The Whole Enchilada Fresh Mexican Grill

I had a wonderful experience at The Whole Enchilada restaurant. The place was super clean, which I really appreciated, and there was plenty of parking available. I have to give a special shoutout to Nikki, an amazing staff member who made my first visit extra special by taking the time to explain the menu to me. The atmosphere here feels so homey and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a healthy dinner or snack, but who also wants traditional Mexican food, last, but not least this restaurant menu It’s very affordable —this is the place to go!

Pretty nice spot, has outdoor seating. We opted for eating inside. I ordered the steak tacos which comes with the tortilla chips, there is a station to add to your tacos along with sauces, there are also different options for hot sauces as well. The tacos were merely okay.. they do not skimp on the steak which is a plus. I didn't care for the tortilla chips.

Fast service, food is fresh, consistent and comes out hot. Friendly staff. Parking can be a struggle during lunch so get there early, especially on Taco Tuesday. Always a lunch special available, priced well. Plenty of seating. Crowded at lunchtime.

I have been coming to this location for now 15 years, give or take. It has always been a great experience. And today, it became even better. I was pleasantly surprised as Paola finished taking my order and she said: “For Boris, right?”. What an amazing feeling when you come to a place that makes you feel like home. The best part of the experience is that I hadn’t been here for a while, so it shows how much she cares about her customers and the culture that this location encourages. Thank you Paola and everyone should visit this Whole Enchilada at least once.

Pretty neat spot with tons of options, nachos tacos burritos etc. family friendly with a cool inverted outdoor seating as well as indoor. Music is a bit loud but nothing crazy. And they have a salsa bar with plenty of options. I got the taco-dillas which were full of toppings and flavor.

I’m not sure I’ll be back. Unfortunately, the food was quite subpar and didn’t meet my expectations. However, the service was excellent. The gentleman working the front of house was fantastic—constantly on the move and making sure every customer, inside and outside the shop, was well taken care of. His attentiveness definitely stood out. Service 5/5 but the food brings quality brings overall score down.

My family stopped by to grad a take away order. I had the steak taco salad , my child had gringo tacos and her grandmother had a ground beef burrito (I don't have a review for the latter). My taco was as expected. Pretty basic, nothing out of the ordinary. I was, however, disappointed with how the was steak cut. Tiny bits of medium-well done steak that are individually too small to really convey any particular flavor, and certainly not an experience of note. With a name like The Whole Enchilada, I expected flavor and passion in my mouth. Also, visually, meat scraps isn't where it's at. My daughter had gringo tacos (I don't remember the menu description, but 3 basic tacos). No complaints. Also, they keep Capri Sun in stock. As a parent, I felt seen. The sauce bar, a dying site, was tidy and packed with interesting flavors. This trip, I was sticking with my comfort flavors, so I went with red hot sauce, pico and the green hot sauce. ALSO, shot out for including the sauce profile descriptions. I learned something that visit! I noticed beer, some specialty beer and maybe wine is sold. No liquor. The ambiance was terrific! This was Friday, early evening and nearly every seat was taken, families and friends were out laughing and taking in the vibe. There's a sundeck-like setup on the street side for people watching. Very lively, fun, open and friendly environment for friends, family, after work beer and tacos, a quickie girls night. Whatevs! The restroom is under lock and key, entry from the outside, unisex access. Generally, in decent enough shape. The staff was very friendly. My order was correct and completed in a reasonable amount of time.

We went with the tacos! We tried the Philly steak, mahi, skrimp, & beef tacos. The mahi had absolutely NO seasoning, completely bland. The skrimp was over cooked a little and also bland, the Philly was my favorite although that lacked flavor. The beef was completely disgusting and gave a weird aftertaste. Overall I was disappointed in every one of the tacos we tried and probably won’t return since that was our first experience.

I'm a taco loving girl always trying to find the best tasting in town. This was my first visit at the Whole Enchilada which was instantly a great experience. The cashier was very helpful deciding on which taco to eat. The self serve sauce cart was a nice touch and the mango sauce was my favorite. Poured a lot of it onto my sweet and spicy pork taco. I loved the refreshing taste of the mango with the tender pork.

