A top shelf pizza joint. if you are a fan of beer they have plenty of options on tap. the atmosphere is perfect because you have an outdoor area and indoor. i wish they had a few more TVs that could scope each of the seats. the pizza was fantastic, that crust was made to perfection. the customer service is great and would come back if ever back in town.

It’s a pretty bold statement when you say that you have New Haven style pizza. Your pizza better live up to that statement. Being born and raised in New Haven, Connecticut , I know exactly what New Haven pizza is like. I continue make frequent trips to New Haven to visit family and while visiting family, I always hit up my favorite pizza joints. To begin with, their pizza is on the pricey side. They only make one size pizza which is 14 inches. I ordered the vegetable pizza and I ordered a couple slices of cheese pizza. The flop factor of the vegetable pizza was pretty extreme and the contents were a bit runny. The pizza also was a bit oily. It looks like they focus on thin crust pizza here. But in my opinion, the crust is too thin and not cooked enough. With cheese slices that I ordered, I asked them if they could cook them a little longer. When I ate them, they were overcooked and again it was a thin crusted pizza. (The flop factor was good on the cheese pizza though). New Haven Pizza is unique because it’s very crunchy pizza because it’s Woodfired pizza or sometimes coal fired. The pizza here was cooked in a regular pizza oven. The pizza sauce tasted good and the ingredients had a decent taste to them. But, I have to say this is far from New Haven style pizza. The pizza that they’re serving here reminds me of a pizza joint in New Haven by the name of Bar. They also have thin crusted pizza, but not as thin as they make it here. With all that being said, I still recommend coming here. I still feel it’s one of the better pizza joints in the area. The atmosphere was nice and the service was very good. I would come back. The gentleman who took my order and poured my beer was really nice. Clean restaurant and really fresh ingredients. Pizza was a lil floppy for my taste. Like I had to hold the crust up to bite it. Well cooked pizza just flopped bad. My only complaint and hence the 4 stars.

Delicious pizza! The Tennessee sourdough crust is delicious! The tomato pie was my favorite! Highly recommend! We tried to go to Pegasus tonight but they closed their dining room at 7, so we hopped on over to this spot and I’m so happy that we gave this spot a try! I just wish there were gluten free options here as my partner can’t eat gluten! Please add more dairy free and gluten free options and we will become regulars here! Thank you! Yum !

Pizza has a VERY yummy sauce and crust. Dissapointed the margarita pizza had such a small amount of mozzarella. However, will be going back for the vibes, beer, and to try a different pizza!

We had such a great experience at The Wheel Apizza Pub! From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. You can tell they genuinely enjoy what they do, and it really adds to the overall atmosphere. The service was prompt and attentive without ever feeling rushed, which made for a relaxed and enjoyable evening. We started with a salad, and it was honestly one of the best we’ve had in a long time—fresh ingredients, perfectly dressed, and just the right balance of textures and flavors. Then came the pizza, and wow—absolutely delicious! The crust was that perfect blend of crispy and chewy, with just the right amount of char from the wood-fired oven. Every bite was full of flavor, and you can really taste the quality of the ingredients and care in preparation. The vibe of the place is also worth mentioning—laid-back and cozy, perfect for a casual dinner or a night out with friends. We’re already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend if you’re in Eugene and love great pizza with top-notch service!

Google
Whenever I eat pizza, I have poor digestion fell uncomfortable so always ask about the type of flour used. I heard that this place uses Tennessee soughdough flour. The pizza was very tasty, and the service was prompt. They also offer a variety of IPA beers to enjoy. I liked the asparagus menu and the prosciutto cantaloupe, which are simple dishes to pair with beer. I highly recommend this place.”

Google
Fun atmosphere, and upscale for pizza, but still with reasonable prices. We really liked the house-made sodas and the pizza was good, if not just a bit too salty (extra pepperoni). I'm going to leave this at 4 stars and give you place another shot soon. Next time I'll try something other than pepperoni and see if maybe the saltiness was just in the pepperoni's.

