Booked a reservation to celebrate a birthday. While the table next to us was sang happy birthday and treated to a dessert we didn't get the same honor which drops the service score. We started with the pierogis and they were delicious however it did take almost 30 minutes to get them and $19 for 3 potatoes dumplings is steep in my opinion. Then we ordered the entrees and I got the philly, it was delicious however the fries pictured online and in others reviews are not what I received. I was given potatoe wedges which were varying thicknesses which I didn't love. Some were very crispy. Some just too much potato. Didn't love them. And finally we got 2 pieces of cake. It was very tasty but $12 each and no recognition for birthday was just disappointing. Overall things moved slowly and it was not busy. We were in on a Tuesday night and it took about 2.5 hours. Id say this restaurant is worth going to because things were tasty but it's not something id put into the regular rotation as it was slow and just didn't make you feel special for a special occasion but came with that special occasion price tag

Experience was a 10- Chicken Poblano soup was a 12….so good. The beet salad is absolutely delicious. Could have eaten 2 or 3 of them. Manager is great and attentive to customers and Eva who waited on us was so kind and just perfect brunch w parents

Everything was sooo delicious. Just love the place, nice decor, service kind,. Food with excellent flavor. The patio is nice and is pet friendly. Sure come back!

A group of eight of us came in for brunch at 10:00 a.m. Reservations were made over the phone the day before, but they said that they had none, but sat us anyway (it was right at opening). Our waitress, Madison, did not seem to want to be there. She provided the minimum customer service, maybe wasn't feeling good or was was in a bad mood or something. She seemed very bothered to have to wait on our table and other tables, no smiles or thank yous. But she was on drink refills and taking plates and all that type of stuff, she did it. Seven of the eight of us received our food and it was cold. Everybody that ordered the eggs benedict, as well as a steak and eggs. Three of us ordered French toast and it was also cold, but we opted to keep it, but it did not taste good though at all, and the bacon is disgusting. Food was remade, no apologies were given for it being cold, she just took plates, and then 15 20 minutes later you'd see her deliver a new one ( which was appreciated that the restaurant made it right and redid the food). Everybody was very polite and respectful with her, and her demeanor was not any different dealing with all those food issues, than it was when we first sat down to take orders. We received our bills exactly 60 minutes after being sat. It was about 15 minutes longer after we paid the bills, before we finally got up and left as we were still finishing our drinks. But as soon as the paid checks and credit cards were set down on the table, the hostess and our waitress would just stand there and stare at us along with a bottle of cleaner wanting us to get up .. there were still a couple tables available in the front side where we were sitting, and nobody waiting to be sat. We were in and out of that restaurant within about an hour and 15 minutes for eight people , and three people had to have their food completely recooked, and two others had to have food added such as bacon . I'd say that's a pretty quick turnaround time, but we felt rushed and it was rude. Due to the terrible food, the cold food, and the unwelcome feeling from our waitress, I don't think any of us will be back. It's a shame though cause it's a super cute place.

The goat cheese appetizer was delicious although it could use a couple more pieces of bread. The tomato soup was tasty but luke warm. The tomato jam on the grilled cheese was fantastic! I would have preferred more cheese and less onions personally as it felt more like a grilled onion sandwich than grilled cheese. The Sunday dinner pasta and shrimp Alfredo were both very good. The hamburger was ok. The burger itself was bland and the tomato jam was found to be overpowering. Our waitress was kind and very apologetic when there was a mistake with the pasta but did not ask if we wanted refills on any drinks. Overall, it was an average experience.

