Twin Cities Restaurant and Bar Openings to Know, November 2025 | Eater Twin Cities

"Taking over the vacated Umi Sushi & Hibachi space, this Stillwater original brings its mix of dive bar energy, 1990s nostalgia, and scratch-made dishes to Blaine; the new location leans into ’90s sports décor and an upgraded menu with steak, seafood, and smash burgers." - Jeffy Mai

In short: Good food, with good service. Food is flavored well and salted well, can be too much if you're salt sensitive. Cheese curds Soft and batter is not super crispy, but very tasty. Highly recommend the BBQ sauce with. The normal dipping sauce is also good too. Cuban Great flavor with loads of meat. There is a good twist with the sour dough bread. Burger Flavored well and meat quality is amazing. Patty was crispy and salted well. The bun also held up very well with the burger, which didn't get soaked up with the juices. Fries could be better/crispy but still solid Drinks were very good and highly recommend the twists they have on it. I definitely would go back again to try some of the other food items.

The Wild Hare is the newest addition to the growing city of Blaine! Absolutely love the open inviting atmosphere and the patio that will open on Spring of 2026 is going to be amazing! The bar area has tv's and opens up to the beautiful private patio via a garage door. Seating consists of bar area, high top tables and partial booths. Game room has a variety of games. Food menu ranges from chicken wings, burgers, appetizers, and other foods with a Moroccan flare, variety of cookie desserts, beers, wines, n/a beverages, and creative cocktails. Service was friendly but on the slow side due to establishment just opening ; i am sure this will greatly improve with time. They have pull tabs and etabs but what a huge disappointment that they chose to support Blaine over the smaller much Spring Lake Park that really needs the support. I love that they support local businesses and list the preferred vendors!

Almost satisfactory. We went on a Friday at 6pm (prime time!). It was packed, insanely loud, service was rushed but good, and tables were tight (I'm skinny and had to shimmy sideways between tables to sit down). I got the $13 Hercules Smash Burger, but had no idea the meat patty was so THIN - 1/8" to 1/4" thick (I know Smashburgers are thin, but if the wait staff had mentioned how thin, I would've ordered the double). That said, the rest of the burger toppings tasted good. I'd try again a different day/time.

My mom and I came here for lunch and had a great time! The waitress was very friendly and informative of the menu. The appetizer we got was the burrata bomb which came with fresh mozzarella and roasted cherries tomatoes in a cast iron skillet so it took a little work to eat but was refreshing I got the royal with cheese, which is a pulp fiction reference-all of the menu items are references to movies and songs from the 90s and we really nerded out over that. The price for 1 patty was only 11.50 and it’s grass fed beef from a local farmer, they also list where they get their meat from. So in my opinion it’s a great price especially if you look at the quality and price of fast food these days. My mom got the latin bowl with the added grilled chicken, it was phenomenal. Spicy and flavorful and the chicken was well cooked. They have a Korean bowl option too, which it’s just nice to have a Latin/Asian inspired menu since Chino Latino closed down, and we didn’t even have to drive all the way to the cities for this My side salad was also very fresh and they had a balsamic that was also creamy it was so good. They have roasted chickpeas instead of croutons and I was a huge fan of the seasoning and texture of those. My mom doesn’t even like chickpeas and she loved the salad and the crunch they added. We came around lunch time on a Saturday, they weren’t too busy but still full of people and our food came out fast and hot. The whole experience was great They’re offering desserts from an ice cream sandwich food truck. So many flavors to choose from that all sounded gas. We got the oatmeal cookie one with cinnamon pecan ice cream it’s so good (this was the gluten free option too) ! I honestly think all these bad reviews came from people who came here when it was super busy and I feel like it’s fair to give this place a break their first week open, everybody is still learning and they got slammed with tons of business right away.

I’m writing this review a few weeks late, but still thought I’d share feedback. My husband and I came in here on a weeknight, not very busy. Sat at the bar, got served drinks right away, very friendly bartender. We put a food order in as well, chicken sandwich and burger. (No sides, that costs extra!) After almost an hour, we asked other bartender if our food was coming out soon. My husband and I were talking so we were not in a rush. Bartender comes over embarrassed and stated food order never was placed and he said it was the manager who had taken our order. Manager soon came over and apologized and comped our food, but still, it took an HOUR AND A HALF until we ate. Our sandwiches were so tiny for the price. Hubby said burger was very plain and was finished in about 4 bites. My chicken was just as small and was so over cooked it was like eating leather. Every time I took a bite the whole chicken would come out of the bun. Normally I would have had them make another one, but I dared not say anything after it was already comped and took an hour and a half. Manager did do right by us by apologizing and comping food, but still terrible experience unfortunately.

Unique place. 90’s vibe. Must try the desert. Only suggestion I would make is, if you are going to have a desert option based on a movie (Point Break), your staff should know about the movie. Our waitress was wonderful. We took bets on if she would know the movie. She had no clue. Doesn’t affect my rating. But come on!!! No clue? Hasn’t even heard of it? There is a painting on the wall even.

My partner and I visited late fall, I have to say the menu looked great! Although we were underwhelmed. The flavor is not there, smash burgers are small. I tried their health juice tonics and did enjoy them very much!
