"Previously the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead, the Whitley is a short walk to the Georgia Aquarium, the World of Coca-Cola, the College Football Hall of Fame, and the Center for Civil and Human Rights. "In December 2017, one of the country’s oldest Ritz-Carlton properties was rebranded as The Whitley, and though the name may have changed, the property’s high standard of elegance endures. The 507 stately guest rooms—which start at a spacious 720 square feet—are currently undergoing a refresh (but still include comforts like high-thread-count sheets and Nespresso machines), and the restaurant and bar have been reimagined as Trade Root, a Mediterranean-meets-Southern lounge featuring house-made pastas, an extensive selection of cheese and charcuterie, and craft sodas and cocktails. Guests can avail themselves of the indoor lap pool—a top-floor beauty with a stunner of a glass roof—as well as a fitness center and spa, or indulge in a little retail therapy in the neighboring shops of Buckhead. No doubt further renovations will ensure that this hotel remains an icon well into the next generation."

Absolutely loved my stay at this hotel in Atlanta, Georgia! From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm, welcoming, and incredibly professional. The room was spotless, spacious, and beautifully designed for comfort. The location was perfect—close to everything I needed. Every detail, from the amenities to the service, was top-notch. A true 5-star experience—I’ll definitely be staying here again!

My experience with the Whitney Hotel was so amazing. I spent 2 days, and I have so many things to say. This hotel is so clean that your room makes you feel like you never want to leave. The room is so nice, and the overall amenities are very modern. Customer Service is top tier from start to finish. Max and Romerio checked on me many times just to see if I was ok. A "BIG"shout out goes out to Hassan, "You are my angel. Thank you for making my stay amazing. You really went over and beyond.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. I felt very safe during our visit, and thankfully, there were no issues with my vehicle. The front desk staff were extremely helpful and informative, making the experience even better. My little one absolutely loved the candy bowls she couldn’t get enough of them! I also appreciated the convenience of being able to walk to Lenox Mall and having a variety of restaurants nearby. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely stay here again.

First off, the staff here is absolutely outstanding. Polite, helpful, courteous and so very welcoming. |Truly all of them are amazing. ||Now the bad, the room walls are paper thin and you can hear everything from doors slamming shut and people going to the bathroom…it’s not a well insulated hotel or built well. |Shower door won’t even close all the way as water trickles out the door onto the floor. |AC units are absolutely disgusting. The vents have dust and mold in them I cut my off at night and rather sleep hot than breath the air. |Quality of food…(bfast only) the bacon is advertised as Apple smoked but it’s cheap package for the money you pay and for a $50 bfast it wasn’t Luxury Collection level. |Workout room, looked great from photos but it’s so outdated. The treadmills are from the 90s I think. The machines were meh. The equipment and cleanliness of the area wasn’t great. ||Again, the staff, outstanding…the property (more so the guest rooms) not so much for a Luxury Collection.

Google
Clean, Spacious, and Friendly—but Not Worth the Price Tag I recently stayed at The Whitley Hotel in Atlanta and had a decent experience, but one that left me questioning the overall value. The positives: the rooms are exceptionally clean and very spacious—definitely a strong point. The staff was great across the board: friendly, professional, and attentive, which added a nice touch to the stay. That said, for the price, the amenities are surprisingly limited. There just isn’t much offered that sets this property apart in the luxury category. The real sticking point is the parking. Self-parking is \$50 *each time* you leave and return, which is incredibly inconvenient if you’re planning to come and go. The alternative is valet parking, which is \$65 for the stay—not per day—but that still means your \$210 room jumps to \$275 for the first night. For that kind of money, there are likely more luxurious options in Atlanta with better perks and less hassle. In short: great rooms, great staff—but the overall value doesn’t quite add up.

Stayed just for a night for a short weekend trip and couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay. Quite affordable for the location, just make sure you understand that there will be valet charges. The entire staff was very helpful and welcoming! Beautiful hotel and the room was incredibly clean and a lot bigger than it looks in the pictures! truly no complaints, clean, organized and the staff was very hard working. We will be staying here the next time we are in ATL. Thanks so much for the incredible service!

We absolutely loved our stay at The Whitley this past weekend for my sister’s birthday! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth, hospitality, and first-class service. The hotel is stunning, pure Southern luxury. The food was incredible, and the Trade Root Restaurant really delivered a great dining experience. But the real standout was the staff, especially Shonta, the manager, who made us feel right at home. She was kind, attentive, and truly cared about making our celebration special.||So if you’re looking for a luxury hotel in the heart of Buckhead, The Whitley is the one. And here's a huge thank you to the entire team, we’ll definitely be back!

Hi Cesar, As a Marriott Gold Elite member, I travel extensively and am loyal to the Marriott brand. I would like to share the experience that my family and I had at your hotel this weekend. Firstly, we arrived at midnight after a 6-hour drive from Florida. We got lucky and found a close parking spot. Of course, we were exhausted. One of your valet attendants immediately greeted us, and we felt safe and secure as they assisted us with unloading our luggage and personally escorted us to the front desk. Your front desk staff were wide awake, warm, and pleasant. They acknowledged the time and greeted our children. This meant a lot to me because, from the moment we arrived, the property staff were attentive to our needs and waited on us. When we arrived in the room, it was spotless and had all of the essentials we needed for a great stay. We appreciated the complimentary water, clean linens, and towels. We also didn't realize our proximity to the malls and restaurants. (What a great bonus!) I decided to pre-purchase food at your hotel, and it did not disappoint either! My kids had the chocolate chip pancakes, and I had the breakfast buffet. Kudos to you and your team for doing such a great job. I will highly recommend your hotel to all my coworkers and friends. Please keep up the great work, Cesar! See you guys again soon! God bless! CS

