The Wharf is Expanding to Fort Lauderdale | Eater Miami

"I'm watching the arrival of The Wharf Fort Lauderdale later this year at 20 West Las Olas Boulevard; like the Miami location, it will be a multi-use, riverfront site on 1.25 acres with different bar options and bites from various food trucks and local chefs, though no vendors or exact opening timeline have been announced yet." - Olee Fowler

Google
Fantastic getaway from the day the day life. Not too far from home and love the indoor outdoor setting, multiple areas to chill and take photos and grab a bit to eat. Large crowds of people to get to know ow and unique activities to participate in like the 5k Santa Run. Would Recommend Highly 💫

Google
This venue is really lacking. We went during the day to try the food places. The view of the water is blocked so you can’t see it? why? A Michelob ultra bottle was 8.69. It’s mainly a dog venue where people like to bring their dogs. We enjoyed watching them. Music was great but thats’s it. We tried the tacos $12 were good but the vendor did not say hello, thank you , nothing. We tried the smash hot dog also it was awful. The hot dog $15 ! itself had black grill grease on it which soaked into the bun. Terrible combination of potato chips and greasy hot dog. Same with this vendor, no hello or thank you. You must order with the QR code. We wont be back there’s so many other places (except for not 2nd street thats’s awful too. Come on, Fortlauderdale.. if you are going to keep building we need nice streets and venus. Smelled of garbage around this venue. Parking was $28 for a few hours!

Very cool place to hang out with friends. They have multiple bars and food options. Tons of seating is available and it has a fun, laid-back vibe. Great DJs too!

Google
The Wharf – Great Location, But Missing Character The Wharf in Fort Lauderdale is in a prime location—right on the river with beautiful views of the Intracoastal. On paper, it has all the elements to be something magical. But in reality, it feels like your typical American bar, and unfortunately, it lacks character. The space is huge—almost too big for its own good. Even on busy days, it somehow feels empty and a bit impersonal. The drinks are just okay, and the food trucks, while convenient, don’t offer anything particularly memorable. That said, the view alone makes it worth a visit, especially for out-of-towners. I live in the area and just go for a stop And go drink. It’s a fun stop for a casual drink, but don’t expect anything intimate or unique.

Google
Great place to spend new years morning walking along the river and exploring the various architectures, art and history of downtown Fort Lauderdale

Lots of fun great place to bring the kids or for an adult night out. Food stands, games music a great bar over looking the water

Google
The original Wharf opened on the Miami River. It was such a success that a sister location opened on Las Olas on the New River in 2019. There is limited metered street parking around The Wharf and two city garages a couple of blocks away. They also offer valet. I always wanted to try the Wharf and now I can say I have. The Wharf is an event space with food trucks and four bars. They hold a lot of fun events with corresponding drink specials. On the night I was there it was Wharf around the World. They had different drink stands set up representing different countries. If you got a stamp from each country they gave you a T-shirt. I had a tasty and affordable pain killer from the Caribbean pop up. They also had entertainment like Taiko drummers and a French mime. On the night I was there it was one of the final Heat games. There was a huge screen set up at the bar and it was really packed with people. By the time I left you couldn't walk anywhere. Which leads me to my gripe with them. There is plenty of attractive and comfortable seating in the middle of the venue but it is all reserved. Hardly any of it was being used and I was cast off to the edge by the fence. I wish they had more unreserved seating. On the plus side, even though it was extremely crowded the restroom I used was clean. While I liked the entertainment and drink and food specials the seating was uncomfortable and being packed in with a bunch of younger drunk people while sober (I was the driver) was not fun. It is a great concept but next time I would try coming back in the afternoon. At least now I know what I have been missing.

Google
Big shout out to bartender Heather and manager Rebecca at the Wharf tonight! These two ladies, and truly all the staff, made for an exceptional night. I was there celebrating a small win and had a couple virgin strawberry mojitos as the beverage of choice. Took Heather's recommendation and she was right, the strawberry mojito is phenomenal. Rebecca made her way swiftly to the bar and responded to my inquiries about the Wharf with attentiveness and care. This was truly a great nightlife experience all around. Highly recommended.

