My two night stay at this hotel was an unforgettable experience! Upon arrival, I was greeted by an exceptionally welcoming and kind staff. Kelly at the front desk was a true superstar. I had many questions about local attractions and amenities and she went above and beyond to provide detailed answers, ensuring I felt confident exploring the area. Her professionalism and genuine care made a lasting impression. |The room was honestly view of the surrounding mountains that made every morning special. The heated pool was another standout feature. I’ll be back!

Had such a wonderful trip with my family! When we arrived, Julio greeted us so kindly and helped us with all of our bags. The check-in process was smooth and we even received a complimentary glass of sparkling wine!|The pool was wonderful and the walking distance to the Village made eating and activities easy to enjoy. The trip in the gondola was super cool and my toddlers wanted to do it again and again. |The room was beautiful and the fireplace was a treat for us. The room was cleaned daily and all amenities made the trip easy. |Would and will definitely go again

Always enjoy staying at the Westin. It’s Clean, comfortable, & family friendly. Super convenient! The pool is beautiful and great fun for the kids. Big big shout out to Tim working at the front desk, you really helped make our family trip a memorable one. See you next time!

My husband and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary here. We specifically went to see if we could handle the altitude of 7800 plus feet and therefore be able to enjoy the area with our snowboarding/skiing family. Well, snowboarding and skiing aside we had a wonderful time! Staff, excellent, accommodations, excellent, on site restaurant, excellent, view, breathtaking! It was a wonderful, quiet, peaceful mini vacation for us! The drive into the quaint village just takes a few minutes and a few miles down the road is the town. Both very quaint offering lots of shops and restaurants. Farther down the road is access via gondola or ski lifts to an elevation of 11,000 plus feet with an even more spectacular view of what Mother Nature has given us and those enjoying the slopes either skiing or snowboarding! We could deal with the altitude and look forward to returning to this absolutely beautiful hotel and its surrounding area! The friendliness of the hotel staff makes it enjoyable if just to hang around the hotel, the pool and hot tub area and enjoy walking around the area.

We stayed here for one night on June 1, 2025 with our pup as we were traveling through the area. We ended up in a suite, which was gorgeous. It had one bed, a living area, and a small kitchen area. We were really impressed with the cleanliness of the room, the state of repair everything was in, and the overall state of the property. We spend lot of time in hotels, since my husband travels a lot for work, and this is what I usually expect in any room: clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom and floors were clean, the room was in good repair, and good service. The view was unbeatable, and I would love to stay here again in the future.

Great hotel in a perfect location in the village with a heap of restaurants and bars on the doorstep. Skiing was closed when we were there but there’s plenty of things to do. Rooms are nice, not fancy but that seems to be the theme in Mammoth Lakes. Staff were very friendly dog friendly too. Hotel has business services and parking which was useful. Would certainly stay there again

We recently visited for our 10 year anniversary. When we made this known to the front desk, wow the service was so nice and personal. They sent up rosé and a delicious brownie sundae as well as a personalized card. It was so sweet and set the tone for our getaway. They even upgraded us to a one bedroom suite with an awesome view. Check-in was so easy, the room was beautiful and we could even bring our dog. The location is central and easy to get everywhere. 5/5 would recommend.

Hello All — I’m writing this reviews with an impression that it will help the wider community to take a decision before booking to this property. We booked a room Studio High Floor, Studio, 1 King, Sofa bed, Fireplace and got a very good room with great view facing the mountain 🏔️. We were able to see the color pallets of sunrise 🌅 and sunset both — it was breathtaking exp. for us. Kitchen had microwave, dishwasher and with full of utensils (high quality) that you can use. Room — Although I’ve given overall ratings as “5” but I would like to call out that there are 2 small observations the team needs to work on (a) bathroom granite top surrounded to wash basin is pretty small and you hardly can put items there and might be difficult for families (b) room is overall little small in size, Pl check that if you have such reqs. Onsite Restaurant — We ordered 2 items from their onsite restaurant — the staff were very friendly and the food was yummy 😋, we enjoyed throughly. The sitting area in the restaurant is very nice with great view. Parking — It has basement parking which is very secured and perfect. One more observation— (1) the property doesn’t have any ice 🧊 vending machine which is bit surprising! (2) One important thing to call out, at LL (lower level) it has an entry point which is not locked and there are no attendants, Pl don’t go there after 8:30 PM or so in summer. I was there around 10 PM to take some night pictures, 3 guys came all of a sudden and somehow I managed to escape, Pl take a note of it !! That’s the main reason I’m not giving 5/5.

Yelp
We hit the jackpot on this trip, both in timing and accommodations. The town was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Literally only a few people walking around the village. Not good for business, but nice if you like a peaceful vibe. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Monache Westin. We had our pug pup with us and he thought he was the king of the mountain, so popular with the staff. Tim, one of the Shift Managers assisted in making our stay so enjoyable. He was extremely nice, accommodating and professional. Thank you very much!