Yelp
What a find - great Pizza and wonderful service. If you like New Haven style Pizza, you have to visit this place. The food and beer choices are perfect and our server David was awesome. Add this place as a must if you're in Eugene, OR

Yelp
My partner and I stopped in here for lunch today. It wasn't immediately obvious where to park but we ended up street parking as the lot across the street was full. We placed our order at the bar and then seated ourselves with our number. We did a build your own pizza with mushroom and bacon. We also got the mac and cheese because I always have to try it when I see it on the menu. The pizza was good. I wish it had more cheese and was a little less crispy, I'm not a huge fan of blackened crust but some people like that and that's okay! The mac and cheese was really good and was also a good size for what you pay. The bathroom was very clean. It is gender neutral and has four private stalls, something I wish more places did. The restaurant was also clean and huge with lots of seating. There are small tables, big tables, and booths. They have TVs and music going but there are also some quieter corners you can sit at if you want. The bar seemed to have good selection but we don't drink so we didn't get anything. We both recommend this place! The pizza is great and the atmosphere is good.

Yelp
The pizza was a let down. We had a Margherita - it came to us room temp but they just cooked it ? and it was more of a tomato sauce pie with a bit of cheese. I don't know if that's New Haven style- I've never been. but that's what it was. The crust was great though. Unfortunately the tomato sauce wasn't that great either so lack of cheese, mediocre tomato sauce (very acidy) made what could have been a great pie really meh for me. I liked the space though. Did I get a mis made pie? a defect?

Yelp
I say this as a person born and raised in New York: this is the best pizza in Eugene Springfield. The only difference is it's a smaller pie but they absolutely nail the smell, flavor, texture and smokiness of a good NY pizza. Very impressed and sad that I just discovered it after years of eating at MEZZA Luna.

Yelp
We stopped in to have dinner because this was a location that was giving back to the association we belong to. I ended up meeting the owner who was very friendly and helped us decide which pizza to order. We were worried the pizza would be too big for just 2 of us, but it was delicious and we apparently were more hungry than we thought because we devoured it.

Yelp
First of all, the cocktails are out of this world. I got a whisky ginger. They could have made it like every other establishment and just mixed it with ginger ale, but instead, they had their own fresh squeezed lemon and ginger mix ins. The small starter antipasto salad we ordered was plenty for the two of us. The dressing was bright and delicious. We loved the Longbridge hacker pizza. I wish it was a little less cooked so the crust wasn't as crispy, but the flavors were en pointe. The ranch dressing was homemade and full of fresh herbs. It was the perfect pairing to the pizza. The vibes are fantastic and the food is just as amazing. I look forward to our next trip to Eugene just for this place!

Yelp
i've been wanting to go down to the wheel for over a week and we finally pulled it off yesterday. There are little isolated spots where you can be away from the music and the TV, and then there's a table where we sat to watch Justin Herbert and the Chargers play football. These folks make their own beer, all of which very good. And they make I think what is the best pizza in town. It's my favorite pizza anyway. we had the Longbridge hacker yesterday, and it was sensationally good. Perfect crust, loaded with flavor. This is a great place for families or for dates or for people like us.

Yelp
Great experience! Eugene can be one of the most disappointing places to eat after 9pm but The Wheel is open later ! Bonus they make one of the best pies in town. This is New Haven style made with local Willamette Valley products. Service was great for just counter style, nice when people are friendly and a step ahead of your needs. Beautiful char on the Longbranch hacker and it did not disappoint. Fun, fresh, local food.

Yelp
Oh, Wheel, I'm so sorry. I have not updated my review in some years. You are five stars. You are an oasis of delicious food served by smart, kind, funny, aesthetically gifted humans. Thank you so much for expanding and providing us all with better acoustics and more comfortable seating. Thank you also for the fantastic new bathroom with beautiful tile and no waiting for the right stalls. And finally, thank you for lunch! Now with slices and a four dollar side salad that is worth every penny , if you start serving breakfast, I will probably be there for that too. You set the standards for local dining (especially now that Iz. Meji I'm left, sniff) & we rely on you , I'm thanks for all you do, so well. (Oh and the beers good too!)

Yelp
Don't understand what all the hullabaloos is all about. Sauce is mediocre, selection is limited.