Yelp
I didn't stay at the hotel but went here with family for a cocktail-making class, and it was such a fun experience! The bartender was incredibly welcoming, and we had some great conversations with him. He made drinks for everyone and guided us through making our own. My favorite was the blueberry ginger tequila cocktail--such an amazing mix of flavors! One thing they could improve on is adding more details about the class on their website. We were a little confused about the start time and how long the class would last. A nice surprise was that each group got their own cheese board, which was a great addition we didn't know about beforehand. The bartender, who was Ethiopian, also let us try some honey wine he made, which he mentioned is a popular drink in Ethiopia. It was so good! If you're ever just hanging at the bar, definitely ask about it. Overall, it was a fantastic experience--great bartender, great drinks, and a lot of fun. I'll definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Wow! To say I'm impressed is an understatement! While I usually stay downtown for my work trips, the usual hotels were sold out so I ventured over to Buckhead and stayed at The Whitley! Upon arrival, I could tell it was going to be a lovely experience! The entire hotel was decorated for the holidays and it looked stunning with the greenery and white lights. Once inside, I went to check in and the staff was super helpful and incredibly friendly! They also had candy bowls out which I loved (I have a bad sweet tooth). I was quickly given my keys and off to my room I went. The room itself was clean and pretty too with an amazing view at evening. I put my stuff down and then went to the lounge which again was very nice and had everything I needed (tea, coffee, salad, and dessert). The next parking I went to the gym where they had a pretty good setup with cardio equipment (including peloton bikes) and plenty of weights). Each day was a good experience at this hotel. I will absolutely stay at this hotel again and was very happy with everything.

Yelp
All credits for this night stay goes to a very friendly and professional hotel staff. Starting with Valet parking, Front Desk, server in the restaurant provided an excellent service. The hotel is clean, but a bit updated. Food served was a bar menu and a solid menu selection. The Club was closed for the holiday weekend.

Yelp
***Warning: My room had roaches*** Came to this hotel for a stay-cation. Drove there and booked with the front desk the same night. The guy working was really nice and accommodating. The room was also really comfortable and we loved the decor. The issue came the next morning. While getting ready we saw several cockroaches in the room. Our room was on the 5th floor so if they were in our room then its likely that they're in the entire hotel. We checked out and left but later on I called the hotel to inform them of the issue. The lady I spoke with said she would look into it. However, she never asked for the reservation or the room number to investigate the issue. I asked her why she didn't ask for that information but she gave an odd response which led me to believe that she doesn't care and wont do anything about it. I'm disappointed because I enjoyed my stay up until the roaches. However, I will not be back

Yelp
Does it exude luxury high-end? Yes. But when you check in, the valet harasses you and barely gives you a hot minute to compose yourself to get out of the car and check-in. Like, back off and let me breathe for a second. This was our first impression driving up to check into our hotel for the weekend. Stressful. They had issues letting me check in because my spouse was the main on our reservation. Never had this issue before with a Marriott but here we were. Back outside to switch places with my husband and deal with the valet guy asking once more what we wanted to do. Finally I had to ask the options and was rudely told valet is the only option for in and out service and self parking is by the hour. The room itself was nice and well appointed. The beds are comfy and you get a good night's rest. It's spacious and quiet as well. There was condensation on our windows each morning which made for a wet feel if you sat on the chaise in the room. Otherwise, great. Housekeeping was good. Our room was very clean. Loved it. Restaurant in hotel took forever to be served. Over 40 minutes for a salad and a scoop of icy vanilla ice cream. We wanted to leave but no one was staffing for us to ask to cancel and go elsewhere. It's a beautiful hotel and lives up to the luxury vibe but I think the customer service could be more on par with luxury. Would likely stay at a JW Marriott down the street next time. Luxury should be an all around feeel not just the decor of your building and rooms.

Yelp
This place is truly amazing!!! Beds and pillows were super comfortable and staff was very welcoming. I've stayed in many hotels and resorts, but this place left me in awe. Kudos to whomever did their interior decorating. I loved all the artwork and chandeliers. The room was spacious overlooking the city area. Everything is spotless and smelled good throughout the whole place. I know it's weird to mention, but sometimes when places are old or normal wear and tear a place can smell musty. The hotel has a bar, a ballroom, spa, indoor pool with jacuzzi, dining area that offers breakfast brunch for $40/pp, and gym. It's pet friendly.

Yelp
Beautiful place! First time here but I'm told it used to be the Ritz Carlton . We are here celebrating our friend's 76th birthday . What a beautiful celebration at a beautiful hotel. Hotel of luxury! I did not get the opportunity to tour the place but from what I did see it's gorgeous. So many meeting rooms and that's just the first floor. The lounge was full due to so many events tonight. Rooms are running b/t $300 to $500. Ouch! Our friend along with other guests are staying overnight here. He deserves it it's his birthday and he proposed to his longtime girlfriend. So we may be back for the wedding Valet parking $55. We parked at the Monarch which is next door - $20 parking. I snapped a couple of photos of the lobby and lounge area. The food was tasty! Appetizers - buffalo chicken egg rolls, salmon skewers, scallops wrapped with bacon. Chicken egg rolls were . A little spicy but tolerable. The main entree was mashed potatoes, pork roast, stewed collards, green beans, mashed sweet potatoes. There was also a pasta bar where they were preparing your pasta with grilled chicken or shrimp. Alfredo or Mariana sauce. It was delicious!

Yelp
Stayed here for a work trip, so I did not pay for the room. Just putting that out there first. Was able to check into my room a lot earlier than expected, which was wonderful for this weary and tired traveler. It's within walking distance to the MARTA station, but it can be a tiresome walk depending on the weather and your luggage situation. The bed, sheets, and pillows were wonderful. I've never had a hotel room that actually felt great to sleep in. Pillows are usually the hardest things to get right, and these pillows were great. Shower not only had the typical shower head, but also had the handheld extension. So thankful for that. Got lost trying to find the check in desk, since I entered through the side of the building and wounded up where all the conference rooms are. But you'll get the hang of it. I think my only wish is that I had a coffee maker in the room, instead of making coffee at the communal coffee area in the lobby. They have a little card that says you can request a coffee maker and mini fridge, but I didn't see that until it was too late. Wonderful experience. I will say the one negative thing was the very steep incidentals fee. $250 is very very pricey and I wish I had been informed of how much that was to begin with. It did take a day or two for that money to come off hold in the bank, but wowzas...

Yelp
I stayed at the Whitley times before and they always exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the service was impeccable. The staff were mannerly, attentive, and went out of their way to ensure my comfort. The room was spacious, elegantly furnished with design in mind, and equipped with a tv guide, mini fridge full of refreshments, snacks, dining menu, & bath necessities. The bed was incredibly comfortable. I have not tried the dining but there are restaurants walking distance. The lobby is my favorite part of the hotel. It reflects the hotel's commitment to high end living. The bar connected is also the highlight of my stay! Breakfast is bountiful and delicious with an additional $35 charge. They also offer spa services and a have a pool you can relax and enjoy on a Hotlanta day!

