The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa, Avon, Vail Valley

We’ve stayed here several times. Pre-kids a decade ago and now again recently. Loved it when it was just us and a dog. Now, with kids who ski, we find this pool and hot tub combo to be less than ideal. The pool is too cold and hot tub too hot. We stay at lots of neighboring properties during ski season and find them to be much more pleasant for post-skiing swims/soaks. Also, would love to have signature Westin shampoo, conditioner, body wash as opposed to different scents for each.

Our stay at The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa in Avon was simply outstanding. The location is perfect — right by the Eagle River with stunning mountain views and easy access to Vail and Beaver Creek. The atmosphere blends luxury with a true Colorado mountain charm. The rooms were beautifully designed, spacious, and spotless, offering breathtaking views of the river and snow-covered peaks. The resort amenities — from the heated pool and hot tubs to the fitness center and spa — are top-notch. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely made us feel welcome. Dining options were excellent, and the convenience of the Riverfront Express Gondola right outside the property made exploring effortless. A perfect mountain getaway — relaxing, scenic, and impeccably managed. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the Vail Valley!

My family stays here annually and we love the resort. The shuttles are convenient to get to Vail and Beaver Creek. We love the hot tubs, and the kids loved the hot coco bar. The kitchens are stocked well enough to cook a thanksgiving feast. We look forward to returning again!

We go here every year and love it. Ski in and ski out into Beaver Creek is great and the short drive into Vail is a breeze. Hotel is always tip top, the amenities are fantastic, and you can’t beat the Mountain View’s from your room. Highly recommend.

I love everything about the hotel except the parking lot. They really need to paint arrows on the wall or paint columns using a few different colors or something to let people know where to go. The attached photos don't do justice. You follow the existing sign and it feels like you are going straight into pillars multiple times. They charges a separate required resort fee even if you don't swim or work out.

My wife and I Love this resort. The rooms are large, comfortable and very well appointed. The fireplace is a very nice touch. A fridge and wine fridge also add to the luxury of the room. The location is beautiful. WE were attending a wedding. This venue was perfect. The ceremony was outside with beautiful views. The after ceremony cocktails were delicious as was the food. The food service was professional, efficient and amazing good. The reception inside was also room and beautifully decorated. The dinner service was impeccable. Every person at every table being served at precisely the same time like synchronized swimmers. A truly unforgettable experience.

I had an amazing stay at this property. The rooms were spacious and the views from the resort were spectacular. I want to take the time to personally thank Jason, Wendy, Sam, and Caroline. They made our stay enjoyable. We will be back soon!!

This is a beautiful facility but, unfortunately, we had numerous problems beginning with our arrival. We were told that they were experiencing problems with their computer system. Despite the fact that we did not arrive until 8pm, we were unable to get into our room until after 10pm. In addition, housekeeping left our villa door open all day. Luckily, nothing was taken. I had several conversations with various managers about our concerns and would like to recognize Mr. Seth Dade who was reasonable and as accommodating as he could be. Thank you again, Seth! I truly hope they get their computer system working again as this is a fabulous hotel!

We were trying to get to choose between this place and the Ritz resort in Bachelor Gulch. I'm so glad we chose this one. There weren't too many reviews online, and one ridiculous review brought down their score, so I hope our photos help. We stayed in the two bedroom residential suite with a Mountain View and this is hands down the most stunning hotel/restort we've ever stayed in. I have stayed in many beautiful hotels, but nothing quite as lovely as this place. Our room was a 1,400 square foot apartment with two bedrooms, a full living dining area of full windows, a fireplace, a full kitchen, a foyer, a storage closet, a washer/dryer, three bathrooms and a absolutely gorgeous balcony and a full length hallway. The Westin is always incredibly clean. I assume they are very particular about their cleaning staff, because I couldn't find a thing wrong. Definitely a beautiful place.

The Westin is perfect for families and romantic getaways. The staff were so warm and helpful to us, even giving our son a welcome stuffed animal to make him feel right at home. It's the little things that speak volumes with their service. But the big draw for us are the stunning views, cozy lobby, and great hot tubs next to the river. I wouldn't call this Westin fancy like you might see in a metropolitan city. It's mountain chic and you just can't beat enjoying a margarita next to the river.

The Westin was great for a weekend stay. The rooms were very clean and the beds were so comfortable. The bar in the lobby was very nice- cocktails were great and the live music every evening was very enjoyable! Complimentary cookies and hot chocolate were served in the lobby each afternoon. The free Ski valet was much appreciated and the people working there were so pleasant! The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful when we asked to checkout slightly later. They are also dog friendly.

