The Whiskey Room Pflugerville

The first time I visited Whiskey Room, I absolutely fell in love with the place. It’s close to my home, the atmosphere was great, the drinks were amazing, and the bartender that night was incredibly kind and welcoming. I truly thought I had found my new go-to spot. Unfortunately, my experience on my second visit was the complete opposite. I have never experienced racism in my life—born and raised here in Austin as a Hispanic American, I’ve always felt welcomed in my own city. But today, for the first time, I felt the opposite. The bartender on duty completely ignored me.(not the same one from my first visit) She looked at me several times but never acknowledged me, never said “I’ll be right with you,” nothing. She served every single white customer around me, including people who walked in after I did. A white man standing next to me even commented, “Wow, she still hasn’t helped you. I know she saw you.” That says everything. After standing there for about 20–25 minutes, being intentionally passed over while she chatted and served everyone else, I left. I’ve never felt so unwelcome in a place I previously enjoyed so much. I’m extremely disappointed. No one should ever be made to feel that way.

You have a guy working right now that I guess enjoys talking crap to your customers. He told me that y’all didn’t have salt to dress my beer after telling me y’all had no bitters for an old fashion. Then he said it was gross that I wanted it dressed and I told him that it’s a good thing he is not drinking it and that I liked it that way. He then told me that he would buy my beer but that he ain’t dressing it. I was pissed and left the beer there. Let’s also add that he’s excuse is that he thinks it’s gross the put salt on a bottle that is stored next to rat droppings. So I’m not sure that the whiskey room is ok with him telling patrons that.

Mark the bartender was amazing. Very positive attitude and great service. He made certain we felt welcome and made sure service was great. Will come again and invite others. Great hearing the story of the mirror.

There are a lot of things wrong with this bar, but I’m just going to mention one. “THE WHISKY ROOM”……….this is no way any kind of “whisky” anything. You need to have some knowledge on whisky and you MUST know how to make an “Old Fashioned”. You must have a variety of whisky’s and know the difference between them. Then there is the word bar behind it. I’ve ran 2 very profitable bars. And what I’ve come to know is that there are “bars” and there are places with alcohol that you can pay 3x for. This is definitely the ladder. It really should be named “the dive place”. Then the name would fit. I also feel I should put this out there. When you don’t except “Apple Pay” you need to let your new customers know at the beginning of the interaction. What you should not do is call them a walk out or “dead beat” just because YOU don’t except this new kind of currency. Don’t worry though, I’ll come back again soon. Being I just purchased a house around the corner. But it will be after the sale and the name is changed. Until then it’s off to the Red Rooster and the Victory bar. Have a nice day.

This place rocks! Nice chill spot! Joey is an awesome bartender! Highly recommended if you're ever in Pflugerville, Texas.

I hate going places and wasting my time, my time is valuable. I came here after work to get a drink wanted to try it out, unfortunately I left after 20 minutes with no drink. Waited forever to get service, just for the bartender to serve someone else while she was supposed to be making my drink. Either way won't be going back, waste of time.

Not crazy about the dj's choices but still had a great time.

These guys recently changed ownership and management. Still working through some kinks, but this is a cool place with whatever sports you want to watch, karaoke and live bands, free pool, and a better whiskey selection than most anywhere else up north. Dive bar vibes? absolutely. Classy booze options? also yes. Friendly and attractive crowd? you bet.

I've been going here weekly for a few months now. That said, I can't in good conscience rate this place higher. This rating is only for karaoke night, any way. The place is clean, pool tables in the front, game consoles in the back, TVs throughout. They don't serve food here, but my bartender was friendly enough. Honestly, there are cheaper drinks to be had elsewhere.

The bartenders drink behind the bar rude as fuck if you have a situation. I don't recommend this bar or waste your money. Thier attitude is disrespectful

Zero stars given, RACISM TO THE FULLEST They acted like we didn't have money but then when we didnt "TIP" they caught an attitude with us and refused to serve us anymore. Mind you, when I asked what drink specials they had the bartender said, our drinks are cheap as fuck. Our drinks are cheap as fuck. I told her that's not what I'm asking. My friend birthday is today then she said we have no discount for that. Our drinks are cheap as fuck. Racist establishment if you're black or Mexican don't go there. Customer Service is a 0-0 Do not go there Also, the restrooms were dirty as fuck

Great local bar. Cheap drinks and great music. Also has pool tables! Yay! I enjoy myself every time I'm here.

Service is nice. Shots are a little pricey cheapest is $5 and up, beers go for $3.75 and higher. Environment is cozy. Music and karaoke nights. If you get a draft make sure your bartender can actually pour a draft... CORRECTLY.
