The West Egg

If you’re looking for an amazing breakfast with different eclectic choices, that taste great. You have found your place. The only negatives is there’s really not a lot of good places to sit. There is some outside seating and you can sit at the bar inside, but otherwise it’s really a to go place but don’t let that stop you. This is definitely the best food we’ve had in Saint Augustine and probably one of the best breakfast we’ve had in a long time highly highly recommend.

Fabulous discovery! My son went for a bike ride with his girlfriend, and one of the bikes broke its chain. He set out to find a repair shop, and while he did find one, it opened an hour later. So he looked for a place to have breakfast, and voila! He discovered this beautiful, peaceful spot with excellent service and fabulous food! I highly recommend it if you're visiting San Agustín and looking for a quiet place with parking.

Cute little local spot if you want to get off the strip and dive into some great home-cooked food. Owner Mari is not only delightful to talk to, but makes a delicious steak burrito. Fast, fresh, filling and affordable. Open Daily from 8-12 Wed-Sunday. Certainly going to be one of our “must visit” spots next trip to St Augustine.

We found West Egg by chance and it ended up being one of our favorite breakfast spots. The carne asada bowl was packed with flavor, and the homemade biscuits and gravy were unbelievably good. Service was quick and efficient, which we loved. Such a great spot!

I never go out of my way to write a review, but this place deserves 5 stars. My hubby and I’s food was simply delicious, fresh to order, and the service was top tier. They go above and beyond. We will gladly be returning!

I go to West Egg at least once a week. Those biscuits are crave worthy! But I also get their bowls and they are happy to modify it for my tastes. It feels like a real local spot with love in the kitchen. You can tell they care about the food and the people they serve… I am so glad to have this local gem nearby!

Such a great hidden gem! We drove right past it looking for breakfast but after seeing the lines at other restaurants we came back and so glad we did. Great biscuits breakfast sandwiches I will post pictures. I think we will definitely stop by again tomorrow on our way out of town. The staff were friendly and the food was great. Not much seating but seen most people were taking food to go.

My husband and I just moved to SA in June and found this small breakfast spot. We fell in love right away. The food is amazing. Prices are the best we’ve seen compared to most restaurants in town. The only thing I wish was different….is that they could be open all week. (Fingers crossed for maybe one day) We love coming in! 10/10 recommend to everyone

This place rocks! I ordered biscuit with chicken, egg over easy and avocado. Everything was cooked to perfection and the biscuit was super fresh and the fried chicken was 5/5. Service was amazing; polite, friendly and patient. The storefront is tiny and quaint with plenty of outdoor seating. My new go-to for breakfast.

Did not disappoint. What a great find. Small place with big flavors. Very clean, friendly service. We had a great meal and great coffee. Strongly recommend. And a favorite with the locals.

Once again Yelp steered me in the right direction! This is literally a little hole in the wall( which I love!) super tiny, but we were able to sit at the counter and eat our meal. This is nothing but fabulous home cooking! There were two chefs cooking right in front of us the entire time and they did not miss a beat. I got the pimento cheese chicken sandwich and it was everything I wanted it to be! My fiancée got the Spanish breakfast bowl and he thought it was great! We also shared an extra biscuit with the cinnamon butter based on the reviews we read on Yelp and it did not disappoint! We would visit again when in the area for sure.

Small hole in the wall place, limited seating. Adjacent to a lovely bake shop. Breakfast was really good, breakfast Sammie's on brioche buns.

Bowl was deliciously delicious! Hash was soft&crispy, steak tender&juicy, The Homemade Biscuits are OUT OF THIS WORLD, and I'm NOT even intoxicated! That Cinnamon Butter Spread on that biscuit made directly from The Most Highs Hands, amplified the entire experience. As I was eating, all I can hear in my mind was this song from a TikTok video, "Taste the biscuit, Taste the goodness of the biscuit"! Mari GREAT Customer service and conversation! Man on Man this is definitely a staple in the city! My husband and I were definitely impressed with this place. I knew this place would be tasty as every single review I read it was 5 stars. Everyone was super friendly and ready to help. The sandwiches omg really were ahhhhmazing the flavor ummmhmmmm hit every single spot. When I bring my family back we will be making our drive here. Please make sure if you come check your clock as their hours are Wednesday through Sunday 8am-12noon so don't go there and it's closed. Look at the meats in that sandwich * hush yo mouth and take a bite* yum

This is a tiny place but welll worth the wait or a great place for take out. So glad we had the opportunity to stop by in January and have breakfast. I had the Carne Asada Hash and it was amazing!