Yelp
Gotta love getting treated unequally when the rest of the guests were being greeted friendly and warmly. $26 pizza that was as thin as paper and left both of us hungry..we have been coming here for years but apparently we aren't local enough to get treated with the respect that the rest of the customers were getting. There are too many decent pizza joints in town to keep returning to the wheel, and this will definitely be our last time!

Yelp
Food: My partner and I asked some REI employees (s/o if you guys are reading this for a 10/10 recommendation!!!) about their favorite local restaurants while we were visiting from California, and this one was one of them. We got the Vegan Pizza and it was PHENOMENAL. I'm not even a huge pizza person, and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. It's a thin crust and the toppings are high quality so it doesn't feel heavy or greasy at all. The vegan pesto was amazing. It was a very pleasant and delicious pizza. Service: We ordered on the phone and even though they had just put it through the oven when we arrived for pick up, we didn't have to wait too long. Ambiance: More of a sports bar type of restaurant. Not our scene, but it seemed clean and well maintained from what I saw while we were waiting. $25 for a pizza that is shareable between 2-3ish people.

Yelp
Really great pizzas. Fresh salads. I have only done carry out, so idk about service. The pepperoni pie was so flame this Tuesday!
google avatar

Cathy S.

Yelp
This place was popping on a Friday night but its bright and open interior makes it feel bigger and super family friendly! They have an area by the front that's more sports bar like, but there are also different arrangement of tables for all group sizes with wooden dividers in between to create booths. I always love a good picnic table seating and it worked really well for our group of 4 adults, a baby in a stroller and a toddler needing a high chair. You order and pay for drinks and food at the counter in the front and get a number for your table. Their tap and drink list is extensive and goes great with all the food they are serving. We really enjoyed the beet salad, smoked wings (a slow burn type of spicy in a good way), and two different types of pizzas - generous portions with leftovers to take home. They also had some great gluten-free options for our friend including the Mac and cheese and the meatballs. Good food, good food and good vibes here! Definitely recommend a visit if you are a pizza lover!

Vicki E.

Yelp
I had never heard of this restaurant until our adult son suggested we meet here for dinner. I loved the pizzas even though both of them had pepperoni!! Generally I'm a vegetarian pizza lover. The flavor of the sauce was excellent and the crust perfect. It didn't hurt that they had an excellent huckleberry cider. A great place to add to our restaurant rotation.

Yelp
Still an amazing spot for artisan/Neapolitan style pizza. Located in a brewery and dinner rush was hopping! You order at the bar, they give you a number, and then wait for the goodness to arrive. Tonight I tried the "Moby Dick" pizza that had olive oil, baby shrimp, bacon, fresh garlic, lemon, oregano, and chives. The combo really worked! The fresh garlic was just right and not over powering. The lemon also added to the flavor profile and was fun when you tasted it in a bite. The pizzas here are a little BIGGER than your typical Neapolitan style pizza. I was really hungry and struggled to finish the final two slices. I was impressed with how they cooked the thin crust to perfection. When in Eugene I will definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Not that good, don't waste your money here for mediocre pizza. Spent $50 for 2 pizzas and I was not impressed. Crust was good but overall pizza was meh.
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome food with great vibes. Never had New Haven pizza in New Haven, but I know why everyone boasts about it after trying this. They also seemed to have cards and board games so it's a great way to spend time with family/friends. I also liked the dining area -- a lot of the table were picnic bench style tables and felt very spacious ... didn't feel like I was right next to the patrons at the next table.

Yelp
Wowza, is this place fabulous! We had the hangrys after a sunset viewing at Skinner's Butte and pizza just sounded like it would hit the spot. Who knew we would find such a great option? Downtown Eugene has plenty to choose from, but if you're by the train station, then you'll find The Wheel. The weather was absolutely optimal, so we took the opportunity to sit near the big open garage door as a nice spring breeze tumbled by. There is ample seating inside and out, and it is a first-come, first-seated arrangement after ordering at the counter. Nice setup, reusable tableware (yay! for sustainable), and super friendly service paved the way for a pleasant dining experience. And that experience came in the form of a signature pizza, the Mar-Ee-O-Tah, in homage to the electric Duck quarterback of yesteryear. It was simply DEE-LISH, a melange of BBQ chicken, pineapple, jalapeños, and more and spare me the 'pineapple on pizza' culture war. Just try this pizza and you'll be beyond impressed. The crust is fired nicely, naturally leavened, and it stays crisp enough to hold the toppings without flopping downward. Even their red sauce has a certain zing, accentuating the overall product, and making for a well-executed pizza! Local beer rotates on tap, because Oregon, and there are ample vegetarian options splashed across The Wheel's menu. But the pizza is the draw, the ambience is worth the visit, and The Wheel is completely worth making a repeat visit (I just gotta get back there).

