The Best Restaurants in Beaverton, Oregon | Eater Portland

"Home to one of the largest whisky selections in town, the Westgate also has a massive taplist of outstanding West Coast beer and a well-crafted food menu. The chef burgers here are a standout, topped with everything from capicola to balsamic-marinated tomatoes. It also features a beautiful billiard room and a good-sized bottle shop filled with beers from all over Oregon."

Tried the sweet potato gnocchi, which was very good... almost dessert like. The staff was friendly and very energetic. My burger was cooked perfectly and was full of flavor. The side beer/wine room has hundreds of different beers and wines that are not found in stores. I would highly recommend trying it out.

George Koshy

Google
what an amazing experience and you walk into this place line up with bottles of every type of scotch, gin, whiskey and every other type of drink you can imagine. while another wall is lined up with the best of wines from all over the world. the place has a retail store where hi can buy any of those drinks. but remember that if you take the drink inside the restaurant and decide to open it, there'll be a corkage of 20$ charged. the food here is amazing and so is the ambience. the starters and the enters paired with some of the best cocktails are a fab testament to the place itself!

Google
This has been my go-to spot for a relaxing night out with my wife and friends. You cannot choose a better place if you’re a bourbon enthusiast this place will blow you away. Ed, is amazing and makes the best whisky sours in Oregon. The food is great and you can literally never go wrong with any of the food choices. They do have 3 pool tables that are first come first serve in the back.

Google
Amazing place! Huge lists of bourbons and draft beer. Big menu. I had a very tasty salad with house smoked chicken. The burgers looked really big and really good. There is a lot on the menu to choose from. They also have a bottle shop with a lot of beer and wine. I noticed some older bottles of red wine from the 2010s. It's a fun night out for sure!

Google
The artichoke is so good here. Other great dishes are the Caribbean jerk chicken and the fish and chips. My wife says the girl with green eyes cocktail is her favorite cocktail. The bottle shop has lots of favorite of mine like a variety of Belgian ales and some Russian river sours. The food and drinks here are top notch, and the upscale atmosphere make this my favorite place for date nights.

Nick Villanti

Google
Absolutely love this place. Their menu is fun and delicious with abundant options for drinks. Definitely find a night to go and take your time and enjoy.

Google
Awesome meal & experience! Can't say enough positive about this place. Quit reading these reviews and GO! What are you waiting for?

Google
Waitstaff was friendly, quick, and attentive. My beer was great, and my fish and chips were yummy. Super light batter. And the fries were great! My husband said his mashed potatoes were a bit lumpy, and his ribeye could have used some more salt and pepper.

Yelp
FINALLY got the chance to visit after hearing so many good things! Ambience here is one of a kind: there is the area to the right when you enter where it's just bottles and bottles of booze in their cooler/fridge (there is "Bourbon" in its restaurant name, after all). Then, when you are seated, you are also presented with rows and rows of more liquor on their shelves in the back. With respect to the food, here's what we got: - Fried Chicken Tit = yes, I said 'tit' (tit tit tit!). I LOVE how unserious this restaurant is with itself. This is also illustrated when you go to the restroom and see an image of a cat on the door for the ladies' restroom and a picture of a rooster on the door of the guys' bathroom. Anyway, this chicken sandwich was moist, tender, and flavorful. Got it with a side of their house salad and lemon thyme vinaigrette salad dressing. Your other choices of sides are regular salad, fries, and a cup of soup. - The 'Chop = in-bone pork chop that was ALSO moist, tender, and flavorful. Comes with veggies like string beans, bell peppers, and mashed potatoes. All of this was delish and very filling. - Bearded Clams = comes with large pieces of garlic toast. I was actually more in love with the garlic, buttery sauce and at the end was scooping it up using empty clam shells (lol). - Bourbon Shrimp = nice large, plump shrimp on top of a garlic toast! There's 5 of them with a splatter of some addicting sauce on the plate. Rich, addicting sauces seem to be a theme here... For drinks, they have a manuscript-length menu so it may feel a little overwhelming. However, since this place is known for bourbon, I got their Whiskey Sour - came with all the nice little touches like cherry, egg white, and large rock of ice. Last shoutout is our server. She was friendly and just so down-to-earth. Definitely elevated the dining experience. They have desserts here such as lava cake and flan, but no way I was able to fit more in...next time!