TACO PARADISE... First time at this Fort Lauderdale eatery since the Plantation location shut down and wanted to eat their sacred tacos. Staff: Super friendly cashier/server named Paola. Ambiance: Light Southwestern decor with an outside patio. FOOD: Hasselhoff Tacos (2) beef and sweet & spicy pork. Taste: Wonderful and filling. Generous portion of tender meat with vibrantly crispy tomato, lettuce, cheese toppings. Sauces: Roasted Tomato, Smooth Pico, Mango and fresh Jalapeno Peppers. Bathroom: Gender neutral, clean, located outside with a required digital entry code. Great experience and will return for their All Day Taco Tuesday includes (2) tacos, chips & salsa with a margarita for only $10.99.

Have been passing by this place for the last 6 months and finally had time to try . We ordered the bowl and fajita burrito . Very clean and tasty food , portions are ginormous !!!!

Whole enchilada was a solid location for a great lunch. Really nothing bad to say about it. Food was fresh, service was fast, decor is cool with its indoor and outside seating. Prices are great, large portions are a plus.

Yum! Great spot to pick up some good food quickly. Service was fast. The chili lime salad with chicken was good. They have an array of sauces to choose from. Had a great first experience here. Will be back to try other dishes.

This is my first time trying the new brunch menu from The Whole Enchilada. There is exterior and interior seating and it's pretty spacious inside. The brunch menu is now being served on Saturday and Sunday between the hours of 11 AM to 3 PM. I love Chilaquiles so I really wanted to try their TWE Chilaquiles and my husband ordered the power protein burrito and added chicken as his protein. We also wanted to share the pork tostada to give that a try. My Chilaquiles were flavorful and the tortilla chips had a good seasoning to it. The pork tostada was very good and it came with a lot of pork. The tortilla base was crunchy and provided a good base for the toppings. My husband also mentioned that he enjoyed his protein burrito and it kept him full all day. What a wonderful brunch addition to the already existing menu.

We came with a bachelorette group for lunch and the food was great, service was great and they brought out our food pretty fast. Very impressed. The staff was super kind and efficient! I had the taco-dilla tacos and the shrimp tacos and both were very good. Also they have a coca cola freestyle machine which is always great!

Nothing to rave about. But they have live music on Taco Tuesdays which is nice. Love their mango salsa and most go for that. The tortilla chips aren't always consistent in their freshness. Service is prompt. A small parking lot on either side of the restaurant.

It is my second time going to this place. And I need to say that the first time was much better. The ingredientes were fresher and the presentation too. This time it wasn't bad but it was not fresh especially because I order fish.

I've been coming to The Whole Enchilada for almost a decade now and it never disappoints! This is the perfect place for a burrito, taco, bowl or enchilada! I love the Tree Hugger Burrito and their chips & mango salsa is so good! The team is always friendly and the service is fast. I will be back soon!

The place had a good dj. Nice outdoor area. Drinks were limited but got canned margs . Food was ok.. probably would not get the tacos I got again but maybe go back and try the enchiladas . Counter service pretty quick. Hot sauce bar but nothing really spicy :/ good for a quick bite (like a Taco Bell)

The Whole Enchilada is my go to for Taco Tuesday or anytime I want Mexican. The burrito enchilada style and the Mother Crunch Wrap are my favorites! I moved recently and still drive out of my way to eat here, always worth it.

TACO TUESDAY SPOT!! This place has a great deal for taco Tuesday (2 tacos, chips, salsa, and a margarita for 10.99). They have so many choices of salsas and the food came out pretty quick. Everything was clean and the staff was friendly.

This spot is great for a quick and casual sit down. They have a decent sized menu as well as daily specials. I particularly like this spot because of the variety of salsa you can choose from that are placed buffet-style in the back (plus there are hand sanitizer stations to use after)! The food was tasty and servings included decently sized portions and I will definitely be back!

I highly recommend the bae-watch tacos! It's 2 tacos per plate--the tacos are a really good size, and they're stuffed with ingredients, so it's worth it. And it comes with chips! Love the setup of this place and the amount of outdoor seating. I'm excited to try more things on the menu! My friend ordered the tostada, and it looked so good! I'm definitely trying that next time.

I was craving Taco salad and this hit the spot. I had the salad with tofu and the tofu was YUM!!!!!...this is my first taco salad with tofu ever....it was done right. Definitely going back to try other items on the menu. I placed the order online and literally arrived 15 minutes later to pick it up and it was ready as promised...no unnecessary further waiting....AWESOME! Staff is nice and welcoming. The place was clean. It is open and airy with lots of outdoor sitting at this location which I love. Definitely going back.