Yelp
Got the pizza to go and had a beer while waiting. Service was very good and quick. It was pretty busy and yet things still moved smoothly and efficiently it appeared. Pizza was very good and the beer, which is brewed at the location, was pretty tasty. Cool set up inside too. Would have ate at the location if the opportunity had been there.
google avatar

Yelp
The pizzas were good with very friendly staff. We ordered 4 pizzas plus buffalo cauliflower and drinks. We enjoyed everything. The only thing that kept us from going back would be how thirsty we all felt afterwards. It just felt like no amount of water is enough to get rid of the thirst the entire night. I don't know if it's just that day when we were there but I can't understand why it's so salty. But the food didn't taste salty though. We definitely want to go try the pizzas again though.
google avatar

Yelp
Picked up a slice of pepperoni for lunch and was quite taken back on how small the slice was for $5.00. The flavor was all there just the size was disappointing.. Most likely won't go back for just a slice. Which is a bummer because I like supporting local and it's close to my office.

Yelp
Consistently excellent pizza, daily salads and atmosphere. You will not be disappointed. Get the Mari"O"ta!!

Yelp
This is a great pizza place- dough is very chewy and flavorful and crispy around the crust. Delicious topping combos - we love the one with chicken jalapeño and pineapple. As for drinks - their beers and wines, but also the nonalcoholic options on tap are great. The staff is so friendly every time we go and it's just a great relaxed atmosphere.

Yelp
Oh how I love thee, let me count the ways. Conveniently located next to my favorite bouldering gym, this place is one of my go-to establishments. They have a great selection of local beers on tap as well as wine, cider, kombucha and other specialty beverages. They have a pretty efficient system ordering at the bar and then to you take a number to your table to be found when your food is ready. Funky artwork, happy tunes in the background and uber friendly waitstaff. I usually get the same thing everytime, sausage and pepper pizza and sometimes meatballs as an appetizer. The meatballs are some of the best I've had, they have lamb and beef mixed, not super gamy like some lamb. They have a water station for all your hydration needs for those sticking to the h20 way. Come check this place out 7 days a week, opens at noon!

Yelp
If you haven't been to the Wheel since their expansion, you're gonna love it! They expanded their dining area, giving a much more airy and open feel! The bar addition is awesome! They also have 2 roll up doors now and a covered outdoor eating area! The space is great, all the reclaimed wood and the charm of a building that is over 100 years old, building built in 1916! The food is amazing! I love the fact it's organic and locally sourced. Everything from their salads, appetizers and pies, you can't go wrong. Plus you can enjoy a refreshing drink rather non-alcoholic, beer or cocktails! This space is great and the customer service, always friendly and accommodating! You can't go wrong if you stop in for a bite or drinks!

Yelp

Yelp
Wow! Nailed the New Haven style of Pizza!!! Perfect char! Thin & crispy! Tangy sauce! All around delicious!! The wedge salad was a delicious side!

Yelp
Normally I absolutely love Wheel a Pizza but the last few times I have left wishing we had gone elsewhere. Cough "hey neighbor" cough! Service is great and husband loves the beer but there is wood fired and then there is burnt. No one wants burnt pizza. I ate most of the slice only because I was starving but come on folks do better.