Yelp
Do not, under any circumstance, think this is a place that's any good. My wife and I stayed here at the tail end of March thinking it's one of the better resorts. Oh how wrong we were. We checked in and were initially given a room that smelled like sewage? We tried opening the window, that didn't help so we went to the front desk to get a new room. Thankfully they were able to accomodate that. Here's where the real fun starts. The bedsheet was clean, but the duvet cover was positively not. It had some hair on it, didn't smell like it had been washed, and to top it all off, a dried blood stain on it. Yes that's right, a blood stain about 1.5-2" long. We called the reception, they said they'd bring us a new cover. After about 10 minutes, someone came up, handed me the cover, and left. They didn't even bother changing the old, dirty one with the new one. We called to ask why the person didn't change it when they came to the door and the answer was "we don't have 24 hour maid service here". SO, I'm paying $400-$500 a night to change my own bedsheets?? I guess so, at this point it was almost midnight and we didn't have any other options. We changed the duvet with the "new" one. Which also had a plethora of dog hairs (which I am allergic to), but at least no dried blood, yay? The pillows smelled absolutely disgusting but we had brought out own towels , so we just used those instead of the pillows. My wife felt so disgusted she slept with her Sweatpants and jacket on, and I maybe got about 2-3 hours of shuteye since I had to sleep next to dog hair that I was allergic to. Needless to say, this will be a property we will never return to. This was, by far, the worst experience I've ever had at a hotel.

Yelp
This was the first time I stayed at this Westin. For Skiing, we usually stay at the Ritz Carlton Tahoe (Club floor) every year. Pro: Conveniently located next to the village Reasonable (1/3 of price of Ritz Carlton Tahoe Spacious 2 bedroom 2 bathroom full kitchen suite option Comfortable bed Covered parking (Price included in the resort fee) Dog friendly ($50 night) Ski varet available under the gondora Con: Feels not as luxurious as other Westin or Ritz Rooms are dated. Moldy Bathrooms Not ski-in-ski-out. You have to go up the big stairs after all day of skiing to go back to the hotel. No good dining options

Nico C.

Yelp
Had a great experience here. Room was updated and clean, with a nice view. Parking was easy and charging was free and fast (they have Clipper Creek J1772 L2 plugs and a pair of Tesla chargers with the magic dock adapter). Staff was friendly. Restaurant was also great for breakfast with good food and nice wait staff.

Yelp
Beautiful resort situated in the heart of Mammoth. We had a one night stay here at the end of last summer and loved it. Check in was quick and easy. Our room was located beside the pool. We love how functional and modern our room was. The living area, little window nook to the coffee table and little stools were all little comforts that made our stay amazing. We love that we even had a little kitchenette that came with the room. Don't even get us started on the bed! It's so soft and comfortable. We had the best sleep. Overall loved our stay at the Westin. We appreciate that its pet friendly too! They do charge a pet fee and parking isn't free so expect to pay for overnight parking. They do have a parking garage under the hotel!

Yelp
the five star is mainly directed to an outstanding employee .. This is the only hotel I will stay at in the Mammoth area, with many short term rental condos or homes, it's always a hit or miss, not at Westin Mammoth :rooms have been updated a year or two ago and feel fresh and clean, all rooms have a balcony, which you go out on and breath in that mountain air. This past trip, I had a few "bumps" during the trip and a particular employee did an outstanding job in addressing my concerns, his name is Duncan. I can't say enough kind words in regards to his professionalism and his sincere kindness .. Duncan truly stands out as an exemplary employee, another employee that always greets us with a smile and sincerity is Julio in the Valet area, kind smile and greets us by name. Besides a few other employees that could definitely use further training, with greeting and acknowledging a Gold Elite Marriott guest and not to treat anyone as non caring and flip it as I was treated, this being directed to the employee that checked us in, I would give her a 1/8th of a star. The five star is 97 percent for Duncan. Thank you again Duncan for your assistance in resolving a few minor issues.

Yelp
This is my favorite hotel in Mammoth. 2 minutes walk to gondola station that can take you up to the slopes. Walking distance to to the village and all the restaurants/shops. Clean/beautiful rooms with good view. However, they can work on their dinning area, given that we went in the peak of ski season, their restaurant seemed so dead with very boring options.

Lori V.

Yelp
We absolutely loved this hotel. So much that I doubt I'd stay anywhere else in upcoming trips to Mammoth. It's beautiful, clean, comfortable and has all the amenities you'll need to enjoy a nice vacation. We had requested an early check in and the front desk graciously checked us in hours early. However the first room was occupied, luckily the guests were not in the room when we walked in. That could have been super embarrassing. The second room, had a do not disturb sign outside the door and had the safety lock in place. I kept a good sense of humor, but my husband was a bit annoyed. That quickly changed when we were given a complimentary upgrade. The room was BEAUTIFUL!!! We loved our stay and the village was just a few steps away where we enjoyed some nice meals, ice cream and lovely walks. If you enjoy running or cycling, there's plenty of safe roads sidewalks outside the hotel too. I noticed a local shuttle that drops off at the hotel as well. The hotel offers free parking and they're pet friendly too!!