Yelp
I booked my wife at the Whitley for mothers day weekend. I figured that this was a great gift and would make for a wonderful stress free weekend while I tended to the kids at home. It was anything but stress free. The Wifi didn't work and they customer service sucked. They didn't even seem truly concerned, telling her that she could come to the lobby if she wanted to use Wifi. After she checked out she wrote a review. They responded saying they were sorry and they hope she comes back again in the future. They definitely do not represent an upper echelon brand of hotel that caters to their clientele. I do not recommend.

Yelp
I recently had the chance to stay at The Whitley in the Buckhead area of Atlanta. The luxury hotel, which used to be a Ritz-Carlton, was located near all of the big shopping centers and key dining establishments in the neighborhood. The check-in process was a breeze, and the staff was simply amazing in general. From the valets to the front desk crew to the folks maintaining the locker rooms at the pool, everyone was friendly, helpful, and diligent about their responsibilities. The hotel room was well-appointed and reasonably spacious. The bed was extremely comfortable, though there were some stains on the box spring and tears in my sheets, which were a bit unsettling. In fact, I found the room clean-ish...The back of the bathroom door had drips of a sticky, blue liquid all over it. I assumed some sort of detergent had splattered on it, but it was fairly noticeable, so I was surprised it had not been wiped off. In fact, I just did it myself, so that I would not continually touch it accidentally. In regards to the amenities, I did not try the restaurant or bar, but did hear positive reviews on them both. There was a section of the lobby that had coffee makers, fresh fruit, packaged candies, and/or cookies available throughout the day, which was a generous touch. There were also an indoor pool and hot tub, an outdoor lounge, and a large gym on the second floor. The gym offered a ton of new machines, 2 complete sets of hand weights, a mat (could have used at least 1 more), etc. There was also a spin bike, but it was a bit beat up in that the handlebars were loose, no matter how much you tightened the nob. It was still rideable, though. Lastly, the staff continually stopped in to make sure the facility was stocked with towels, water bottles, headphones, and bath products in the locker rooms. All in all, it was a pleasant stay, and I would attribute the majority of the positive experience to the gracious staff.

Yelp
I had such a great stay in Jan 2024 that I'm staying again later this month. As a hotel snob, this speaks volumes for me, and I'd much rather find a great hotel versus trying out a new spot all of the time. From the front door service upon arrival, to check-in to check-out, the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is lovely, and don't forget to spend time at the sauna, or grab a paper and a piece of fresh fruit on your way out or in. These are small but pleasant details that improve the experience. The room itself was also nice, loved the bed and bedding, it was quiet, the curtains were thick enough to keep the room dark at night/for sleep. Can't wait to return! I'm surprised that this doesn't rate at 4-stars. For the price (with tax, fees etc..) its less than $300

Yelp
I am from out of state and was visiting my son. After being out all day we tried to return to our room but the hotel has an unplanned guest that required the secret service and police presence. I called to ask if guests were allowed back in. The manager said park across the street and wait. I asked if she knew timing and she rudely said that's all she could tell me. She didn't take my name or offer for us to wait at the Marriott that was 5 min away. About an hour and a half later I was able to text with another hotel worker who said they had a tent set-up for all guests - which available when I spoke to the manager. The sales director, Cesar, emailed me to say they would like to give you Marriott points - I didn't ask for them - and after three weeks still has not given them to me. Why even offer it. The lack of communication and just driving around for hours not knowing anything was a bit much for what is supposed to be a five star hotel. Positives - check in was great Con - Tasha at check out was not good

Yelp
Luxury hotel but not at an insane price. My husband and I did a weekend trip here for our wedding anniversary and really enjoyed our stay. We were initially going to book at the St Regis (because we have reservations at The Garden Room) or another nearby hotel but couldn't swallow the price. I then stumbled upon the Whitley. From the photos and reviews it still seemed luxury without the 1k nightly room rate. The staff is friendly and attentive. The amenities are nice plus it's conveniently located to great dining, shopping and things to do. My highlights: * The aesthetic is very trendy and modern * Very comfortable mattress and bedding * Cool indoor glass ceiling pool * Great smelling soaps/shampoo * Friendly and quick valet

Yelp
Had a very nice weekend at The Whitley and loved the staff most of all. Easy check in and then a follow up call to make sure I liked my room. I'm Envoy Gold so nice perks like the lounge (1 day only due to refurbish) and free breakfast daily. My only problem was cold breakfast buffet food like potatoes and eggs. No idea why. Bar was fun and lively with really good food. I'd never heard of she-crab soup but it's great. Area is a shoppers dream with two huge upscale centers within walking distance. Very good experience and I'd go back.