Yelp
The food at Westgate Bourbon was excellent! By far the best Blue Cheese Burger I have ever eaten. My son had the Ribeye which was cooked perfectly, son-in-law order the Carbonara with Shrimp and raved about it, husband ordered the Clams and although he liked them said that it was a confusing dish and that he would not suggest it. Service on the other hand was atrocious! Son and daughter-in-law arrived first and had a drink, when the three of us arrived we were greeted politely and shown to our table. 40 minutes and several requests later we got water. Eventually a waiter come to take our ordered, we decided to skip drinks before dinner drinks and ordered our meals. Meals came, no refill of water, no "how's it going folks". Again we had to ask for the check. That being said I would eat that burger again wait and all!

Yelp
This place has been here for a very long time. I think it was a steak house before that. It's fairly handy for me and I've stopped in for a brew and a bite now and then over the years. It's in an old mall that was there even before the Beaverton Mall. It's called something else now. Used to be a major mall "back in the day". Food is quite good. Reasonable prices. Very attentive wait staff. I'm not a hard alcohol drinker so a pint of beer does it for me. Or a Corona if I feel like splurging. Plenty of parking. Around the corner on Hall there's a gazillion saloons, pubs, eateries and so on so you can have yourself quite the bar crawl and do very little walking. It's right on the bus line so that's a plus too.

Yelp
Food excellent. From my filet to the , Samoas, the Chicken Avocado Salad and the parm noodles. The berry tart and the choc lava cake were fantastic and large!! They have a whole room full of liquor bottles you can buy but the guys went for beer which they enjoyed. I had a Lenalicious and it was very fruity flavored I never tasted the liquor. But, felt it about 30 minutes later. Devastating drink! Service was great, fast. The place was packed on a Tuesday night and it was quiet so you could actually talk. My only complaint was the signs for the toilets. Crude for such a classy place.

Yelp
This place doesn't disappoint! Amazing service and very affordable food. Read the menu for amazing more than pub food and the funny comments. Definitely will be back!

Yelp
I came with a group of 7 for dinner. We did not have a reservation and ended up waiting for a table for quite a while (around 40-45 minutes). Our server was nice and got our food out to us in a reasonable time. One of my friends and I shared: CLAM AND CHORIZO PASTA: Surprisingly great combination of proteins. The flavor and the texture of the pasta was wonderful. Really great dish! WAGYU BURGER: Burger was cooked well and great combination of items on the burger! All in all, a solid restaurant option to hang out with friends.

Yelp
This place is the end of the rainbow for bourbon drinkers. Literally they hit the mother load here. Really they have gone all out to have the widest selection of alcohol overall. If you are looking to experiment, try something new, try something rare, enjoy a sip, or whatever... here you have it! It is a large space that was pretty much packed from the time we arrive until we left. Not much open seating. I suggest making reservations. The atmosphere is rich with decadence and liquid joy. Oh yes they have food... and not just bar food... they have REAL food made up with thought and planning. It is hard to concentrate on food options when there is this kind of a full line of libations in front of you but honestly I was quite pleased by the choices on the menu and then the flavors on the plants. The staff was swarmed, but did a great job of keeping up. We never wanted for anything long and they had great suggestions to help guide us along. I really like this venue. It was a fun place and I don't even drink. It is a great spot to go with friends and/or family and just cut loose to enjoy a couple of hours.

Yelp
If you like me are a bourbon lover , this is the place for you .The restaurant seemed to be experiencing a quiet evening, with only a few tables occupied. Opting for a seat at the bar, I was promptly attended to, and without hesitation, I changed my initial plan of ordering an Aperol Spritz after being captivated by the impressive array of whiskies on display. Instead, I decided to indulge in an Old Fashioned. The drink was made alright a tad bit too boozy if you ask me . I also got the Bourbon shrimp and the sweet potato gnocchi to go with it . I am 100% confident that the Gnocchi was hands down one of the worst things I have eaten all month . The shrimp on the other hand was delicious - creamy sauce and big sizeable portions of shrimp on toasted baguette. I also got a Penicillin later which was pretty good. The staff was courteous but I wouldn't categorize them as very friendly . They answered questions and checked up frequently, which was pretty much all I cared for. Plenty of parking outside. I did find them a little bit pricier relative to similar kinds of establishments in the city.

