The Willows Flea Market

Google
An amazing establishment. It was like walking through memory lane. A lot of great used items, but also a lot of great antiques. The thought that kept coming to mind was that this place was like a museum, where you actually have the option to buy the exhibition pieces if you wanted to do. I wish I could go back and visit again, but sadly, we visited the shop during a family vacation to Maine, so we won't be able to return any time soon. This was one of our highlights of the vacation though. Thank you.

Google
The Willows is huge!! It's 3 buildings, and one building has 3 floors packed with vendor booths. From antiques to modern items, furniture to crafts, to handmade items, The Willows has everything you could possibly want to look at in a flea market. It is definitely fun to wander, even if you don't manage to find anything (though you probably will).

Google
Great flea.market run by nice people. If you want to see it all plan to stay hours. There is a massive variety of items for sale from numerous categories. My wife got books and puzzles and a Christmas gift for me. I got a gift for my son, a stuffed michelen man,a monkey wrench, a Mickey mouse an d owl salt and peppers

Google
There are a lot of vendors and prices for many items and collectibles are reasonable. Staff is most helpful. But there were no hankies, which was the main reason for my visit.

Google
This place is huge!!! Two different buildings and one is three floors!! The staff is friendly and you never know what you will find. Only thing is try going in the warmer season it can get pretty cold

Google
Market is okay, most of it is over priced, it's the pokemon store that I love. Guy is super chill and has so many cards to pick from, best place around to go and see. Packs are more expensive but it's nice to find cheap lose cards to fill up my binder, plus they are better price than most other people sell for. Guy is also super open to trades which is a huge win for me!

Google
3 floors in the large barn plus 1 floor in the small barn. Stop in the small barn first or last but don’t miss it (#889 was our favorite). Not just a flea market but antiques as well. Owners and staff are top notch. Something for everyone in all price ranges. Plan for an hour or longer.

Lots of STUFF. Some new crafty stuff, lots of old stuff. Most intriguing was the furniture made from old sewing machine cabinets and other furniture. If you have allergies, know that the largest building smelled a bit musty but it wasn't too bad. A guitar-playing busker (on a Saturday afternoon) added to the experience. If it's June thru September (until first frost), Goss Berry Farm is 5 minutes away with U-pick berries and flowers, plus a farm stand. Flea market then berries...makes for a nice day.

Yelp
Truly one of the best antique stores in the country. Not sure how anyone can give less than 5 stars! Built in an old chicken coop, this store is probably 500ft long and 3 stories. Each booth is owned by a different dealer, and the majority of things are decently displayed and not junk. If you love a hunt in a well curated store, this is absolutely for you. Do not miss this antique store while you are in Maine. It's my favorite!

Yelp
Great classic flea market. Something for everyone. Owner and staff very helpful and kind.

Yelp
This is a negative review. Service animals are NOT welcome and the people working there seem to think they have some God given right to ask what a person's disability is, "why do you need a service dog?". It is ILLEGAL to ask that. In my case I told them that was none of their business and got thrown out. These people apparently don't like dogs in general and service dogs in particular and secondly don't like it when a woman stands up to them and doesn't kow tow to their "superiority". This JUNK shop is NOT wheelchair accessible as they claim, I could not get into a lot of the booths, nor do they have handicap accessible restrooms available. Don't waste your time, DO NOT go here to shop, there are much better antique shops nearby.

Yelp
Wasn't planning on writing but the other reviews irked me. Planning a visit there soon and have at least two close friends who sell there and have a great relationship with the place. The nasty notes seem to be about (emotional) service dogs, (questionable) child behavior and their no return policy. I can't speak for these specific situations but they have every right to enforce their policies without people getting snarky. It's a cavernous place with a lot of opportunity for damage and injury from negligent customers in unsupervised areas. And especially the dogs. Can customers have somewhere.... anywhere where we don't have to share our space with dogs? Please! And we all know the "emotional support" trend has driven people to feel they can slip their dogs in anywhere they please.... even those without paperwork... so suspicion is not out of line.

Yelp
Took a 30 minute drive there on Sunday, I checked the website which said they were open. Arrived only to find them closed. I did find another antique store in Brunswick that was open. Found what I was looking for. Bad business for Willows. Will not be returning.

Yelp
Willows consists of a 2 buildings. One is 3 stories and has a lot of vendors. There is no AC so if you go earlier in the day try to start at the top. I always end up getting tired and have never finished and looked at everything on 2nd and 3rd floor. There is another building that is smaller and one story. I always end up buying something at both. Most of the parking is up on this hill and you walk down the gravel driveway, so if someone has difficulty maybe try parking below or drop them off. They take Amex too. During Covid they have closed the restrooms and have Portapotty outside, so maybe go ahead of time They post featured or new vendors on their Facebook page.

Yelp
Discrimination at it's finest. I have shopped there multiple times with my daughter and her service dog, we were wearing masks minding our own business - when we were told to leave that dogs were not allowed . She then asked if it was a service dog - yes - she asked what disability we had? Which we told her was illegal- and she then asked to see paperwork - which is also illegal. She went and got a man who continued to harass us - I went to leave and found a credit card next to my vehicle and had to go back I and return it - I wanted to leave it in the driveway but I'm better than that! Don't let them bully you. We left, but I'm not sure what we could have done in that situation. We know our rights but why argue with people who don't. We were embarrassed enough. So if you are disabled with a service dog, unless it's absolutely obvious to them be prepared to be humiliated!

Thomas M.

Yelp
I love flea markets, junk shops and anyplace I may find a bargain. It all depends what you are looking for and willing to spend. I can't speak for the service dog reviews, but I know if they are not legal service dogs then I back the place 100%. I personally am tired of dog owners taking their dogs every where. Lot's of neat things to see and buy.

