The Whale Tea

I visited The Whale Tea on September 18, 2025, at 3:20 PM. The café was very clean and cozy, with a welcoming atmosphere. I ordered the bubble crème brûlée, and it was absolutely delicious! Special thanks to Chloe Li and Daniel Mo for their friendly and attentive service. I will definitely be coming back again! 100%👍

I recently visited The Whale Tea and ordered a large mango slush on a hot day. The menu is fantastic and it is the perfect cozy spot to grab a delicious drink. The shop is nicely decorated, it does not have too much in terms of seating, but the owner makes great use of the space to make it feel cozy. I enjoyed the packaging for the drink, along with the boba pearls that were used which complimented the drink well. Definitely worth checking out.

Not too sweet. Its my favor tea shop in the neighborhood. I dont like tea that you can taste like they made from powder. This store dont have that kind of taste. I did see one of the staff made the tea with actual tea leaves. I do recommend this store.

Has two kiosks inside for ordering! Convenient and that means apple payyy. Good menu for options. We got jasmine milk tea and rose milk tea. Medium size is round on the bottom type of cup so lowkey feel like a small. Bubbles were good and the milk tea is not watery so we were a fan.

I use to love this location. The boba would always hit. Now, not so much. I don’t know whos making the boba but they need to stop. Staff is always friendly and establishment is always clean.

I should’ve read the reviews. I never tasted the La Croix version of bubble tea till I went to whale tea. It’s as if the lychee flavor came from lychee that was in the same room as the ice being blended. Im going to assume inconsistency because others have had good experiences. Im sorry for the negative review but it was $7. I hope the recipe can be adjusted so that you get what you pay for. Very nice store and a pretty nice spot, slower service than I’d expect, but hopefully it can improve.

Whale tea is one of those random boba places you never really hear about until you try it randomly. It’s now my new favourite spot. Consistent every time. Delicious. They even put watermelon in your boba. I’d choose this place over the big name places any day.

Very cozy spot! I am excited because I found this chain in New Haven, during one of my Summer trips in Connecticut. Small team but very hard working. It just opened so... please give them time to adjust and manage the customers and online orders. Trying 2 of their simpler teas... brown sugar milk tea and the grapefruit tea... look forward to trying more! Tip: order from machine for their running special (buy 2, get 1) & have patience and enjoy!!!

Very friendly served as soon as I walked in. I ordered a taro milk tea. You can choose your sugar level. I took it to go. When I got home the powder was coming into my mouth from the straw, it was not mixed well. This place has potential, it has recently opened.

First thought after I took a sip was "dang I gotta come back and try other flavors." The store is small and I wouldn't say it has comfortable seating. But clean enough and the workers were nice and efficient. I was going to go to a chain store but then thought I'd give this place a shot, glad I did. I'd recommend and will def come back to try some of the other popular drinks.

Drinks: 3/5 could be better. I got this strawberry drink Service: you order, you wait, you get, you leave. N/A with the scoring. Ambiance: not really a place to hang, just order grab and go.

Decided to try this new boba tea shop at the Brooklyn location. It's fairly new, came in for their buy one get second half off deal. Ordered their Brown sugar Boba and Oreo creme milk tea. With two staff persons behind the counter my order took a long while (they also served phone/online orders) to make. The wait was almost close to ten minutes for two drinks- staff seemed a bit frazzled with incoming orders- and a customer in front of me was disputing the bill because of the deal. To be quite honest, even with the deal- the drinks are still a bit expensive. I really like the Brown sugar boba drink (tapioca was bouncy)-bobas were pretty QQ. The Oreo creme milk tea was okay. My order came in a pretty shopping bag, an added nice touch. Since 80's tea shut down, this will be a new variety in the neighborhood.

It's buy 2 get one free for their soft opening. Asked for suggestions and the rep was kind to let me know their popular items of milk teas. I've ordered: The Whale (coconut milk), Crème Brûlée Taro Milk tea (asked to add Boba) and Creme brûlée Matcha milk tea (asked to add Boba). I like how you can ask to adjust the sugar levels and how much ice you would like in the drinks. I enjoyed "The Whale" drink the most it was creamy and refreshing at the same time with pretty blue coloring, coconut milk with peach jelly and perfectly sweetened. Definitely going to go back to try other drinks.