Yelp
We stopped in on a Sunday evening. The restaurant was comfortably full, but we got seated right away. I ordered the pesto pasta and my husband ordered the salmon. The pasta was so flavorful and delicious, and the salmon was well-prepared: tender and not dry. I would come here again and bring my friends.

Yelp
Quality whisky bar with a great menu as well! They have a neat game room off to the side as well! This place is class class class Never had a bad service either, they always seem to take care of the table and everyone's needs. I always enjoy our company dinners here too:)

Yelp
Great spot with a massive liquor selection serving amazing cocktails and quality eats. Has a bottle shop in front and a couple pool tables to the side to kill some time while you wait. Can get busy quickly and does not take reservations.
google avatar

Yelp
If you've never been to Westgate and you love bourbon, this is a must try spot! My recommendation is to go with the plan to sit at the bar, or try to arrive early. It can get pretty crazy during the busy rush. We stopped through for a drink (I got a whiskey highball with Bulleit, very good) and then we also shared the TK421. This sandwich was GOOD. Nice layers of flavor, with a bit of a kick. Highly recommend!

Yelp
An awesome experience visiting here the first time. I've heard many great things here and they were all true!!!
google avatar

Olivia A.

Yelp
I like to try something new everytime I go here. I also love to come here just for drinks! Also my favorite place so far for a whiskey sour! Definitely a date night place. They also have a side room with pool tables that's is fun for hanging out outside of the main restaurant vibe or with a group of friends. I think pool is by the hour. Recently they built outdoor seating which I'm curious about but is nice because they are definitely busy as soon as they open, so I look forward to trying when the weather permits! Finally tried the old fashion and it lives up to the hype! Westgate has the perfect dim lighting and our server was constantly checking in.
google avatar

Rebecca M.

Yelp
Had a great experience at Westgate during a recent trip. Staff was attentive and knowledgeable, food was great, portion sizes very full and overall great ambiance! Fun to have a whiskey/wine store at the from of the restaurant as well to grab something on the way out.
google avatar

Yelp
The Westgate Bourbon Bar was the best restaurant we went to on our entire trip to Portland. The beer selection is insane and the food was awesome, especially the jalapeño spicy burger!!!! Definitely a must try.
google avatar

Nadjia M.

Yelp
Came to try some whiskeys, returned for the quality of the food. We ordered The bourbon shrimp, Brussels sprouts, cheese curds were, shrimp risotto, and the TK 421brisket sandwich. Simply delicious. I usually have a lot to say about the food but today I'm out of words other than phenomenal.
google avatar

Wayne Z.

Yelp
Incredible bourbon selection, the most impressive one I've ever seen personally, if even most of the rare pours are heavily prices by the single oz. The hidden gems are far and away some of their barrel selections. 52 taps of beer on tap also and plenty of wine and cocktail to boot. Really appreciate some of the flight options available for those wanting to sample across a wider variety. Food wise is solid, friend got a steak salad which was a hefty portion. I go the bone in pork chop and it was pretty damn good. The bottle shop attached is also a nice touch w/some very reasonably priced btls. Pool hall attached to the side was a bit odd but hey whatever works. Plenty of diners on a random Thur evening. Was in town for work but would definitely come back.