Decided to give this place a try while out for lunch. I was totally disappointed with the food taste. I ordered the meatless burrito without a tortilla. The beans were bland, rice was hard with little flavor, veggies were bland, chips were okay. The food including the salsa lacked any type of flavor or seasoning. Service was decent. My cashier was nice but took a while to get food served. The restaurant was pretty clean. Music was great! Bathroom is located outside. Prices were okay! I paid $9 for a meatless burrito...

We came here for lunch and the prices are a bit high, but the lunch special is reasonable. It changes so you'll have to come by to see what it is. Although I suppose you could call them and ask. I don't know how they would feel about all those phone calls, but there's only one way to find out. Parking can be an issue because the lot is very small. You can usually find street parking but make sure you use the payment app so you don't get a ticket. That would really spoil your meal. The food is a Tex-Mex sort of fare. They serve it quickly, even during lunch when they're busy. It was tasty and plenty of food, at least for me. I have friends who eat quite a bit more than I do so they might feel otherwise. They have outdoor seating, which would have been better had the umbrella not been broken. Fortunately, summer hasn't arrived yet and hopefully they'll fix it before then.

I'm a Tex-Mex freak, and this was delicious. Not only was the food great, but I loved the ambiance. The restaurant is in a former gas station, which still has the "garage" doors, which they had opened for an indoor/outdoor vibe, with picnic tables out front. The place is super casual, requiring you to order and pick up your food at the counter, but it's priced accordingly. There's a self-serve salsa bar, with a variety of flavors, along with onions, cilantro and jalapeños, I believe. The three sauces I tried were very tasty. I ordered the special of the day, which was a bowl, and my husband had steak tacos. Both were great. They offered a variety of bottled beer, hard cider and a few other adult beverages plus self-serve iced tea and a Freestyle machine with all types of Coke products. Great value, food and service, and right across from The Parker Playhouse and War Memorial Stadium, so perfect stop before a show. Definitely recommend!

We used to come here all the time when my husband lived down here, so part of his bday surprise yesterday was to take him here. I was very happy to see they were still open. (We don't go down to Fort Laud very often). I didn't think to take more pics to review. He got the beef bowl in the shell - can't think of the name - and it was so good. I got my usual fish tacos, with cilantro sauce. Again, so good. The menu has cute / funny names on it. It's a place your order and they bring it to you sort of place, which is fine by me. They're a little toppings bar, too. I always get the spicy mango sauce, chopped cilantro, and lime from it. They also have soft drinks and freshly brewed (unsweet) tea. Service was good and very fast. I love this place and would go more if I lived closer.

Very delicious! Granted this is a fast fresh restaurant and not gourmet dining but for what it is I enjoyed it. Food seems fresh and I like that they give you chips free with the meal and there is a salsa bar running from hot to mild sauces. You can also order beer with your meal. Amazing food at a very reasonable price. You get a lot of food and it's amazingly delicious. The food is prepared well and looks the part too! Great place for lunch or a date as there is a small outside dining area.

We had tickets for a show at the Parker across the street so we decided to give this place a try. The Whole Enchilada is a good fast food Tex-Mex joint that's in an old gas station. They give you chips with every meal and they have a decent salsa bar. The salsa ranged from mild to hot and were pretty tasty. I ordered their pork fajita, it came with soft flour tortillas, rice and black beans and guacamole. It's an ample portion with plenty of shredded pork. My wife had a fajita quesadilla, she said it was also good. You place your order at the counter and they bring it to your table when its ready. Like I said it looks like a repurposed gas station, nothing fancy but it serves it's purpose. There's about 6 tables inside and a few outside where the gas pumps would have been. The restroom is outside (like most gas stations) and you'll need to get the code to enter. I'm glad we tried this place as we now have a place to eat when we go to the Parker for a show.

5 stars for a no frill, no fuss, quick, easy good food spot. Great on a nice day to sit outside at picnic tables.

Another lunch with the work crew. Ended up over here due to other restaurants being shut down. Thought the food was pretty good.