Yelp
This time of year The Wharf is a fun place to go. The decor leans into a nautical theme by the look and the feel. Always advertising special events It's an open air outdoor establishment set up on the water with spectacular water views and lights of the high rises. Multiple little seating areas and bars throughout. They have a covered bar with high tops in the center. Variety of food stations that serve tacos and pizzas that give me food truck vibes. A holiday village of decorations are all around of lights and trees for the holidays. Special and unique holiday drinks are available for purchase. Tried the Hollyberry Fizz cocktail that had vodka, prosecco, pomegranate, cranberry and lemon. I really enjoyed it. Great place to relax and socialize with a spectacular view. Definitely be back!!!!!

Yelp
Love how they made it like the OG Miami spot as you can't beat a huge outdoor hang out spot near the water! Love the open space with food outlets and plenty of seating under cover and in the open. Great spot to catch a game or fight with busy bartenders making great drinks. Nice vibe with music and even a mechanical bull machine. They often do free events and promotions so be sure to check out eventbrite and sign up for mane free drinks or free themed items for the events.
google avatar

Yelp
The Wharf is nice waterfront venue located in Las Olas. Open air concept with communal tables under shaded tents. Plenty of seating area and big screen tv's to catch sports games. Loved the nautical style decor. The place is family friendly during the day but they have DJ and live music for the evenings and night time. Huge bar area with bartenders staying busy preparing a variety of cocktails. Lively atmosphere and there is a mechanical bull for some added fun. Check the schedule of operation. Great time overall.

Yelp
The Wharf Fort Lauderdale is honestly just a whole vibe. It's one of those places where you show up for a drink and suddenly you're in the middle of a cornhole contest with people you met five minutes ago. Super social crowd -- I ended up talking to a bunch of pilots and out‑of‑towners, which made the night feel kind of like a mini vacation. Music's good, energy's high, and it's the perfect spot if you're trying to hang out, meet people, and not take anything too seriously.
google avatar

Yelp
We checked out The Wharf after brunch. Turns out, it was a Kiss Country radio event. Apparently happens every Sunday! There was line dancing and a festive vibe. Music was good and drinks were kicking.

Yelp
I've never been here before today. Cool idea with everything outdoors and plenty of space with easy to order food truck-esque setup. Also like the QR scanning and the they bring to your table. We only went because after the Yelp Event at Beauty Booster we were supposed to get free drinks for 2 hours by just my RSVPing on Wharf page. I waited until the end of the event because I thought it was a time thing but it was full. I wish they would've said spots are limited or more info about it. Also for their anniversary they had a country DJ and that's just not my vibe, though that's just my personal preference. It was pretty loud and hard to talk though maybe I would've liked it better if it wasn't country. Pretty cool spot though. I try to find a separate page for the food place. We went to Carlos and Pepe's but could not find one so I will just leave the review here. I got the street tacos and they were OK. I got the steak and it was kind of dry and chewy, but the rest of it was good.

Yelp
Can't compare it to the one that was in Miami because that one was special but the Wharf Fort Lauderdale has been a solid staple to the area making it a place for events, gatherings, meet ups or to just chill. It's waterfront and they have upgraded everything; more shaded area, bathrooms and food area. They have permanent food trucks selling pizza, Asian food, sandwiches, munchies food. The drinks are always good at the Wharf.

Yelp
I have to confess...the only thing I knew about country music was Achy Breaky Heart and a goldschlager fueled Karaoke in my 20's..well that and the jokes about "my cow got sick, I lost my pickup truck". However, my ladyfriend is a fan of country music so we decided to make our way up here Sunday where the local country music station hosts line dancing classes, as well as dancing to countrified remixes of other types of music (yes we even heard Pitbull once or twice). Like the one we had in Miami, The Wharf in Fort Lauderdale is a cool open air lounge in the Las Olas area. Perfect for chill Sunday date or hang out with friends. The set up is a center bar with a great mix of wine and liquor, which we of course enjoyed. There are also some dining options which we didn't partake since we had eaten elsewhere. Our servers at the bar were pleasant and drinks well mixed. She enjoyed her Pinot Grigio and Lemon drop (voli vodka, Dale!) and I had my Merlot and well blended mojitos. I'm not sure if it was a regular offering or just for the event, but there was also a mechanical bull ride. Thanks to all that check ins in the Miami Lakes cowfield, I was able to go for about two minutes lol. There's also that sculpture with the open heart that's perfect for Insta-friendly pictures. We were able to find parking a few blocks away in one of various city lots. Uber is still recommended if you live close to the area though. It's definitely a fun stop for a laidback good time.

