We had lunch here during a beautiful fall weekday afternoon. Outdoor seating was lovely. Lobster bisque was rich. Fried seafood fresh and delicious. Good red sauce. Mediocre pizza. Don't skip the fried bread complimentary appetizer! So good. Calamari was great. Beer cold. 10/10.

Yummy seafood on the water! This was our first stop after getting into town and it was great. Good drinks & wine list. Had appetizers - got the fresh oysters and burrata salad. They had lobster rolls on special which were tasty. Location is top notch - we sat outside on the covered patio and it was perfect. Servers were helpful and friendly. Oh and not to mention they bring you fritters [for free] when you get seated - what a nice treat.

I highly recommend this restaurant. We got the spicy crab and spinach dip and it was very good and the spice level was perfect. I had the shrimp pasta, which is also very tasty and the shrimp were especially fresh and delicious but my favorite part of the meal has to be the basket of fritters that refresh out of the oven and we’re absolutely delicious if I could get this place in 11 out of 10, I would

It was a cold and windy night and we decided to have dinner at the WHARFSIDE Seafood and Patio Bar Restaurant. When entering we had to wait not because it was busy but hardly anyone was there with the exception of the bar which was crowded. Once greeted we had a choice of seating since only a few tables were occupied. Our waitress Tori was a professional and courteous individual. She explained the menu and offered suggestions. We selected the Thursday specials which included an appetizer, a glass of wine, entree, and dessert. There was also half price bottle of wine. We selected the filet and New York Strip steaks. We started off with French Onion and New England Clam Chowder. Both soups were very good in taste. The French Onion was not overwhelming. Meaning not salty and over chessy. The croutons were fresh, toasted and tasty. Our steaks were cooked to order. The grilled asparagus and cream spinach were a hit. Especially the cream spinach which the best I ever tasted beating other steakhouses. We thought it was the highlight of our dinner experience. The house wine which was a Cabernet was surprisingly very good . We also ordered a fried Fisherman Platter which consisted of cod, shrimp, scallops, clam strips, crabcake, French fries and onion rings. This entree was average in taste. Service was excellent with Tori and we recommend you ask for her. Prices were average and this establishment offer free parking on site.

My partner, his father, and I made a reservation and ate here for my partner’s birthday dinner. The staff were wonderful and extremely accommodating with regard to allergies and seating preferences as well as quite attentive without checking in excessively. We ordered the broiled scallops (which were absolutely delicious with a buttery smooth texture and perfectly cooked) with brussels sprouts (which had a lovely caramelized flavor), the orange salmon (which had delightfully subtly sweet undertones from the orange and was also cooked perfectly), and the snow crab legs (which were unfortunately very disappointing due to being significantly overcooked and therefore dry and stuck to the shell but still tasted fine, it was just difficult to get out of the shell and the texture was unpleasant ). I did mention the state of the snow crab legs to the staff who did not seem surprised, nor did they offer any solution, which the staff are likely not to be in charge of anyway so I did not personally expect anything, but were the restaurant independent I think they would typically take the concern into consideration. For dessert we shared the key like pie, which was the creamiest and most scrumptious key lime pie that any of us have had. Their baker deserves a raise. Again, very attentive staff and the atmosphere was cozy and classy, the only reason I gave four versus five stars was the overcooked snow crab legs. Would definitely come again!

Great atmosphere! Exceptionally clean and friendly surroundings. Even though they were busy, we were seated almost immediately and waitress was there to take our drink orders. My Bourbon and coke and my friends Bloody Mary were outstanding and our food orders were taken quickly as well. I had the Fishermans platter and a side house salad, which consisted of mixed greens, feta cheese and I had bleu cheese dressing. While I am not a fan of mixed green salad, I have to admit, these greens were extremely fresh and very tasty. Probably the best mixed green salad I have ever had. The main course consisted of fried scallops, fried shrimp, fried clams, fried cod, fried onion rings, French fries, fried crab cakes. So here is my breakdown....fried shrimp was overcooked, tasty but texture was to chewy. Clams were really good, with lots of flavor and onion rings were overcooked to the point of being almost brittle and very hard to eat. Can't say much on the fries because they were basic burger joint fries...not bad at all, but nothing special. Now the fried scallops, while I would have preferred them pan seared, were delicious! Perfectly cooked, very flavorful, with a nice crispy batter. Cod was outstanding in flavor while yet again I would have preferred a grilled filet to offset so much fried stuff. Also really enjoyed the crab cakes...very moist and tender and lots of flavor. Service was very good and I apologize for not remembering her name, although we did learn she was a retired postal employee. She was extremely knowledgeable about the food and cooking process. My friend also had the onion soup and stated it was some of the best he had ever had. All in all, a great experience and will return again to try some of the other menu items.