First time trying this location. Went on a Tuesday for the taco special, two tacos, chips, and Mexican beer for 7.99. Chill vibe. They had a DJ on Tuesday, playing a good mix. I was a little disappointed when I went to order my shrimp tacos and were told they were not apart of the taco Tuesday deal. I still got them and just paid full price. The food overall was good and good price. While I enjoyed the food it is not Mexican. Think more American Mexican. They have a salsa bar which is nice. Variety of salsa and toppings. Would comeback to try other items on the menu.

This was a good, simple, Mexican restaurant. The flavors from the beef enchilada and chicken burrito were good, but nothing exciting. The best flavors were actually from the salsa bar. Add any of those to your food and you'll take your meal to the next level! We tried 3 of the 5 available salsas, and they were all incrediblly flavorful (not spicy)! Prices felt less expensive than other restaurants, and portions slightly smaller. I like their reasonable portion sizes. I'd split a second entree if I were to come back with a big appetite! Looking forward to trying the shrimp burrito or quesadilla next time! Small restaurant with plenty of indoor and outdoor (covered) seating. Order at the counter and they'll bring your food to you. Parking lot was small, I'd guess less than 10 spots total.

You do have to go up and order but food is super quick. The Shrimp & Fish tacos are delicious. My favorite is definitely the shrimp tacos though. Also it doesn't hurt to add some Queso on the side. Love the Jarritos options also. My favorite soda ever. Only thing our group struggled with was parking. Definitely not enough spaces or options. A bunch of us had to valet at the hotel next door.

The red burrito and the mahi tacos did not have any seasoning. Yeah we tried adding all the hot sauces and it didn't really help only. The tortilla chips were stale. The sauces at the sauce bar were also bland except for their homemade Habanero sauce. Go to zona fresca instead.

Last night we found this lovely tiny spot. Taco Tuesday was such a great day to find them. This restaurant is proud to be family owned. They offered outside seating but parking can be limited. We ordered the taco Tuesday promotion and the Black Tiger Burrito. The taco Tuesday promo came with 2 (two) tacos, chips and salsa and a beverage of choice. We got a Mexican beer (Pacifico), I ordered the black tiger burrito that also came with chips and salsa. The Black Tiger Burrito was served on a tasty soft tortilla filled up with shrimp, Mexican rice, beans, pico de Gallo and avocado. It was very savory and I was able to enjoy the fresh ingredients, the shrimp was phenomenal. I just wish it was a little spicier but they do provided a huge selection of salsas!! It was great to visit a local business and learn that everything is prepared in their kitchen and that all seafood is wild caught.

I don't understand the mediocre reviews. Craving enchiladas, I stopped by here for a Sunday evening dinner and was pretty impressed by the enchilada platter. The rice, beans, chips, salsas, and the enchiladas themselves were all very tasty and seemed freshly made. Also, it was a lot of food, especially considering the sub-$10 price tag (itself a rarity in 2023!). On top of that, service was friendly and the restaurant itself was clean. I'll definitely return.

The food is average but for taco Tuesday they definitely have a good deal. 2 tacos, chips & salsa snd a Mexican beer or beverage for 7.99. It's a pretty good deal for what you're getting. They have indoor and outdoor seating. You are sitting outside on a busy federal highway. Parking is a little tight and can get a little crowded especially on a Tuesday. They have a variety of salsa as well lined up in a bar. They range from sweet to hot and you can take as many as you'd like.

Not your ordinary "taco joint". The menu was surprisingly broad and many of the "mash up" dishes were terrific. The cheeseburger chimichanga was outstanding. It was stuffed with ground beef, sautéed onions and peppers and a bit of rice, then wrapped in the chimichanga. The whole thing was then covered in a nice cheese sauce. The fajita quesadilla was also quite good. Simply put, it was a whole serving of fajitas melted inside a quesadilla. All mains are accompanied with a good sized portion of tortilla chips. There is a self service salsa bar for the chips and there are plenty of choices, from traditional salsa to a roasted tomato one, a mango salsa, corn salsa, and others. Beyond the usual soft drink options, they offer Mexican sodas - great flavors and sweetened with (real) sugar, not corn/fructose syrups. While I'm not a fan, they even had a DJ spinning tunes out in the parking lot. All in all, a good time.

Everything could be better if it actually had seasoning !! There was not a dash of any type of flavor even in the street corn. Service was quick and smooth. There is like a gas station type bathroom outside on the side make sure you get the code. Small dining area inside and bigger area outside. Food was decent but could have been a lot better with actual seasoning !!!!

