"At this smart cream pub they have their own herb and vegetable beds, keep sheep, pigs, chickens and bees, and source the rest of their meats from within 20 miles. Menus feature 6 dishes per course – supplemented by a selection of specials – and cooking is generous and satisfying. Smart, rustic bedrooms come with slate floors, sheepskin rugs and big, comfy beds." - Michelin Inspector

We ate here for my husband’s birthday and were hugely impressed! The building itself and the gardens are so pretty and the food absolutely delicious. The price was a little higher than most pub restaurants but was totally expected given the quality. We’ve very excited that we’re moving a few minutes away and this will be our local! There will be many more visits ☺️

Excellent food and service in this cosy place. Nice, interesting menu. Opted for the Wellington Royale for a lovely bit of fizz to start the evening before scallops, potpie and chocolate tart. Thanks for a lovely evening!

Fantastic eatery with exquisite food, friendly & attentive staff and an excellent wine menu 🍷 ! Not pictured is the delicious rib eye that didn’t last long after being placed in front of me! 🥩 I had the chorizo “nibble”-sized appetiser, followed by the baked potato gnocchi (so so good!), steak and sticky toffee pudding (which I wish I had shared with someone after all that!). Would highly recommend and hope to be back soon.

Turned up without a booking and had heard we’d be lucky to get a table but they managed to fit us in which was great. They only have two ales on tap @ £7 each which one had ran out so had the choice of one. Went with the Scottish rope grown mussels as a main which was nice but hardly any of them for £17.50. Asked for some mayo with my chips only to find they’d charged me £1 😂 was 50p a dip was hardly any. The ice cream was also nice but @ £9 for 2 small scoops it’s definitely the most expense ice cream I’ve ever had! The prices would be fine if you left full but I’m afraid my stomachs still rumbling. And the 12.5% service charge added on the bottom of the receipt was a giggle. It did say it was optional but if that’s the case whys it added? Just makes things awkward when you don’t want to pay it.

I had a truly lovely meal here followed by a luxurious and peaceful nights sleep on the Hayloft. I couldn't have asked for more. The service was excellent, the room was cosy and very restful. The food was all excellent and I clearly need to stay there more often as the menu was extensive. Thank you for a very memorable evening

Wonderful attention to detail. Superb quality food. Venison potpie lovely delicate flavour, triple cooked chips light and crisp, sourdough bread had lovely texture and not too sour.

What a little gem! Excellent food and cosy atmosphere! Had a lovely lunch with friends and brought the dog too without any issue. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Just finished a 3 night stay at The Wellington Arms over Easter. We absolutely loved it - enough to extend our visit an extra night. We stayed in the Hayloft which was immaculately clean and perfectly serene. The minibar was perfectly thought out, the bathroom was gorgeous, the loft was a super fun little nook to sit and peruse the countless cookbooks filling the library, the interior was simple yet warm. It really felt like staying in your super stylish friend's guest house. The pup was welcomed with all sorts of treats (bones, chew sticks and a big bowl of water). The restaurant was perfect. After 3 breakfasts, 3 dinner and 2 lunches, we pretty much tried everything on the menu and couldn't criticize a thing. We pretty much spent the weekend eating wonderful food, exploring beautiful local villages and strolling the local Hampshire countryside. Simon was very welcoming and offered lovely suggestions for walks and sight seeing. The rest of the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I honestly can't think of anything that could have made our stay at The Wellington Arms any better. We will be back again very soon.

Yelp
This is not so much a pub as a top quality fine dining restaurant. Have been many times since first opening and have happily parted with every penny, consistantly excellent food cooked to perfection by Aussie chef Jason and front of house managed with aplomb by Simon. I could wax on and on lyrical here but I wont, don't listen to me, read the proffessional reviews. So it's a bit small, I've heard people say it's a little pricey which is utter rot, find anywhere better locally and I'll eat my hat. Can't recommend the Wellington enough, a true hidden gem.