The back bar staff are true mixologists — highly knowledgeable in technique, liquor, and cocktail history. Watching them work and chatting with them was a delight. If I were rating only the bar, I’d give it an 8.8/10. The Dining Room: Unfortunately, the dining service was extremely poor — almost beneath the level of service you’d expect at Skyline Chili. Our server took our order, delivered food, and dropped the check with no engagement. No refills on water (despite asking three times), no follow-up on how the meal was, and no chance to order cocktails at the table because the server never returned. For a restaurant at this price point, service should lead the experience. Food: • Appetizers: The cornbread skillet was overpriced, dry, and served cold in a skillet more for presentation than taste. The pierogi were flavorful and plated nicely, but only three arrived for a table of four, and no guidance was given by the server to order more. • Entrées: The shrimp pasta and mushroom gnocchi were both very good — bright flavors, balanced vegetables, and well-prepared. A grilled lemon on the shrimp pasta would have elevated it, but overall, both dishes were worth ordering again. Atmosphere: Small and intimate, but the lighting was harsh for an 8 pm dinner. The bar area was lively but overly noisy, making conversation difficult. Overall: Great bar, solid entrées, but service ruined the evening. With so many exceptional restaurants in Columbus, we cannot recommend The Whitney House for dinner. Drinks at the bar? Absolutely. Dinner in the dining room? Sadly, no.

Great experience. Food was really good. Fries were crispy. Server Hannah was busy the whole time and very helpful. Will definitely go back.

We went for brunch to celebrate a family birthday. The server was excellent — warm and attentive. We had a variety of dishes in our group - quiche, hash, Caesar salad, and a traditional breakfast. We also had the coffee cake as an appetizer which felt more like a dessert! The tavern and front of the restaurant and atmospheres are very different so there are options depending on your mood.

Amazing ice cream pie dessert! Best ice cream pie I have ever had. Our waiter was Houston. He was very knowledgeable about the menu including the cocktails. Will go back again.

We chose The Whitney House for Sunday brunch while visiting our OSU student. We got to sit in the back room which was nice and quiet! The set up of this restaurant is neat - and has great character to it. The fries we got as an appetizer were the fan favorite, they were so delicious. I got the eggs Benedict and they truly hit the spot- the eggs and hollandaise were perfect. I would definitely recommend this place and would like to come back in the future!

Why in the world did it take me so long to visit? This place is super cute. There is a dining room in the front and a tavern in the back if you are looking for a more casual vibe. They have a nice drink menu and the barrell aged negroni was very delicious. I opted for the grilled cheese and tomato soup since it was perfect for the chilly day and it did not disappoint. So so delicious. Would absolutely come back for the delicious food, drinks and great service.

Was here with friends . Been here before and the food is always good . I had the walleye fish which was very good . I hardly ever order fish unless it's fish and chips but I was glad I ordered it for something different .had the chicken wings for appetizer .

It's been a long time since they removed Ohio toast from the menu. And I came back to try their French toast. I would say it was good, the bread turned to almost custard but I don't understand why it's so dry. I never put any syrup on my toast but I have to pour the whole syrup, the toast was very dry. My husband got the benny and we both really like their brunch potato

The Whitney house was packed for brunch today and they were running 15 mins behind. You need a reservation!! Once we sat down the service was slower probably since it was so packed. We got the cornbread to start which was actually really good. The brunch menu is the only menu for the day until dinner turns around. So don't expect many sandwiches or lunch items. I got the beef short rib hash with eggs on top, it was good. I wish there were more potatoes though.

We came here for brunch on a Sunday. Right as you walk in, the establishment looks clean, nice, and professional. The hostesses all wear dresses, and everyone simply looks very put together. They helped us to our table quickly. Our server was very kind and waited for our whole group to show up, without ever rushing us. Both food and drinks came out fairly quickly. I've heard great things about the french toast, and it was decent, not outstanding but not a bad thing to order. Everything looked well-presented on the plate. Our only real complaint is we were seated right by the A/C, and when it turned on, it was absolutely freezing. At one point, we had to run to the car just to get a coat (and this was mid-September, so it was hot outside). I wasn't even sitting the closest to it, but my food turned cold because of it. On a positive note, we were talking to my brother about his birthday, and even though we never told the waitress directly, she brought out a dessert cake for him. It was very sweet.

