Mapping Nashville Restaurants That Sell Groceries During the Coronavirus Outbreak | Eater Nashville

"The Well has closed all locations except that in Brentwood, which is open daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. for curbside pick-up (order and pay online here) or free delivery via Postmates and Uber Eats. Beyond hot and cold coffee options, they have plenty of breakfast and lunch options plus limited grocery items like milk, sourdough bread, and bagels." - Delia Jo Ramsey

I love the mission of The Well Coffeehouse! They “turn coffee into water”. They are a non profit that uses there platform to help provide clean drinking water to other countries that don’t have the access to clean water. We had a very good meal there too! Unfortunately, I failed to take pictures before we started eating. The one picture is a breakfast burrito. Sweet potatoes, bacon, egg and cheese. The other picture is a Brunch Bowl. Scrambled eggs, bacon, arugula on a bed or roasted sweet potatoes. Can’t wait to return when back in the Nashville area.

Was in the area and needed a coffee and some breakfast. Coffee is great as so was my sandwich. The place was very busy but I was in and out under 10 minutes. There is also out door seating.

Leah Fletcher

Google
Great place to catch up with friends. The atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming. The bagel I ordered was delicious. I’m not much of a coffee drinker, luckily their tea was nice too.

Steve Hernandez

Google
Ordered Build your own breakfast bagel with with eggs, bacon and cheese, no avocado was available. The bagel was old and tasted horrible. That really makes or breaks the meal.

Google
What a great spot! I met a friend here for breakfast and coffee, and this is definitely a place I'll return. The space is beautiful! The windows let in a ton of light, and they balanced this with a beautiful grey and dark wood tones. It's a simple but really lovely space. The staff were helpful and very nice. Our orders were delivered quickly (we ordered and ate and then ordered more coffees 😂) and correctly. Our food was beautiful! And my latte was as well. I brought home half of my Eden bowl, too, which was quite delicious. 2 GF breakfast options (without any alterations needed) plus the ability to get GF bread is always a plus! I haven't looked into it, but a newspaper clipping in the bathroom mentioned it as a nonprofit? That's pretty cool. They also have a wall on which you can place a wish and a donation bin for winter items, so the nonprofit tracks. The prices are incredibly affordable considering the area, too.

Google
Service slow because of crowd: full of office workers because of its location. Food was good, coffee meh. Recommend a bowl. Atmosphere pleasant but on the sterile side — spruced up decor going for the hip look. Coolest feature is the “Wishing Well”.

Alex Yates

Google
Nice place; seems like a very popular spot! The coffee I got was just okay though and it took more than 10 minutes to get a pour over. Price was good ($6 for the mentioned pour over). Lots of folks working on their laptops and couples on dates. Very cute!

Google
This is my third Well Coffeehouse visit and third different location I've visited. The baristas were jamming out; taking orders, pulling shots, stackin' tulips. The coffee is always great; some pour over offerings, two options for drip, and traditionally sized espresso based beverages. I love a good specialty cafè and The Well Coffeehouse seems to be a spot that no matter which location I hit up, they meet the mark.

Yelp
I've now visited The Well for a coffee in store, placed a pickup order, and ordered delivery, In all three experiences, my order was delicious and my food was ready quickly! While the coffee is the star of the menu, you really can't go wrong with anything from the kitchen. The Athena is my favorite! While many breakfast foods are heavy, the feta, spinach, and tomato balance out the bacon and eggs for the perfect breakfast burrito. The decor is cozy and welcoming, and the staff is always great - you need to visit The Well soon!

Yelp
My wife and specifically wanted to go to this location of The Well Coffeehouse. Simply because of listening to Sirius XM The Message. I believe that this location is where Acoustic Story Time w/ Jason Gray is produced and recorded. Anyway, that is what lead us to this establishment for breakfast. (Sorry for the 1/2 serving pics...forgot. I was ready to dive in!) I had the Brunch Bowl (Scrambled eggs, bacon (or sausage), avocado, arugula and cube sweet potatoes. My wife had the Daybreak which is a burrito with scrambled eggs, bacon, sweet potato, Colby Jack cheese and hot sauce. It almost appeared like a sandwich with the panini marks on it!! The light roast coffee Americano was really good. They have plenty of a selection for what roast you prefer. We got the unlimited for about $1.50 extra per person. The place at 10am on Thursday was hoppin'. There were business persons getting a coffee, or pastry, bagel or other food choices to go. There was only one table available when we arrived. There is plenty of seating too! The patrons looked like they enjoyed very much being there. The staff and baristas were very pleasant and wanted to serve. As an aside, The Well Coffeehouse is a nonprofit organization. Their motto is that they "turn coffee into water". They help provide clean water to underserved people. Yelp
I spent a random Thursday morning working here. A lot of other people around me were doing the same thing I got a seasonal latte and a bagel with cream cheese for under $15; The bathrooms were really clean well stocked and spacious. I was connected to The WiFi and worked on projects remotely for four hours with no issues. I'd go back for the ambiance.