My yelp family - read and trust the recent reviews. As a Bonvoy silver member, my add is that I was overcharged by several hundred dollars. The rest of my experience commiserates with the other reviews. This is not worthy of the Westin name anymore.

1030pm on a Saturday night with 2 young children and wife in the room - we were awoken by another guest with a WORKING key opening our door. Best SETH DADE and Christopher could do is say "this was a glitch and not their fault..." STAY WITH CAUTION - YOUR ROOM MIGHT BE GIVEN AWAY TO ANOTHER GUEST!!!

My husband and I love our stays at this Westin. We recently stayed there and I left behind my diamond necklace that he gave me on our wedding day. The Westin staff turned it in and it was promptly returned to me. Exemplary service. Thank you!

This hotel is not updated and doesn't feel like the typical Westin especially for the price. It is walking distance to restaurants and their lobby area is nice but the rooms are awful. The beds are incredibly soft and very uncomfortable. The bathrooms are not updated and felt old. We had a room with Mountain View but it was also right above the bar where folks would drink and the hotel would play music until 10pm. After a long day of activities I just wanted to go to sleep and it was very frustrating.

We spent a portion of our honeymoon here. We were really pleased with the room. It had a seating area, quality TV setup, window with a nice view, and robes for each of us. The bathroom was very clean, and extra spacious unlike other hotels. The hot tub looking up at the mountain was great. The Mexican restaurant near the lobby had a great selection and tasty happy hour drinks. We had no issues with parking/valet. One of the valet guys even told us about his favorite hiking trail in Vail, which we enjoyed (Booth Falls: it was a little difficult for these Oklahoma people lol, but still beautiful). The Starbucks in the lobby was an added bonus. I think we will be returning someday soon :)

We have been weekend vacationing in Avon for the past several years, staying at the Riverfront Westin Resorts established a high bar of opulence. This resort offers both, hotel rooms and ownership villas. As an owner, I have stay in the villas and the hotel side. The villas provides an accommodating sojourn with a full kitchen, a dining room, a living room, and bedrooms, depending on the selected villa plan. As I expected, our two-bedroom lock-off villa was quite luxurious but not pretentious, with great views of the mountains, spacious, clean and includes private balconies and an in-unit washer and dryer. Either the hotel or villas will accommodate anyone's stay. This particular Westin resort met my expectations and did not disappoint in matters that were noteworthy. The staff expressed care, hospitality, charm, pleasing attitude, and professionalism. At every request, the staff delivered and followed up with a call to ensure my satisfaction. The property has an outdoor heated pool for year round use and several hot whirl pools. One would think reservations are required with COVID, but the resort opted for self policing and limits the number of people with signage. If you ski/snowboard, there's a gondola that will take you to the base of the mountain in minutes. Overall, I am overly pleased with my stay and the accommodations the resort provides.

Stayed here over the weekend for what was supposed to be one night with 6 couples but when we got snowed in for a second night, the hotel staff (especially Scott) was incredibly helpful in getting us comfortably situated for an unexpected 2nd night! The showers were incredible, the location is perfect, breakfast was delicious and overall vibes were unmatched. I hope to stay here again and would recommend to anyone!

Absolute greed. You inconvenienced my family and I by taking our money and claiming it as yours. We showed up and you tried to charge us $3k for the night As top tier status with Marriott you refused to work with us to get a room for the night and were not sold out. You fought me all the way when I argued against you holding $1500 as a no-show penalty when I did show up. I would recommend to everyone NOT to stay here. God forbid something happens that will require a 30-day cancellation period no matter your status. They are independently owned and this is the only Marriott property that will treat top-tier status like trash. Karma

Horrible customer service. Will never book with this hotel again. The gentleman at the front desk was short, rude, and unhelpful. There are better places to stay.

The Westin is a sumptuous, luxurious resort and so charming. Absolutely breathtaking!!!!!! The studio suite was a perfect size. It was so welcoming and cozy. The view from the balcony was beautiful and dazzling. I just wanted to keep gazing. The staff was amazing from valet parking to any needs you may have. They were eager to please and go out of their way to help. I just love the entrance court and the open restaurant/bar dining area. The fireplace was warm and enjoyable for sure as I sat and enjoyed a well-made White Russian. After that, a trip on the ski lift just because. This was so enchanting as I was able to view the area and take in all the mountain beauty. After dinner, I went out to find the infinity hot tub and pool. There are three (3) hot tubs, and all of them had a different water temperature, which was nice. I would say about 6 to 8 people would fit comfortably in each one. I didn't venture out to the pool as I was enjoying the hot tub. Yes, a mask was still required while in the hotel. It's a beautiful place to see and experience. Thank you for a classy mini vacation.

