"At this smart cream pub they have their own herb and vegetable beds, keep sheep, pigs, chickens and bees, and source the rest of their meats from within 20 miles. Menus feature 6 dishes per course – supplemented by a selection of specials – and cooking is generous and satisfying. Smart, rustic bedrooms come with slate floors, sheepskin rugs and big, comfy beds." - Michelin Inspector

The pub is quite cosy. The decor is nice with art work and quality of the soft furnishings is second to none. Now the food, is absolutely outstanding! Even morsel was delicious. The quality of the food, the freshness of the food, the presentation of tge food and the flavours were fabulous. This is a special place, I would love to go more often but it's on the more expensive side. Worth it, but a weekly visit just isn't possible at this point. Good food is very important to me and I loved every dish and every mouthful.

Once again The Wellington Arms, Baughurst lived up to and exceeded expectations. Really cannot fault this place. Wonderful flavoursome food, superb choice of wine and other drinks, friendly, attentive and warm staff. Simon and Jason have created a truly remarkable gastropub and I cannot believe they have been running this place for 20 years now and hopefully they will be here in another 20 years! We'll be back sooner rather than later. Simply one of the best places to eat.

Excellent service, fabulous cocktails and brilliant menu. I really enjoyed my meal...and a taste of everyone else's 😋 My only gripe was my steak. It was cooked to perfection but was too fatty for a ribeye and a little gristly. I believe the meat is all from the excellent Vicars in Ashampstead, where I often buy my meat. I suspect I was just unlucky. Would definitely recommend.

This pub is a food heaven. The choice ranged from traditional food you might expect in a restaurant pub to quite unusual and inspired dishes. Service was attentive and appropriate. There are a lot of tables in a small space so did feel a little crowded. So if you want to eat very well and expect to pay for good food this is worth a visit.

Simon & Jason are celebrating 20 years since they opened the Wellington Arms & it's packed every day when open with regulars & new 'word of mouth' clients. 10 out of 10 for quality of food, service, atmosphere & beautiful garden & surroundings. Great menu & daily dishes that made it difficult to choose. I had the 2xbaked cheese souffle stacked with a mountain of finely grated parmesan & my friend had scallops (both simply the best) followed by perfectly cooked calves liver on a bed of mashed potato & leeks with pancetta & perfect mix of herbs then their home-made ice cream.

This is by far the best Resturant within miles, superb old but new Resturant building in wonderful English gardens. Every special occasion and more with friends we come here to be garunted a warm welcome and amazing home cooked traditional food, celiacs as well for my daughter. Chairs are a bit hard but cushions available. We have travelled lots eat everywhere so know a thing and this is really worth lunch or supper but book!

We ate here for my husband’s birthday and were hugely impressed! The building itself and the gardens are so pretty and the food absolutely delicious. The price was a little higher than most pub restaurants but was totally expected given the quality. We’ve very excited that we’re moving a few minutes away and this will be our local! There will be many more visits ☺️

Yelp
Just finished a 3 night stay at The Wellington Arms over Easter. We absolutely loved it - enough to extend our visit an extra night. We stayed in the Hayloft which was immaculately clean and perfectly serene. The minibar was perfectly thought out, the bathroom was gorgeous, the loft was a super fun little nook to sit and peruse the countless cookbooks filling the library, the interior was simple yet warm. It really felt like staying in your super stylish friend's guest house. The pup was welcomed with all sorts of treats (bones, chew sticks and a big bowl of water). The restaurant was perfect. After 3 breakfasts, 3 dinner and 2 lunches, we pretty much tried everything on the menu and couldn't criticize a thing. We pretty much spent the weekend eating wonderful food, exploring beautiful local villages and strolling the local Hampshire countryside. Simon was very welcoming and offered lovely suggestions for walks and sight seeing. The rest of the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I honestly can't think of anything that could have made our stay at The Wellington Arms any better. We will be back again very soon.

Yelp
This is not so much a pub as a top quality fine dining restaurant. Have been many times since first opening and have happily parted with every penny, consistantly excellent food cooked to perfection by Aussie chef Jason and front of house managed with aplomb by Simon. I could wax on and on lyrical here but I wont, don't listen to me, read the proffessional reviews. So it's a bit small, I've heard people say it's a little pricey which is utter rot, find anywhere better locally and I'll eat my hat. Can't recommend the Wellington enough, a true hidden gem.