Yelp
Great service. Ambiance is bright & airy. This is the biggest coffee shop I've been to, as of late, and I love how spacious it is. It was very calm; busy, but not in an overwhelming way. Gluten-free cookie was tasty & the main event, the coffee was good as well. Nice cuban. Will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
YUM, YUM, YUM!!!! Got the daybreak burrito with sausage and chipotle aioli on the side + a seasonal Cuban. The drink took a bit to come out, but they were busy-and I see why-Everything was delicious and worth the small wait. Could've been because I was super hungry, but this burrito hit the spot. I would love to come back again for more! There's some pistachio chocolate chip cookies calling my name for next time. So glad I tried The Well. Thanks to the kind staff too-Audrey was really nice.

Yelp
It was a bit busy when I went. I believe I got the drip coffee with dark chocolate and apple hints. Not my favorite.

Yelp
Needing a little afternoon pick-me-up, we made our way to the Well Coffeehouse. It was one of our last stops in town before catching a flight back home, but was everything we hoped it would be. I opted for one of their seasonal beverages-a peppermint mocha made with oat milk, while my husband ordered a different seasonal latte called Santa's pub. Both of us appreciated the quality of coffee bean that they used to make our beverages and that neither of the drinks was overly sweet. For me personally, while we waited for our beverages, I really appreciated the community wall where members of the community who needed something in terms of support or uplifting could leave a note, where other community members could offer guidance or help. A very cool concept that I wish was more widespread. If I was a local, I would definitely support this awesome coffee shop.

Yelp
I came here on a recommendation from a friend who lives in the area. The vibes were great! I was a little sad I wasn't able to try their special fall mocha, because they were out of part of it, but the regular mocha I got was still really good, and very light! Definitely will come back if I'm in the area!

Yelp
Overall, I typically love The Well, and this was my first time visiting the Brentwood location. When I arrived, I noticed there wasn't any water set out, which is totally fine, I went to ask for some. I was told they only had tap water available for self-serve. I mentioned this to a team member, who I believe was named Brooke (she had short blonde hair), but she seemed a bit annoyed by the request. She proceeded to grab a cup that appeared to have been used, it had writing on it, which made me uncomfortable. I'm not sure if it was actually used, but regardless, customers should always be given a brand-new cup. Since I'm a bit shy, I didn't say anything at the time. I just threw the cup away and left. I have included a photo on my account.

Yelp
There is a free parking structure behind the building just for retail parking for this whole area. The interior is very spacious and has a lot of tables and seating.

Yelp
Such a great company! I didn't find out until much later that they do a lot of mission work and donate to communities internationally in South America, Africa and India. To be honest , the only reason why I looked up the "The Well Coffeehouse" was because I needed to write this Yelp review on the "Figgy Fog" seasonal special to make sure I actually ordered coffee. As suspected after the first sip in my car.. I ordered a tea latte lol not coffee! But! The Figgy Fog was such a treat. Fig and pear tea with oat milk, more specifically. It was raining out side and I count have asked for a better drink in a cold rainy day! I also ordered the blueberry muffin , gluten free. I love gluten; I have zero dietary restrictions. Yet, my experience is that I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious that muffin is. It's not moist of course, but it's not bad at all!

Yelp
Such a great coffeeshop here in town. I love their mission behind the shop and the coffee and food is always great. I love trying out their seasonal options when they come around too. This is a great location to catch up with friends or for your lunch break. It's open and there's lots of seating. Always recommend to anyone in town.

Yelp
I went here after church to meet with a couple of sisters. I was pleasantly surprised that the food was so delicious! I've heard of this coffee shop because, the owners are Christians and the ambiance was peaceful. The service was quick! It's a great place to have conversations and catch up with loved ones ! I would love to visit again !