If you want to be treated well, stay here! I've stayed here a few times and it's always amazing. The service is top notch, the rooms are clean and comfy, and the amenities are fantastic. The hot tubs outside are so relaxing and clean. The gym is top notch too! Everything is great but the prices are high. You pay for what you get; quality! I also I love how they do a lot of things to keep the hotel more sustainable. I appreciated the refillable water container in bedroom instead of plastic cups.

As i write this workers installing ice maker in new frig. Hotel is under major construction until summer of 2024. Be prepared to be moved from room to room. Lost two days out of seven day stay. Rooms are missing appliances, furniture and incomplete build out. Constructions noise and banging start at 9 am sharp. Hallways have screws dropped from workers. I will stop here. i am Westin owner, very upset by experience. No offer of compensation for inconvenience.

Convenient if you are snowboarding/skiing because they have the gondola right outside and also offer a shuttle to beaver creek that leaves at the top of every hour. The room was big and had a kitchenette and fridge. They also have filtered water by the ice machines so you don't have to buy bottled water. The resort fee is 100$ PER NIGHT, not per stay so make sure you account for that when planning. Also if you stay 5 nights you get 20% off, BUT by 20% off they mean they remove the lowest price day. So if you stay Wednesday-Monday and the price is 250$ Thursday and 350 Saturday they just take off the $250 not the average of the 5 nights. Also you still pay tax on the 5th night.

Mmmm so I know this review is going to come across as spoiled but I thought the Westin was just OK. Now there were some pros: dog friendly. But I just feel like I have had better experiences at other resorts I have stayed at in Vail Village. I am a Vail girl and Sonnenalp is usually my go too; but visiting my sister and family while they were in from out of town they were staying here so I decided to make it easier and spend the most time with family I would to. I had my dog Jäger with me, and it was cool that he was allowed but I just feel I have had better experiences traveling with pets at other resorts. Both the Four Seasons in Vail and the Sonnenalp send up dog treats, a dog bed, and dog bowls when you're staying with a pet and I just think it's the customer services of these other resorts that go above and beyond! Nothing like that was done at the Westin, and I know I probable sound bougie as heck but it's things like these that make memorable experiences and why I recommend those resorts to anyone that asks. No balcony, the fireplace was meh. I will say it was clean which is of course nice. Tub is meh. No Nespresso's in the rooms; just me coffee. Obviously there is a bit of a price difference between those but I guess I just feel that any mountain resort should make some of those features better; it is the mountains after all. And I was just in a basic room, but I did also visit my sisters suite, which had plenty of room, but again was just pretty average if you ask me. I will say the valet staff was very nice and probably the friendliest / best customer service of everyone!

We spent 2 nights at this property. Our room was upgraded to a very nice suite. The property is beautiful, but we were a bit disappointed in a couple issues we had. First, the toilet got stopped up, we had to call 3 times to get someone to help us. It took over 3 hours to get someone to come to the room and take care of it. Second issue - there was a terrible mold smell under the sink. It was so bad it gave me a head ache - we had to open the door to get some fresh air. We ordered room service the first night there. Food was 2.5 out of 5. Not a very good value for the price. The upside was the views were just spectacular. As a Marriott Ambassador level guest, I was disappointed with this property.

We have stayed here a few times, the view is beautiful and it is located near a neat trail that winds through town around the river. There are several good local restaurants within walking distance, as well as the Mayan Restaurant located in the hotel is good. Our room was clean, nice. No room service during stay unless requested (due to Covid) but that isn't a problem for us. There is an outdoor pool along with a couple endless hot tubs facing the mountain and river. The workout facilities are top notch (yoga studio, Pilates studio, as well as regular gym equipment. I visited the spa and would highly highly recommend Yoshi for services. We will definitely be back!

Ok, time for a very fair and very lengthy review. Buckle up because I'm ready to give you the details. First off, as an overall review I was very happy with my stay at the Westin. It was in a great location, and the amenities were nice. The hotel staff was friendly, and the views were outstanding. There are a few reasons though why I can't come around to giving this place 5-stars. Let's start with the positives. POSITIVES: 1. The hot tubs were amazing and pretty much perfect. Trust me, I have been in my share of hot tubs at hotels and these were some of the best. Salt water, so you could avoid the chlorine burn, and they were infinity edge. The best part is you could lay on these edges and get a perfect mix of cool air and hot water on your back. The views were also nice from the hot tubs and it was great to hear the river roaring by. 2. The beds were comfy and the air conditioners were quiet. I absolutely hate loud air conditioning units that keep you up at night. These worked wonderfully and had an actual real thermostat that worked. 3. The gym was great, well equipped and clean. Also had amazing views. 4. AMAZING views from the rooms up to Beaver creek. CONS: 1. WAY TOO MANY DOGS. I understand the whole dog culture and dog friendly hotels but my gosh, everyone had a dog at this place. One time I went to get ice just down the hall, came back to my hotel and noticed there was a ton of black dog hair on my bed as soon as I laid down. I'm not allergic to dogs but on occasion my eyes got watery and nose stuffy because of the dogs. 2. Resort fees and parking fees were way excessive. $32 for parking and $35 for resort fees. That adds up like crazy. I mean I get that it pays for the hot tub and gym, but feel like that should be included. 3. Breakfasts for ELITE Marriott members wasn't that great. Again, overall a nice place but these negatives affect this from getting 5/5. I will for sure be back, but to put this over the top, they're missing just a few things. Good work though Westin! Can't wait to visit next summer.