Yelp
I really enjoy hanging out at The Wharf. I never went to the original. This one is fun and feels like an escape from the ordinary. The drinks were great. I had a Rum Runner and strawberry lemonade. The bartenders were available when we wanted drinks. We were here for the Wharf tasting today. I enjoyed the chicken garlic pizza from Piefather. The steak taco was pretty good. I loved the avocado creme on top. I didn't love the selections from Janizen...I think that is how you spell the name. I did enjoy the loaded fries from Smashies. This is a great place to relax and unwind. At night, it gets more lively. I like it less crowded during the day.

Yelp
A group of us were downtown for the beer and wine festival so upon conclusion we decided to walk over here. Staff greeted us and told us to walk right in. After finding a high top to sit at, first stop was the restroom. My goodness the bathroom stalls are insanely small. I literally had to open the stall door to flush the toilet. A friend of ours ordered a round of vodka cranberry's which were refreshingly delicious. Back to the bathroom before we departed and while my friend was complaining about the tiny stalls another patron chimed in on our rant of how she just opened the stall to flush the toilet lol!

Yelp
This is a great bar to go to if you want to get away from the more touristy places near las olas beach. I liked the concept of the bar being outdoors but the main area being covered with a roof. There were plenty of fans blowing which helped too! My only issue was that the fog machines were very loud and made it hard to see anything if you were caught under it and the music itself seemed to have turned down in volume after a while.

Yelp
The Wharf is always a great time to visit no matter what the occasion! They always have specials and themed events for the various holidays throughout the year so I always find out through social media for the best days to visit. Once inside, they have a bunch of food spots, a giant rectangular bar in the middle that's covered, and tons of tables in the back as well as couches, lounges and an additional smaller bar. Inside, the wharf can fit well over a thousand people which makes for a very large venue that can also feel small and comfortable at the same time. They have security to check ids in the front, as well as security that walks throughout the venue from time to time for safety which is important when there is alcohol and a bunch of people in one spot. The music is always on point with a DJ always making great mixes that never stop until it closes. I've been wanting to go visit on Sundays for "saddle up Sunday" which has line dancing and a country theme. However, Friday and Saturday nights are usually the allure to the Wharf Experience. It stays open to 3am both nights and offers an electric atmosphere like no other spot in Ft. Lauderdale. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a spot that gears towards a younger audience as well as feels like a Florida themed environment that is upbeat and always fun.
google avatar

Shelley P.

Yelp
Okay, this place is adorable. It's outside with these tiny looking stores that serve food and alcohol. Then there's the main bar where they were teaching line dancing. Everyone who worked there was super nice!

Yelp
Honestly drink prices are out of control here but at least we had AN AMAZING BARTENDER, Patricia. The music and ambiance are great but ever since they change the food trucks everything has gone down hill. Service really sucks. Ordered guacamole from Carlos and Pepe's and I got a plastic 4oz ramequin enough for a toddler. The cheese pizza was terrible and it looked and felt like a plastic prop. My friend had to wait 45 min for a subpar sandwich from Smashies. We tried to order from the pan Asian place but the attendant kept disappearing. Overall a poor experience.

Eric M.

Yelp
Angie & PJ were very attentive and amazing!!! Will definitely be back at wharf Fort Lauderdale!