Yelp
Amazing first visit. Come here multiple times, but the wait was always so long we passed Tonight- no wait, even though they were still busy. We don't drink, so my review is strictly food related. I did hear they have creative mock tails as well Started with the gnocchi appetizer. It was on the sweet side but very tasty. Seemed a little overcooked where they were denser than intended. Still good. The Ceasar salad was legit. Loved the Parmigian thar they uses. I changed my mind a number of tin3s looking at the menu. Finally settled on the shrimp carbonara per our servers suggestion. OMG! Phenomenal! You have to understand that my concept of carbonara is different than most, as my first experience having it was in Italy. This was close to being that good. Just an amazing dish. My wife was eating lite and just got soup and salad. She loved the soup and the toasted bread thst came with it. Can't wait to come back and try something else!
google avatar

Tierra H.

Yelp
This place was an hour and half wait to be seated but it was worth the wait! When you go back into the dinning room there is probably every bottle of Boorbon/liquor that has ever been made. They have so many options to choose from. Our waiter was super nice and helpful with the menu. All the food looked good but we went with the Bourbon shrimp for an appetizer and it was delicious!!! The muscles appetizer was so good and they paired it with a house bread!! My wife had the clams and chorizo pasta that was really good. They were not skimpy with the portion size. I had the TK41 sandwich and it was okay. It reminded me of a Philly cheese steak which I was not going for. I also had some Brussels sprouts that was beyond delightful. The ambiance makes a great date night or just a good dinner My wife and I will definitely be back once dry January is over to try their drinks
google avatar

David J.

Yelp
Food 8/10 Service 8/10 Ambiance 9/10 Came here for dinner with some co-workers and we were not disappointed. We were sat down right away and had our drinks ordered. I recommend you try the TK 421 Sandwich, SO good along with their fries! My friends tried the salmon and the steak salad and loved it as well. Definitely a solid spot to come try and have a drink. Good for family outings and special dinner reservations!
google avatar

Yelp
First time here on 11/16. The food was wonderful, the drink menu was astonishing, and the selection at the front is mind boggling. My wife and I ordered the spicy situation burger and the chicken tit. If you leave this place without being amazed, it's your own damn fault.
google avatar

Yelp
Westgate is our new fav go-to date night place. It has an outstanding draft beer (52!!) & whiskey/bourbon selection, best in the Beaverton area. The food is excellent & well-executed, and the ambiance & service are on point. Plus, there are 3 pool tables and shuffleboard in a separate room next to the bar so you can grab a drink and play a few rounds after having dinner here. Check out their amazing bottle shop too. Definitely a nice place for a fun night out. A solid *****, highly recommended. Go already & support this awesome place.
google avatar

Nathaniel J B.

Yelp
Get there early this place fills up pretty darn quickly with consistent early dinners customers!!! Great cocktails, good food and great selection of spirits!!! Definitely on the pricey side but great vibes cool staff plus available parking!
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
Came in on a Wednesday right when they opened. Within an hour of opening, this place was pretty full. Their outside seating is closed for the summer. Service was great toward the end but it started out pretty slow (25 minutes just to get a drink). But once we ordered food, the service and speed greatly improved. They have an incredible selection of whisky / bourbon and other liquors. I ordered the salmon and my friend ordered the pesto pasta with chicken. The salmon was cooked perfectly and tasted great. The prices for food are a tad on the steep side but if they can execute the food that we'll, I see why people pay for it. Will definitely be back to sample more and do some whisky flights

Misti W.

Yelp
Yet another AMAZING creation by Theo and staff! Never disappointed by the specials! Albacore tuna with pineapple salsa, quinoa risotto and grilled asparagus! Always a French 75 with 44 North Huckleberry Vodka! Sua is da best mixer!

Kimberly V.

Yelp
So yummy! I had the clam and chorizo pasta, and everything was so flavorful. The pasta and the olive tapenade both tasted like they were made from scratch. Wonderful value for the price point, and I'd happily recommend! The setting is great for friends, family, or dates. Comfy large booths, and an impressive lineup of beverages (I think 40 Pages of whiskeys).

Chris H.

Yelp
Best burgers in Oregon! Very flavorful, with interesting and tasty toppings and housemaid sauces. All the burgers are half pound and very juicy (as long as you don't have them cook it well done). Other menu items are very good as well. Service is friendly and quick. Ambiance is great. If you get there during busy times, be ready to wait for a seat - but they do have a pool room with open seating Really good selection of all kinds of alcohol, with something like 50 beers on tap. The bottle shop also has a really great selection of beer.
google avatar

Evan S.

