"There’s a lot to love about this imposing 15C chantry house. There’s the three-storey, vaulted dining room for starters, joined by a cosy open-fired bar and a minstrels’ gallery, while outside you’ll find a terrace, a vegetable garden and an outdoor kitchen with wood-fired oven. The cooking is guided by their own seasonal produce, with both British and Mediterranean influences on the flavoursome, carefully prepared dishes. The friendly service team run the restaurant well." - Michelin Inspector

Booked for a Sunday lunch a few weeks ago and pretty disappointed with the food and service. Long time waiting for food to be served and we requested extra tap water and extra seasoning that never arrived. Mushroom and tarragon soup was not seasoned and very watery consistency, didn’t taste like mushrooms. Bread and butter accompanying it was decent but overall a very poor starters and would not recommend it. The beef roast was served in a good portion and high quality ingredients but again under seasoned, average taste and overpriced for what you get served. I have been to The White Hart many times in the past and it really disappointed me this time. It is such a beautiful place, and it used to have such high quality dishes so I was expecting a better experience. There are definitely better options for a Sunday Roast in the nearby villages.

Lovely country pub. I have been a number of times but first time for Sunday lunch. Both my wife and I are vegetarian so had the celeriac main and a portion of sides. Overall food was plain in taste and small portion size, compared to the ample meat dishes which my friends had. Tomato starter was nice and the desserts were all sensational. Outdoor loos were cold and wet, unnecessary for a gastro pub, needs an upgrade

My brother, sister-in-law, and I had a wonderful meal here on 30/10/24. catering for three foodies who happen to be vegetarian - and one (me) vegan - can be a tall order, but there was plenty to tempt us and what we chose was divine. There was a superb wine selection and the staff were first class - Molly was a delight. It turned out that after three hours (yes, that's how long we sat there) our table was required by other diners - but Will couldn't have been kinder in letting us know. As for the photo... sorry, I couldn't wait to eat it...

We went in a large group, and the food and service was incredible. Shyan was patient, fun and efficient. The food was fantastic - delicious, well cooked, good portions. And it's a beautiful setting.

WHAT AN INCREDIBLE LUNCH! The hash browns are one of the tastier snacks I’ve had, and the baked Alaska is genuinely a piece of art, but the headline here is that they’ve changed the pork…….. for the better! Wow wow wow! Absolutely loved it! Service as always flawless, Fanni and Will were excellent as were all the other team! Once again that white hart magic comes through! Thanks so much

We went for a birthday and opted for the "Wednesday night dinner club" menu sharing a starter and pudding. Food was well presented and delicious. Service was top-notch and there is a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended and look forward to our next visit!

We had our wedding dinner here at the end of August, and were absolutely thrilled with the whole experience! Everyone we spoke to was very friendly, professional, and patient, and the food was amazing - we still have people mentioning it when we see them! We had 25 people in total, so were able to fit in the lovely Chantry Room, which made it feel like we had booked out the whole place. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Molly in particular was just the perfect person to help take us through the evening, understood exactly how we wanted things to go, and made the evening even more joyful! We've been at the White Hart a few times before, and it is always fantastic. We were so pleased to be able to share this special place with our friends and family, and so grateful for a perfect evening. We really couldn't have wished for anything else!

This place is a nice find. Everything is good about this place. All food great - starter, main and dessert. Nice wine too. Very helpful staff. Great atmosphere when you walk in. Nothing negative. It is one of those cosy country places with a fire, but great food too.