We had a wonderful stay at the Westin Riverfront. The rooms, lobby, spa, restaurant, gym, and pool/hot tub were all spectacular. Everyone we interacted with on the staff was helpful and delightful. Lev at the front desk and Chase at the concierge desk both went above and beyond to provide terrific customer service. Thanks for a great trip. We'll be back!

Love the location love the sky valet services- love that I can just walk right out the door to the sky lift. Upon entering The lobby, you'll be met with this amazingly tranquil aroma - I could even smell it through my mask. The staff super friendly and welcoming. The rooms had everything we needed to prepare home cooked meals and the restaurants were fantastic too when we wanted to be served. The spa and pool were very clean and exactly what we hoped for for our getaway. We will definitely consider staying again.

Came here for work in the early winter, so I can't speak about its convenience for skiing or much around town. I do know that the staff is excellent, from the bar in the lobby to the team at the restaurant and those working the gym. The gym itself is killer, filled with pretty much you'd expect from a high-end facility. Rooms were clean and modern. Wifi worked great. Can't think of any room for improvement here!

Edit: dropping my review from five to three. Eight hours after checking out, I realized I'd left my $200 Philips Sonicare toothbrush behind. I call and Seth (night mgr) explains the house keeping management is not there at that point, which is understandable as it was late on a Saturday night. He'd leave a message for them to call me in the morning. No call comes, I call back Sunday afternoon. I'm told the lost & found process is housekeeping turns found items into management, management delivers items to "loss prevention", who then calls me. They'd expect that person to be calling me soon, likely Monday. Monday, no call, so I call, am put through to the loss prevention voicemail (ext 2039 with no actual greeting), so I just hope it's correct and leave a message. Tuesday, I call again, this time I'm told the loss prevention person has their weekend on Monday / Tuesday, so it'd be Wednesday. Why did Sunday tell me that person would call me Monday then? Wednesday, no call, call and am told I'd need to speak to Seth again, not sure why, so they put me to his voicemail. No return call Thursday. Friday morning, someone finally answers who can check lost & found, my item is not there. So, waste of two hours of my time in addition to the lost item. What would have happened if I'd left something even more expensive? --- My BC experience is this property and the Park Hyatt. At the PH, if you're a globalist, you won't be paying resort fees or parking, while at the Westin, regardless of tier, you're paying $35/day for resort fee and $35/day for parking. Both properties are easy for skiing, the Hyatt is served by a true lift (Centennial Express 6) to real terrain, until daily resort close at 4pm currently. The Westin has a gondola that runs until 5p, but its three minute ride takes you to Lower Beaver Creek Express which shuts down at 3:30p. Lower BC's 3.5 minute ride requires then jumping on Upper BC Express (also 3:30p close) which is a 9.5 minute ride, and then you're finally at a peak that has some non-bunny terrain. So, just getting to two blues and one diamond slope is going to consume seventeen minutes if there are no lines at all. Park Hyatt, walk to the Centennial and its 10 minute ride gets you to a huge part of the main mountain, including after 3:30p so you can get a few more laps in. If you were hoping to get first tracks on a powder day, the Westin is not going to make that possible as you'll be about 30 minutes behind everyone who started at the main village. Next point of comparison, the breakfast. If you're enjoying complimentary breakfast via Hyatt or Marriott benefits, the Hyatt's is phenomenally better, served as a very premium buffet in the 8100 restaurant, compared to a few pre-planned options in Westin's Maya restaurant. Both resorts have fantastic ski valet; the Westin valet also seemed to be staffed by the same people every day, which made me feel far better about tipping because I confirmed the communal tip jar is split among the crew I was interacting with every day. At the Hyatt, their ski valet is also excellent, but you'd see all kinds of different people inside and outside, from day to day, and it made me feel bad not being able to tip all of them. They have self parking, Hyatt does not; costs the same, but if you don't like to hand over your keys, Westin has an advantage. I stayed in a one bedroom residential suite which was great. The furniture and finishes were clearly more recently updated than the Park Hyatt's fireside suites, and then you add a huge six-seat dining table, full kitchen, washer/dryer, separate bedroom with its own full desk. This room allowed me to accomplish a long work/vacation stay thanks to all the room and space for my wife, my kid, and I to all have our own areas to work and school without bothering one another. There are outlets everywhere. The regular bed and its pillows were one of my best hotel beds ever, and even the pull-out sofa bed my kid slept on was surprisingly comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped, and I mean not missing a single thing; toaster, blender, cheese grater, every utensil you could need, containers for storing leftovers, etc. The washer/dryer worked great and included detergent plus fabric sheets; we were able to pack far less for our extended stay knowing we could wash our own clothes in suite. The bathroom was well equipped with shower plus bath, and two sinks, but is en-suite, so your main room sofa sleeper guest will require access through the bedroom. I will note that if you're an early to bed early to rise person, or coming from east coast and need to be up at 5am for work/school obligations, you may want to consider requesting a room not overlooking the pool. Parents seem to use the pool as a replacement for evening baby sitting, so you will get to enjoy teens and pre-teens screaming endlessly until about 9:30p each night when they finally tire out or are called in.