Yelp
Very tasty except the house made ketchup tasted like cherry compote or something. Nice ambiance and not too loud.
google avatar

Coach D.

Yelp
The menu is not stacked with to many options, yet its enough to try something new every time I go. The burgers are delicious and I love the cheese curds. Who comes here to eat anyways...lol. The liquor menu is un-rivaled and I love trying new Whiskeys whenever I can. Not to mention they got like 20 something beers on tap. My wife loves the Lemon Meringue Pie...we go here sometimes just for that.
google avatar

Jeremy G.

Yelp
My wife and I were in Beaverton for date night and asked around for good places to go. Her uncle recommended this spot which was close to their house and I was glad we went! We went on a very busy night and there was a 45 min wait but we were able to get a seat at the bar immediately. I was immediately impressed with the ambiance, decor and their little store at the front of the restaurant. Everything on the menu looked delicious! We started with their brussels sprouts which were pretty good. I then ordered their Wagyu burger with a side salad and my wife had their chef (cobb?) salad. My burger was tasty and juicy without being a huge sloppy mess. The salad was good but I wish I had ordered their fries just to see how they were. My wife enjoyed her salad, as it was a large portion and had a lot of toppings. I also ordered one of their signature cocktails and although I can't remember which one now, I do recall it being fantastic! The prices looked a little spendy at first but after being in the atmosphere and tasting the food I don't think it was unreasonable.

Yelp
Great date night spot with girlfriends or your person. Love the drink selections. The food is plenty and delicious. I am in favor of it being open late on weekday and weekends!
google avatar

Lisa J.

Yelp
This place was so good we came two different nights during our stay in Beaverton. We sat at the bar to have a better view of all the liquor they have on display. Great food, a HUGE selection of liquor, and great friendly staff. This is a must come to place if you're in the area.

Patty L.

Yelp
Great food and service! So glad it's opening earlier than 5:00!!!! I love the clams there.
google avatar

Ploy N.

Yelp
A super cool spot in Beaverton. They got an EXTENSIVE collection of liquor at the bar as well as at their bottle shop. Wine, beer, liquors, you name it. The ambience inside is super cozy and open. Sorta tavern-y but a bit more elevated. Service was fast and staffs were very friendly. With so many big booth seatings and bar seatings, we're swiftly seated even on a Friday night. As mentioned, their liquor collection is extensive so their drinks menu is too. I really enjoyed my Revolver. Strong and full of fun citrus notes. Additionally, they offer a good selection of food items as well, from your typical burgers and sandwiches to full entreés. I got to try a bit of the Walk of Shame and it was delicious! Sourdough was super well toasted and the tender ham complemented the sandwich very well. The fries were alright; could be crispier but the sauces made up for it. Totally would like to be back and try more of their food and drinks.
google avatar

Rachel L.

Yelp
I tried their wagyu beef burger and the hint of truffle was . The drink names are fun. I got Tom's hot wife, which was yummy. Would like to try a different one next time. Server was chill and accommodating of fish allergies. Love the dark ambiance.
google avatar

Sarah E.

Yelp
Very interesting place - clearly a place for a great cocktail! The options are endless. I opted for an extra dirty vodka martini - they even stuff blue cheese in olives for me. Smoothly made, the martini was great! I opted for the pesto pasta - thick noodles, artichokes and a creamy pesto sauce - delicious. But what really made the dish was the rotisserie chicken - it really was rotisserie chicken and for some reason that made it better. If I were a local and not visiting, I'd go again and sit at the bar as I'm sure that's even more fun!
google avatar

WW T.

Yelp
It's a great place for a bourbon or glass of wine dinner. The selection was terrific, and the service was friendly and attentive. The food was great, and I would recommend the filet or seafood. I will return for sure. The atmosphere was cool with all the bourbon selection on the wall and the option of mixing flights
google avatar

Connie C.