Food was terrible. Steak was tuff & dry. Fries were not good. Soup was not hot. Calamari was salty & bitter. Clams wasn't fresh. The salad was not bad. Place did not look like in the pictures.

After our dinner last night I definitely had to write a review. We found this place thanks to Google and decided to give it a try. We were seated and then greeted by a very nice waitress by the name of Payton. She brought very fresh hush puppies to the table, they were amazing! We ordered the volcano shrimp, fried mozzarella, lobster bisque, stuffed flounder and NY strip and all of the food was AMAZING! Definitely will be back.

Yelp
Never once did this place ever disappoint me i love this place out of many. Great food beautiful simple creations. The service always great no matter how packed it is. This is the inly place that never let me down or disappoint me. Im a chef and believe me i expect what i pay for and im always impressed with this place Ive been to restaurants that the food was over rated and i payed a fortune for . But this place always makes me happy. Cant go wrong here Dont listen to the Karen's. I have over 30 year as a chef in the kitchen and many important events i love this place. I wont lie or post fake posts for no-one im fare and i give place send and third chances to redeem themselves . I call it how i see it and experience it myself . Plus im not entitled to crap. I go to eat at a place and i expect my food to taste good and the service to match the food greatness and this place is both plus the place is clean and the uniforms on the wait staff are clean and worn properly not sloppy clean hand i look at everything. Ill tell this place meet all my expectations. Including a clean bathroom. Please follow me for more great restaurants.

Yelp
Ambiance: very nice, directly on the water and decor is attractive. It's a large space and very clean. The views are appealing through large windows all around or from the outdoor seating area. Service: Average. We had a nice waitress, appeared experienced and knew the menu. We asked for water from the runner who delivered our appetizers, but had to follow up with the waitress when time had passed. Once we got our mains, one person asked for lemon when the waitress came to check on us, we also had to follow up on that so mid level service, but good enough for the most part. Service 3 out of 5 Food: salads were good, New England clam chowder was good, Manhattan clam chowder was awful. It was very uncooked tomato, clumpy and no clam flavor at all. Two people order "grilled" asparagus sides. They were practically inedible, served raw with a very faint grill mark. We did not return them as the people ordering those in our party did not want to complain. The main courses themselves were pretty good. The fried flounder and fried shrimp combos that two people had were excellent, not greasy, not fishy and perfectly executed. The salmon and the mahi-mahi dishes ordered were also acceptable, nothing to rave about, but perfectly acceptable. Food 2 out of 5. All in all, I probably would not return because there were too many missed things and the quality of the food and the service does not coincide with the prices. They have a lot of competition in the area, so it's very easy to select another waterfront restaurant that may have a better quality in the food.

David L.

Yelp
Good food, good service, good people. Great views. First impression at front door may not make you feel so very welcome. But don't worry about it. The waitress and waiter are very nice and friendly. Will come back.

Yelp
Great winter happy hour menu with additional nightly super saver specials. It is hard to believe that the rating is under three so I'm gonna give them five stars cause they deserve it. Bartenders are excellent. The food is excellent. Get your butt over here.

Carla N.

Yelp
Corey, I did as you asked, emailed Meredith, and got crickets. So either she's despondent or she's overwhelmed with complaints. Either way, I thought you should know.

Scott G.

Yelp
Weird thing is the guy bartenders could use ALOT more instruction on how to acknowledge the patrons and clear the bar of dishes. The women bartenders do a much better job. I sat next to dirty dishes for 15 minutes after the people left and this happens while the bar/restaurant manager is standing there..Service can be way below par at times especially for such a nice place

Steph C.