Yelp
I recently stayed at The Whitley from September 21-23 while in town for business. Upon check in, I was greeted by a rude front desk attendant who clearly did not want to be at work. I did check in at 11 pm so I can understand that it was late, and she might have been tired but I am not the one who creates her schedule and the attitude that she displayed should be directed towards whoever does and not at me. When I got up to my room, I had to call down as I had a package that I was expecting. After asking if it had been delivered, she simply said "okay" and hung up on me without letting me know what the next steps would be and if it had arrived. Luckily it had and a gentleman from security was able to bring it up to me. Unfortunately, this was just the beginning of the problems that would arise during my stay. The next day, I returned to the hotel at about 4 pm to find that my door had been left open by the cleaning staff. I immediately called downstairs to let them know of the incident and then went through my things to make sure that everything was accounted for. The room service manager did come up and apologize profusely for the incident. The front desk PM manager also called and I went down to talk to her and she offered me 10,000 points but let me know that she would be reaching out to security and room service managers. From my understanding, they are the ones that say how many points the guest is to receive and the front desk simply distributes them. I then left for a few hours and returned to find out that 5,000 additional points could be awarded. This did not seem sufficient for the lack of care I felt for not only my belongings, but my personal well-being. She let me know that she would go back again to see if any additional points could be added but that it was not likely. I then asked for the contact information of the general manager, which she was beyond reluctant to give. She let me know that she could give me her director's email and they would forward it to you. After going back and forth (and being interrupted numerous times), I let her know that I would like to contact you directly, and finally received your contact information. The next morning, I checked out and honestly have never been so happy to get out of a hotel. While at the front desk, I was completely insulted by your AM front desk manager who insinuated that was lying about the situation. She showed me the security log that displayed that the door was open at 2 (for cleaning) and 4 (when I returned to the hotel). She informed me that if the door had truly been closed, my key card wouldn't have registered at 4:00. I then demonstrated to her what had happened and explained to her that when I return to hotels, I (and probably 99%) of other people, have my key card in my hand in preparation to open my door as I NEVER expect it to be open. My key card was placed on my door and I noticed it was open when I was able to simply push the door instead of having to utilize the handle. I'm sure that you are aware that this is not how your hotel doors open. After explaining and demonstrating how I arrived at my door, she simply told me that the report does not demonstrate this and there was nothing else she could do. She continuously said that security was of utmost importance to which I let her know that it certainly did not seem that way. When I initially arrived back at my room around 4 pm, I had a friend with me when I arrived back at my room when the door was open, and we were both sitting there afraid to open the closet and see if someone was hiding in there awaiting my return. That night I stayed awake until 4 am worrying that someone had taken the extra key and would enter my room. Not sure if this screams safe and secure to you, but I certainly did not feel that way. Additionally, I am completely insulted by her insinuation that I would falsify this incident. As previously mentioned, I was on a business trip so monetary wise, I would earn nothing- it would simply go back to my company. Also, as I stated nothing was missing. If I was trying to "take" something from your hotel, why would I not say things were missing? I am simply astonished by the pitiful display of service that was shown by your staff and it's frankly an insult. In addition, your day manager informed my colleague that she would be reaching out to me to fix things and that has not happened - making her the liar she accused me of being. I would suggest some training for your staff so that those in the future that have the unfortunate luck of staying here will not go through the experience that I did. We have let our company know to take this off of our list of preferred hotels in Atlanta as you clearly would not take care of our employees.

Yelp
Friends and I tried the spa here for a birthday celebration. Valet was covered by the spa, which saved $30! We were directed upstairs where the spa is to check in. It's has a very tranquil vibe inside. After we checked in we were taken to the ladies locker room to change into robes and slippers (very cute touch by the way). We were taken one by one into our facials and massages while the rest of us waited in the lounge. One mimosa was provided before our service and one after. We did have access to bottled and strawberry/cucumber infused water, and a variety of teas. They even provided my friend with a slice of cake. My massage was awesome! I opted for a 50 min massage versus the facial/massage combo. And glad I did. The only thing con I can come up with, is for the price we paid I've gotten much longer massages at other places. The pool is under renovation, so we didn't have access to really other amenities other than a dry sauna that was included in the price. The staff was very sweet and even as I was checking out my pricing was incorrect. The young lady wasted no time to correct it! I'll consider going back, but I would probably wait until the pool is done, so we have something else to do other than sitting in a room waiting for everyone.

Their dining restaurant on the first floor takes FOREVER to make food, I am so frustrated. People that got there later than I did got their food before me, and even they were waiting for a long time. On top of that, they made my food wrong so I asked for a different omelette. I'm still here waiting and it's been another 15 min. Overall I waited an hour and a half for my food. Whitley, please address this, you have customers on a timeline and they need to go to work. Be better!

Yelp
My husband and I received the body polish service for our anniversary weekend and it was perfect!! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed. The complimentary robe, slippers, and mimosas was a great plus. My skin therapist Iesha was amazing! I absolutely loved her personally and service. If you come for any body service please book with her! We also stayed for a weekend staycation. The service was absolutely amazing! Everyone was so nice and helpful. Consider staying at this hotel for a wonderful experience!

Yelp
After reading some of the reviews I have to agree. I would not call this hotel "luxury" but if you are looking for a great location a goodnight sleep clean and comfortable room friendly front office awesome in room dining pet friendly property this is it. Yes, the valet parking is outrageously over priced. 75.00 to park an over size vehicle highway robbery! Yes, the alarm clock is super bright. Yes, the gap under the door is way to big and you must put a towel under the door. The toilet itself is so low I felt I was straining my back. Bottom line, we will still go back if in the area. However, we will bring a smaller car.

Yelp
My experience was okay but left me underwhelmed. As background, for short-term stays, Marriott has three levels of hotels you can filter by: "Select," (e.g., Springfield Suites and Courtyard; "Premium," (e.g., Marriott, Westin, Le Meridien); and "Luxury." (e.g., St. Regis, Ritz-Carlton, JW, and this hotel--The Whitley.) When stepping up from "Premium" to "Luxury," I expect a higher level of quality and amenities than in the "Premium" properties, but The Whitney fell short almost across the board. Examples of minor letdowns, which added up to an underwhelming experience overall include: * As a Bonvoy Platinum member, one perk I enjoy at a majority of Marriott properties that have lounges is complimentary access to the lounge, regardless of the room booked. I enjoy this benefit on the weekends as a way to catch a quality snack or grab a cup of Joe and chat with my wife or kids outside of our room. However, this "Luxury" property closes the lounge from Friday morning to sometime Monday--or most of my three-day stay. Now, I have to go to the bar and pay about $5-10 out-the-door for a latte over the weekend and don't have our "go-to" place to regroup. * There were no receptacles reasonably accessible to the nightstands. There were two a/c receptacles on the desk, but many people have devices they like to keep plugged in on their nightstands. The alarm clock did have USB receptacles, but that's insufficient for a laptop or to quickly charge a tablet. * I take quick showers, typically 3-4 minutes with warm (not hot) water. However, the bathroom exhaust fan left the mirror completely fogged every morning. * The lowest brightness of the nightstand alarm clock was so bright, I doubled a facecloth over the screen and still had too much light when sleeping. The hallway door had such a large gap that it, too, illuminated the room at night more than I cared for. (I put a towel at the bottom of the door to cut out the light.) * On Friday morning, I used the hot tub and pool. The pool was fine--great temperature, clean, and not too much chlorine. However, the hot tub had too strong an odor and it wasn't as clear as I'd like. * The dinner offerings in the lounge (for the one night it was open during my stay) were not as appealing as normal for a "Premium" Marriott property," and definitely not as good as other "Luxury" Marriott properties I've experienced. It didn't leave me looking forward to showing up the next evening. * The breakfast buffet wasn't any better than buffets from lower category hotels in the Marriott portfolio. At other "luxury" Marriott brands, I've always looked forward to breakfast. In fact, when I last stayed at the Westin, I drove 30 minutes most days to enjoy breakfast at the Ritz because I appreciated the quality of the breakfast at Marriott's luxury brands over their "premium" brands. Even the Westin's breakfast was much better than at the Whitney, despite being a lower category of hotel. * Housekeeping issues: The HVAC controls didn't work because a connection behind the HVAC panel had been physically disconnected. This nature of the connection didn't appear to be one where the connection came loose, so the controls were probably inoperable when the room was turned over. Also, the lockout door on my side was unlatched and unlocked. Anyone in the next room could have entered my room at almost any time without my knowledge. Shouldn't locking that door be SOP when turning over the room? The parking fee was the highest I've experienced at any property--$55 per day if you want in/out privileges. That's made clear when booking, but it was somewhat off-putting. Here's what I appreciated: * The staff were generally very service-oriented * The water pressure in the shower was much better than most hotels and made showering a pleasure, versus a chore. * The room itself was nicely appointed and clean. * The in-room safe easily accommodated my laptop. In sum, if the property were categorized as a "Premium" hotel, it would have met the mark. However, it left me feeling misled since it was represented as a luxury property but didn't deliver compared to my experiences at other luxury properties in the Marriott portfolio. It wasn't a bad place at all; it just wasn't a "luxury" hotel IMHO, which is how Marriott classified it.