Yelp
This hotel needs some changes. Pros: Good price Convenient Professional Staff Cons: Called asking for towels, water, etc The towels were scratchy and not heavenly The bed was uncomfortable and HOT

Jill S.

Yelp
We decided to visit for my birthday, booked a king upper floor suite (Aug 27-30). The room was amazing! We slept well no noise at all.Our room was on top,7th floor, amazing views of mountain and village below. Cleaning staff very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the bar last night.Highly recommended! We wished they had firepits outside but luckily we had a nice gas fireplace in our room

S R.

Yelp
Stayed here overnight when had to fly in for a family emergency. Happy I was able to get a room last minute in a great location. PROS--again, great location. Right across from Gondola, village, all of the ski action. Room was very clean (except for the house phone, which was oddly grimy amongst the rest of the spotless area), with a fireplace, comfortable beds, nice toiletries. Excellent view. Free covered parking. Had a delicious and sizeable breakfast from room service, delivered by a charming server. CONS--back to the room service. No menu in the room, so called down to front desk. Young lady who answered stated, "you should have been given a welcome letter with a QR code for the menu." I let her know I did not. Response? "Well you should have. You can come down here and get one if you like." Um, no. The purpose for room service is NOT leaving the room. I called back and was told to look up the menu on the web and then call back and place my order. For the price of the stay, service should be seamless. The hotel was lovely in many ways, but definitely overpriced. Maybe if there to ski and took advantage those amenities, the cost would not seem so outlandish.

Yelp
Always hard to be critical of a resort once loved. But unfortunately the Westin Monache at Mammoth Lakes has declined materially since our visit just last year. We are here in August 2023. Mammoth is a resort community best known for skiing. But there is also significant mountain biking and other summer activities here. So I was surprised to find a non-operating passenger elevator, and suggestion at check-in to use the service elevator or stairs instead. (one guest elevator was working)) Beyond that, there was a sign on the door of the Westin Kids Club, alerting that it is "closed for the season". At the height of summer vacation? In the Westin restaurant the service was spotty, unfortunate for a place with good decor and a great menu and reasonable (not excellent) food prep. But check out the exterior windows in the restaurant: they look like something cobbled together in a middle school shop class. Not professional glazing or carpentry. Very surprising. Next comment is about something that won't last forever: there is currently heavy construction on the site. Looks like they are building condos or maybe serviced apartments, either of which could share services and amenities with the hotel upon completion. If that's what's going on this could give a shot of profitability to a needy hotel. One bright light was the design, fit and finish and excellent housekeeping in our guest room. But that should be a given in a Westin property. And with the other concerns, not sure I'll be back in the short term.

Ryan L.

Yelp
The beau and I stayed here for a week in the off season. We got upgraded to a one bedroom suite since the hotel was empty. The parking is free and convenient underground on three levels. The staff was nice. The restaurant in the hotel was actually good. There's a large fitness studio and heated outdoor pool and hot tub. The room itself was nice with a small balcony and fireplace, however, it's the worst layout I've ever seen. There were so many doors, several of them locked for mainteance stuff. The kitchenette was convenient and furnished. The dining table only had two chairs and was really awkward to sit at. The bathroom had two doors but only one light switch. Also there was no light in the shower so it was really dark. I thought the bed wasn't very comfortable either.

Rum E.

Yelp
Under construction, so the rooms that are available are smelly and dumpy. They basically leave you no choice but to upgrade to a higher floor for same price of larger room you booked. Oh and if you love your room above screaming kids in a pool, facing a wall, or a dumpster, they've got you covered!

Emily S.

Yelp
Our room was small, not nice furniture and very expensive. Yellow snow outside, dogs howling and barking when owners leave them. I love dogs but this is not a place to bring them. Location nice, but I won't return to this property.

Tina A.

Yelp
This property does not measure up to a Westin experience. We will not stay here again. While the room itself was nice, and we had nice views, the dining offers here leave a great deal to be desired. The on property restaurant is awful! Two of five of us ended up with food poisoning and the hotel didn't seem interested in helping us out. Not sure why anyone would stay here.

Rob N.

Yelp
I was promised an upgrade to a room with Skyline Mountain View, when I checked in, I confirmed we had the Mountain View was told yes. When I go to my room I found I got the parking lot view which isn't what I offered. When I let the front desk know, they acknowledged the error and told me that they would mark it as a note for next time.

Katie M.

Yelp
The hotel is truly lovely. It is set right in the mountains of mammoth. It's beautiful, big, great views, walking distance to lots of restaurants and places. My room was clean, modern and spacious. Even with a kitchen! I went to the gym and it was small but perfect for my needs. And right by the pool and spa. Nice to look at while working out

Annie L.