Yelp
I had a horrible experience here. I booked a table for NYE but it ended up being the wrong one. We went to this establishment a few days prior to see if we could change our table. The manager told me absolutely and to pick the table I wanted. The people I was with offered to pay for the changes and they refused payment. Fast forward to NYE, we show up and they hadn't changed anything and manager tells us he over booked and there isn't room for us at any other table. He said there wasn't anything he could do about it because "they are the WHARF" insinuating they were special. We ended up getting our original table and it was fine but the situation was frustrating. This place has like porta potties for bathrooms. It isn't anything special. The people checking IDs at the front also took about 20-30 to let each group in. The group in front of us told us last year they didn't get in enough time and they gave their (payed!!) table away. Place just seems like a scam. Wouldn't recommend coming here on a busy night or for an event.

Mike S.

Yelp
Never disappoints! Great location and super friendly staff. Recently visited on a Sunday for football and drinks with friends. Great local spot if you're looking for day drinking outdoors.

Yelp
Music here is straight trash every time I come to place expected something different they always disappoint. I miss the the Miami wharf They place music for 50 plus gringos on vacation smh ‍ and I live downtown. Terrible vibes!! Can't jiggy to that trash
google avatar

Marina D.

Yelp
The vibe is always great no matter what day it is. Drinks are reasonably priced, they have some simple food options. And the greatest of all, they welcome doggies! It's my pups favorite place to go;)
google avatar

Marietsy P.

Yelp
Chill vibe, good music but would have loved more of a sea view. It's more casual dress than the Miami location which is very active. Easy to find seating and there are food trucks. There is also an area where the families could enjoy without disrupting the no children crowd. There is valet service which was the most convenient way to park and security at the entrances and exits.
google avatar

Vero M.

Yelp
The ladies and I had a great time at The Wharf Fort Lauderdale's Saddle Up Sunday event! Kiss country is out broadcasting, professional line dancers to get you in your rows, full bar, helpful staff, drink specials, try your luck on the electronic bull and a good crowd. Of course their food trucks are open and a great breeze off the water. We went very early, but the crowd actually gets better later on in the afternoon.
google avatar

Camille C.

Yelp
I have been to the Wharf two consecutive weekends for the past two weeks for two different birthdays. I guess you can say, my friends and i love it here. I love their drinks special. There's always a good deals for happy hour or special events for pitchers. With the drinks - if you're going with a group, order every single pie from Pie Father and share. I had the one that had hot honey with it. It was delicious. The service - you can order from your table. Just scan the QR code and they will come to you. Other than that, the vibes were immaculate and will definitely go again!

Yelp
Went to the wharf Fort Lauderdale for the first time yesterday. Personally, I liked it so much more than the old Miami location. Our server who I do not have her name, but I did get a picture of her. I hope she doesn't mind but she did an amazing job. Our party had a lot of kids and she was very sweet all of the kids with the bubbles and her attitude. All of the food was delicious, especially the brussels sprouts. I'm not a brussel sprouts person but these were my favorite. My only critique would be less mint leaves in the mojito. The environment was clean and the vibe was so relaxing.
google avatar

Khadijah J.

Yelp
It's a great happy hour! Great deals, 4-7 w/ hour- priced drinks ($4 for mojito at 4pm, $5 at 5pm, etc.), it's very chill for happy hour time. We came on a Friday and it wasn't packed at all. The service was quick, bartenders were helpful. No cover charge to walk in either. It's pretty chill.

Yelp
Food truck Smash Burger. Bad. I could not eat it. Taste = terrible. Bad burger meat.

Yelp
The Wharf is an adventure for sure but not what I expected. The traffic is stressful just trying to find parking in the Ft Laud area. Definately Uber if you can, its well worth the money. The Wharf is a massive open party of tiki type bars and blasting music of different genres. Its a fun packed place for sure if you're in your twenties. If it starts raining, well the night is basically over. Actually, very strong drinks which is a plus. Priced average for the Las Olas area. Plenty of other bars in the immediate area to bounce in and out.
google avatar

Donyiel C.

Yelp
Nice vibes but very packed on weekends. Different bars and food options. I was in town recently and apparently this place was popular. I heard Miami had a curfew since it was spring break so everyone flocked here as it got later. The minimum age was 23. Not 21! They do ID. I mean they asked for mine and I told the guy I was old enough to have s 23 year old! Parking is a nightmare. There is garage parking not too far away but it's pricey. Better off doing ride share. On a Saturday night wasn't much seating so we mostly were standing around. Eventually we got some seats. It was nice cool breeze by the water. I would visit again, perhaps during the day!
google avatar

Sterling M.