Yelp
I love staying at luxury hotels and I am fortunate to have the opportunity to stay at this one. It is part of the Marriot & HEI collection. They are accommodating. The rooms are a good size. There is a warm swimming pool, spa and balcony on the 2nd floor. This hotel is located in the heart of Buckhead. Enjoy!

Yelp
Generally, a nice hotel. However, the technology is not good. The aerobic machines in the Wi-Fi did not have access to any thing other than local television channels, and the Wi-Fi in the fitness center did not work. When I called the front desk they said they were unable to help. Very frustrating for a nicer hotel in this day and age.

Yelp
Great place to grab lunch or "dunch" as someone called it. Super atmosphere, soft, quiet surroundings, and no loud blaring background music! Solid menu choices. Whitley salad is great and the fish sandwich is really well done too. Service is the best, ask for Antonio! They also comp your parking for you.

Yelp
We had a wonderful experience at The Whitley this past March. I rarely write reviews for hotels, but this place really impressed me - they treat you like a royalty, truly a luxury experience. We're enjoying ourselves so much I didn't get to take pic lol. Beautiful interiors, valet & self parking available, pool (jacuzzi was closed then), sauna rooms, gym, Bonvoy clubhouse with hot food and excellent service. Wherever we were on the hotel property, everyone wAs nice, some even made an effort to remember us, including the doormen. Especially with the pandemic, we noticed hotels were cutting back on all sorts of expenses, so we were so pleasantly surprised when we stayed here for our family vacation and first time in Atlanta! Bonus: if you're a shopper and like malls, its location is perfect; walking distance l to many high end stores as well as Target for your daily needs. Tip: We found out on our last night there that they have little hors d'oeuvres on Friday night in the lobby - what a great way to go into the weekends!

Yelp
Staying at the Whitley for work was an absolutely incredible experience. The front desk staff and housekeepers were amazingly friendly and attentive. The restaurant staff, and Concierge employees are second to none. The level of care they took with every interaction was incredibly loving-trust me, I was there for over a month...the consistency was there. Special shout out to Elena in the concierge lounge....I hope you're all lucky enough to encounter her while you're there!!!

Yelp
Stay was great. Great beds. However - Checking in was interesting, the front desk people that were working were not very cordial - no smiles , acted very disconnected. Same at the bar- they were attentive, but no smiles, and there seem to be a attitude about the staff that they were not there to really serve you. I tried to make pleasant conversation and be very cordial but you could also tell they were not interested in any pleasant conversation for niceties.

Yelp
This is a tough one, but oh well. Back in 1984, this building opened up as a flagship for the Ritz Carlton. It had one of the most famous restaurants in America (The Dining Room) along with one of the best chefs (Guenter Seeger). Even then, when I stayed there, I could only give it a 3 star review. After I saw that it went under a renovation and a re-brand, I wanted to see how things changed, if they did at all. I will admit though, please don't let my 3 stars turn you away- as this place easily has potential for 5, but I had certain experiences that I think giving 3 is fair enough- especially for a Luxury Collection hotel. I had booked my hotel for 6/19-21 (Father's Day weekend) via Delta Vacations (I am a Marriott Platinum member, but I had a voucher to burn). I came to visit my mom, and I didn't want to put her at any risk (of covid) I may have gotten by travelling, so I figured staying at a hotel would be safest. The one thing I like about this place, is they have valet ($44/night, in/out) and self parking (which I will get into cost in a few)- as most of the higher end hotels are valet only. So, I entered, parked, and checked in. The lobby looked a lot different then the last time I was there- they definitely did a nice job sprucing it up. There was also a GSP out front each time I went out front- I trust for security purposes. Check in, was standard- the lady who checked me in was nice. All staff had masks, I also wore mine as well. I don't think it was something that was enforced though. She did mention about parking being 30$ (in/out) a night. I was confused though, because I got a green ticket, I had to put on my dash. On the website (The Whitley has its own website along with the Marriott site), it posts different prices, from 15$-20. When you drive up to lot to get initial ticket, it says $20 for up to 24 hours. So, where the $30 came from, not sure. I got room 909, and went right upstairs (it was a long day). They have hundreds of rooms here, including 56 suites. I just got a basic room this time (I know the Club Lounge, Spa, pool, and dining were closed due to covid), and I will admit, I was very impressed with how different it looked from the last time I visited. They did a solid job- kudos to them. However, I noticed that the minibar had only like 40% of the items- which if in room dining is not offered, I would have thought that would have been stocked to the nines. Also, no bottled water? I wasn't a fan of the toilet water this time around (I know, how snobby of me, but after working 12 hours then flying halfway across the country on a hot day, a bottle of water is much needed). I didn't get much sleep the first night, but not because of the bed- that was actually decent. When I woke up, I took a shower (walk in). It was nice and warm. The soap didn't smell obnoxious and the water was nice and warm. However, when I got out, I could tell the floor was soaked. It somehow managed to leak through. Grrr. When I went downstairs (they do offer to go food for BLD at the bar entrance), I spoke to the gentlemen at the front desk asking about parking. He said that parking is a separate entity from the hotel, and I told him I had my white ticket. So since I had that, I should be OK. So, I went to kiosk, and it was $20. OK, not the $30, weird? Came back Saturday night after being gone all day to unwind and read a book they had while I watched the sunset, how romantic (LOL). I was able to sleep much better, however, around 4am I heard some dude moaning for his life (hope he was ok!) but went back to sleep. I woke up a few hours later to shower again, being more cognizant of the door. It still soaked the floor. So, I went to check out after, and the same guy from morning before checked me out. He said that all I had were 2 self parkings on my tab. I was confused. So, I looked at my folio after I left (via email), and spent another $20 to get out Sunday, I technically paid $50 freaking dollars a night to self park. I am in the process of figuring that out, but I am wondering if that green ticket should have taken over for my white tickets. So, that really aggravated me, especially since it came from the same person. I will admit though, the staff I talked to in the bar Sunday morning (I told them I was just snooping around), they were very friendly. So yes, this place easily has potential to be 4/5 stars. Just don't fall in the same trap I did- and make sure you get your parking straightened out before you go to that damn kiosk next to the side entry!