First time visiting. The resturaunt is dark and the dining area is very open, with just a few staff members doing most of the serving. Our server was phenomenal. He had the best personality and honestly, made up for the few oversights we experienced. I ordered my burger medium and it very clearly came out cooked through (but was surprisingly still very juicy). The Caesar Salad did not have hardly any shaved Brussels in it; our server did bring a little bowl of more but it was a bit underwhelming. The Goat cheese app was phenomenal as well as the fries.

I really like the Whitney House. Servers, bartenders, etc are all always amazing. Tonight's experience though extends to whoever manages the website. I decided to come to Whitney House tonight because their online menu said their Philly was $17. Well, upon arrival and seeing the menu, it was over $10 more. While this isn't a matter of being able to afford it, it's a matter of it being worth it. Especially when Old Bag of Nails just across the street does have it at under $17 which is where I went after grabbing a drink at the bar. A manager needs to update their website as it is a deciding factor for people and Old Worthington does have many other incredible places for people to go to instead if/when one establishment cannot provide an expected service. Just some conservative feedback that is an easy fix. Especially when in the next 6 months another great (but competitive) establishment is coming to Old Worthington.

Beautiful restaurant in downtown Worthington. The beet salad was the star. A bit overdressed but excellent! I would order again. We also had the short rib pierogi which had a rich demi glaze on top. Good, but would not order again. I want to return and try some other things. The chef came over and spoke to us, which was a nice touch. We had asked if the beet salad was on the menu year round or if seasonal (it's year round! Lucky for all of us!). Definitely a fan.

Whitney House recently hosted my group of a dozen friends for a baby shower. Everything was spectacular. They had us in an area where we could easily speak to one another and enjoy our time together, even as such a large group. The Whitney House has easy parking and is a beautiful space. I enjoyed their steak and eggs on the brunch menu. Everything was perfect and it was very fairly priced. The service was outstanding. Our waitress did an amazing job taking care of us and she did a great job passing out the celebratory cake we brought. I am very grateful for the gracious staff and the lovely experience at the Whitney House.

A hidden gem! Had never heard of this spot but my mom took me to celebrate medical school graduation. Very much a peaceful vibe inside - but very modern and clean. Food was impressively good - the stack burger was like no burger I've ever had before and I have the brie/gruyere cheese + tomato jam tandem to thank for that. Made an otherwise less-classy dish into one of luxury. The star of the show was the brussells sprouts - perfectly crispy with the perfect amount of parmesan and seasoning to make every bite a potent one. Lastly, the server (and manager) took their time to ask about what occasion we were celebrating and (without us asking) provided a free dessert which was just so unnecessarily generous... and delicious! Just an incredibly personal experience which... how could you ask for any more in a restaurant!?

Most foodies have been here at least once over the years. If you haven't been here in awhile, it's time to come back and enjoy new brunch menu. We shared the short rib hash, tavern burger & apple cinnamon cake. We all agreed the cinnamon cake was outstanding and the tavern burger was wayyy above average. Too good! Oh and the Paloma cocktail, made with passion fruit, was a hit out of the park. Even the service was very good. Thank you Sam! Plenty of parking in the back. Outdoor seating on high st. For folks who like people watching, especially during Saturday Farmers Market.

Met a good friend for lunch here and forgot how much I love this place. Upon arrival we check in and were seated in a booth in the back. The Inside of the restaurant has a bit of a classy casual feel and look. Everything is clean and set for dinning upon arrival. There is even some outdoor seating on the patio. The menu is slightly different from the last time I ate here but it's been a few years. The Tavern Stack Burger ($19); double beef patty, Berkshire bacon, brie and gruyere cheeses. Served with a side of tomato jam and tavern fries. Definitely recommend this burger! I ate every bite. My friend had the Wild Salmon "Nicoise" ($24); arugula greens loaded with hard boiled eggs, purple potatoes, grape tomatoes, Kalamata olives, haricot verts and herb vinaigrette. Concluded the meal with some dessert. We split a piece of the Olive Oil Cake ($9). It had an orange-blackberry caramel sauce topped with fresh cream and some blackberries scattered on the plate. I had booked a reservation on OpenTable prior to arrival to make sure we had a spot but it wasn't too busy. Found parking right on High Street but there are some additional parking in the rear and surrounding area. Consistent quality of food and service and absolutely recommend.