We are always on the look out for new places and this tiny little spot just opened a few weeks ago. Tucked away between Sweet City bakery and Muffs. Although new, this breakfast and lunch spot has a very experienced chef. If you like Back Forty, the Blue Hen, and a bunch of other local spots you will enjoy this menu. We sat up at the counter but there is also a few tables out front. The service is fast and friendly. My husband went for the Buttermilk Chicken Cordon Blue Sandwich. We watched the chef dip this beautiful chicken breast in a homemade buttermilk batter and flash fry it. This sandwich was layered with the chicken, grilled ham, cheese and a Datel pepper sauce. Hubby ate it so fast I didn't even get a bite! He said it was delicious!!! I went for the Carne Asado hash. It was a perfect combination of seasoned pulled beef, caramelized onions, and potatoes. Layered on top was fresh salsa, plenty of slice avocado, and a perfectly cooked over easy egg. I can't wait to get back and try another creation.

We arrived nine minutes till close and they were SO accommodating:) I was Really excited to try a new breakfast/brunch spot in St.Aug and Wow did it Hit The Spot;p The restaurant was clean, the staff were kind, and our food was Fresh. We sat outside to eat, which was Wonderful. I had fresh arugula and tomato on my sandwich and the quality was astounding. Also, the datil hot sauce that we were given was Amazing. The Perfect addition to my BLT egg sandwich. The Perfect amount of heat without being spicy. The egg was fluffy, bacon crispy/ meaty, and the bread was fluffy and all together delicious. Highly recommend

In my search for restaurants I go by ratings. This place is every bit 5 stars. It's small with limited seating. Most locals order to go. It's not your typical egg,bacon,potato menu. The chef/owner puts his own twist on the breakfast sandwiches and bowls and the flavors just work perfectly together. When we come back to the area they are now our go to place.

Awesome quick breakfast/brunch place. Service is fast and staff is nice. If you want more local vibes and to get away from the tourist over priced brunch spots, highly recommend. So many great options to choose from.

My husband and I visited for the first time and we loved it! They serve breakfast bowls, Sandwiches and burritos. It is a great place for a quick breakfast. It was so nice outside we were able to sit and enjoy the weather. The staff although busy were so nice. The sandwiches are big and filling. They are not your typical breakfast sandwiches which was the appealing part for us. The only thing I would have changed is getting my sandwich on a biscuit, but my breakfast was still delicious! We are always looking for something different. We will definitely be back!

We ate here twice on our vacation. It is delicious! We had the Cuban, chicken pimento cheese biscuit, home fries, cheddar grits, biscuits and gravy and chicken and grits bowl. (Not all at once!) The grits are great! The service is very friendly. Please note: the place is really small. There are only about 7 or 8 seats, so be prepared to get it to go, if necessary.

Amazing!!! I ordered the Cuban, they should rename it Magic cause it disappears!!! The BLT is a life changer... the way they make it is to be replicated everywhere everyday. Potatoes were piping hot and served with three choices of hot sauce. I saw the daily special, that could have been my to go order but I was to stuffed to eat more. This grill truly earns 5 stars. Service staff, Jill and Jeff had more personality and good looks to pair with our breakfast. Seating was take out style with 10 chairs and counters - no large groups!!!!!! Special place to come before going to watch the KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

Woa. The breakfast burritos here were amazing. Large portions with great flavor. Prices were reasonable. The bowls were great too! Check out their datil pepper hot sauce, too!

We tried the sausage egg and cheese on a biscuit and fall in love. The biscuits are big and flakey and the sausage has amazing flavor. we also tried the Denver, which is ham, egg, cheese, peppers and onions on a biscuit. It was also amazing. The service was fast and so friendly! We felt so welcome and the staff/owner/cook were so amazing. We returned all three days of the rest of our vacation Ambiance- There is both seating inside and outside seating also. Very cozy but still comfortable, good music always playing. I would return many times and recommend to my own family here in Florida!

Excellent place for a quick and hearty breakfast. Try anything with datil peppers. Coffee is great too. Limited seating, so plan for carry out.

My friends and I stopped here on a Sunday morning before heading back to Gainesville. The staff are warm and accommodating. It is a cute little place where you can order at the counter and then sit inside or out with your food. The food was very fresh and the prices are super reasonable. The coffee is also pretty good, with a couple syrups and creamer you can add in. Definitely a good stop for a lowkey breakfast/lunch with friends or even if you're by yourself. Will definitely come back next time I'm in St. Augustine!

The West Egg in Saint Augustine is an amazing little sandwich shop. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and our sandwiches were incredibly filling and delicious. Definitely worth giving them a try!