Yelp
We had an average experience the last time we stayed here but the manager David was wonderful when we emailed with our disappointment. David more than made up for it, when we checked in this trip he upgraded us to an Executive Suite. What a kind gesture. The valet and front desk were very friendly and ready to help get us to our room quickly. This experience was top notch.

Yelp
AMAZING service! From the check-in, to the lounge, to the room and pool. This hotel hit the spot. It was our last hotel stay on our road trip out to Atlanta and it was just so perfect. Everyone was so kind, the hotel was so beautiful and classy and it just felt luxurious to be here. Would definitely recommend and would love to come back for a staycation since we now live here. To the team here, thank you for the wonderful service and hospitality!

Yelp
Ugh. Not horrible but rooms are not as nice as the lobby would lead you to believe. Overall the bed appeared clean but there was dust/markings in the room that made it appear the room was not thoroughly cleaned/maintained. Specifically the rug looked stained and there were stains/dirt on the ceiling. Overall for 2 nights for work hours it was fine but definitely would look into other options for my next trip.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel, just stayed Sat July 23, 2022. A girl's weekend trip. Hot tub was broke so took a few laps in the pool. My friend had some points to use so upgraded to a room on the executive level. The beds were amazing and the room was nice. Good lighting, fridge was broke so they carried in another that they plugged in near the window, on the floor. Not so attractive. After a swim we decided to check out the bar. My friend ordered 2 drinks, a shot of fireball and a shot of rumchatta. The bartender punched in Amaretto and something else. Charged her $35. for each drink. That is crazy. My friend paid it because he had poured the drinks and they were unusual so she felt like she had to accept them. I think that is terrible, seemed like even the bartender should of questioned that

Yelp
Was in Atlanta for work and booked this hotel. The hotel is ok, but they don't really offer basic things other locations offer. No vending machines, you have to pay for parking, no free breakfast. As a matter of fact, I ate one time at the restaurant inside of the establishment and for an omelet and orange juice it was $33. Insane Water to my floor was shut off during one of my nights. The hotel didn't even offer me points. I received a food voucher so I didn't have to pay $33 for more eggs and orange juice. It's walking distance to a lot of shopping though.

Yelp
The Whitley is one of the more upscale hotels we have stayed in. The decor was lovely, and the waiting areas looked elegant. Check-in was a breeze, and the front desk staff we talked to was very accommodating. We stayed on the 7th floor, good view, although the window was behind the couch so you kind of had to squeeze in between the couch and window to appreciate it. The bed was very comfy and clean. Check-out was also pretty fast. Went to the bar at night, had a drink and dessert, service was fantastic and the cheesecake was amazing in both taste and presentation (see pic). Some of the cons were: $18 parking overnight, no tub (but the shower was very nice), vent in our bathroom was not working so everything is fogged up once you get out of the shower (and somehow I'm always concerned about the possibility of mold due to moisture, although I know they clean the bathrooms pretty regularly). The air conditioning was pointing directly at one side of the bed was we could not shift the direction of the air. Overall, we had a good experience.

Yelp
The Whitley is a charming hotel in a terrific location near Lenox in Buckhead. The service we received from everyone, from arrival to departure, was top notch. Everyone there made the effort to go above and beyond, which we greatly appreciated. There were some minor issues with the room, like a janky handle on the toilet and a busted towel hook, but other than those small things, everything was very nice. I have another visit booked for a couple months from now.

Yelp
Stayed here for the Georgia Connect Conference, and had no idea it used to be the Ritz. It looks like an old building from the outside but don't let that fool you. This hotel is in the heart of it all when it comes to Buckhead, so the convenience factor is huge. Oh, if you decide to run the Peachtree Road Race and want the most convenient hotel there is to the starting line, look no further! Pulling in was a bit of a pain but I opted out of valet and went to their onsite parking deck ($18/day). Really cool parking system ... it reads your cars license plate number and prints on ticket. You pay at standing kiosk by the hotel entrance when you leave and then the gate opens right up when you drive up to it. The amenities inside are wonderful and everything is new. They have a large conference space, restaurant and nice bar area. The elevators have chandeliers (well at least one does). I loved my room area, very modern. The daybed by the window was a nice touch and they have a mini bar inside the room (FYI - it'll cost you an arm for that water and a leg for your Jack & Coke, better off hitting the bar). Service was good, and check out time was 12, which is later than most places I've stayed. I'm only bummed I didn't get a chance to see the gym or pool. This is a great spot, worth booking even for a date night!

Jill S.