Yelp
Incredible place. Great variety of stalls. Also great range of prices. Made it through in one day and found what we were looking for! Also, great that they have local chocolates at the point of purchase on the way out!

Amber A.

Yelp
This place illegally turned a service dog away. The owner presented the documentation needed and the supervisior didnt even look at the paperwork. He simple said "no emtional support dogs". He then asked the owner what the dog was for. Legally, you can not asked a certified service dog owner this. They are not within the federal guidelines. They should be fined for the way they treated this human. Due to the ignorance and disrespectful nature of the employees, I've linked this: https://www.maine.gov/ag/about/service_animal_policy.html

Yelp
Always something cool to find for a variety of interests ... huge building, many diverse venues to peruse, three levels of space! If you're thorough like me it'll take hours just to see it all.

Yelp
Judging by the comments, it's seems to me that this place is very well run and managed. I can generally read between the lines. The dog person was more than likely not legit and the parent probably had a child that was not very well behaved. Kudos to Willows management for a job well done.

Yelp
Great flea market! There are 3 floors to this place. Great antiques and collectibles. You definitely need time to go through it all. Great prices on top of that. Worth the visit.

Yelp
Pretty big flea market - three stories. We started at the very top and worked our way down. Some cool items in here and not very expensive. Left spending $24 - got 2 books (one was ¢50 and the other $2), 1 table cloth that I plan to use as a picnic blanket, a set of 4 cloth napkins, some dish towels, and a reusable 100% cotton bag which I put everything I bought into. I've been on a mission to produce less waste and finding these reusable items second hand and in excellent condition was a plus for this lifestyle I'm trying to adopt. There's a cafe outside of the flea market. Good to grab a drink or little something to eat. Got a chocolate muffin that was ok. They also offer pizza and some other foodstuffs.

Brian S.

Yelp
Place looks interesting from the outside but the management has no skills with respect to handling the customer. They were rude and I immediately felt like they thought I was doing them a favor. Left quickly and was glad that I didn't spend any of my are earned cash with these people. Don't waste your time. Plenty of other similar shops on Route 26 where the owners are friendlier.

Yelp
What a FUN place ! THREE FULL floors of antiques, new items, yard sale-like items, collectibles, and on and on and on. Cannot wait to go back !

Yelp
I love going to the Willows Flea Market in Mechanic Falls! I know there will be something that catches my eye there whenever I do. If you enjoy the eclectic style or fine antiques, this place is really worth checking out! Three very large floors with multiple vendors on each. Something for everyone.

Yelp
There are two buildings here. One has three full floors of antiques, collectibles, kids clothes, and anything else you could want. Open Thursday - Sunday. I believe that it is cash only. Had a great time browsing. It's worth the drive. It's a hidden gem!

Yelp
Awful experience. The older woman who works there with the long, curly hair was extremely RUDE. My child was with me the whole time but she felt the need to harass me, letting me know that children need to be supervised. When I told her my child was right with me she proceeded to argue with me saying my child is a couple steps away. I also witnessed her harassing other parent. It too bad because this place is actually nice and a good size. This woman needs to find another job where she doesn't have to deal with people.

Yelp
If I could vote 10 stars I would! By far one of my most favorite places to go! Always such a treat ! Plan a full day to visit and make sure your rested up! There is soooo much to see and it's easy to miss gems! It's like a big scavenger hunt for amazing items!

Yelp
I've now been to the The Willows 4-5x. It's so large, it takes multiple visits to get through all of the stuff. It's sort of like a very large indoor flea market but the items are all very unique and interesting. Some of the items will bring some memories of childhood no matter how old you are. Some items are new hand crafted from local vendors. There's plenty of parking and the people that run the place are super friendly and helpful. I could easily spend a half day here browsing every weekend. There's something for everyone. I especially like to combine a visit to the Oxford Casino with a half day of shopping the various antique stores but I find myself returning here more so than the other ones I've visited before. When you have 3 floors and inventory that is always being added, vendors changing, there's always something new or something you perhaps overlooked before. I highly recommend you check it out. Be mindful of the store hours when you plan a visit as they are only open Thurs-Sun. p.s. They also have a page on facebook, they post photos of some of the stuff along with the booth number where it can be found "www.facebook.com/thewillowsfleamarket".

Yelp
I love browsing at Willows! However, if you go on a cold winter day, dress very warmly as it is extremely cold there. Hopefully, someday they'll get a better heating system. But the place is huge and makes for a fun day of browsing and buying....lots of treasures to be had!

Jill T.

Yelp
Staff is not very friendly. In addition, it was freezing there in February! There is no heat and many of the booths have poor lighting. If someone walks up with something not priced - can't have it. It goes into "lost and found". Other places I've gone would call the booth owner. Makes me wonder what the booth renters are getting for their money?

Joel F.

Yelp
Pretty rough and the people aren't friendly. Very suspicious management and disgusting atmosphere

Debra D.

Yelp
The place is large with lots of vendors but the owner and people running it are rude. If you have kids or a drink with you forget about it!

Yelp
WORST PLACE EVER! Rude owner. Bought something got out the door and realized it was defective. Wanted to exchange it as I was less than 2 minutes out the door. He refused. All sales final. I understand it is a flea market, but seriously hadn't even left the premises. Wasn't asking for money back. Excellent 3 other close flea markets. Don't waste your time or money here. I ended up throwing the item in the trash. This is a negative star review but it wouldn't post if I didn't give it one star.

Gretchen D.

Yelp
This place is incredible. This old chicken coop was so beautifully redone. The vendors are nice and everything is laid out beautifully. So does on the hot side in there but that can't be helped. Just a great place to go on Saturday to look around.