Yelp
This turn around has definitely changed what the wharf was. I was unimpressed with the rudeness i got from the bartenders in middle bar. The ambiance and food was still good but moscow mules don't belong in a plastic cup.
google avatar

Bhumi P.

Yelp
Went to the Wharf with some friends on a Friday night. It was a cute and fun little outdoor bar area with lots of bar/food options, seating, dancing and ping pong tables. It was stressful trying to find parking in the area due to all the traffic in the area. There's a parking garage right next to the wharf that was about 15$ for 2-3 hours. The drinks were not were not watered down. They played a variety of music however, the speakers seemed to be getting cut off quite often in the middle of the songs.
google avatar

Steven I.

Yelp
The Wharf is always a fun time as they always do different themes for each holiday. Drinks are a little pricey for the area but they do specials based on the day you go. They have food trucks and different areas. The Wharf is always crowded yet you never have to wait too long for service since there are many bars. If you're looking for a huge outdoor bar with lots of different drink and food options this is the place to go!
google avatar

Rikka B.

Yelp
If you want a chill vibe this is the place. Good drinks, they have music and themed weekends. Sundays are fun with the mechanical bull. Open late and they have food trucks. Outdoors and spacious. Music not the greatest but doable
google avatar

Alex M.

Yelp
The Wharf is a gem among outdoor bars, offering a delightful backyard feel that instantly transports you to a carefree oasis. The bar has some games like corn hole or ping pong, multiple bars, and food truck-style walk-up windows. Lots of different areas and tons of seating available. The highlight, though, is the charming ambiance reminiscent of a backyard gathering, complete with picnic tables, twinkling lights, and a relaxed vibe that encourages mingling and making new friends. It's the perfect spot to unwind after a long day or to spend a leisurely weekend afternoon soaking in the sunshine. Overall, The Wharf delivers on its promise of a fun-filled outdoor experience, making it a must-visit destination for anyone looking to enjoy good drinks, tasty food, and a laid-back atmosphere.
google avatar

Andrea F.

Yelp
The Wharf is a blast with good music and drinks! They were playing alot of hip hop but also switched it up to different genres. My favorite drink they make is the mojito as they put a real sugar cane in with your drink. They were giving out free floaties such as dolphins and whales. The bartenders did their best to get our drinks to us in a timely manner but they were super swamped. My bestie and I had a blast!
google avatar

Astrida M.

Yelp
We were here a few weeks ago with a friend we hadn't seen in a while and wanted to catch up on things. It was a beautiful sunny day, and we all wanted to be outdoors. The Wharf is perfect for that being right by the waterfront. The ambiance was energizing, good music (house, hip hop, Top 40, Latin), and a great crowd. There are many food booths and the food is delicious. You can't go wrong with any of it. There's pizza, hamburgers, sushi, sandwiches, and dessert. The servers are really friendly and attentive. We sat at the bar, had lunch and drinks, and looked out on the crowd. Lots of places to sit or stand and mix. You can dance or not. Do your thing. It's casual, trendy and a lot of fun. It's esthetically more appealing than Miami's Wharf. Both are great places to go to though. It's in the Las Olas area near the Art Museum by the water. Have fun!
google avatar

Meagan G.

Yelp
I forgot how fun this place can be. Haven't been in a couple of years and stopped in after dinner last night. I love that it's kind of casual, although some people are dressed up, so you can pretty much come as you are. Last night there was a fun cinco de mayo theme and there was a lot going on. Everyone was having a great time. They had different bars with different themes, games to play, and a lot more. I have to remember to come here more often w friends because it's so fun.
google avatar

Javier R.

Yelp
Love the wharf! The bartenders are friendly and put up with all the crazy drunk messy visitors. The food is great! Highly recommend the tacos, burger and pizza.

Caj F.