Yelp
Park lot. Theres also street parking. Inside very big, we ate outside, theres a nice view. They give you free corn fritters which were delicious. Appetizer had the lobster bisque which was a bit salty. We both ordered pasta which we enjoyed. The service was great.

Michele W.

Yelp
I went there because I was dying for king crab legs! I was so pleasantly surprised !!! They were amazing and the service was totally on point ! Love how they redid the entire place ! I'll be back!

Joe H.

Yelp
I happen to come across this place and we could not have liked it more. We sat outside which is comfortable and has a more view of the inlet, our waitress was awesome so friendly and helpful, everything we ordered we loved. The pizza was great my steak was so good. The rum bucket strong and the Mai tai was delicious. This is my new favorite spot in point pleasant!

Nicole G.

Yelp
I find this hard to believe that it is rated 3stars. I am giving four, only because we didn't have enough time to fully enjoy. But let's start with this... the greeting upon arrival was energetic and welcoming, the water birds and ability to seat yourself was awesome, live band performaning some great hits, our waiter Sofia was delightful and endured the humor we had to offer, the drinks were great and the WINGs!!!! SOOOOODAMNGOOD...KOREAN BBQ AND BUFFALO...WHAT A HIT for a quick stop in. The menu items looked great but we didn't order due to time. We will be back!!

Kimberly F.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! I went here for the first time and I cannot believe it has taken me this long to come here. The restaurant has a parking lot out front for easy access to park. The building inside is beautiful. The temperature was nice (not too chilly but I'd still bring a light sweater or cardigan). The window seating has fabulous views of the water and boats going by. There is also a sandbar that shows at low tide directly outside the window which is nice to look at. Service was excellent. Our server, Gary, was both pleasant and attentive. He made our experience even better by being so great. Now into the food- amazing!!! I got the coconut-crusted halibut which was out of this world delicious. I'm a picky person and it was so yummy, not fishy, and fresh! My mother got the crab stuffed flounder with shrimp on the side which she said was delicious. Also, while waiting for your meals they serve you these corn puffs topped with powdered sugar which are a delightful treat while you wait. At the end of my visit I asked for the manager and relayed how great my experience was and how great service was to him. I will surely be back soon!

Idania D.

Yelp
We went to Wharfside for a lazy, late lunch on a weekday. It wasn't busy and we snagged a nice, outside table facing the beautiful view. Service was very good, no complaints. They start you off with complimentary corn fritters- delish. Appetizers Oysters Tuna poke Caesar salad Entrees Grilled short rib sandwich Coconut shrimp Food was excellent as is the atmosphere. Nice stop in Point Pleasant.

Tara F.

Yelp
Went here on a Friday and got a great seat right against the water which just added a lot to the ambiance of the dinner! From a meal perspective the crab cake was ok not the best I've had wish there was a bit more flavor and that it came with a side. My sister loved the apricot chicken and it's her go to there !

Angela S.

Yelp
Our server Donna was fantastic. The ambience and the views were amazing. The food was outstanding. Everything was cooked appropriately. I am looking forward to coming back.

Robert L.

Yelp
Plenty of gluten free options and a gluten free menu. The Manhattan clam was delicious. Servers were well educated in cross contamination. They should post the GF menu on their website. Great views and pleasant atmosphere. Tiki bar looked like fun, maybe next time I'll bring my boat and tie up instead of going fishing.

Pat M.

Yelp
Great food, great view and great service. And free hush puppies are brought to your table!

Tom F.

Yelp
When I first saw the low score I was hesitant to eat here. But when I saw why, with several reviewers complaining about black pepper, I figured it was worth a shot and people were just used to more bland food. We sat at a very nice table by the water. The staff was very polite, if a bit slow. The food was not bad at all. The burger I had sounded a bit better on the menu than it was, and it probably would have benefitted from a healthy amount of black pepper before the patty was cooked, but that sounds like it's too spicy for the area. The calamari was not the best I've had, but far from the worst. Over all, it's a solid choice, and I would come back again. A little bit on the pricy side, but so are most places in the area.

Patricia F.

Yelp
Wonderful restaurant on the water. Food was excellent. Service was okay. There are several tables inside and outside. There is a large patio outside with several tables. I highly recommend going there.