Yelp
This coffee shop has a nice variety of drinks and food. I got lunch here the other day, and it was delicious! It's a good place to grab a coffee or a bite to eat...if you can find parking!

Yelp
Their s'mores latte is very good! A must try before the season is over. Nice employees. Just wish it wasn't so overcrowded inside & more seating was available. Other than that, everything else was great!

Ella J.

Yelp
BOMB BAGEL! I had a bite of my friends bagel and I just had to get my own. The lady who took my order was also so sweet and had such a warm aura to her. The ambiance is chil with light music in the background, I studied for my exams here and I thought it was really nice. Will come back!

Yelp
My got to spot when I'm working in the Brentwood office. Coffee is great and consistently made to order. Breakfast sandwiches are cooked fresh and they offer everything from avacado toast to a breakfast burrito with sweet potatoes, bacon, egg and cheese. Service is always fast and friendly. Great place to stop in a grab something to go or you can sit and work for a bit.

Yelp
I love the Well. I try to go to different locations when an errand brings me into a different neighborhood and so far, I've been pleased at all of them. I had the seasonal salad, which was tasty and fresh. Gluten free options are clearly marked on the menu. But the real star of the show at the well is always the coffee- whether I order a pour over or a drip, it's always excellent quality. The kind of stuff you want to drink black or with just a touch of cream. At this visit, I went for the Christmas blend drip, and what a delight it was! Molasses notes gave it a festive feel. When I went, on a Friday at lunch hour, I was surrounded by laptop workers, families, and friends meeting for lunch or enjoying the atmosphere and great joe. It was pretty packed, but in a pleasant way. I found a sunny seat near the window and browsed my e-book while I waited on the salad- you order at the counter but the staff will bring your food to you. As always, I like supporting the mission of the Well which is to bring access to safe water to developing nations. And they develop partnerships with growers and roasters for their beans.

Yelp
The Well is one of my favorite coffeehouses in Nashville, and I don't even drink coffee. Their chai tea latte is my go-to and is delicious, along with everything on their small but perfectly curated food menu. This location gets extra kudos from me as I can walk here. The line gets a little crazy in the morning but if you play the timing right you never have to wait. Staff is the best and I love the vibe inside. Lots of great outdoor seats as well!
google avatar

Estevan C.

Yelp
The coffee at The Well Coffeehouse was great, and the people serving you at the counter were very friendly, however, if you are looking for a place to enjoy a quiet cup of coffee and work on personal things or read a book, this is not the place for you to go. It is often crowded and loud, which makes it a great spot to hang with friends or have a group meeting, just not chill.

Dylan H.

Yelp
Be cautious about eating here!!!!!!! Got the Daybreak wrap and I have been sick all day. Painful trips to the bathroom. Either their food was tainted or they have ingredients they are not disclosing.
google avatar

Mallory B.

Yelp
Can't go wrong with any of their coffee especially the specials. And their baked good are to die to for. Work in the building nearby and walk to this coffee at least once a week. Highly recommended.
google avatar

Chris T.

Yelp
Try the Cuban! Amazing! Very cool spot tucked away for a nice and laid back atmosphere!
google avatar

Laura H.

Yelp
This place has me wanting to go back for more! We came to visit and husband found a gem with this place! From the coffee to the food everything was phenomenal. I got there sweet potatoe bowl and husband got the burrito I believe and both were healthy and so filling but most importantly yummy! I would recommend this place to someone wanting a lightweight healthy breakfast and great spot to hangout.

Yelp
This was my second coffee shop that I visited on my trip to Nashville and it was by far the best. The shop was very busy, but the baristas were quick and friendly. This definitely seemed to be a popular local spot as every table and couch was filled with students, church goers and families. The menu was somewhat brief, however had good options. I asked the barista about their chai latte as I am a bit particular and she recommended adding additional cinnamon to the top to amp up the spice. I went with her recommendation and while it wasn't the best chai I've had, it had good flavor. There was a subtle spice, it honestly reminded me of cinnamon spice oatmeal, in a good way.