Yelp
This building used to belong to the Ritz. Because of the reviews here, I was a little bit nervous, but there was no need. It was gorgeous. The only drawback is the valet. There should be a single stand or something. Don't get me wrong, the service was great, but there were just tons of people running around and that led to a chaotic feeling. If there was one person who stayed out and the rest were running around, it would seem more together. It didn't take an extreme amount of time, so it was fine. The service was phenomenal. Front desk was amazing. We ordered room service twice and it was prompt and delicious. The bed was like a cloud. The room was spotless. The air conditioner had a glitch but they fixed it super fast. Breakfast was incredible.

Yelp
Right in the heart of Buckhead. This is a really nice hotel with great customer service. We had one issue which they quickly addressed. Parking is expensive so plan for that. The rooms have a beautiful view have downtown Buckhead and if you're lucky enough to get the other side you see downtown Atlanta. You were right across the street from Lenox mall which is great to plan a trip for shopping. They do offer a shuttle service within a 2 mile radius which helped out so we didn't have to move the car. The rooms are very comfortable with this refrigerator and a hidden mirror in the closet. I would recommend that they replace their linens on the bed I think they could've been nicer. We did purchase the breakfast package for our visit and the service in the restaurant was excellent. The cost of the breakfast if you had to pay outside of the package I think was extremely high but once again the service was excellent. The music in the bar was extremely annoying. The food portions in the bar were extremely small. We did end up ordering room service which was overpriced for what we got. But for the area I guess you would expect nothing less than most of the stuff being expensive. All in all for a staycation in Buckhead we enjoyed it and it was a great location so we were extremely pleased.

Yelp
We were robbed by housekeeping/staff. Stupidly and regretfully, we failed to protect ourselves from the thieves at The Whitley. The hotel admits no culpability and claims this has NEVER happened before. We had cash, a credit card, a watch with personal meaning, and AirPods stolen from our room. The hotel does admit that housekeeping used the key to get in at 2:50 pm (we were attending a wedding) and at 3:10 pm charges began hitting our account from locations at the malls across the street - quite the coincidence!!. I specifically remember seeing the watch as we were rushing to leave and stupidly we forgot to put it in the safe. My handbag with the cash, credit card, and AirPods was not out of my sight that day except when it was in the room unattended. Lesson learned the hard way. We will never stay at this hotel again.

Christina P.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and the experience was wonderful. When we let the staff know that it was our anniversary they had a bottle of wine sent to our room and gave us coupons for complimentary breakfast and a drink at the bar. The extra touches made our stay even more special. Our room was immaculate and very comfortable. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. A special thanks to Tavia at reception for all her kindness!!

Yelp
Pre-COVID, the Whitley was my home for nearly 20 weeks. I was far from home (NYC), working 70-80 hour weeks at a challenging client in ATL, flying in on the Monday morning red eye and leaving before Thursday at midnight. The Whitley quickly became my home away from home. Regardless of environment and external factors, the one thing that makes the Whitley stand out for me over any other place I have stayed is the staff. The staff is/are CONSISTENTLY 5 star - whether you chalk it up to the southern hospitality, the Whitley management, or the Whitley's ability to retain good people (on the customer side). I have never stayed at a place that made me feel more welcome and part of their family, and this has consistently driven for the best home-away-from-home experience I've had at ANY hotel. While it doesn't have a chance to shine as much as it did pre-COVID, the Whitley still holds it own and I hope to visit soon again post-pandemic.

Yelp
A non memorable experience. This hotel is rated as a luxury hotel, however that. was not the case. The service wax subpar and the room was very dated. I was surprised with my status that an upgrade was a higher floor. In fact that was a downgrade. The morning exercise outside from 6-9 with extremely loud music was a horror. When I asked about the noise I was informed that anything outside has nothing to do with the hotel. The best part of the hotel was the valet team.

Andru R.

Yelp
I am part of an Erica. I am in hotels over 200 plus nights a year and the Whitley is one of the nicest places that I've ever stayed. The rooms are fantastic. They're always clean. There's never any mistakes with. They didn't do their job on the house cleaning. The staff is incredibly courteous and helpful. The restaurant, however is very expensive so because it is close to the mall and other places to eat are better off to go out to eat then eat at the restaurant. And if you ask you can get a microwave and a little fridge brought to your room. Overall one of the better places I stay.

Yelp
I stayed at the Whitley for business and admittedly became concerned after reading the reviews. The hotel staff upon checking in were very nice and friendly. The young lady who checked me in went through their policies and procedures regarding food/beverage, housekeeping and parking. Once I made it to my room I was impressed. The room was very clean and so was the bathroom. The view was amazing but at night the sirens and loud cars were inconvenient! Overall the room was comfortable. Check out was fast and easy! I recommend this hotel and I definitely would stay again!

Yelp
I was really pleased with my experience at Whitley. Every staff member from The Whitley were so friendly, professional, and accommodating. We came to surprise our friend for her special birthday and planned a staycation. This is the first time I came here after it switched from Ritz Carlton to The Whitley. Brandon who was at the front desk when I arrived took superb care of me from start to end. A true 5 stars experience. Tsiri was also very helpful during our visit along with the other team members. They were happy to refrigerate things for us that we had for the birthday celebration as well as making sure that things were brought up to our rooms. Our room was decorated really well. It was modern and inviting. The room looked as if it was recently remodeled/updated which is great. It was much needed as this hotel building has been around for awhile for awhile. There was also a big flat screen tv mounted on the wall. The room and bathroom were clean and well organized. The bed I slept on was very comfortable as well along with the pillows. They also used a great brand for their toiletries from what my friend noticed. Water pressure in the shower was on point too. Oh, and the quality of the towels...was perfect. I always say the nicer the hotel the nicer the towels. The lobby was also nicely renovated and decorated. It was much needed to fit the style of the Whitley. The only downside I would say was that overnight parking was a whopping $45. Yikes. Seems pretty high for the area. Had I known I would've parked my car elsewhere. It's also across the street from Lenox Square Mall and Phipps Plaza Mall depending on which side of the hotel you are at. It looks like a quicker and easier walk to Lenox Square Mall. I recommend this hotel for guests and clients you're looking to impress. Good service and friendly staff.

