The Win-Dow at The Grove - Review - Beverly Grove - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"When The Win-Dow opened a location at The Grove, it immediately became the best burger option inside Beverly Grove’s favorite Caruso-owned megamall. Are there better smashburgers around town? Sure, but for a cheap snack before heading to a movie or a fake holiday snowstorm, just know that every item from this walk-up window by the old Maggiano’s costs less than two validated hours in the parking garage. Their double cheeseburger might be the top seller, but we prefer the juicy fried chicken sandwich with a creamy-crunchy slaw and an order of their crisp McDonald’s-esque fries." - Brant Cox

It’s hard to beat these prices in LA! You can get a burger, a drink, and fries for less than $15 which is a steal compared to some of these other burger places. The burger itself was alright—not the best I’ve ever had, but still yummy. Fries were nothing special either, but the star of the show was definitely the strawberry milkshake. Possibly one of the best milkshakes I’ve ever had! I rarely finish my drinks, but I drank every last drop out of this milkshake. I definitely want to come back just to try more. The overall atmosphere is also not the best here though, with flies buzzing around and not enough seating.

Google
Almost my top spot in LA, just shake off the slip-ups. 🍔✨ The Win-Dow lives up to the hype when it comes to food and value. The cheeseburgers are classic perfection—American cheese, soft bun, flavorful (though small) patty. If you’re hungry, go for the double.
The fried chicken sandwich? Also excellent—crispy chicken, tangy aioli, lettuce, and a pillowy bun all working in harmony. And a grain bowl with guac, veggies, egg, and brown rice for just $8? In LA? Practically unheard of. Now, the 3% surcharge should just be incorporated into the price.
And while my order was to-go, they forgot the shake—I only got it because I checked and asked. Turns out they were still working on it, and they acted like that’s their usual procedure. In the end I didn’t even like it. Fix the small stuff, and this spot could easily be my #1.

Google
Great burger and Lemonade. Atmosphere is really open and chill. I also tried their chicken sandwich. The meat didn't taste as fresh and I didn't like the breading, but would definitely get the burger again, when I'm in the area.

Google
The best burger we’ve had in years! The ambiance and music (hip hop) was great And the service a ten! Our only request is that you open a location on Boulder, Colorado!

Google
WILL STOP HERE AGAIN- I was shopping and wanted to try the Win-Dow for lunch. I was not disappointed. For $13.50 I got an amazing cheeseburger, fries, and a water. Everything was made fresh. Order a side house sauce for your fries, it’s worth it. They play good music, and the seating area is large and clean.

Google
modest simple, absolutely delicious. one of the best smashburger style hamburgers I've had in quite some time.

Google
The MOST reasonable priced food IN LA. This is a restaurant that isn’t over charging and I respect that. The food is great. 8 buck grain bowl is killer

Google
The Win-Dow always hits, Silverlake & the Grove location are awesome…delicious smashed patties, great pickles, and melty cheese + the best price in town. Don’t miss it.

Yelp
one of the best burgers I've had in a while! really hard to find good service and good food in the same place. genuinely a great experience and amazing vibes all around.

Yelp
There is nothing like a great burger. Love this new burger spot. The burgers are fresh with great seasoning and is the perfect size. Now the fries were my favorite. I got cheese melted on my order of fries. Everything was so good. I hate I didn't get a shake. There is always next time. My daughter kept asking me to drive to the Grove to try your burger spot. Glad she did. We don't have anything like this in Valencia, CA. So we are always driving to LA to try new restaurants. Thank you all for making our experience amazing with great customer service. See you all soon!!

Yelp
I just finished eating my first order where I bought way more than I could eat to try everything that interested me. The line was short today, but it was definitely busy AF. I ordered to go but I ate some of it there when a table opened up to give it a fair experience and review. 1. Cheeseburger- 3 out of 5. Nothing special ok for the price. 2. Chicken sandwich - 1 out of 5. Really gross. Tasted and smelled like old oil. Got worse as I ate it. They should remove from the menu or fix it. 3. Fries - 3 out of 5. Nothing special. Probably bought frozen. The 60 cent jalapeño aioli wasn't anything great either. 4. Kale salad - 4 out of 5 - the star item-but not great enough to crave it. It needed more dressing. Croutons were a nice touch. So will I be back? I don't think so. Maybe I'd get a cheeseburger in a hunger pinch if I was already there and starving because under $5 is good and then I'd grab a kale salad but I'm sure extra dressing is $4.