Georgianna G.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place!!! We fish all morning and come here by 2:00. You can arrive by boat or car. They have docks if you arrive by boat. No dock master so be ready. The food is awesome. The fresh bar is amazing!! I only fish to come here to get my buckets and fresh oysters. They have bands on the weekends. This is an awesome place and I definitely recommend coming here!!!

M S.

Yelp
The service was great and the food was good... wish there was a littlep more variety. The view was gorgeous though.

Gary T.

Yelp
Wow, must of really hit it on a bad day ,saw all the reviews and had family say how good food is , ate there last night , wife's lobster was burnt , sister in laws dinner was wrong ,me and my brother both had fisherman's platter which was terrible ,fish was not cooked well ,scallops tasted bad and everything was soggy , real shame as it was a birthday dinner

KnightBwick M.

Yelp
Service was excellent and friendly. Arugula and prosciutto pizza was delicious. It's been a few years since I've been here. But this place fell off.. The wonderful salad cart is no longer a part of the menu. The Apricot chicken was a sad chicken cutlet that was "soaked" in a lousy apricot sauce. I've had better chicken at a diner. The prices on the menu don't match up to the quality of the food. Mediocre.

Clara W.

Yelp
Best vibes. Great live music and views of the bay. Sometimes a wait but just sit at bar until then and order a rum bucket :)

Joey B.

Yelp
Been coming here for over 35 years and has severely declined...service us pretty much non existent or really slow..and they no longer have steamers on the menu?? Really? A jersey shore seafood spot and no steamers...food is average at best and the outdoor patio has always been my spot..buy after waiting over 20 minutes for a drink and no napkins served with my food...and then another 20 minutes for girl to take my check? There are now too many places to go with goid food and service..they better shape up..where's the management???

Logan R.

Yelp
The menu online is a lie. The best sounding things on the menu just aren't actually here. When I arrived, the loud music that was playing ringed in my ears. I had to wait for roughly an hour for my table while listening to it. When I sat down at my table, i couldn't even hear my family so we just sat there in silence while looking at the menus. When the waitress came I told her that I wanted milk. She came back with a Pepsi. I then had to order a milk with the Pepsi when I didn't want it. To add that, she only gave me a straw for my Pepsi but no straw for my milk. I had to wait for her to come back to my table to ask her for a straw so I could drink it. When the pizza came out, it looked good. But looks aren't always taste. The pizza wasn't the best. It was way too thin and I like thin pizzas. Just not that one. On the menu, it said that my burger would come with French fries but instead, I got a bag of chips. I never even ate them because it's a snack and not a side. The burger was mediocre at best. Way too over done. The buns were pretty tasty though. The chicken tenders were tough and the breading was not good. The French fries were probably the best thing there. They had a good amount of salt, they were a good size, and they were soft. They were also very filling. The Pepsi was watered down and my milk was warm when it came out. I expected it to be cold. Nowhere did it say "warm milk" milk is always cold at restaurants. The prices were outrageous. One burger was $18 One little ice cream bar was $8 and I was charged for French fries when I still got the chips. I will not be coming here again and I do not recommend this place to anyone. Horrible experience.

Yelp
this beautiful restaurant that sits on the waters of Point Pleasant, serving fresh, delicious, and unique takes on seafood dishes. I absolutely loved their calamari which had a mix of citrus and spice! Everything was delicious and didn't disappoint! It's a great spot for those looking to celebrate, date night, or just want to treat yourself! For photos checkout my reel on this spot on insta @foodwithsusie

Sofya P.

Yelp
Not only was food mediocre at the best and our server underwhelming (took half an hour to flag down to ask for a second round of drinks and another half our to bring beer and a glass of wine, came once the meal was done). Both my partner and I got food poisoning. Never again

Tony R.

Yelp
Awesome views! Nice menu selection for both seafood and non-seafood patrons. Their cornbread critters were a nice surprise. My only critique is that the salad eaters at the table prefer their salad and protein precut. I ordered the Cesar and the Romain came as stalks and the chicken was a whole breast. The food quality and service were excellent.

Brian C.

Yelp
You can improve on everything. The waiter targeted my girlfriend as we were leaving asking her how the service was essentially shaking her down. She gave him $20 because she was scared. The service was barely there, we went to the bar to get drinks because our service was absentee. The sauces were also terrible. I would've spoken to the waiter or management but was unaware that's what occurred until we got home. Unacceptable.

cap T.

