Five Zen5es

"The classy dining room can be divided by Chinese-style perforated wood partitions and hold as many as 20 guests each, making it perfect for business dinners or family gatherings. The menu highlights various facets of Cantonese cuisine, with signatures like boiled beef ribs with baked sea cucumber and onion oil, and stir-fried shrimp. Flaxseed-crusted grilled chicken boasts silky and succulent flesh enrobed in crispy, nutty skin." - Michelin Inspector

We have faced with surprisingly negative experience, when today morning we asked a waiter on the 1st floor to call for a taxi to an airport. The waiter (with glasses) said, the payment will be counted by meters. We had no options but to agree. Then he called a taxi (number ACT7800) and then we got there. According to google the way takes 42-45 min. We have driven 1,5 hours. The meters counted 205 yuans, but a driver started meaningly demanded 80 yuans more for high-speed road. We could not argue with him, so we paid. And 285 yuans for 1,5 hours to an airport - this is NOT a hotel expertise we would like to rely on!

Excellent stay. Book the room comes with breakfast and dinner buffet. Both are outstanding, dinner provided lobster and salmon wellington. Recommended to try their dinner buffet. Everything is prefect except the location is a bit far to some of the attractions area.

Location is A+. Rooms are a bit dated. But service and food are lacking. If you're a vegetarian, the dinner buffet is a travesty, you'll starve. The night staff are like robots, Pauline couldn't understand that they should remove the breakfast charge if breakfast wasn't open at the time I have to go to the airport.

One of the best hotel experiences ever. I have stayed here for Canton Fair several times in the past few years. The location is super convenient, as you can just walk out the back door and directly into hall 16. Being able to take a break amid the chaos of the fair and relax is priceless.||Beyond the perfect location, the hotel itself is spectacular. Everything looks brand new and polished. The rooms, especially the bathrooms, are luxurious and welcoming. The fitness center is well maintained and has everything you need. The lobby even has a refreshing smell. ||On top of everything, the staff is top notch. From check-in to the club lounge staff, the service is impeccable. I will be back again and again.

Very convenient if you are visiting Pazhou exhibition center. New and clean room. But breakfast choices are quite limited.

Everything about the hotel is great, however the service is what saves its flaws. The hotel can improve with updated tech for the phone charger, energy output of refrigerator, and charging capability of USB ports (amenities/facilities). The reception is aware of this, and helped accommodate need. The staff has strong bilingual skills for those more novice with translation devices. Much appreciated. I would say the check-in/check-out staff as well as concierge and restaurant staff carry the needs more so than other hotels. However, the hotel need not have prices so high compared to nearby hotels considering location amenities limited in the Expo/Poly area. I feel the Marriot Bonvoy umbrella can ensure Westin implements better rates. I give a 5 on the location as it relates to the reason of my visit for a conference. I did not leave the island with the exception of Canton Tower buffet, as there is enough to do for a short weekend (beer park, metro museum, ancient port). The room service menu choice was perfection, and way better food options than the revolving restaurant at Canton Tower (compare price).

Guangzhou was even more satisfying because of my stay at The Westin Pazhou. The customer service was impeccable. Janvhou and Angelina were very helpful and hospitable and though English was challenging at times, I was able to supplement with Google translate to communicate with the attendants. Food at the lobby was comparable to American prices so you are better off eating outside. The location while quiet is not within walking distance to where the shops and restos are. I suggest you have DiDi downloaded on your phone to call for a ride. The pool was awesome - they had a steam room and a sauna and you can rent a swim cap but I bought mine for about $7 USD. If you are going to splurge on their food, go for the buffet breakfast as the dinner was so so.

It is a relatively old hotel with an older style design and facilities in the room. There is no coffee machine in the room which disappointed me a lot but there is a really good buffet breakfast so maybe you can bring a coffee from the breakfast place to your room (they provided paper cups for takeout.) The room is spacious but I think most hotel rooms in China are spacious and this is not the best one because the two beds are close which is somehow embarrassing if you sleep that close to your colleague. There are some partitions in the room, and you need to close that partition before you use the shower room and toilet. There’s another embarrassment because the partitions can not be closed very tightly…My room has free access to the executive lounge, which offers finger sandwiches and snacks in the morning and evening time. There are alcoholic beverages provided during happy hour and I found many people went there for dinner because they provided hot dishes during happy hour too. The bedding is not good, the mattress is not comfortable enough and the quilt/ duvet seems too thick unless you make your room temperature 20 or below. The only better thing in the room is the charging dock for my iPhone & Apple Watch🤷🏼♀️ My room faces the canton fair exhibition centre, I cannot say it’s a good or bad view. There’s a free gold cart transportation offered for exhibitors (not every day and no service from 12-2 pm), which can help you a lot if your exhibition area is not at Zone C (the hotel is just next to Zone C, around 10-15mins walk to Zone A and B.