Yelp
Wow I was so impressed. We were at the Grove and I've heard good things about this place and it definitely didn't disappoint! The items on the menu were so cheap!! For a chicken sandwich, cheeseburger, and fries it was around $16. You order at a literal window which made it a lot easier and convenient. There is a seating area where you can sit and stand after you order. For the food, we got the chicken sandwich which was nice and thin and had a crispy exterior. The flavor was something I've never had before. The slaw added a nice crunch and acidity to the dish. The hamburger was very good and tasted similar to FTW, but a lot cheaper. If I had to choose, I would come here since it's high quality food at a lower price. The fries were nice and crispy and were still fluffy in the inside. The fries were also not too salty. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised about this place and would definitely come here again if I was craving a burger! The table next to us also got hand dipped ice cream cones which looked delicious, but be prepared to get messy :)

Yelp
One of my favorite burgs in this city! Patties are thick but small. I definitely wanted another one after killing a double cheeseburger. Fries aren't anything special but they're still good! I was surprised by this spot since I've tried so many burgers in this city. Made it on my top 3 list! 1. Easy street 2. Chris n eddy's 3.The win-Dow 4. For the win 5. Irvs

Yelp
For the convenience, price point, service, and food, it's a five star for me! I work near this area and though this place is foodie heaven, it gets pretty pricey if you want to eat out. In comes Win-dow LA in the exterior area of the steakhouse, American Beauty. For convenience, I order my food at my office for pick-up, in case there is a long line. (FYI- it is not crowded or busy during the weekdays but walk-up orders tend to take less than 10 minutes.) Their burgers are my favorite kind- smashed patties with melted cheese and a soft bun. Fries comes extra and one order fills you up. It is enough for sharing. The surprise star is the shaved kale salad for only $7.50. This salad is so citrusy and refreshing, I couldn't get enough of it! You can take your food to the seating area a ways away in the Farmers Market, or you can grab and out door table, seated or standing, to enjoy your lunch as they play old school hip hop through the speakers.

Yelp
I was thrilled to see the Win-Dow finally opening up near the Grove. I think it's called the Win-Dow because you order at a window. They have some tables outside the major restaurant (American Beauty). I was pretty excited for the smashburger and it was indeed promising. The patty had a perfect crisp to it and it wasn't too salty. The potato bun paired well. It comes with raw onions and I'm not a fan of raw onions because for smashburgers I prefer grilled onions as it adds a charred sweetness to the burger. But I appreciate the sauce to burger ratio here. Their pickles are thick though, and crunchy so love that. The fries were nothing special and they could use more salt. Overall delicious spot and I will be back again. When compared to For the Win (another hot smashburger joint in LA), I do prefer the Win-Dow. I do recommend to go with a double cheeseburger as the single feels small especially if you come hungry!

Yelp
Is the viral $4 burger worth it? I came here with a friend for lunch to catch up. You order at an outside window, and a burger + fries + 3% health fee will run you approximately $9. There is outside seating available on the side of the window with 10 potential tables. Cheeseburger 4/5, I liked the bun and meat and pickles. The absence of tomato and lettuce is meant to keep the prices low but I would have preferred more veggies in this beyond the pickles and onions. French fries 3/5, standard fries, more crunchy than soft, not very salty

Yelp
If you crave a smashburger classically dressed with spread, american cheese etc You have come to the right place, perfectly prepared Located adjacent to its sister American Beauty, a steak house in the old Wood Ranch space in Farmers Market/ Grove complex

Yelp
Been wanting to try this place since they opened at the Grove. Had a cheeseburger and fries. While the burger was good, there were quite a few misses that made for a lackluster experience. I asked for cheese to be added to my fries. If they couldn't do that, they should have just said so. I literally had a slice of cheese (unmelted!) placed on top of my fries. I asked for the house sauce that comes on the burger on the side. It didn't come at all with the order. And when we went up to the window and asked for it, they tried to charge me for it. Also, all the tables were dirty. It's not like there was a rush and they couldn't get to the tables. I could see the staff playing on their phones through the pickup window. And last but not least, I'm not a fan of paper straws--especially when they come with a plastic cup. Probably wouldn't try this place again with all the other options at the Farmer's Market.

Yelp
So glad I finally got to try a burger from The Win-Dow after hearing/reading nothing but good things! I had just finished a big late lunch, so I only had it in me to try a cheeseburger and not a double like I would've typically ordered. But it's like they say, sometimes less is more and that was the case here. I feel like two patties would be good, but maybe too much. The bun was sweet and soft and the perfect amount of chew. The flavors of the bun with a rich, savory patty, melty cheese, and sauce and made each bite EXCEPTIONAL. Craveable, even. The cheeseburger here definitely made up for the mid patty melt I had for lunch, so thanks for that, Win-Dow!

Yelp
I am so glad to see them, expanding all over, their burgers are excellent! I also love their fries, it is so good to have an affordable fast, casual dining option at the Grove. Service was friendly, and the food was ready quickly. These are some of the best priced and best tasting burgers around, highly recommended!
google avatar

Taifha B.