Beautiful property - great job Housekeeping!! Management needs a little more education. Front Desk, Supervisor didn't explain all the features of the property to us but told us to check with Concierge. As we sat by the fireplace, we over heard the same Supervisor/Front Desk Agent spending time with new Guests, explaining the features of the property, where to eat etc. Why did we not get that same first class attention, as Platinum Guests??? The Food and Beverage Manager needs some attention as well. The property was pretty well stocked with Guests. Why would you only have ONE person staffed to take breakfast orders on a very busy Sunday morning? Needless to say, it took an hour for breakfast (only 10 minutes to eat so you can calculate how long it took for someone to finally take our order- after continuing to raise our hand to get someone's attention - and for the food to arrive at our table). Never did our coffee get refreshed. The food was good but was spoiled by the experience.

I came here for a work retreat a little over a month ago, and it was a great getaway for our physician and hospital leadership team. I got to bring my husband and baby along as well, so they got to enjoy the amenities while I worked. I'm still a bit jealous that my boys got to enjoy that heated outdoor pool. The suite we got was spacious with a kitchenette, a little living area, and a huge soaking tub/shower with Jack and Jill sinks. There was complimentary coffee and tea, though we did sneak down to the Starbucks in the lobby for our caffeine fix instead. The bed was comfortable, the service at check-in was friendly, and they sent a crib up for us upon request. Location is great: It's an easy stroll from The Westin Riverfront to a number of restaurants, the rec center, and the library. There is an option to either valet or self-park, though valet is the way to go if you're staying at the hotel. I'd love to stay here again if we come up to Avon again on our own time.

Our first time visiting the area and we were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful yet comfortable, elegant yet inviting this property was. The staff was friendly and helpful and everything around the property was easy to find. Every room is a suite with full amenities to make it feel like home but still on vacation. Would recommend and hopefully will return.

We were on the patio for a celebration. We did not use the sleeping rooms. The staff was outstanding - seriously accommodating. We had several snacks that were all exceptional. A few of us had burgers or salads as well. They were very good. The dressing did not overpower the ingredients. The pizza looked good - liketheones we got in Italy. The view from the patio was one of nature's best. Did I mention the staff was exceptional- with a sense of humor. Well done!

Stayed here for a couple of nights and I must say that it delivered what it supposed to? The warm atmosphere greets you as you enter--large fireplace with the cozy living area creates an illusion of being at home hence the feeling of relaxation. The rooms textile consists of wood floors, marble tiles, and carpet--a great combination to create a good flow in the room interior. The fireplace under the TV was a refreshing touch, something that takes my breath away as well as the view outside with the mountains covered in snow. Just beautiful! The spa is amazing! Pilates etc classes are offered and if you'd like to swim in laps, the pool outside is ready. Their shop has cute work out outfits that's to die for! Employees are efficient, friendly, and very warm. I will definitely come back---as a matter of fact I'm already planning a trip back for spring! Hiking here I come!!!

We are back. Love this hotel, their location, the vibe, the rooms, the heavenly bed, the pool, the workout area, the classes for exercising and the breakfast. We are on our second 4 night stay. We will be back again. East West rocks!

This gym is severely lacking in workout equipment and Multiple staff members don't seem to have a clue what's going on. I was honestly shocked. It's basically on par with the local rec center that charges 1/4th the price.