We made a last minute reservation and the hostess was very sweet. The interior has a great vibe. Our waiter seemed friendly enough and on his game (we were wrong), he let us try a few wines to see which we preferred while we waited for our appetizer to come out. While we waited he came over to take our orders, I'd heard him list off the specials to another table (which sounded good) and asked if he wouldn't mind telling them to us as well (he wasn't going to until I asked. Weird). Then we waited some more for our Brussels Sprouts appetizer. No appetizer, but our food came out! I asked the manager to check on our appetizer (??). I'm guessing since it came out 10 minutes AFTER our main courses, it hadn't been ordered. They comped it, it was mostly charred leaves, no actual centers of the sprouts. But I guess by that point it was free, so whatever. The Halibut special was okay and the gnocchi served with it was tasty. The seafood pasta looked good, I only tried the pasta part which was like a grown up version of a really nice Mac-and-cheese. My friend liked it a lot. Last, without offering us dessert or coffee, the waiter says "separate checks ladies?" Ahhh, now I get it dude. You thought we were just two cheapie ladies who were going to skimp on your tip. Got it! It was the end of a long day of work, for all of us. I was looking to just eat and chillax. Maybe our buddy the waiter was too.

YOU GUYS, if you're gluten free, you need to go eat their waffle! It literally reminded me of an elephant ear from a fair. It's been a year since I've had a waffle and theirs are so crisp and delicious. I cannot wait to go back! Pricey, small menu, but that waffle will bring me back

Food was delicious, it's affordable, service was outstanding. It's quiet, but does have music on low, it was a nice family night. I'll dream about the potatoes for a few nights..

The Whitney House is my favorite restaurant in Worthington. The service is always great and staff friendly. The brunch is epic and you can't go wrong with any of their options. It always clean and the devote is elegant yet relaxed.

Came back after a while -- no difference is service. Excellent as always. It was a lovely summer afternoon and we sat outside for breakfast. Whitney house has one of the best eggs Benedict in town. On our latest visit, my wife and I shared the eggs Benedict -- the hollandaise sauce was outstanding, and the eggs were cooked to perfection. The potatoes on the side were cooked with sausages and were delicious as well. Looking forward to more visits!

Fabulous. Food great. Wonderful service. Nice atmosphere. Would definitely return. I wish they were open for lunch at least couple times a week.

The Whitney House has two seating areas: a main dining area that is a bit nicer, and a tavern seating area in the back with more pub-style vibes. We had a reservation and when we arrived they offered us either location. The menu mainly consists of glorified pub food, with a couple entrees for those seeking fancy palates (seafood pasta, pan seared walleye), as well as those opting for the lighter side (handful of soups and salads). We started with a shared french onion soup. It is presented in a cast iron bowl and boy was it hot. We burned our mouths on the first bite, then waited 5-10 minutes and it was still piping hot. We were finally able to indulge once the dinner food arrived but even then we had to cool down each bite. That said, it had a great flavor and I would definitely get this to go in a take-out bowl to mitigate the scalding temperature that lingered in the cast iron. I tried the short rib sliders with house chips, my SO got the blackened chicken sandwich. We were both underwhelmed with our entrees, but for no specific reason. We also thought the food was overpriced for what it was, and felt that as a whole The Whitney House is still trying to find its' identity.