Yelp
Terrible service. Long lines. And little to zero seating. The seating area is also exposed without heaters. I'd recommend the Venice location over this one.

Yelp
So excited that The Win-Dow has officially opened at The Grove! This is such a happy addition to the area, and I know it's going to be a top go-to spot for me whenever I'm here. My go-to order is the cheeseburger with a side of fries and smashed avo. The burger is super tasty. It may look like a smaller burger but the meal is deceivingly filling. The fries are always crispy and solid. I also tried the local strawberry shake, and woah it's so creamy and delicious. The perfect treat to round out the meal!!! (': Definitely stop by if you're at The Grove. It's casual, quick, and absolutely worth it!

Yelp
My husband came here and ordered two double cheeseburgers (for himself ) which was the perfect post AMC movie bite! I always say that he's a burger corner store, especially given that he is very particular about the burgers that he has especially coming from Texas!! He rated each burger 8.5 out of 10! He really liked the sauce and texture of the burger the service was pretty good, and we came on a Sunday afternoon and waited around 5-10 minutes for the food to come out. This restaurant advertises "fast and easy dining", and I would agree! There was plenty of seating next to the booth, and you order & pay first and pick up the food afterwards! The ambiance was as wonderful
google avatar

Misty G.

Yelp
Great burgers and better prices! What a good deal for your money! We luckily work close by and frequent this place for lunch now. It's easy to walk up to the window, place your order and and have an awesome - AFFORDABLE lunch that you can either take away or eat there. Give it a try!
google avatar

Azucena P.

Yelp
Right outside The Grove parking structure is this delicious burger spot. The staff is very friendly, the wait isn't terribly long and most importantly the burgers are delicious. Make sure you try the lemonade
google avatar

Theodore C.

Yelp
The Burger was delicious. Most burgers of this sort need more texture (like shredded lettuce and tomatoes), but it was flavorful. Service great too. The service was simple and fast. The outside seating was perfect for the product it was selling. The prices are a lot better than any competitor especially for the quality of the product. I would have to say its the best buy in LOS ANGELES to date. I parked in the Structure and I do not know if the Farmers Market provides parking validation. I am definite going back.
google avatar

Yelp
one of my fave burger spots in LA!!! and best prices in the city!!! love it and I highly recommend their jalapeño sauce!

Yelp
A review from three friends A: While inebriated: "Bro... these fries are making me see god bro" R: wow - going to the win-dow was life changing. You get a REALLY good meal for a very fair price. 10/10 experience J: I ordered the grain bowl with added chicken, and it was the perfect balance of healthy and feel-good food, all for a shockingly affordable price. Will come back next time! Thank you win-dow we love you
google avatar

Yelp
New spot in our neighborhood so it was exciting but unfortunately it did not live up to the hype... I prefer IRv's Burgers on melrose! don't get me wrong win-dow had a good smash burger but it's just as good as any other smash burger around like shake shack, burger she wrote, or goldburger (gold burger is better though) etc... service was super slow so points knocked off for that given that it's a very simple menu. Limited side dine out. Cool environment cuz it's at the grove. Got the double cheese burger, fries, dipped ice-cream cone & a kale salad. Fires were whatever. Ice-cream cone was bland. Kale salad was good. Customer service was slow but friendly & informed.
google avatar

Alain B.

Yelp
Pretty good burger, could use a little salt to make the crunchy bits tastier, no cheese on mine. No fries this time but a good burger without breaking the bank.
google avatar

Tery L.

Yelp
I tried out The Win-Dow at The Grove for the first time and opted for the grain bowl. I have to say it was both delicious and filling. It's great to have this new establishment so close to the office. The Win-Dow has taken over some of the space from The Old Wood Ranch and offers items like burgers, fried chicken sandwiches, french fries, grain bowls, and soft drinks. Considering the area and today's economic climate, the prices are definitely reasonable. The Win-Dow is worth checking out!
google avatar

Claire G.

Yelp
It doesn't make sense that the best kale salad in LA comes from a burger joint, but it's the truth! Some of the best burgers, too. Delicious and cheap is hard to come by, but the win-dow does it!
google avatar

Michael T.

Yelp
The best, every time. Friendly fast service, and super cute place. The food is always great and love coming here.
google avatar

Yelp
I went onto Yelp looking for a place to eat within walking distance. I seen The Win-Dow, so I decided to try it. People were super friendly and prices looked good for the Grove. I ordered the Double Cheese burger & Fries. 5-10 mins my order was ready. Burger is full of flavor and pretty filling. I was very satisfied with the food & service. Since it's just next door from my job I will be back.
google avatar

Ace C.