Yelp
Our first time in Mammoth Lake over the weekend and stayed 1 night. Great location with the Village just a 2-3 min walk filled with shopping and restaurants. The lobby was huge and the guy who checked me in was very welcoming. He offered me wine and went over all the activities around the area. Free parking lot downstairs. The room was decent size for 2 and the thing that stood out to me was that it felt like home. There's a mini kitchen. Large comfortable bed and pillows. There is even a READING NOOK (so obsessed) with pool views down below. Room was nice and clean. Bed & pillows was comfortable and relaxing. The TV was small but we didn't even end up using it. The bathroom sink could be larger since there wasn't enough room to place your personal items on. Room looked a little outdated but was nice and clean. Not many complaints. FYI - Mammoth Lake is expensive. Summer is in full swing so expect to pay $300+ per night before taxes and fees. Mammoth Lake area has also the most expensive gas prices I have ever seen. $5.60/gal. Be prepared if you are traveling in the area.

Don M.

Yelp
Second time visiting Monache. It's a solid 3.5 for a room but the room was unmemorable. The hotel is in a great location and self parking is free. Avoid the Whitebark restaurant. Overpriced drinks and I got sick on one of their burgers. Front desk was very friendly and I actually recall my interaction with the young lady who checked us in and checked us out. A+!

carol z.

Yelp
Over accommodation of the room made the room very tight. Jacuzzi was broken and made a loud noise when it was turned on. Pool was not warm. Too many dogs including the pool area. Nice location and beautiful views. Short walk to the village. Kitchen and fireplace was nice to have. Nice closed private parking structure. Fireworks were a plus.

Peter C.

Yelp
If you need a home away from home, the Westin Monache is definitely worth a look. The location to The Village is key. You're walkable to a ton of restaurants and the gondola that takes you to Canyon Lodge at Mammoth Mountain. A few highlights: -They have dedicated indoor parking. If a storm blows in, everyone else will be cleaning snow off their cars, while your car is nice and toasty parked inside. Worried that it's a long walk from the parking structure to the hotel? Think again. It's about 5 steps from the elevators to the parking garage. -The rooms have a kitchenette so that you can store juice, milk, yogurt, etc, boil water & microwave popcorn or yesterday's leftovers. So handy. -We were lucky & got a 2 bedroom suite and it was pretty big. There was a living room with comfortable sofa, eating nook, 1 bedroom with a closet and 1 bedroom without a closet. However, near the entrance there is a coat closet with plenty of room, so that was great. The bathroom had a toilet, sink, stand-up shower and a separate tub. The hotel website says that check-in is 4pm, so we didn't rush our drive from Los Angeles. Unfortunately, when we got there at 4:15pm (thinking we had left the hotel enough time to get everything ready) our room wasn't ready. The person was super apologetic, though, and gave us breakfast vouchers to make up for the inconvenience. That was super nice of her, and the grab-and-go breakfast is pretty good. Really happy with my stay here, and if you are part of the Marriott Bonvoy program, Westin has joined that family of hotels.

Dexter V.

Yelp
Hmmmm... it's 'okay' ... it's not great. Yes, it's the end of the ski eason but... I'm guessing 'some' of the people are just burned out. Really tired of "staffing issues being used because of Covid" ... come on guys... pay more and you'll get good people. Super friendly and helpful bellman/luggage guy/valet with great information about the trails and timing of the runs to get a good day in... THANK YOU! The restaurant in the hotel is there if you're starving... what once was a 'sushi style Benihana' is still very much a HUGE eyesore in the middle of the dining room... Why not get rid of it? The food was 'average' and service was 'okay' ... at least they were friendly. Do yourself a favour and check out other restaurants in the area... Overall it's an 'okay' place but nothing compared to other 'higher end' Marriott properties that claim to be Monarch or 'premiere' properties

Elizabeth H.

Yelp
Great hotel! We spent 2 nights here and were very pleased. The room was a 1 bedroom suite and it had plenty of room for our family. It was clean and updated. The staff were all friendly and helpful. They have complimentary coffee in the lobby in the morning, which was great! Parking lot is very accessible to the elevators, which we were happy about. Pool area is nice with very comfortable lounge chairs. We'll definitely stay here again when we're in the area.

Vee W.

Yelp
This is the our 3rd time staying at Westin Mammoth. It's the most convenient hotel in town! It became our annual winter transition 1 mins Walk to gondola and villege! Plus TESLA CHARGER!! Breakfast/ dinner is back to pre-covid standard. And they recently did a facelift to thte suites, no more old wood furnitures and brown sofa lol

Jane T.

Yelp
1st time here, Hotel located in a good locations close to the ski village, but when we 1st check in the hotel it was running with single counter 1 staff which isn't convenience for groups. a "dog friendly" facility, fun to meet hair friends at elevator, hallway and almost every where. During the stay I had chance talked to 2 front desks staffs-Omar & Jenny, they both professional & friendly. We Was but disappointed by our room the 1st night, it's a large room of 700+ sqft 2 bedroom suite, but only with single not very large bathroom, very limited counter space isn't working for us, ends up we switched to a different room next early morning (2 bedroom/ 2 bath) , this room was awesome which I definitely recommended to anyone.

