. I sampled the pork shoulder (yum!) Abe the clam bake, loads of seafood! I'd definitely recommend this stop in Cannon Beach!

Mar K.

Yelp
I said, at the bar where Kimber was an exceptionally attentive, bartender/server. She understood I needed to have a liquid only/no solids meal. I wound up ordering both soups, because the first soup I tried, the spring onion soup, which was a take on their French onion soup without either the croutons or the cheese, was so incredibly flavorful. The spring fish stew could not have been more delicious. Even without the hunks of salmon and halibut, the blend of fish stock plus leeks, etc. made for a perfect liquid meal. Typically when I have dined here in years past, I've tried the Tomahawk steak and the Benedicts for breakfasts, and they are very good. But these soups exceeded all expectations. Also, the ambience in the bar is wonderful. Very comfortable when solo dining.

Katie M.

Yelp
Had such a great breakfast here, and you can't beat the view! The portions were big and it was super reasonably priced. The service was awesome, everyone we interacted with was super rad! Will definitely be back!

Becca A.

Yelp
The food is amazing and fresh. Clam chowder is the best I've ever had. The booth with window seating gave a great view to Cannon Beach and the Pacific Ocean. The waiter was super attentive and friendly. A clean place that was spacious and just a great place to get dinner.

Bill J.

Yelp
A lovely spot on the beach near Haystack Rock in continuous operation for over forty years. Great view, staff is competent and service is prompt. I understand market prices on seafood are always high. If I need razor clams or Dungeness crab I know I'll shell it out. I'm psycho for razors. But these were way overbreaded, and I believe it was so they'd be large enough to get by with serving only two. $37 I'm pretty sure they were fresh, so it still tasted good, but that breading should be light.

Maureen C.

Yelp
We had breakfast on a slow rainy Friday. Our service was friendly and amazing! As it was a special occasion we enjoyed delicious cocktails and the Eggs Benedict and Cinnamon Roll French Toast were out of this world!! Highly recommend!!!

Kayla E.

Yelp
For the view alone, this restaurant deserves 5 stars. If you are lucky, you'll get a seat next to the window (they have 4 or 5 booths directly on the window). If not, visibility is generally pretty good from most parts of the restaurant!! As you can see from my photo, we did not have a window booth but the view was excellent. Note we did look at many other restaurants in the main town area, but they cost just as much and had no view. Overall this restaurant was very upscale for the prices. MAKE A RESERVATION!!!! We did NOT... they accept some walk ins, but PLEASE note walk ins are only accepted until 7pm!!! I would strongly encourage making a reservation in advanced, and requesting a booth by the window!!. The food was very good, we had the bread basket (bread is extra, but not too much), and I had a Caesar salad with the vegetable Mac & cheese. I will say, for one person that was more than enough food. I finished the salad but only ate probably 1/3 of the macaroni & cheese at most. I was really impressed by the portion sizes, a lot of times nicer restaurants charge more but skimp on the serving sizes and this restaurant did NOT do that. Everything I had was delicious; I would absolutely return and order it again! But maybe split the Mac and cheese.., also note many restaurants charge for shared plates in the canon beach area - I am unsure if that is the case here, as I did not share anything, but I suspect that might be the case. Just something to be aware of!! Overall, the food was excellent, the service was pleasant, and the view was outstanding! I would absolutely recommend this restaurant and would return. It is a little outside of the main area, but close to many of the local hotels and accommodations. I have been going to canon beach all my life, and would strongly suggest getting a few blocks out of the downtown area and enjoying the epic view! Oh, and last thing, the restaurant is on the beach (indoor and outdoor seating) so there is excellent beach access if you're going to, or leaving, the beach!

Yelp
Beautiful views, great service! We had the two different clam chowders and let me tell you, they were amazing. The clams were not sandy or dry. Whatever they used, tasted fresh. The crab cakes we had, tasted like they used real crab! So so good. I usually would never eat crab cakes but this was a perfect dish! We also had the tea towards the end and it was brought out with lemons and honey. So good on a cold day. *some are writing about the bathrooms, They were clean just one toilet was clogged lol but honestly everywhere is short staff and I'm sure they don't serve and clean the toilet in between. They looked really busy and did a good job. We paid around $60 for two people. Which is insane, but that's the coast for you and the views can't be beat.

Yelp
We've been to the Wayfarer a couple of times now across different trips. To their credit, they are pretty consistent. Even better, I recognized wait staff from our prior visit. That bodes well to the management team. Most at our table enjoyed their food. There was some head scratching about a salad dressing choice and a well done piece of halibut, but overall our party was pretty pleased. I got fish and chips and you could tell they are scratch making the food. There halibut filets were generous, properly coated and fried. My French fries were crispy and well seasoned. We would certainly go back again. Even though our group was too big to fit in the berths by the window overlooking the Haystack, it was still nice to see it out the window. Seafood well, my friends.

Yelp
This is a must place for the view of Haystack Rock and the haystack desert. We didn't have the best table and it still felt like the rock was right outside the window. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The clam chowder was thicker than I like and wouldn't get again. On the other hand, the crispy pork shoulder was delicious. There are no words for the dessert other than it's a must!

Yelp
For our 10 year anniversary. We were very pleased. We had the signature dish, Wayfarer Clam Bake was bomb! Also had crab cakes and clam chowder. All was top notch. We'll have to come again.

Yelp
I had the Dungeness Crab Omelet, and it had to be the best I ever had, and at 69, I've had a lot. Once we were seated, the service was friendly, and informative. My wife had the Veggie Hash and she was very satisfied as well. Of course the view is unmatched in town at a restaurant. Kudos to our server Cristian!

Yelp
Overall, the Wayfarer is a good spot. The views are unmatched! And it's good that the views are so good, because the service is a bit slow. We waited roughly 20 minutes to even be greeted/get waters. The restaurant wasn't full or anything. That said, once the waitress did come, she was very good and helpful. The cocktails were great! And they did comp us a drink that took a while to come out. We had the burrata appetizer, which doesn't come with bread, which is odd but with the order of bread it was very good. I got the pork shoulder. It was very crispy and delicious on the outside, a bit dry inside. The polenta was tasty. Overall a good dish. My partner got the clam bake and that was phenomenal! I would recommend it as long as you've got some time.

Yelp
Great service at The Wayfarer. We got in early for dinner and got a table with a view to the rock. Everything we ordered are excellent! The pork shoulder is flavorful and tender; and polenta underneath is so creamy! Clam is fresh and cooked just right. Both clam and pulled pork poutine are from starter menu, but the portion is big enough to be an entree. Enjoyable dinner after a long walk on the cold and windy beach.

Yelp
We made reservations here a few weeks in advance of our visit to Cannon Beach and requested a window table. They gave us a great table with a view of Haystack Rock and the sunset. We all got the Wayfarer Clambake - clams, prawns, clams, andouille sausage and potatoes. It was fabulous! We split a couple desserts and they were also great.

Yelp
Exceeded my expectations. After reviewing the Yelp Reviews my fiancé and I decided to try this restaurant on a whim. I ordered the clambake which was $50 although the amount of food you get can easily be split in between two people. It was flavorful, tender and delicious. Service was quick and prompt . No complaints

Yelp
Clam Chowder is BOMB! Love the clam chowder and how it's very close to Cannon Beach. The restaurant has a great view and direct access to the beach which is very nice. Host and service sucked though.