Small place outside the historic area with delicious breakfasts! Order at counter. A few places to sit inside or a couple outside tables, or you can bring your meal and eat at the cupcake shop nextdoor. Service with a smile, very reasonably priced! Big Thumbs Up!

So yummy! Small place but incredible food! I highly recommend the chicken and grits bowl. My husband had the breakfast burrito and was very happy with his choice too. We will be back!

Great little breakfast spot! Made to order, fresh ingredients, friendly service, free parking and outdoor seating! It's hard to find hidden gems like these. Plus they had locally roasted coffee and locally made hot sauces. Food was delicious and my experience great. I highly recommend. Support your local small businesses!!

Cute intimate space with family atmosphere. Sweet as pie customer service. The food was phenomenal and one of my favorite things I've ever eaten, good to die and go to heaven now!

Food was absolutely amazing, and the staff was so friendly! Only problem that I had was finding the store, but if you go in the front door it's right through the bakery in the back of the building. Also limited seating area, but besides that it's absolutely worth visiting. The food was BUSSIN!

I recently tried The West Egg for the first time. We work close by and did a to go order. I tried the Cuban, a iced coffee and the two others got the BLT. My sandwich was AMAZING! The quality was so good, the sandwich was generous, the toppings were ridiculously good and the coffee was delicious. The other ppl said the same about theirs! The girl that assisted me was so kind, helpful and she made sure we had everything we would need, to enjoy our food on the go! It easily became one of our favorite, local places! Can wait to try them again!

The food was so delicious, came out quick and looked and tasted perfect. Their hot coffee was very good. I got the whole carne bowl and my son got the French toast, which was awesome. Clean place and very nice people

Saw some good reviews about the west egg and decided I'd try it, the reviews did not disappoint the people working there were great & fast service . It's more of a grab and go kind of place I'd say but they do have a little high top area to sit and eat inside and some tables and chairs outside. I got the blt literally the best I've ever had And just a regular iced coffee. If your looking for more of a coffee spot I wouldn't really recommend this place, BUT for some breakfast foods 100% recommend.

Delicious!!! Best chicken biscuit you will have in your life! Friendly and fast service. Mainly a to-go spot, but there is probably about 8-10 seats inside and a few tables out front. A cute little boy that was ordering while we were there said "West egg is the best egg!" That is the truth! Besides the amazing food the kitchen is exposed and very clean. Also very reasonable prices. You can't go wrong with West Egg and will be happy you stopped here.

Since stumbling upon West Egg we have been a frequent Saturday visitor. Seating is limited so so this we have had to wait to eat in but they are expanding their outdoor seating for the fall. Service is prompt and the kitchen is efficient. The menu is just the right amount for breakfast or lunch and you won't leave hungry. Jeff is a professional and it shows in the flavor of each of items. And yes eggs are the common theme.

Very cool place. Laidback and the food is great. I had the carne asada bowl and my wife had the egg, sausage and avocado sandwich. Food was outstanding. They also serve local Screaming Peacock coffee. Highly recommend

I have been looking forward to trying "The West Egg". I was really looking forward to breakfast. It was about 5 minutes after 12 today, Wednesday the 24th. A hand written sign on the door said only open till noon Wednesday thru Sunday. It was completely closed up but there was an open sign in the window. I was really disappointed and not at all pleased. No mention on the internet. Who does sandwiches etc and closes at noon. Frankly not knowing anything else about this business it seems more of a hobby than a business. Too bad.

Clean and modern with high caliber execution. Biscuits are perfect! Try the nitro cold brew! I had the grit chicken egg bowl w biscuit - YUM! Jeff was super nice too. FYI: ENTRANCE is on SIDE of building BEHIND the bakery off King Street. Look for the double doors :)

This place is a hidden gem and puts out some of tastiest breakfast fare imagineeabl!. The biscuit and gravy bowl was incredible and the service was so friendly that ypu felt like you were dining at a friend's home! Don't wait to eat here!

On our way from South Florida to Hilton Head South Carolina. went the 15 minutes out of our way just to eat at the West Egg. We were glad we did. . The food and service was great. Very popular place. Well worth the trip. You wont be disappointed.

My wife and I ordered the biscuit and gravy bowl and the steak burrito. Wow! Delicious food, great for on the go, paired with a very friendly staff. Glad to have The West Egg in our community. We'll definitely be back.

This little place, tucked away in a quiet corner, hides a lot of yummy eats. The carne asada Haag had the perfect balance of salty, creamy (from the cheese), crispy (from the potatoes) and the beef is tender and perfectly seasoned. The sausage biscuit is wonderful as well. The cinnamon butter for the biscuit is super good!

Best breakfast burrito in town that I've found. Super friendly staff. So happy have found this place!