Yelp
Met some coworkers early on Saturday morning for some testing we needed to complete... Most importantly in our scenario was the internet since we were completing timed test. it worked smoothly no issues of kicking any of us or being slow. They also supplied multiple outlets along the wall for us to plug in.. We had no issues with finding a table getting there earlier but we were there for a couple of hours and it definitely got busy.. Service was kind and good.. I prefer when they bring you your food/drinks to the table instead of calling out names... they had a limited food menu but it was nice to see some alternative stuff, such as the brunch bowl that was loaded with sweet potatoes and arugula and had an egg 2 slices of bacon and maybe 1/3 avocado... very delicious and highly recommend ... one of my coworkers had this breakfast wrap that had sweet potatoes as well... the coffee looked good but I only got a cold brew so I can't speak to much on the coffee No complaints from our visit

Yelp
Such a great coffee experience. I love grabbing an iced latte and breakfast bagel before sitting at one of the outside tables. Great atmosphere, nice staff, and food and drinks are great.

Yelp
This was a really cool coffee shop that I found during my trip to Nashville/Brentwood. This great coffee shop is located in Brentwood near the Springhill Suites that we stayed at this past weekend. I enjoy seeking out all the local coffee shops to support their business. I had a drip cup of coffee that was an Ethiopian blend. Good flavor and beans were available. Also ordered a cappuccino and vanilla latte for my family. Everyone enjoyed their coffees to go. Cool vibe from the other patrons and the staff were very nice. The place was pretty busy for ten o'clock in the morning. Looked like a lot of business people and college students working on projects and studies inside. Will be back if I am in the Nashville area again.

Yelp
Last week I came to this coffee shop and ordered one of their seasonal drinks, autumn in centennial park. It comes with white chocolate as well as blood orange and walnut syrup. I ordered it without the white chocolate and they made it for me no problem. This week I came back and ordered the same thing, but they refused to make it like that. The person at the register informed me that they're not allowed to leave out the white chocolate. She offered to make it with half the amount of white chocolate. I clarified... So you can leave out half the white chocolate but not all of it? She confirmed that this was true. This makes absolutely no sense to me. I'm about to pay you seven bucks for a coffee and you can't leave something out?! What I'm ordering would actually be cheaper and easier to make but they refused to do it.
google avatar

Tim G.

Yelp
Excellent coffee and some good food options. The space is very open with lots of light. It can get a bit busy and loud, so if you're looking for a tranquil place to relax with a cup of coffee this may not be your place. But if you don't mind background noise from lots of people chatting, this is a cool place to hang out. The service is friendly and the coffee is excellent. I had the avocado toast, which was very good. It comes with a light spread of cream cheese on it, which I've never seen with avocado toast. But it added a nice taste and texture! And the avocado was perfectly ripe and the bread was very good. Oh, and they have free WiFi that is pretty fast! It tested at 78 Mbps download speed for me.
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
Stopped in to this location before some hockey. Middle afternoon, the nice and spacious location had plenty of places to spread out and read or plug your laptop in which I always appreciate in a coffeehouse. The pour over coffee was brought to the table with a carafe and cup which was a nice touch. Service was friendly and provided recommendations and the coffee has always been good at The Well.
google avatar

Nate M.

Yelp
I love both Well Coffeehouse locations, but I think I like the downtown spot a tad better. More spaces to sit and stronger wifi. I got a cold brew and went to work on my laptop. The cold brew was good, but tasted watered down like it was maybe a day or two old? They do offer a handful of food options and those festive holiday focused drinks right now! This venue is great for working, but it does get loud in here with all the conversations and the in-house music. Need silence, They have a sound proof working booth with a stool and laptop shelf if you need to hop on the phone. I wanted to try it, but it was occupied during my visit. The parking here is awesome! There's a huge garage right behind the venue with a ton of free parking with an on duty security guard.

Lee S.

Yelp
Understaffed in the morning...baristas tend to have bad attitude. Like take it or leave it.
google avatar

Rachel G.

Yelp
I have popped in a few times, but haven't had the chance to sit and enjoy this open space. You can feel the creativity in this spot! I have only ever tried the Cuban (twice) it is absolutely Devine! I also spotted in for the Valentine edition for the Cherry Cuban. A bit to sweet for my taste, but I finished it! Love what this place stands for. Semi friendly staff, but overall great experience for order and go!
google avatar

Karen N.

Yelp
Stopped in because it was the closest coffee house to our hotel, besides Panera. This was an absolute great find. As soon as we walked the vibe is cool, unassuming and downright nice. They had so many great options, and I opted for an iced lavender coffee with blackberry cream. My ideal coffee is one that does not require sugar or sweetener and the flavor is based on the coffee and how it is prepated. This was my far the best coffee I have had in a long time. I wish they had more locations because the best part is they are coffee with a purpose. They are a a missional coffee shop focused on giving back and focused on sustainable solutions to poverty. Please read about their mission and support them.
google avatar

Leslie M.