Yelp
The Wheel APizza is energetically relaxing. Their pizza tasted how a fresh spark of excitement would taste if it was food. The lively atmosphere of weekend goers only complimented how relaxed the staff was. It was very gratifying to see staff members just as relaxed while working. This experience kickstarted a perfect start to a rainy weekend. The in-house brews were honestly pairing to our pizza's impressively. Honestly, it was almost as if they created the brew flavor combinations with a slice of the pizza taped to there face. Check out our pizza and brews listed below and try for yourself! The Wheel APizza has already guaranteed a solid return from my family. Pizza ordered: - Portobella & Pear - Mar-ee-O-tah - Longbridge Hacker Brews ordered: - Quest Pils - Scando Rustic Blonde with nitro

Yelp
Wow! Food was phenomenal, and service was 1000/10! (Shout out to Audrey!) Ambiance was nice as well, so it hit all the notes! We got the seasonal salad (big portion for inly $14, so that was rad!) and the meat lover's pizza. Roasted garlic, kale and a ton of meat...SO GOOD. We will be coming back again and again!
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
I've been to Wheel Apizza a couple times, and their pizza has been pretty consistent. You can taste the quality of their locally sourced ingredients, which makes the pizza taste amazing, but cost quite a bit ($25 for a 14" thin crust is kinda rough). It can get kinda loud inside (it's definitely a pub), but not overwhelming when you know what to expect. Seating is generally based around several of large (8-10 person) tables with a mix of benches and individual chairs. We've tried the Longbridge Hacker, the Portobella and Pear, and one other (it's slipping my mind), and they were all really flavorful. I'm personally partial to a slightly thicker crust pizza (and generally have a larger appetite), so I'm always torn between spending a lot of money or leaving a little bit hungry. Their ginger soda and shrubs are really good, so definitely give those a try. Over all, the flavor is probably 4-4.5 stars, but I feel forced to give 3.5-4 stars for overall value since their price is so high given the portions.

Cynthia P.

Yelp
I've been here several times and ordered a full pie which have been fine. On this occasion, we ordered slices. HORRIBLE...both were burnt. Sent back and got yet another burnt slice.

Yelp
Came to Eugene from Los Angeles this week and needed to try this place. I was very satisfied with the pizza, the cheese and toppings were perfection. Got the sausage pepper pizza and it was truly amazing. The staff was really nice and had great vibes all around. Shout out to Ricky and Dave! If you're coming this season, make sure to try the spicy pickle margarita.

Yelp
Great pizza ! I love the variety and the classic pizzas are always great! Great atmosphere too! Servers are always friendly too.

Yelp
I have been hearing about this place for quite some time. And then when I heard their pizza dough is sourdough, that made me want to eat there. The reason behind that is sourdough bread has a lower glycemic value, meaning it turns to sugar in your blood slower than the usual crusts. I must be critical though because, as is the case with so many restaurants these days, the noise and volume of the crowd when the restaurant is busy is just too much. We were dining with two people, one of whom I had never made the acquaintance, and it was really difficult to communicate without being right in each others face. And with a new person, a little distance is more comfortable for both parties. It was a warm evening so the windows and doors were open and made for a comfortable fresh air dining experience. I had a glass of wine which I enjoyed very much and the two men in our party had house brewed beers, which they seemed to enjoy. And another person had a margarita which she didn't quite finish. So I don't know what her opinion was on it, Now, for the food. Despite my excitement about a sourdough crust, I didn't feel like having pizza! I had a polenta dish with meatballs. Normally that dish is prepared with sausage, but I was craving meatballs. It's not on the menu so it was a substitution and somehow it got kind of mixed up. But in the end, I got my meatballs which were excellent. And polenta was very nicely prepared and very moist. I think the marinara is one of the best I've ever had. The men had the pizza and they really liked that as well. I did get to try it and I liked it. Definitely a flavorful crust. The other person in our party had the beet salad which I was lucky enough to get a taste of as well. I thought it was great and she finished the whole thing which, indeed, was a sizable portion. All in all it was a fine experience and I think the four stars really just relates to how darn noisy the place was/is. We definitely will return.

Yelp
One of the best places around to get a quality pie. Order the margherita, add fresh arugula and thank me later. Haven't been inside in awhile but it seems like they've expanded and added some TVs! Staff are always friendly, outside of one instance, but maybe it just wasn't their day. Place can get busy, because well, it's some damn good pizza!
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious! I got the Mariota (minus the pineapple) and it exceeded my expectations. Thin crust deliciousness!!!! My husband had a diy pizza and he loved it. They have lots of different toppings to choose from. The wings were superb. Beer is lovely. They said they switch the recipes up often. They have indoor and outdoor seating and quite a laid back atmosphere. We sat outside and still got great service.