Harvey D.

Yelp
This Westin Marriot Bonvoy is a must stop if you want to combine great skiing and comfortable easy luxury hotel. We came here in last days of November and the prices were half of what they are in January and February, so I recommend coming here in November, beginning of December. Mammoth us not crowded so is the hotel.

Robert T.

Yelp
We arrived very late and exhausted after a long drive from Fresno. Reservation had been made months before. Once we finally made it to our room, we discovered it was one of only two wheelchair-accessible rooms in the entire place. This was October, and the place couldn't have been half full. We were too exhausted to go through the process of changing rooms, so we plopped down and went to bed. In the morning I took a shower in our wheelchair-accessible shower. We ended up having to mop the bathroom floor after every shower because the sill of the shower was so low. We asked the lady at the desk why she'd stuck us in that room and she got all defensive. No real apology given. The gas fireplace seemed to be missing logs, so it just looked more like blue flames. And lastly, there must have been some flaw in the seals around the window, as it shrieked like a banshee when the wind blew. Otherwise a nice room. Food at the restaurant was just so-so. Service was good, but likely because there were so few guests. Shuttle driver was helpful. Overall it gets a C+.

Erika J.

Yelp
I submitted the review below to Marriott, but figured I'd also post it here. If you booked a room there, I recommend you find somewhere else to stay. I was really hoping the comments I read prior to booking were one off situations, but it doesn't look like it. For this being a 4 star hotel, our stay was very disappointing. The first issue we encountered was our room wasn't available until 6pm! Luckily we left later than expected so it wasn't an inconvenience. The hotel not only smells like a dog pound, the carpets are ripped and stained throughout the hotel, but the worst part was that the rooms need some serious help. The furniture in our room was not only stained but the couch pillows and sitting chair have all been ripped apart. The bottoms of our feet were black after walking around the room (I'm assuming from how dirty the carpet is) so we wore our sandals the entire time. The patio had what looked like a dog pee stains all over it. Finally we requested foam pillow since I am allergic to down and the pillows we received were pillows an inmate in prison would get. They were flat, the pillow cases were too big for them and there was zero support from both the pillows and the mattress. How is this a luxury hotel? We spent over $800 and this is what that gets us? I've spent less money in Vegas and had a cleaner room than this. Needless to say, this will be our first and last time staying here. Disappointing.

Tiffany T.

Yelp
Service and rooms were great! Kids enjoyed the pool. I wish it was a tad bit more warm, but the kids did enjoy it for the most part. The Village is literally down the hotel steps and across the way, which is really convenient.

Tami D.

Yelp
This Westin is a beautiful property, but the service here needs a bit of work. The property is wonderful. Our suite was great. It was nice to have a small kitchen. Everything was clean and spacious. The views from our little balcony were stunning. When we arrived at the hotel on a Friday night, the front desk was friendly enough. I was curious why the front desk did not have very much knowledge about the hotel or the surrounding area though. They later explained that they were new to the area. Later, when I tried to order a small salad from room service, the gentleman recommended that I buy snacks from the front desk instead. This is a fairly large hotel, and I wondered why I couldn't get a small bite to eat from in-room dining. He was also rather curt and unprofessional. Our stay was pleasant enough. The resort is beautiful and our suite was really nice. The service left me raw, but I'm hoping we came on an off-weekend. With a little bit of work, I hope this Westin location will improve its service.

Darline G.

Yelp
Came here during the COVID pandemic the first weekend of March 2021 with our corgi, Starfox. It was the first time being able to bring our dog with us and for sure had to pick the Westin Monache Resort while up in Mammoth Lakes to stay. They are super pet friendly and it shows/helps. The hotel is directly across the street from the village and gondolas so perfect if you're going up for views or to ski/snowboard. It is also just 10 minutes driving to in-town shopping for groceries, other restaurants, or a drugstore visit. Being that we were still in a restrictive tier (purple i think) a lot of normal services were not provided which was understandable - no daily housekeeping in rooms unless you requested extra/refillable items, and reading material in rooms to get acquainted with the area. We were given a printed map with recommendations and opening times for businesses in the village, so that's a plus. Another different thing to note is that currently only one family or up to 2 strangers is allowed in the elevator at a time. Just note that this can definitely add to your wait time. For those with pets, they offer poop bags near entrances and also offer dog walking as well for an additional service. Pretty neat but due to such high altitude and not being as receptive to the sudden change (our normal is 600 feet above sea level and its about 8100 feet above sea level here), our dog and I had some altitude sickness 2.5 days out of 3 here. The hubby, a snowboarding entusiast, was just fine (or I think he just wasn't complaining). The weekend we went it was fairly warm for the mountain area (40s during the day) but super cold and windy in the later afternoons. Anyway, we had the king bed suite with a view (no balcony) and were staying in the top floor. By the window was a really high up window seat which can be where your pet can be. Ours just preferred to be by the fireplace or on the cold bathroom tiles. Go figure. Very clean in the hallways, rooms, and lobby. Great service provided and super friendly. Will definitely come back here with or without pets next time we go to Mammoth. Oh and check-in/check-out is a breeze but just have a representative from your party do that for covid measures. I also forgot to mention that the TV in the rooms are not smart tvs and also have no netflix/hulu/etc - just regular cable so bring a firestick or similar. They do have a DVD player in the room as well. Mini fridge in the kitchen with 2 electric stove top for minor cooking/kettle heating. There is also a microwave and coffee maker with pre-packaged bags that make "4" servings...not really though. The kitchen utensils, plates/bowls/cups are available in-room with a sink/dishwasher. Masks on at this point in time.