Yelp
Nice coffee, friendly staff, busy atmosphere! You can tell it's definitely a neighborhood favorite for people to meet over a nice latte.
google avatar

Trudy C.

Yelp
I found my new favorite coffee shop away from home Great atmosphere, great service, great coffee and perfect location for me! I tried both their Peach Bourbon and the Lavender Latte in one day, so glad I did. My customer is nearby and I will be making as many trips to this place as my engagement allows!! Ill be going again and again. Also tried their new seasonal cold drink...forgot what its called but its delicious and it comes in a cute little glass.
google avatar

Cindy B.

Yelp
Wonderful pour over options in a clean, relaxing atmosphere. Need a better selection of muffins for breakfast though.
google avatar

Carolyn S.

Yelp
What a great coffee stop we had yesterday morning. Our lattes were absolutely phenomenal. Thank you for the Oat Milk tip, clearly we enjoyed the service and customer engagement too!
google avatar

Mae D.

Yelp
Honestly, this was probably the best latte I've had! Very nice coffee shop. Spacious. Internet was strong. Lots of tables.
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
This place is awesome I had a great doppio, and then enjoyed a really creative take on a breakfast burrito--one of the best I've had in a while from memory. It's a great spot to connect with people or your heart. Totally worth the pit stop if your traveling on 65 (it's just a quick trip If you're heading towards Nashville). I highly recommend it

Amber D.

Yelp
The place was understaffed. The barista was overwhelmed and a 1 man show. He didn't get our order right, but I don't blame him with how busy it was for him to be on his own. They didn't have enough cold brew for all our orders. They also didn't have any sugar free options. Won't be returning.
google avatar

Yelp
There were things I liked about the Well and some things that I felt could be better. Here's explaining my rating of 3 stars: 1 Star for the great coffee drink. I ordered an iced "here it is" off of their seasonal specialty menu. This was basically a pumpkin spiced latte. I think it would've been better hot, but I came here on a 90 degree day 1 Star for their mission. They help provide clean water in other countries like Africa (thus, their name of the well) so you can feel good about supporting a business who has a great mission 1 Star for the clean, presentable atmosphere. There are plenty of tables and natural light. It is decorated nicely as well They would get 2 more stars for better service (employee was not very friendly or nice) and more competitive prices (I paid over $6 for my coffee and didn't request any substitutions...that's a bit steep even for Nashville standards). Although the atmosphere is nice it's also not somewhere I would hang out. Even on a Thursday morning every single table had someone at it so I had to sit at a bar area, watch was not as comfortable. It was loud and I'm not sure how people come here to work!

Dennis C.

Yelp
Fun time at Jason Gray acoustic live recording for the Message. Goo coffee and great staff.

Ella S.

Yelp
Got a latte with white chocolate mocha and it was good! Service was great, staff is super nice!

Jason M.

Yelp
Whoever was working on 8/31/23 (a girl with glasses) made me feel very uncomfortable about a mistake I made by entering an incorrect amount when tipping. (It was more than the item I ordered.) Great place but this experience left a bad taste in my mouth.
google avatar

Luke W.

Yelp
The Well has it going on! After many other coffee spots, lots of money, and attempts trying to convince one of my friends that coffee is a magical beverage without any success, it was this place that he saw the light! The specialty beverages here are out of this world - I would love this place to take over the world as the coffee chain! Being my second visit and able to try different seasonal beverages, it is safe to say the consistency is on point here making The Well the greatest coffee chain I've been to. The menu game here is winning over many small independent places too! For the bean brews, there are few better options.
google avatar

Laila A.

Yelp
It's hit or miss. We had Cuban coffees delivered a month ago and they were amazing. I went in the other day for a couple of cortados and it was the worst tasting thing I've ever had. The lady said they change the beans every couple of weeks, they should consider having more than one bean to make espresso with, bc I wasted $10 on two drinks on something that was sour and burnt and rancid tasting. I will say that the lady offered to make me something different, it wouldn't have made a difference bc the espresso beans would have been the same.
google avatar

Jo C.

Yelp
We love The Well and their mission especially!! Definitely a fan of their seasonal flavors, too -- John Gardener in the spring, and Black Cat in the fall!