Yelp
Current small batch, sour barrel-aged beer Continuum compares to Alesong. Been back four times it's so good. They only made a few barrels so hurry in. awesome pizza and salads as well.

Yelp
First time but won't be the last. Had an awesome Arugula beet salad, the arugula can be bitter , but with the beets , pickled onion and oranges it took that bitterness away. Everything complements each other so well. A must order again for me! We also had the Margherita pizza & pepperoni pizza. Loved them both crust was nice a crispy and thin. Very clean inside and the servers were very polite and friendly. Nice relaxing place and clean.

Yelp
This place is legit. Great pie . Some say it's burnt but pizza not supposed yo be doughy like Dominos . Get here and eat some slices!!!

Yelp
Omg we wish we found this place sooner in our travels. Sourdough crust (natural rise), organize ingredients, craft soda and great beer!!! We had a margarita and build your own for lunch and both were delicious. My son had the craft cream soda and we had beer (ipa and sour) we each loved our choices

Yelp
One of the many things I have learned this past year is to really jump at the chance to visit a business I am interested in visiting. If there is a spot that you have been meaning to check out sprint to get yourself through their doors. The Wheel Apizza Pub is one of these spots for me. I have been wanting to visit their Whiteaker location since they first open but only recently had the chance to finally make it in. I am so upset with myself that it took me so long. As soon as I walked through the patio entrance I was hit with a great sense of nostalgia for warm summer afternoons getting together with friends for a drink and good food. The Wheel would have been an excellent location for on of these outings. It still can be if you are comfortable with dining out! They have a spacious seating area, a full bar, and an open area where you can watch them sling pizza. Now onto the food! Their pizza is what I would call 'easy pizza'. What I mean is it's very easy to eat. I ate nearly a third of the pie before being stopped by my husband begging for his own slice. I could have easily eaten the entire thing myself if there wasn't any interruptions. I ordered the margherita, which is always my go to pizza. But I am looking forward to trying their others. I can not, CAN NOT, wait until the world opens back up so I can send out that group text to everyone saying to meet me here. I'm really looking forward to that day.

Yelp
This place has been on my to-try list for awhile now, and I'm so sad it took me so long to come in! If you haven't visited before, the restaurant took over the space that used to host Wild Craft Cider (which is just down the road now) and it is a fun, modern industrial style. They have larger indoor picnic tables, some smaller tables with barstools and some outdoor seating. They also have a garage door that is open when the weather is nice which is especially helpful during covid. They also have parking in a shared lot across from the entrance. We ordered the meat pizza special and the salad special at the recommendation of our server and thought both were fantastic. Some have mentioned the crust being burnt, but this is really just the style of the pizza (it's wood fired) and it doesn't taste burnt at all. We found the portions to be pretty generous. If you're not super hungry, one of the pizzas could probably feed 3-4 people, especially if you order other sides or salads. They source a lot of their ingredients from local farmers and you can definitely tell! Lastly, we also shared a flight and got to try a decent selection of their beers. They make all different kinds of styles including IPAs, quads, sours, ales and stouts. We really liked the quad, the golden sour ale and the Oregon IPA. They offer most of their beers in smaller taster sizes if you're not ready to commit to a full pour. Overall, I highly recommend stopping in!

Yelp
Calling pizza lovers in Eugene: you need to try this place! I don't think I would have stumbled across The Wheel Apizza Pub without Yelp--it's outside of the downtown area next to the train tracks--but I'm sure glad I did. Don't miss it! Pick from approximately a dozen pies, which are 14" and a good size to split between two people, especially if you try one of the fresh salads. The Wheel Apizza Pub has a nice variety of craft and bottled beers for you to couple with your slices of heaven, which is made even better (at least during the summer and early fall) with its half-indoor/half-outdoor table setup. Seriously, if you like pizza, get over to this place.

Yelp
This is not a place I would return to, because the pizza crust is soggy. It is a thin, floppy pizza. The side salad was hard to eat, too, with long stems on spinach leaves. I cannot honestly recommend this restaurant.