Yelp
From a Marriot Ambassador this is one of the biggest disappointments in my 150 plus nights per year! The front desk staff are rude and unresponsive! They made us wait until 4:00pm exactly to check into our 2 bedroom suite. They claimed cleaning delays however we found the suite to be dirty and not close to the cost of 1000 per night. If it were not for the great views out our 3 balconies the night would have been a disaster! I would look for options when visiting this hotel adds ZERO value.

Yelp
Resort looks great with its upgraded modern look. Conveniently located across the village. The room is somewhat smaller than what I had hoped, bed was decent, however, our bathroom was for person with disability. Everytime we shower, the water floods the bathroom floor as the barrier is not that deep. We ended up using the towels on the floor and frequently requested for new ones. I would probably look out at other resorts in the area next time,

Yelp
Definitely a five star hotel and a must stay for anyone who are going for skiing in mammoth. Situated right next to the village. It is very convenience for the skier. It is opposite to the village gondola that takes you right to the base of the ski mountain. You just have to walk down a long stairway and cross the street. Many reviewer complain about having to walk downstairs in their ski boot. But I have to tell you that you don't have to walk down in your ski boot or carry your ski at all. Because You can use their ski valet option!!! It is free of charge(included in your resort fee already). First, you drop off you skis the night before your ski in the hotel lobby bell service, give them your room number. They will "move" your skis across the street to their valet room(situated at the ground level of the gondola). In the morning, You wear your tennis shoes, carry your ski boot with you to the valet room, they will give you your skis, and you can ask to store your shoes there. There is an elevator to go upstairs to the gondola, you just don't need to walk stairs in your ski boot at all. When finished skiing, back to the valet room, they will store your skis and ski boot again for you till the next time you ski!! So convenient! But i guess a lot of the hotel guest doesn't know this because I saw ppl carry their skis and board across the street all the time. Parking is free and included in the resort fee too. But the best part is this hotel is: YOU CAN BRING YOUR DOG WITH NO EXTRA FEE!!!! This is one of the most dog friendly hotel that I ever see. I bring my baby with me, and was greeted by so many different dogs. All of them are pretty well trained. I never see a dog have an accident in the hotel or bark uncontrollably at all. They do have rules on dogs, like no dog in the restaurant, no dog leave alone in the room unless you bring your kennel. But every dog behave so well. And it's the most funny scene in the morning, when at 7am, all the dog owner walk their dog outside for potty!! My dog feels so welcome everywhere in this hotel. Definitely will come back next year for spring skiing again!

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here last weekend for our five year wedding anniversary. It was such an amazing experience. First of all, the hotel is beautiful. We stayed in a newly remodeled room that was so comfortable, modern, and spacious. It even had a fireplace. We also brought our dog with us on our trip and she had a great time too. She even got her own heavenly bed! The staff here was also amazing. From the front desk staff, to the bellhop, to everybody that we encountered working there. Very friendly, accommodating, and welcoming. I cannot recommend this hotel more.

Yelp
We decided to stay here on our way back to Las Vegas from Lake Tahoe, we loved it so much we decided to stay a second night.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. I grew up in Mammoth as my family had a condo in Mammoth that now basically backs up to the Westin, so I was very framiliar with the area. The rooms were recently renovated and it showed, because everything was clean and nice, didn't show any wear and tear and everything worked! What we really appreciated about the hotel was that it was dog friendly and for once we didn't feel we were given a "dog" room. Check in was quick and efficient. The room was pretty and clean and the room service was great with nice portion sizes. We got their kale caesar salad multiple times during our stay and I am craving now! We can't wait to stay again.

Yelp
Other than location, this Westin really doesn't have much going for it. Sleep quality: poor. Not sure if it's the bed or pillow or the combination of the two, our neck and back ache every morning. It's horrible. Service: ok. Items (towel, blanket) get delivered to room in about an hour. Room is decently clean. Checkin: horrible. I had to check in multiple times because the room wasn't ready until after 4. And each time, they ask for my number but somehow don't make it into the system for notifications. Location: excellent. It's across the street from the gondola to Canyon Lodge. Ability to check in equipment at the gondola is great. Amenities: poor. It's too bad that they didn't make this Westin a resort like Beavercreek. There's really nothing to do on-site other than the small pool and fitness gym. Service at the ski valet: excellent. Friendly and efficient. Overall: poor. For its price and level, this Westin is really subpar at so many levels.