Yelp
Me and my friends went. 4 dudes 1 girl. The server was mid I tipped accordingly. As we walk out 3 dudes walk and past him and say bye. He confronts the girl about the tip and "it felt like a shake down" she gave him an extra 20$. The honey mustard tasted pretty bad. Ambiance is mid. Overall very server ruined the experience.

Anthony C.

Yelp
The vibes were great but our service was horrible. The waiter (who was drunk) confronted my girlfriend alone to force her into tipping more then what was already tipped on top of the bill. She felt scared, very scared, and ended up giving him cash which he put into his pocket. The waiter never came over to check on us, gave us funny tasting sauces and overall left a terrible impression. I'm very upset with this service and wish I remembered the waiters name.

Ramona N.

Yelp
We had dinner yesterday here... food was just ok.. the real issue was the lobster roll. Ordered the hot lobster roll , it came a dried, smelly, old small pieces of something looking like claw meat ... I tried a bite and realized that was old . low quality lobster meat... it tasted rancid. I brought to waitress attention, but she stated she was unable to take it off the bill, or replace ... surely enough a night of vomiting followed. Nobody should be getting served this type of food.. and charged $$$ on top?? A call to the restaurant manager , to inform , leaded to him not willing even to listen...

Diane S.

Yelp
Best seafood combo( broiled) I have ever had! Crab cake, flounder, shrimp over sweet potato and broccoli. Very pleasing sauce, sort of like hollandaise but not. Brianna my waitress was excellent and great service. Newly refinished inside, love the view on the water. Very peaceful. Definitely will return and bring friends. They are open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week. Very highly recommend for great seafood and ambiance. Prices good too

Natalie R.

Yelp
We had very high expectations going into this restaurant. We were taken in much quicker than expected and the view was calming when we were seated. Our waitress was kind, but seemed new and a bit uninformed. We started with the Sesame Ahi Tuna; we ordered it practically raw (the best way to have it). It was came out cooked well done. The flavor was there, but it was not cooked how we ordered it. For entree I ordered the Wharfside Combo (I ordered it gluten free). My plate came out without the crab cakes like listed on the menu. Instead the seafood was 8 shrimp, 4 scallops and cod fish. When I informed my waitress the crab cakes were missing she went to her manager. The manager came over to our table to help with my entree that came out incorrectly. Her only solution was to give me crab cakes-- that I could not eat. I was NOT informed when I ordered this dish that my plate would come out with no crab cakes on it. I would've considered ordering something else. I asked if there was anything they could do. The manager with the dark curly hair stood there with a straight face and continued to only offer me crab cakes that that would be filled with gluten as the solution to this problem. She was extremely unhelpful. And we left very disappointed.

Wayne B.

Yelp
Location and view is out of this world, the bands and the music are exciting fun and the best bands on the Jersey shore, and the the service was excellent.

Matthew C.

Yelp
Great place on the water. Family friendly, always busy. They have a nice basic menu and the food is terrific! If you are a tourist on the Jersey shore or a native this is a wonderful place!! It's constantly good with very attentive friendly staff

William B.

Yelp
Didn't visit all summer because of all the bennies but just visited and I was very disappointed! They have a new chef and he changed the menu no longer is soup or salad included with meal even the 52 dollar steak! They charge 5 bucks for salad which was nothing more the spinach and lettuce and croutons. No more salami, cheese, lettuce, pepperoncini and everything else that that was in their delicious salad. And no longer do they give you fritters, bread and coleslaw as soon as you sit down! The food was rather bland. Wife took her leftovers home to doctor them up herself! Our waitress I forget her name was very nice though. Used to be our go to restaurant but we will not be back!!

Hunter B.

Yelp
This is a place you can definitely skip. We went here on a Sunday and it had a good view by water. It was super busy and you cannot sit unless the whole party is present but we finally got a table. As for drinks, the rum bucket was not bad. The shrimp cocktail was overcooked shrimp served on a paper plate with ice, so not the greatest. The pizza was not terrible. The prices are expensive for mediocre food so unless you need that outside water vibe then this place is an easy skip.

The Critical J.