It's a well known breakfast spot in town. My friend chose this place to check out so we came on a Saturday at 10. The farmers market was going on, but it wasn't busy inside the restaurant. We had made a reservation just in case. I'm not sure if they have their own parking lot, but I knew the farmers market was going on and had looked online for parking options. I found parallel parking down one of the streets behind the building pretty easily. We both got mimosas, and my friend also added on a coffee. It came in a French press. Nifty! She got a breakfast sandwich while I got the short rib hash. My hash was loaded with meat and a good amount of brussel sprouts. And her sandwich was a sizeable amount as well. We were both pretty stuffed. The prices are definitely elevated and it's not a place I'd come to often, but the food was pretty good! And staff was really friendly too.

I was at The Whitney House yesterday for lunch with two friends. I think we got the best seat in the house sitting at the front window. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. My one friend had a fish sandwich with chips and it looked good. My other fiend and I had the blackened chicken salad and it was awesome! I want to go back and order it again soon. The ambiance was great with very friendly staff. There was a tavern in the back which I plan on checking out next time.

Over all our experience was pleasant. The 7:00 hour is crush! Reservations are 100% must. Space is lacking in general as in there is not a lot in either the dining room or bar so if cozy is not your thing lunch or brunch. The goat cheese from the Instagram post was no lie! I for an order to go for the next day.

Food was excellent. Track Lighting above the tables along the walls should be replaced with hanging pendants. This adds warmth and perceived intimacy. Loved our server, Maggie. My daughter-in-law was allowed to bring my favorite carrot cake to the restaurant. Maggie offered extra plates and spoons to accommodate my guests. It was an unbelievable kind gesture considering our reservation was Valentine weekend and "table turnover" is critical for adding more patrons to her service area. Thus, more tips. I had visited this location years ago. I was perplexed at the limited space until upon leaving I notice additional seating in the rear of the building. My condo association, The Village of Forest Ridge, has a group of 14 - 18 people that dine out once a month. I will definitely recommend The Whitney House.

We've been coming to The Whitney House since the year it opened and have seen its highs and lows. Right now, it's honestly meh. I made a reservation for the main restaurant at 7:45 because I didn't want to sit at a high top table in the bar area - I don't like high top tables and I didn't want to sit in the louder/busier bar area. We arrived at 7:43 and weren't sat until 8 and when we were, it was in it high top section. Not pleased. The cocktail menu has improved, the Paloma was refreshing and delicious, but the fun of the recurring daily special menu is gone. We went on a Saturday and our waiter didn't tell us that day's entree special until after we ordered and ate our appetizers. What business does a "tavern" have with a pseudo-orange chicken rice bowl anyway? The apps themselves were good - the whipped goats cheese with honey was really tasty and the bread it was served with was nicely fried/toasted. The pierogi did not taste of truffle in the slightest. My partner got the steak, which was fine, and I ordered the tavern stack burger without bacon. The burger was tasty but very rich and fatty - the tomato jam did little to cut the richness. I can't imagine what it would have been with bacon on there too - super fatty and super salty. The fries (and the fry sauce?) are different than they used to be - not for the best. I got the pickled vegetables as well because that was on their menu when we first started visiting. When they arrived I was so excited - a heaping portion of the pickled vegetables I had been dreaming of. I was immediately disappointed by how salty they were. I have a fairly salty palate but I found the pickles inedible. Service was midtier, food was midtier, experience was disappointing. We've decided not to return.

Great food. Went with a large group of 10. Tried almost all the appetizers, everyone was good. Favorites included the cornbread, pot stickers and brussels sprouts. Had the burger, it was absolutely delicious. Great flavor, cooked perfectly. Service was also excellent, especially with our big group. Drinks were always filled, he was very knowledgeable and checked in on us with each round of food. Can't wait to go back!