Visited today with my friends, but I didn't eat anything but the chips. My friend ate 100% of his burrito, he loved it. Our service was good, but this restaurant does not have waiters or waitresses. We sat out on the patio and enjoyed ourselves.

Food is average, but fine. The part that is the worst are the people at the counter-- they're kind of indifferent to the customers. They just talk among themselves and have little common courtesy. It's like they have one job- to be polite and take people's orders-- and they seem to resent the work.

California peeps. Eat here. Best enchiladas i have found here in florida. Had 1 cheese 1 ground beef enchilada they were cheesy and perfect. Also has a salsa bar with mango salsa along with others. I try to avoid ft laud at all costs but when i have to go there i get lunch here.

Now this is a cool place!!! Super casual and laid back. Good vibes all around. Food came out fairly fast and it was packed. All the wait staff were extremely friendly. I got the taco salad "tostada" and I crave it now will be back! Sad this was only my first time here in 2 years since moving here!!!

Love coming here for a Quick bite. Food is always hot and fresh and it's a nice change of scenery from the standard moes and chipotle. Outdoor seating available and dog friendly. The only negative is it has a tiny parking lot and it's always a fight for parking

Food was, "OK" ... took most of it to go . But wasn't in a rush to get to it when I got home or the next day . I ordered steak quesadillas, chips with queso, some Mexican corn, and a Jarritos Tamarind soda. The space itself is cute and has a lot of potential, but unfortunately this was a lack luster try for me . There are some places that bring about a lot of authenticity and I am confident that what brings about a great dining experience; but that's not going to be found here, Sorry.

I always enjoy wasting here because it always has a relaxing atmosphere. The music inside is low enough that you don't have to shoot and the music outside it just loud enough that you don't have to worry about screaming. The food is consistently high quality and is sourced in sustainable ways or from trusted sources. There's anyways a went out daily special that isn't from the menu, which keeps things different and new. I love that it's family-owned and still operates as a small business with only four locations. This is definitely a great place to go to for reliably great food.

They just gave me a queso that was damage and I am so sick, I did feel that it was a little weird. Going to sue the shit out of them. That these nasty mother fuckers.

This place I have been driving by for years and I have never stopped by. Now in the age of Covid and endless take out I was in the mood for something new especially on the special weekly holiday Taco Tuesday! So first visit was on a Tuesday big mistake line went on forever to order. Better yet when it is your turn the girl at the register takes the phone orders before assisting a live person standing in front of her. Finally when she does assist me I order "The Bob" for hubby which is Mexican rice, black or pinto beans,jack and cheddar cheese,pico de gallo, guacamole, lettuce, sour cream choice of protein hubby got steak which there is an up charge of $.90 to this $8.99 burrito. For me I go to a place called The Whole Enchilada so what else The Whole Enchilada Platter for protein I choose chicken also $8.99 note no up charge for chicken. For us no Mexican meal is complete without queso 8 oz size please and chips. This is where they really won us over at $3.79 you get nice light white melted cheese dip with a little bit of kick. The downside of this place don't go on Tuesday if you must call your order in first. The take out menu is teeny tiny so have a magnifying glass nearby. Note my second visit was on a Wednesday evening no crowds got in and out of the place quickly.

Food was just ok. The soda machine had no syrup and it was not a priority of the staff to change it.

The crunchwrap felt so fattening, they definitely changed how they make it!!! Barely any ingredients, just cheese, chicken, and sour cream. It was not good. Felt bloated for like 10 hours after. Go to bodega instead!!!!! 2 stars for the selection of hot sauces and salsa and decent service!

*NOT CELIAC FRIENDLY** The girl at the checkout didn't even know what a gluten allergy was. The girl standing next to her mentioned the tortillas are fried in a shared area. Other than that I should be fine, but I was not. Waited 40 minutes for 2 tacos and a Nacho plate. The Nachos looked like they'd been sitting for a while. The tacos taste like taco bell, but with good pico. The cheese on the taco seemed fake like some Kraft cheese. The traditional salsa was spoiled. The sprite in the machine tasted flat, and the Freestyle machine was filthy. Which you can clean, it actually comes apart where the ice is dispensed as well the tray underneath where everything is washed away.. Mediocre at best, wasn't even worth the risk for me.