Yelp
We live in Los Angeles, so driving to this location was like we were in a different country! Beautiful property. We were placed in a newly remodeled room with a chimney, so it was beautiful. The room service was great and delicious. Best grilled cheese with ham I've ever had with!

Yelp
Came here for my anniversary. The hotel staff are always super friendly and willing to help with anything like finding a nearby hike or restaurant. There is a huge parking garage so parking is never a problem. You can take the elevator to your room from the parking garage. There are hand sanitizers by every elevator and signs that tell you to stay 6ft away from others. The rooms are really nice and pretty big. The television has a lot of good channels. The pool and jacuzzi are huge! They are located on the 2nd floor and is for hotel guests only. They have tables and a barbecue by the pool area. I wish they would put in a bonfire area somewhere around the hotel. The hotel is on a hill so when you want to walk through the village you have to climb A LOT of stairs. I love coming here and will be booking another weekend here soon.

Yelp
It is so tough to rate places like this because there are so many positives, but more than one negative and those do get in the way of your enjoyment. I will enumerate my list with positives (+) and negatives (-). First the positives: + Location, location, location--being a (long) stairway away from the Village Gondola, it is the absolute next best thing to being mountainside. Further making it attractive is the ski valet station directly underneath the gondola that holds your skis and boots. That alone is great, but you also get express priority in boarding the gondola. + The service greeting us was outstanding--They took all of our luggage, brought our skies to valet, were super friendly and made sure we had all of our needs met. Full COVID protocols were implemented by the staff (less so with the guests). + Rooms were well equipped, and the beds were typical Westin quality (i.e. good)--Also liked the waterfall showers. Incredible views in some of the rooms. + Parking is great in the basement parking garage--Very convenient and room card activated garage door. Parking spaces are very narrow, you'll likely have to have someone get out before taking the space. + The room service had a quality menu for generally reasonable prices (although they add service charge and tip). They also delivered quickly. + The heated pool and hot tubs, as well as the fitness center, were well-equipped and maintained. + Our friends were delighted to bring their dog. Now onto the negatives: - There are only two elevators, and one of them was non-functioning for part of our stay. That leads to really long wait times to get from floor to floor, even if both are working. - The ski valet needs to have some operational training--More than once my skis and boots were mislabeled, and we had a friend whose skis were missing for a day. They found them, and made sure she had skis for the day, but they really need to improve their operations. -The internet was very inconsistent and slow in general--There is no streaming, the only television is limited Direct TV, and no desks (there was a dining table, so it has a potential workstation). If you're hoping to work and you need video, you likely need another place. - Our housekeeping was very inconsistent--We asked for cleaning every other day of a five day stay. They came once, even after we asked for it. - Some staff are less informed than others about the hotel amenities. - The cost was, well, mountain pricing during Christmas, so maybe other times it's not quite so gouging. We had a great time, even with the bumps and misses. It's not perfect, but it's hard to staff a hotel during the pandemic and many, but not all, of the staff were well-trained and capable. I'd stay again, but would also consider other options.

Yelp
hotel is great, rooms are large, amenities are great, location is close to mammoth ski and village. the 3 stars goes forwards white bark restaurant. staff attitude is terrible, but front desk is amazing. hotel tends to run out of a lot of stuff.