Yelp
Delicious food, irreverent atmosphere and the thickest book of alcohol drinks... what's not to love? Tried the wagyu burger twice now and love the thick bacon, fig jam and blue cheese. Came for girls night out and enjoyed picking through the giant menu of drinks. The cheese curd appetizer was crispy and yummy, the jalapeños sauce was perfect. Service was attentive and wonderful!
google avatar

Joshua L.

Yelp
Driven by here hundred's of times and I can't believe I've never been. Definitely a place we will be coming back to again. We beat the rush but they were super packed. That being said our wait-staff were super friendly and we never felt left out. Atmosphere is great for any occasion, the casual drink with friends, pool and drinks, or a date night. Be ready to read through an absolute monster of a drink menu. That being said, the servers and bartenders seem to have a pretty key-grasp of their own menu which can be helpful with a menu that size. Food was phenomenal and The Gatekeeper is arguably one of the best burgers I've had in recent memory. That thing is loaded from top to bottom. 1/2 lb Patty, Shredded Pork, Sweet jalapeno jam, onion rings, and pineapple. I get hesitant sometimes when I see pineapple on a burger, as it can often be a this dry chewy flavorless ring. But this whole burger was JUICY from the patty to the aoili to the pineapple.
google avatar

Brendan Q.

Yelp
Great place, HOW EVER, they DO NOT do HAPPY HOUR anymore. Regardless, split one of their delicious sandwiches or amazing hamburgers and call it a deal. Recommend their excellent cocktails, but do NOT split those. They have real bartenders here, so imbibe devine! Service is great, but when they get really busy, it can get a bit slow, no biggy, worth the wait.
google avatar

Ashley A.

Yelp
I enjoyed going to Westgate but wow the menu overall is so overwhelming! It's not a horrible thing to complain about but it is something I'd have to be looking through for a while before making a decision. I ended up with the fried chicken sandwich and it was good! Big chicken for the amount of bread but flavor was great.
google avatar

Curt A.

Yelp
Best sandwich I've ever had. Someone's sloppy sister. Good service, good food. Great spot.
google avatar

Kelly D.

Yelp
Wow!! We had a great time. Service was on point!! We enjoyed the pork chop and burger. The Old Fashioned was excellent! We enjoyed it with Uncle Nearest. Next time we visit we will return.
google avatar

Kristy R.

Yelp
A great although pricey opportunity to try new bourbons. The Bourbon Shrimp is to die for. Be prepared for $$$. we each had 2 one ounce modest priced pours, each had an appetizer and played pool an hour and it was $150 with tip. Not our every night experience but we will definitely repeat when we want to splurge.

Dennis G.

Yelp
Shrimp carbonara from the Gods!!! Then you get mesermized by the long walls of beers and wines! Stop in and check out the art in the billiard room! Many many signed Star Trek memorabilia! Fun spot
google avatar

David G.

Yelp
Great food, drinks and staff! Everything is amazing there, highly recommended! Favorite date night location!
google avatar

Charlie T.

Yelp
I haven't been back here in a good amount of time, but I'm glad that I did. There's a great selection of bourbons and other spirits if you are into that kind of stuff. The selection here is the most extensive on the west side. The food here is good and prices are very reasonable, especially on the cocktails side. The ribeye steak was prepared to my liking, and I will likely get it again. The service both at the bar counter and table were good and efficient.

Yelp
My family, 9 of us on a Saturday, went out to celebrate a birthday at Westgate Bourbon Bar and Taphouse in Beaverton. They don't take reservations, so we had quite a wait on our hands of over two hours. But, they have an area where you can wait with pool tables and a shuffle board, that definitely helped with the long wait. The food was so delicious, no complaints there. I had the halibut special, and others had the salmon, shrimp carbonara, and the Wagyu burgers with some yummy appetizers, like the deep-fried cheese curds with a yummy dipping sauce, plus they had some good cocktails. The five stars is for the food, the only complaint I have is our waiter. He was very spotty, we asked for separate checks at the beginning, but he wouldn't do it, so in the end we got this big long check that we had to sit there for at least 15 minutes to figure what everyone had, and we have nine people so it was a huge pain in the backside!! But the food is highly recommend, it's something I would go back for.