Yelp
PROS: This place was one of the more upscale seafood restaurants around the area. Located with a nice waterfront view you can sit inside or out. The waitstaff is nice and the menu has a good variety on it. Prices were also reasonable and there was a good amount of parking. The food was also good too CONS: The portions were a tad small. My fish for the fish n Chips was half the size that i'm use to and my friend's pasta dishes weren't all that big OVERALL: I would highly recommend coming here but if you have a larger appetite order both an appetizer and a entree

K D.

Yelp
Food was good. We were seated pretty quickly and our server was friendly. Food was enjoyable and the views were really nice. Would come back again !

Emily P.

Yelp
The worse lobster roll I ever had...Asked for it cold and it was served warm , dry and like rubber...Service was not even fair..Asked for and even pointed to the drink special for 5.00 and was charged 10.50 and she never said it had to be served "up"...vodka?..Manager adjusted that one with a attitude!!NEVER GOING BACK...many better places around to dine.

Catherine C.

Yelp
So disappointed with the menu. What Seafood restaurant has hamburgers, pizza. Three seafood entrees only ,no rolling salad bar or coleslaw like long ago. Last time for this restaurant

Kathy M.

Yelp
Updated restaurant and bar. Beautiful table Overlooking the water. Parking lot gets busy.

Rose R.

Yelp
This place used to be our go to restaurant once a week for many years. Ever since the menu change and the renovations it has really gone downhill. The food is completely different and the service was not good at all. The lobster bisque is now white?! It seems like they have taken the bad food from the lobster shanty and brought it next door. everything has black pepper on it and it's so off putting. The plates also look so sad now, it looks like they just dumped the food on it and delivered it to the table. The view from outside is still beautiful so I think we might just be skipping wharfside altogether for a meal unless it's just for drinks.

Craig W.

Yelp
Have been here numerous times the last couple decades but first time since the renovation. Hostess area moved a bit and bar more visible bit views remain the same with new flooring. Always excited for the tableside salad so when I saw the house salad was only $5 extra on the lunch menu I was pumped. Then along came a plate of wilted spring mix with some cheese cubes. That's it- literally nothing- probably the worst house salad ever. Ate 3 bites and left it- server never asked if everything was okay as she had tables outside also and we were on the far wall inside-no manager walking around etiher. Cole Slaw was also a big winner here but that was now served plain and simple. My mahi mahi tacos were okay but the smallest piece of mahi ever- double wrapped in soft shell- a very underwhelming dish. A few new dishes on the menu- pizza - in a seafood restaurant- didn't even ask. But I did ask about the pineapple cashew fried rice- server told us it was similiar consistency to a salsa- we said never mind as we shook our heads. Their saving grace is that the clam chowder hasn't changed- it was very good, but not enough to bring me back again. The restaurant may have had a renovation, but the food that allowed them to afford the renovation has gone away.

Mary R.

Yelp
Beautiful covered outdoor seating area with soft lighting & water/boat views. If you love seafood, I hear it's good. If your vegetarian, forget it or bring you own bag dinner. Cauliflower appetizer was very good but beyond that you're down to a side dish of potatoes and a side of "roasted vegetables" which turned out to be mushy yellow & green summer squash.

Carmen C.

Yelp
Stephany at the Bar is GREAT. Can't wait to come back. Saturday Happy hour from 12-5. Worth a trip

Terry J.

Yelp
Had my surprise birthday party there in November. Food, service and ambiance was amazing. I would definitely recommend!

Craig J.

Yelp
Went for my son's 30th birthday. After ordering drinks, waitress returned and said bar was backed up (there were a couple people at the bar & restaurant was not crowded) and apologized for the delay. Drinks came and we ordered. When food came out order was wrong, the runner brought stuffed flounder and shrimp when the order was for fried flounder, other orders were right. The waitress came over said she was re-entering and also she was off duty and introduced her replacement. The re-entered order should have been placed at the front of the que, but obviously wasn't. Kept waiting for the dinner while other 2 people ate. Finally, after the other diners were more than halfway done I went to new waitress and cancelled the dinner. The manager came over and apologized and said she would take the dinner (that I didn't eat) off the bill, did offer dinner to go, lol, but nothing else and blamed the mixup on a "new employee". Not the way to treat customers, will not be going back.