Yelp
I was gifted The Southern Hospitality Signature Collection Spa Experience by Husband for my Birthday. I started out with Breakfast in the hotel restaurant, Delicious . From the time I checked in at 10:50 a.m. until I left at 4:30 p.m. it was thee most Awesome Experience. Nicole the hostess gave me a tour and made sure I felt comfortable after changing into a luxurious robe, by offering me something to snack on or drink, I had a Mimosa. Nidiyah is the truth when it comes to the body scrub and ohhh so relaxing massage (think I snored). From there my facial by Elisa was relaxing and long over due. Finally my Mani/Pedi by Diem just took me over the top. After being cooped up for 2+ years due to the pandemic this entire experience was well needed and overdue. The Professionalism and Care given by each of these Ladies was Impeccable; and the conversations were Soul Soothing. LADIES, AS I TOLD YOU ALL, I WILL BE BACK.

Yelp
If I could give this place a zero I would. Years ago, I would have given it a 5. I stayed here routinely before COVID and the property's switch to Marriott. This hotel rebranded but didn't update. It is run-down and old. The gym, rooms, staff, food, and ambiance were much better when it was the Ritz Carlton. Such a shame. "Luxury Collection" is laughable. I travel often and have traveled the world. Hotels like The W, Grand Hyatt, and even middle tier like the Crown Plaza put this place to shame now. When I arrived, I went to check in and as I took out my ID, the woman checking me in walked away in the back office and came back about 5 minutes later without saying a word. No "I will be right back", "Please excuse me" etc. When she returned, she was pumping sanitizer all over herself and complaining about how people think covid is over, then stated to me, "I am not talking about you." I saw 2 women checking in before me and I didn't see anything abnormal taking place, so I have no idea what was going on. My room was booked through my work travel account and on my work credit card. The woman checking me in insisted I put my personal credit card in the reader "for incidentals". As my work card was on file, I stated that was incorrect and she insisted it was policy so I, regrettably, did so. While staying there, room service brought me a wilted salad because they threw the hot chicken directly on it and it sat there for a while, which, with delivery, cost around $60. Afterward, until about 0130, I was kept awake listening to the heavy doors bang and slam closed up and down the hall. After my sleepless night, at 0630, a wakeup went off that I didn't set, and yes, I made sure the clock stated there was no alarm set. It was even more fun trying to sleep with the bed being hot as heck because they never took off the winter linens, including the padding, so even with the thermostat at 68 the bed heated everything up. that's because we have the correct bedding for the seasons. I got up to find coffee downstairs since the doors had started banging again at 0530. This hotel used to have coffee in your room. Now you must get it in the lobby. They claim it's Starbucks, but I think they need a new machine or to clean that one. It didn't taste like Starbucks at all. Nothing like the Starbucks that I later got across the street. I had breakfast in the hotel and, you guessed it, the word no tomatoes and turkey bacon only, no pork, completely eluded the staff so I spent $35 on a messed-up omelet. I then checked out virtually and proceeded to the paid parking (not valet) that, for less than 24 hours, was $20. After I returned from my trip while doing my personal banking, I noticed a approximate $288 charge from the Whitley on my personal card. The room was booked and paid for on my work card. I called the hotel and a woman answered and put me on hold for about 10 minutes, then a man picked up who seemed as if he didn't know I was holding and I explained the situation to him. He couldn't get my name right, spoke down to me, was condescending, and accepted no responsibility. All he did was state it wasn't double billed, and they had my personal card on file so it was billed and to basically get over it. When I told him I looked forward to reviewing my experience because it was so horrible, he began yelling at me. I told him I would do a credit card claim if I had to and I was calling Bonvoy then he started yelling don't you threaten me I will hang up the darn (didn't say "darn") phone at which point he got me annoyed enough to cuss back at him and I just hang up. In the end, I spent 3 hours of my day off dealing with this. I now have to deal with my bank, my work credit card, and work travel voucher on a Saturday because this hotel decided to not keep quality customer service or front desk staff. Skip the annoyance and the downgrade that this place became. There are plenty of actual Luxury hotels in the area, that are comparable in prices which I am happy to pay and expect to when and only when I get the service and quality that is expected. Try the W, or better yet, don't reward Marriott for how this property and a few of their others are going lately, try the Westin, Grand Hyatt, or InterContinental. If you like the old-style charm, try the Waldorff or Burgess. they are all in the same price point and have loyalty programs, but their quality and, more importantly, customer service are far better. I can speak for all of those in this area.

Yelp
Conveniently located in Buckhead beside Lenox Mall & Phipps Plaza. Great place to stay for a Weekend Getaway as there is so much to do in Buckhead that your Uber ride will never be longer than 10 minutes. Why is that important? Because PARKING: You have the option of valet ($40+) or self-park ($18 overnight). Valet included in & out privileges whereas self-park does not. I chose self-park before finding out there were no in & out privileges - which is WILD in Atlanta because you literally have to drive everywhere here. Public transportation is a joke in Atlanta. In all fairness, they do offer a free public shuttle to take you anywhere within a 2 mile radius (which covers A LOT of places). CUSTOMER SERVICE: Veronica checked me in and she was top-notch! Extremely pleasant check-in process. There is free WiFi included. HOTEL BAR: Seemed to be a big vibe as a lot of people were there on Friday night and seemed to be happy. I had made prior plans for a night out on the town, but I would like to actually return and check out the bar. THE ROOM: 21st Floor, King-size bed, extremely spacious, flat screen tv mounted on the the wall, nice city-view, sofa. The bathroom was big & had some of the softest towels I've ever felt (Marriott luxury collection). Bathroom products Byredo, which I loved! Overall, I had a great stay and I look forward to returning! Highly recommend.

Yelp
My rating would've been higher had it not been for the fact that I could hear as clear as day my neighbors in the room next to us. I had a room with an adjoining door & through said door I could hear a child crying the entire night. My 2nd gripe with Whitely is the fact that there's no complimentary parking so just be prepared to shell out $20 per day for the nearest parking. With those tidbits aside this is a nice hotel. There's Byredo shower products & our particular room had a nice view of downtown. The bar near the lobby had a decent selection of food as well liquor & the prices were actually decent for a "luxury" hotel. I unfortunately didn't indulge in the fitness nor swimming pool but I was told you had to be shuttled to another nearby hotel to go swimming because of construction. I'd stay here again tbh however I would demand to not have an adjoining door.