Great options for bubble tea though it's like dime a dozen for bubble tea places. This is a new option where service is quick. When you get in you will be out just as quick but with a great drink with all the toppings you want/like. The theme is interesting (Whale/sea animal mascots) to make it stand out, the location is kind of a hole in the wall but nice interior.

New boba store near bay parkway. I've tried their signature milk tea with boba and the blue whale crystal. Both were good and they have a unique topping- taojiao which differentiates them from other boba stores. The blue whale crystal - coconut milk with taojiao is not too sweet and a healthier alternative to boba. Their boba is also cooked well and sweetened well. I usually get their milk tea with no sugar and boba since the boba is already sweet enough. Service is very friendly and they have many deals going on when I went - 20% off for one drink for students, and a buy 3 get 1 free deal.

Nice selection of bubble tea. You can inform them how much sugar you want and amount of ice.

New and coming bubble tea and/or other assorted drinks spot! Upon entering, there is a kiosk where you can submit your order. You can also order at the register if you'd like. There is standing room by the high top tables, but no seating available. Currently, there is a promotion for buy 2 get 1 free. There is also a student discount for 20% off any single drink. We ordered three drinks: a Brown Sugar Ginger Milk Tea, Mango Fresh Milk, and Peach Oolong Tea. We got the Brown Sugar Ginger Milk Tea with tapioca and it tasted very good with a decent ginger flavor. The tapioca was on the house, which we appreciated! The Mango Fresh Milk tasted refreshing with a subtle mango flavor to the drink. The Peach Oolong Tea with passionfruit popping boba tasted sweet and refreshing as well. Service was good and relatively efficient.

A fancier-looking boba place in the neighborhood with many options and nice service. However, the last 2 times I have gone, the drinks have been lacking flavor. I ordered both their oolong tea and their coffee crystal drink. The oolong tea tasted almost like water, which surprised me because oolong tea typically has a unique flavor. The coffee crystal drink wasn't as watery tasting but also only had the tiniest hint of coffee and milk flavor; the herbal jelly inside of it also had no flavor or sweetness. Both drinks didn't have any noticeable sweetness either, even though I did not change the sugar % when ordering. Their store looks really nice and I have wanted a trendy store in the neighborhood for a long time, so I hope they can improve their recipes soon.

I had a large passionfruit fruit tea. I loved the taste and sugar level was imperfect for me. They are having a deal for buy one get one free (if I remember correctly). The drink I got was really affordable for large size.

I'm sorry for the rating but I am tired of expensive bubble tea that doesn't taste good. They offer b2g1 so gave it a shot. Had the Whale Crystal which looked pretty enough, but it tastes like water at 100% sugar level. I paid $8 for water. I do not recommend, and I WHALE not come back. EDIT: The Mango fruit tea tastes better but I paid extra for toppings and it didn't have any.

Love this place, been here multiple times and the drinks are all consistently good. Also love the coconut milk option for my drinks (goes well with all the stuff I usually order).

Small and simple. My new go to boba place in Bay Parkway. All drinks are handmade by the workers. Usually only two employees. I really enjoy the Whale Crystal drink. Some drinks sometimes comes with topping already, so make sure to ask incase.

Best bubble tea flavor in the area :))) I love it very much and ordering everyday for afternoon tea time

Super friendly staff. I asked recommendations, they truly ask what i like. Like if I prefer fruity taste or milk based drink. It was new year eve with raining. So they recommended me to have hot ginger milk tea. It was so good. I can tell the milk tea is not made from powder, and i can taste a very strong ginger favor. It really warmed me up. I had also tried their cold drink before. It was super delicious. It is not super sweet (even with regular sugar level). So different than other bubble tea stores nearby. And they are on promotion now, made the buy even more worthy. Will definitely recommend this place.

Best price in town. They brew with the real tea. I love the taste and precise of drink making they showed. So happy they opening up in the area.