We went during August 2018.   The place was beautiful and I would love to give it 5 stars.  However, one of the concierge was terrible.   Marla at the concierge was GREAT and accommodating over the phone. Unfortunately, she wasn't working when we arrived.  The other concierge (did not get her name) was rude, unhelpful, and condescending. We asked her for some recommendations of things to do around the area - she could not give a good respectable answer. We asked about hikes in the area, she replied "yes, there are hikes". We had to ask which ones would you recommend, to which she replied "look at the map I gave you". It was like pulling teeth to try to get some non-rehearsed recommendations. When asked about where would be a good lively spot to walk around and check out, she replied "you could walk around anywhere, like in the lobby".    The gym is really nice. They offer a variety of exercise classes but you have to pay even though the paper we were handed at check-in said certain classes were free. Note: you have to pay for parking (valet only) $30 per night and resort fees of $35 per night plus you're taxed on the resort fees. It all adds up and wasn't worth the price.

We stayed here for a couple of nights and just loved it! It was a terrific experience and one which was way beyond most hotel stays. The staff was fabulous. They were honestly the most helpful, resourceful and polite people I've ever encountered at a hotel. They truly wanted to be there and help out in any way they could front desk, concierge, restaurant staff --everyone. The hotel has a new, fresh, though cozy lodge-like feel to it. It has an awesome common area in the lobby with tons of seating, great fireplace, and bar. You can sit and hang around, order food and enjoy the ambiance. Free hot chocolate served at 4:00 PM, also. There is a Starbucks on site, and they begin serving Starbucks coffee in the hotel lobby at 4:00 AM --yes, not a typo. There is also a full-service restaurant and small cafe-style restaurant onsite, too. The rooms were great. They were spacious and has a small cooktop, microwave, and refrigerator. The bedding was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was a great size. From the lobby, you can rent skis and gear if need be, and at the end of the day, the concierge will take them from you and store them until the following day without charge. There is also a ski store immediately at the resort and a gondola to Beaver Creek right outside --no bus rides needed. I honestly cannot say enough about the resort. It truly was a fantastic experience and would go back in a minute. OUtstanding spot.

We came up from Texas and stayed here for our 20 year anniversary. We've stayed at various resorts and this wouldn't be our favorite but for the area it was great! We had Mountain View with two balconies. The room was upgraded to a residential suite which was more than we needed but very large and nice. The beds were not very comfortable to me or my husband with the sheets not being very soft. Their towels however were large and super soft. I enjoyed a massage at the spa and we enjoyed the Maya restaurant and Starbucks being at the hotel. The creek by the hotel makes for a nice walk. Overall a lovely place we enjoyed staying at!

We come here every year and love this Westin. About a 15 hour drive from Dallas. Location is great for quick trips to Vail or Beaver Creek. Request a mountain view. Hot tubs are large, numerous, and HOT! Wish the pool was warmer. Take a walk along the river. It is beautiful. Service has always been good.

Beautiful resort in a picturesque little village. The suite was very nice with a complete kitchen to make you feel at home. We had a very nice Mountain View and the shuttle to the village makes it very convenient. One complaint was that one elevator was out of order so we all have to share one working one. It took sooo long to get up to our room and back. They should have offered a discount or some sort for this inconvenience. Service was just average.

My wife and I had come in from a chilly walk in the Avon evening. I wanted nothing more than a place to relax with good warm drinks before returning to our condominium. The Westin was just about 1/2 mile away, and we walked there. It was cold despite how bundled up we were, and we sat down at a table by the bar. I counted perhaps a dozen people scattered about, and half a dozen wait staff including the bartender. After five minutes of warming up, no one had come by or, for that matter, looked at us. So we got a drink and dinner menu from the bar and perused those for another ten minutes. We aren't snobs, didn't make dirty looks, or raise our fingers to snap for attention. Nor are we unfamiliar with some of the more upper class world, having traveled around the world and stayed at some of the best places. We enjoy it all, rich or poor, just as long as people are friendly. So, we just made small talk, closed the menus as a helpful hint to any visible wait staff, and talked some more. Ten more minutes passed by, and the only entertainment was the bartender, still engrossed with his solitary customer, having a jolly time chatting about something or other. By this point it began to seem like we were....perhaps....some sort of unworthy street trash? I dunno. I'm retired from both the fire service and from the military, though I currently teach paramedics and still work as a paramedic to keep busy. My wife is an educator, and a senior chief fire officer for our state's fire department. We have worked long and hard for what we have, each of us having worked many minimum wage service jobs en-route to our current status, and we are also eminently respectful to those around us regardless of profession or income. As both of us have worked customer service our entire lives, neither of us could imagine being like the present bar staff and ignoring a couple as we were, so we left. No one said anything, which was fine actually. We wound up going to a far better, friendlier, and probably higher quality place in Avon I'll call "Joaded Loes". While Westin loves its name, and understandably so, "Joaded Loes's" claim to fame is one this Westin apparently lacks: Customer service. In fact, "Joaded Loes" entire ensemble of furniture probably costs less than one of Westin's toilet seats, but we happily enjoyed what Joaded Loes gave us, something that cannot be stocked or bought: A sense of welcome, camaraderie, and warmth. Thanks to our shitty experience at Westin by the River, Jennifer and I wound up having a great time at a really nice place. Thanks "Joaded Loes!" I live there from the beginning it is the worst and the new manager brian is a jerk he treats the owners badly and has a terrible temper. ... it used to be a terrific place and has gone down hill ... I am an owner there for 15 years ... go somewhere else ...it's a great place and great location needs new management asap