Yelp
Went here for a meet and greet and was told my child, who had a ticket, wasn't allowed in. If you're looking for overpriced food and a happy hour bar that needs a bouncer, this might be the place for you. If you want good food and a nice atmosphere, try anywhere else.
google avatar

Kishan R.

Yelp
Always a great time! The established has a several food trucks on site for those trying to munch on something while having drinks. There are also different types of games to play while having drinks. There's always good music on as well, if not a DJ. The place is pretty darn big and hosts a lot of people.
google avatar

Dale F.

Yelp
This is such a fun place to hang out with friends and family, and I have a few cocktails and relax and watch the beautiful yachts go by on the new river right behind the place. they have some nice events there and parties. Its mainly a drinking establishment, but they do have probably six or seven food trucks that are there permanently where you can get pretty much any kind of food that you like and sweets.Fun times there.
google avatar

Christina F.

Yelp
This spot is always a fun time. They go all out with their themes. I loved visiting during their Christmas village. The decor was fun and they had a whole bar dedicated to holiday themed cocktails. The drinks were $13, so a bit pricey, but that's what you get at a themed bar. I also felt there were too many options for holiday drinks, maybe narrowing it down a bit would make the quality of the drinks better. Their regular drinks are also pricey, but you're paying for the location. On site they have some pretty great food trucks to choose from. Get the fries trio, you won't regret it. This is definitely a spot to check out in the area. During the day it's family and pet friendly, they have brunch specials as well. At night, it turns into a party. Be prepared to have fun, no matter the theme or time of day!
google avatar

Gabi Y.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to go out on Las Olas. The outdoor atmosphere right near the water is great. It's also huge so you'll never feel suffocated even with lots of people. They have food trucks & corn hole if you ever get bored! My friends & I love coming here for a good time.
google avatar

Briana E.

Yelp
Their Riverfront Happy Hour on Friday night is worth giving a try if you want affordable drinks between 4-7 p.m., but I personally think it's slightly overrated.. Nice ambiance once the sun sets. DJ could be a little better with the song selection, and the bartenders could be much friendlier. Note: This is my opinion after visiting two weeks.. Other people may have a different experience when they go!
google avatar

Monica R.

Yelp
Always a good time ! Sometimes it gets very crowded and sometimes it's almost empty! Drinks are good , and you have food trucks to grab something to eat while you enjoy your time here . Music it's not great on Fridays , so that's something they should probably work on a bit .

Yelp
This place looks cool, but service sucks, bad vibes. Took 30 min to get food. There are plenty of other great places in FL.

Yelp
Crowded and loud. The space is full of college students or recently graduated kids. If you like that scene then this can be fun. My secret to enjoying the Wharf FLL, is to go before the crowd because the space is actually really nice. They have food truck type stands set up and also places to play games like corn hole. Overall a 3/5 for bars down town FLL. I'll leave off with this statement that perfectly describes my experience with this place.... "No one goes out with the Wharf in mind, but everyone always ends up there at some point in the night."

Yelp
The Wharf is a great spot to hang out and have fun with friends and also to meet new people. The music is a vibe if you're like pop music. They typically play a little bit of everything. There are several different options for food, which is always a plus. The outdoor section is setup Food truck style with some outdoor seating and games for your entertainment. It can take a while to get through at the bar depending on how crowded it is but there are several bars to choose from so that's not too bad. Service to get food is pretty quick. Overall the Wharf is a good spot to have fun with friends.

Yelp
Great drinks, bartenders are as attentive as they can be, if you like to party or dance this is a pretty good place to do so. Definitely a place to check out if you're in fort lauderdale.

Yelp
Absolute gem of a place with lots of unique food options and drinks. Great place to hangout on a weekend night with a group of friends. Came here during the 60th annual celebration and they had unlimited, free mojitos. My wife and I had 6 rounds of drinks and it was amazing. Pros - great drinks. Lots of bar ordering areas so you do not need to wait in line for long. There are several food options including bbq, pizza, ice cream, and american. Ample seating and amazing view of the waterfront. Great backdrops for pictures Cons - none! Definitely check this place out when your are in the Ft. Lauderdale area on a weekend.