I met a friend today at The Whitney House for lunch. I've heard positive things about the restaurant for years but I left this meal feeling very ambivalent about the food. I won't be back anytime soon. The good: -The restaurant is cute. Their tables out front would be perfect when it's a little less hot outside -Multiple seating areas The not-so-good: -I had the cinnamon roll and fresh fruit medley (separate items). The cinnamon roll was lukewarm and the sauce was... Meh -The fresh fruit medley was a teeny tiny portion for $4. It was fresh, though -Inattentive and slow service -Pipes that run across the ceiling of the restaurant had condensation that consistently dropped on the table, including on my plate

Service was decent, fondue appetizer came out cold! Burger and fried chicken were mediocre at best. Beer list is good. The braised pork starter is excellent. I should have gone with the trout or the quail.

Service wasn't great at all. It felt like everyone else was being taken care of though. I guess you need to be a local.

Service was not good. Very inattentive. Food took over an hour and wasn't great. Skip it.

We used to love the Whitney House but ever since its remodel it feels as if it's going through an identity crisis. The food is not what it used to be, the "tavern fries" are thin and soggy, they look like McDonald's fries but would prefer the McDonald's version. We used to really enjoy their upscale american fare but now the food does not match their beautiful decor, it's not horrible but definitely misses the mark.

Great service from the start. Get the choice of a adult or kid menu! Yummy food with good drinks and refills!! Very kind service the waiters were patient and checked in. They will try to socialize and get to know you a bit. I sat outside on a table it was quiet and not busy very good place to sit and eat.

Lovely visit in on a Sunday evening. It was decent out so we got to sit outside, the inside was quite busy. We started with the truffle and short rib pierogis. Sooo sooo good. We could have probably done another order. I decided to go with the blackened chicken sandwich. It was very good, loved the bread it came on. My bf got the Sunday supper which was basically rigatoni with a bolognese sauce. He enjoyed it. Overall I'd probably be back but maybe for happy hour to try more of their starters.

We went out for a holiday dinner with my parents a few days ago and overall had a lovely time. The Whitney House is charming and well suited for the holidays with its rustic chic decor and kind staff. Walking around High St. around this time as we were approaching the restaurant is an experience in itself full of holiday cheer and people bustling about. The food was all fantastic minus my caesar brussels salad which tasted very dry. For appetizers we split the truffle and fontina cheese pierogies (with braised short rib), dressed-up tavern fries, and skillet corn bread. The pierogies took the spotlight in my opinion: the subtle truffle flavor and pickled onion garnish really sold these for me and were full of flavor. I had a barrel aged manhattan which wasn't bad by any means. They used Watershed bourbon which complemented the vermouth, and the cherry bitters were a nice departure from what I've had in the past. As I said earlier though, sadly the salad missed the mark. I think all it was really missing was dressing as when I had mine I couldn't really taste any. A few others who ordered salads had similar complaints. I ordered a side of fries though and they come with a mayo based zesty sauce of some sort that tasted phenomenal. I also tried a bite of the Ohio City Gnocci that was great - and I'm not even a big mushroom fan! In the past I've had their signature burger and grilled cheese with tomato jam, both fantastic, so I think the lesson learned here is to avoid the salads.

Nice and inviting environment, brunch and dinner options available. Slower service was received. The salad I ordered was tasteful and the fries are very different with the sauces they use. Not my type of taste for food.

The food and service were great! Love the way the restaurant is decorated! Definitely recommend the whipped goat cheese! A must try!

I came to The Whitney House for Mother's Day Brunch, and it really made my day. Madison was our server, and she was great. Very attentive with great service! The food was hot and delicious. I would come back just to see Madison again.

A solid choice for American cuisine. They have some "fancy" specials on occasion. We've been here for brunch in the past and that was good, though it's pretty hard to mess up breakfast fare. Here to celebrate a couple birthdays and we had a good size party. It was easy to make a reservation and we were seated right on time. It's a nice restaurant in the corner of a building, it gives the impression that it's been there for awhile but the tables and seating looked new. The staff was friendly and service was just the right pace. At one point the manager came out to check on each table. We got some of their popular dishes like the hangar steak, Ohio burger, short rib slides, walleye, and a pasta dish. They were all very good. They had some nice cocktails and a small but decent selection of craft brews. A good choice if you're wanting some good old American cuisine.