The rooms are very nice, spacious, clean, comfortable. The housekeeping is excellent. But the room service is the WORST. I ordered the grain bowl soup with salmon and a glass of wine. I received a thin, watery lukewarm soup, no salmon and a corked, sour wine in a DIRTY GLASS. yes, a dirty glass. and....I was charged $81! I have ordered this meal at least 4 times before and it was delicious. I know it can be good. But, this night, the room service was the WORST. Although I protested at the front desk, they did not refund me. For $81 I got an inedible dinner, no apologies, no refund.

We have stayed here several times in the past year, and we keep coming back. We love this place!!! The staff is so sweet and helpful. They sent a bottle of wine to our room for my birthday which was not necessary, but very appreciated! The amenities are fantastic and lots to do for everyone. Make sure to bring your own s'mores makings for the fire pit outside. We hiked Beaver Lake Trail this trip. It a gorgeous hike that is little trekked this time of year. Thank you, Westin! We can't wait to come back soon!!

Beautiful luxurious resort!! So friendly and so much to see and do!! We let them them know we were here on our honeymoon and they sent up a bottle of champagne so not expected!! Beyond satisfied

The Westin never disappoints. This particular one is awesome for it's area and staff. Having your very own gondola in the back is so awesome to start with. Driving in took my breath away. The backdrop as we drove in was the snow. The hotel's back is to the mountain and the Beaver Creek. You can't get any better than this location. Your playground for snow sports is just right behind the hotel. The lobby decor is both warm and befitting of its location. Roaring fireplace will keep you toasty after a jaunt outside. The staff are awesome! The two valets guys that are always ready to spring and help to the gorgeous concierge who's loaded with knowledge of the local "must visit" spots, the front desk staff who's ever willing to answer your questions and grant you your every wish. A world class restaurant on site. Free Wifi :). A 100% green (LEEDS) hotel. Lastly, the house director who came to see us at the restaurant to see how we are after the pile up on the freeway on the way in. Walking distance to a couple of restaurants in the area and Starbucks.

We had a great stay at The Westin. Room was comfortable and well appointed. Super convenient ski rental facility and gondola right over to a chairlift for Beavercreek. Fun shuffleboard table and helpful and friendly front desk people. The only sour note was one of the concierges. The first one we met was great. Incredibly helpful, got us the hotel car over to Vail Village and restaurant recommendations. The second concierge was rude and annoyed by my presence there. I asked what options there were for transportation to the airport besides Uber. She helpfully told me not to Uber or Lyft, saying they were not authorized for airport drop off, so that saved some hassle. Then I asked what other options there were and she said the car service was $190 plus 20% gratuity, if she could even still get it same day. I asked about a bus or other option and she said "I don't know - I don't take the bus." No one gives a shit how she gets around town. But it is her job to know how to get to the airport from the resort she works at. Turns out a cab is $110, and the county transit bus picks up right across the street and goes to the airport for....$ 4. We took that - super easy ride, empty bus, we were there 45 minutes later.

I love that hotel; stayed and am continuing to stay there - modern with some rustic, mountain touches. Friendly and resourceful staff. The hotel is close to restaurants, bakeries and shops in Avon. Great views from hotel rooms!