Yelp
Let me start by saying that if you read any of my other Yelp reviews, you'll see that I'm not a complainer. I look for the best in every restaurant, hotel, etc., but for this one, it was a fairly major disappointment. - The reservation process: I reserved through Booking.com at the "best" price I could find. It was a good price given the expected level of resort, and I couldn't find a better price anywhere, including on the resort website. Fast-forward to one of my interactions with the manager on-site during my stay, she told me, "the hotel website is ALWAYS the best price. No gimmicks." ...and yet, the hotel website was a few hundred dollars more expensive than Booking.com. I'm not sure how the manager figures it's cheaper on the resort website when it's not cheaper, but just something to factor in. - Pre-Arrival Before we arrived, we received an email explaining COVID procedures. They mentioned that they didn't clean the rooms once we arrived, that linens, towels, trash, etc., must be placed outside for a contact-less exchange, etc. We were good with the expectations, but noted that they claim to do deeper cleans in between stays to ensure guests are in a "clean" room. This is where the disappointment really started. - Our room No bells and whistles. It was a tidy room. However, we noticed that there were 4 towels despite a reservation for 7 guests (it was a 2 bedroom suite). One miniature bottle of wash, shampoo, and conditioner in each bathroom. If you travel, you know that one bottle is basically 1 person, single use...maybe 2. So 7 people expected to share 2 mini bottles of wash, shampoo, and conditioner. Obviously, it means we will be calling for more, which obviously means "contact" increases. Irritating, but oh well. Then, we open the door to the balcony. I'm not kidding you when I say it was literally the dirtiest balcony I've ever seen in any hotel I've ever stayed in. Dirt everywhere and cobwebs everywhere. I wish I had taken pictures it was so bad. When I called housekeeping to clean it, they sounded irritated, but when the guy showed up to clean it, he was grossed out and started taking pictures himself so he could show the manager. It took him 30 minutes to clean the balcony, so keep in mind that a quick broom sweep takes 30 seconds, so 30 minutes should give you an indication of how dirty it was. After he left, the manager called to apologize and said that as a courtesy apology, she wasn't going to charge the resort fee. I told her that Booking.com already charged the resort fee so her not charging it wouldn't do anything, she argued that the resort fee is charged at the property and not through Booking.com. This is a slight digression because Booking.com claims that the final booking price includes the resort fee, and the resort claims the resort fee is never charged until you arrive. In theory, you are paying a "resort fee" to Booking.com AND ALSO to the resort because neither is clear on the fee until you've already been charged. Anyway, we argued for a minute and I accepted her apology and the fact that I wouldn't see a resort fee on my bill (that I didn't expect to see in the first place), so I was good to go. By then, it was dinner time. Our room had a small kitchen so I got out some stuff to make a sandwich. The knife in the block had food stuck to it. Gross. I ended up hand washing everything I intended to use. Spiders in the room, webs everywhere- clearly no "deep" or any other cleaning. I'm convinced hotels aren't even cleaning during Covid despite claims to clean ever deeper than before. - Breakfast The reservation included "full breakfast" for all guests. The resort tried to claim it was limited to 2 people per room (2 rooms so total of only 4 free breakfasts). Since 3 of the people in our group had to cancel at the last minute, it worked out, but the resort tried to argue that breakfast wasn't included for everyone even though our printed registration for the room said it was. We were given vouchers and told it was carry out only - not a problem. Instead of "full" breakfast, however, we were allowed to pick 3 items off of a menu of 8 items...juice, coffee, milk, mini pastry, fruit, yogurt, egg burrito, and/or egg sandwich. Not quite full breakfast, but whatever. And, it didn't change the entire stay. And the egg burrito was filled with a pepper mixture (like fajitas) and the egg sandwich was like a baked egg with some weird seasoning...but again, whatever. Kids who don't eat except pancakes, waffles, bacon, toast, scrambled eggs, cereal, etc., won't be enjoying breakfast. - Service Staff acted irritated by every single request. Towels? A trashbag of 5 at the door. Body wash or shampoo? 7 body washes and 1 shampoo in a bag at the door. I asked if they had floss and they said no but did have a sewing kit...then they charged us for it. lol. I would not recommend this place. It's a great location, but service sucks. It's dirty. Apparently I'm out of room on the review :(

Yelp
3.5 stars. Service is super friendly and the location can most certainly not be beat. Love that the suites all have fireplaces...but the rooms themselves are a bit dated. Comfy beds, pet friendly...easy access to the mountains and town. We accessed the gym and it's ok...for being a luxury resort, definitely expected a bit more.

Yelp
I stayed for 6 nights with my family. The hotel is in an maxing location in the village and is right next to the gandola taking you to the slopes. The hotel is immaculately clean and tidy, housekeeping do a really good. We stayed in a 2 bed suite with mountain and pool view. The pool area was nice but for someone reason the removed the sun lounger cushions for a couple of days. There's a pool and 2 hot tubs, they say the pool is heated but it's still quite cool. My only real complaint is the lack of variety in the food. I'm vegetarian and they only had on dish on the dinner menu suitable for vegetarian which was a mushroom ravioli. The mushroom ravioli was served in a thin broth and it was pretty inedible. There's a great selection of restaurants and cafes to suit all budgets with a short walking distance of the hotel.

Yelp
This location was definitely affected by the pandemic. It was a ghost town during my visit here for work. Worked at the 17 bed hospital down the street and this hotel was recommend to me by the clinician. Conveniently located across the street are some delicious food choices which are a part of a mini promenade; I highly recommend the Shelter Distilling restaurant (it was recommended!). Overall, friendly staff, convenient garage parking, fast elevators, and beautiful style to the property.

Yelp
I am also a Marriott ambassador and all I can say about this hotel is please stop the Asian gay hate. They said I didn't have pay for the date that I didn't stay even how generous of them. I left in the middle of the night fearing that I will get be persecuted and hurt. I have never had to do that.

Yelp
A friend recommended the Westin Monache for a ski weekend. He was right. Super convenient, right across the street from the gondola to the Canyon Lodge ski center. Mammoth was very busy but the staff did a great job making it all work smoothly. Greg at the front door help with bags, Parking, and great tips for food. The front desk staff was efficient and friendly even under a lot of pressure. Juli Ann and Ella at the ski valet were very helpful and got my kids to drink water before hitting the slopes. Wait staff at the bar was quick and helpful. We will be back.

Yelp
Definitely wouldn't recommend this location. Staff were rude upon arrival. Wanted to borrow a cart to bring up our stuff since we have older travelers and taking equipment up from the garage can be a lot for them. They refused because we're a private rental. Really leaves a lot to be desired