Excellent food and service. Very loud however so conversation was difficult. If that's not an issue for you - GO GO GO!

Always a great meal at the Whitney House! We went for Easter Brunch today. They had the best French Toast I've ever had and they made me Eggs Benedict on top of mini GF waffles

There is no question that Whitney House has lovely atmosphere for brunch with a friend. Quiet enough for conversation but lively enough for atmosphere, the food was beautifully presented and superbly tasty! We started with nachos and smashed avocado guacamole. The guacamole had onion and cilantro and the right amount of seasoning. My friend had the vegetarian quiche, with bacon on top of it. The quiche came with a green salad. I had the steak and eggs. The steak was cooked medium rare and created the perfect bite with a bit of egg and potato. We were mostly full but made the mistake of looking at the dessert menu. I ordered the blueberry and peach cobbler, she ordered the croissant bread pudding. The cobbler had cardamom crumble that was inspired. The bread pudding was equally delicious but completely different. All in all this meal was one of the best brunches I've had.

I had an early dinner with my mom at The Whitney House on Friday evening. We loved the food and drinks last year, and were excited to go back to have our favorites. Sadly they changed their menu in January and no longer had our favorites; the big one for me was the Jeannie in a Glass. When I asked if they still could make it for me, they said they couldn't. They were polite about it, and offered some alternatives I might like, I was still pretty disappointed. The drink I did get was quite yummy, but it was no Jeannie in a Glass. I had trouble deciding what I wanted to eat as nothing was really jumping out at me. I ended up ordering the beet goat cheese salad with chicken, and it was delicious. Overall, the service and food was very good, but my obsession and drive to return is gone.

I've been for brunch which was excellent, we went for an early dinner this time and were put off by the bad smell that I couldn't get used to. I think it's an ineffective drain filled with old restaurant grease and water. It's a clean place for sure but the smell is NOT giving the clean vibe. We didn't end up staying but hope to come back when they fix the smell.

I was with a party of 10 at lunch, each wanting separate checks, so service was a tad slow but not bad at all. We waited over half an hour to get our food but again, we were a large party and the dining room was packed. We all got our correct food orders, though a few of us got the wrong bill which was quickly remedied. Everybody was pleased with their food. I loved my sandwich: grilled walleye with remoulade and cabbage. I'm not a potato chip fan but I ate one and it was indeed homemade and tasty.

The Whitney House appetizers were spectacular. From crisp mounds of Brussels sprouts to goat cheese and honey, with prosciutto and short rib pirogies in the mix as well. We also sampled the smoked salmon dip. The happy hour pricing was a big player, as was traffic ramping up the group's appetite. Our waiter was quite responsive and seemed to be quite invested in the restaurant and it's mission of sourcing local quality ingredients. They made certain to offer additional dippers if needed at no additional charge. While the seating is a bit tight, the historic feel of the building added to the charm of downtown Worthington. It was very helpful to have a reservation as it is a small space.

We visited the Whitney house on a Friday for lunch. The inside was great! We would've sat on the patio but it was a little too hot. I highly recommend the Italian sub, it was delicious. The perfect amount of meat and dressing on the sandwich. The fries were also delicious and came with an awesome dipping sauce. What a great restaurant in downtown Worthington! I highly recommend visiting if you are looking for a place to grab lunch. I can't wait to try their brunch!

We love the Whitney house. We've always received a warm welcome when we arrive and engaged in a nice conversation. We personally love the bar side of the restaurant, it's very upscale and welcoming. The menu is limited but has a good variety of offerings. The food and service is always very good.