This is for a stay that I had over the 2021-2022 New Year's holiday so hopefully things have changed somewhat since then since I'm going back in two weeks. I've been a guest of Westin Riverfront every New Year's with the exception of 2020 (COVID) for about 10 years. NYE is my birthday and I always stay at the Westin Riverfront Resort during that time since I'm locked out of the Villas due to blackout dates (I'm a Westin timeshare owner). In all my various visits (whether with the Resort or Villas) I have NEVER experienced such poor service. I say that as a person who loves Beaver Creek and flies in at least twice a year from the east coast to ski. I stay exclusively with Westin. I made my reservation with points in March of 2021. I stay exclusively at Marriott properties and have traveled quite a bit last year and this was by far, the worst customer service I experienced. My Marriott profile does say a high floor, away from the elevators. I did mobile check-in two days before I arrived and asked for an early check-in since my flight came in at noon and a room facing away from the construction on the east side since I didn't want to wake up to noise. I didn't get into my studio until 7:00 pm. The first studio they gave me was on the 2nd floor looking over the driveway directly above the garage. Not acceptable. I went downstairs and asked for a new studio. I was offered the same exact room, two floors higher. It was nominally quieter. I didn't get settled in until 9:00 pm that evening. No excuses, no drink tickets. Just, "we'll call you when your room is ready." My usual experience with Westin Riverfront over NYE has been a welcome package (usually wine and chocolate) for my birthday and an upgrade to a mountain view or larger studio. If I have to wait for my room, the front desk gave me a couple of drink tickets. I recognize almost everyone that worked at the front desk year over year. This time, no one was familiar. I understand that the resort was crowded during the holidays and was extremely short staffed so I tried to give them grace at all points. Imagine my shock when Westin put a $4,000 hold on my credit card on a room that was booked on points. I went to the front desk to ask them what happened since I found it impossible to fathom how a $35/night resort fee for 6 nights could add up to that kind of credit card hold. The front desk acknowledged their mistake but told me they couldn't do anything about it until the final bill had cleared since I had already checked in. Luckily, I was able to afford the rest of my activities using other credit cards, but I can imagine if it happened to someone else, this would have been very difficult. This wasn't the only accounting error though. When I got my folio the night before checkout, I was shocked to find out that I was charged for parking for every night of my stay. My old roommate from Denver drove up for one night and parked in the garage. I went down to the front desk when she left to let them know that she was no longer parked in the garage. They tried four times to get the error off my folio. We are staying at the Westin Riverfront Spa & Resort through VBRO and one of the owners of a two-bedroom unit at the end of February. My cousins and I are staying there at my suggestion. I'm hoping that this experience is much better than what occurred during NYE.

I would really give this property 5 stars for the location and beautiful interiors of the main lobby restaurants and rooms but: Friendliness of the front desk oh boy they will help you yes but their face says it all " I hate my job" ... well management really have to meet with your front desk and explain that guest isn't trespassing guest is there to pay for comfortable stay . Pool was closed for maintenance Man and woman locker rooms and showers closed for maintenance Main Mexican restaurant rented for private event Washer with wet clothes broke and we needed to wash them by hand mid night , front desk said - we are terribly sorry - no you should attest offer resort fees refund with not working pool and half of the amenities shut down And wait ... it's a mandatory $60-$30 overnight valet if you book with Westin directly Save yourself 30 and 25 resort fees and book the Westin villas - it's the building next door . Spacious interiors almost same decor and it's half the price . We will come back but to the villas

Beautiful property but service leaves a lot to be desired. Admittedly stayed late season but was shockingly bad. The ski concierge made no efforts to help with boots even though 3 staff behind the counter talking. The one and only restaurant closed for a private function and not communicated - ended up with lobby burger in a very sterile environment. The rooms are ok - a little dated and mine smelt like someone had smoked in here previously and a little dank. Pool and hot tubs are amazing! The gym, spa and yoga are also great! Shuttle to the slopes was nice service although would prefer if ran more frequently. Great if you can get it cheap but otherwise stick with the Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch.

Well maintained property, gorgeous location, and the spa was divine. Do not pay extra for the "mountain view" rooms - the only way to see partial mountains is if you go out on the tiny balcony and crane your neck to the left - not visible from the room. Had to rate 3 stars because of the room not being what was advertised, but we still had a great stay.

Beautiful place suffering from lack of staff. The restaurant Maya was the worst example, by far. They sat entirely to many people for the number of staff. The service was terrible and the food only marginally better. It's a shame Westin would allow this to happen. At the very least, Maya should cut the occupancy in half to maintain a quality experience.

I had the opportunity to spend a few days at the Westin while my husband had work meetings and since my baby is 10 months old, we spent plenty of time in the lobby/exploring the hotel! Things I appreciated: the gym was incredible! It has anything you would need and more (Peloton for example). The beautiful spa which provided a wonderful massage. Clean locker rooms. Gorgeous mountain-side pool and hot tub which you must enjoy! Live music at 4 each day was such a treat. Downsides: basically just 1 restaurant (aside from the bar restaurant). Would have liked a bit more variety with that. The kids area looked great, but they wouldn't let me take my baby in there to play. I understand from a liability perspective, but was just looking for some space for her to crawl around. I would definitely go back!