Yelp
Tasty Burger. But for $7.50 it should come with Fries. The Lemonade was A+ and the price was well worth a refill ($2.50)
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
Super packed and bumping location. Food is amazing as always and quality is unmatched. Really nice design and overall ambiance.
google avatar

Brianna D.

Yelp
Invited to soft opening. SO DELICIOUS. Burger & fries perfectly cooked and seasoned. Design of the restaurant is so cute. Can't wait to come back and also try the steakhouse!

Spencer C.

Yelp
I Love this place! My roommate use to live in sliver lake and introduced me to 'The Win-Dow' and I work at the grove and when I found out that we have a window next to my place of work literally less than a minute walk I had to indulge. Great atmosphere and always welcomed with kindness.

Yelp
I truly cannot understand how this place gets 1 star ratings. The food here is so good and the prices are amazing. They have a small menu because everything on it is perfectly done. The burgers are simple and delicious. My girlfriend and I got a burger, a beauty burger (vegetarian), fries, kale salad & a strawberry shake to share. If I'm honest I could probably eat it all myself because it's so good. Price for all of that is like ~$42 including a tip. In all my years I've been frequenting Win-Dow (obviously at their other locations because this spot is new) I've never once had service that's anything less than accommodating, friendly & efficient. The same is true at this location; I've been twice and the staff is so friendly and super welcoming. The seating they have is limited but it turns over really quickly so if you've ordered food and are looking for a spot it sit, it won't take long. If you're shopping at the grove or in the area, it's always worth a stop at Win-Dow. Literally always.

Jordan N.

Yelp
Came to this location @ 9:10 pm only for them to be closed even though Yelp and Google and their website states it's closed @ 10pm. The worker tried to make some excuse saying their sister store closed @ 10 pm and not them. When confronted about the yelp hours she paused and made more excuses that they closed early. She was rude and had a condescending tone. Will definitely not recommend coming here. The location is hard to find, the maps says it's near Nordstrom, which it's not. Customer service is poor and will not be back. My entire party is not happy as well. Do better. Edit they finally updated their hours according as of 12/12. My review was for 12/10.
google avatar

Margie M.

Yelp
Every time I go here the crew is cool and the food is amazing!! Not too many seats at a table but I can always get a side table.

Earth Person

Yelp
The burgers tasted great. The buns were really soft and were easy to chew. The cashier was also really polite and nice. The mood and general aesthetic of the restaurant was very modern meets street. I loved it.
google avatar

Steph B.

Yelp
I waited 30 minutes for a mobile order of two double cheeseburgers. After asking two employees, neither could find my order, and the manager initially couldn't either. They all acted like I was inconveniencing them for asking about my order. Eventually, they located it. When I got home, I discovered the jalapeño aïoli was missing. I give three stars because the burger was pretty good, although the bun was a bit thick. However, the poor customer service prompted this review. If I had received excellent service, I probably wouldn't waste my time writing this. I'll stick to other places unless I'm in a pinch and hungry.
google avatar

Sarah P.

Yelp
Fresh burgers and crispy fries, can't ask for more! Can't wait to try the shakes next time!

Stu C.

Yelp
Everything from here is delicious, and extremely affordable. Burgers and fries are great and the kale salad is perfect if you want something lighter. And those dip top ice creams are 10/10.

Adelaide R.

Yelp
Amazing spot! Great food great service! Love the pickles and the house sauce! Get the jalapeño sauce for your fries!

A B.

Yelp
No notes, just grateful they have a vegetarian option :') Love their salad and fries too. Will be a regular.
google avatar

Alan A.

Yelp
Best burger in LA for the price! French fries and shake were on point! Great addition to The Grove.

Sabby B.

Yelp
We tried the Beauty Burger (vegetarian), the chicken sandwich, fries and lemonade. The veggie burger is meh. Totally flavorless. It comes with cheese and a pickle or two, no sauce . You are better off getting a grilled cheese at In n Out. Chicken sandwich was equally flavorless. Fries were hot and crispy and the lemonade was decent. I guess you get what you pay for. Overall, not worth a trip at all.

Mia N.

Yelp
Love this spot! Been coming to this food spot for years and they never disappoint. Recommend the burger or their kale salad, depending on your mood!

Mimi D.

Yelp
Boring, bland, and unaccommodating. Refused to do the veggie burger with a lettuce wrap and don't allow you to order lettuce on the side instead persuaded me to get the kale salad, which I ordered without cheese and still had cheese on it, not vegan friendly and overall bad experience

Taylor C.

Yelp
In n out prices with a good vibe and outdoor seating !!! We recommend -Taylor C & Guy R

David D.

Yelp
The burger was really good and very well complimented by the house sauce, one of the best burgers in LA, and their jalapeño sauce has a good kick and flavor to it. The service was equally as great as the food and I would recommend everyone visit this location. The atmosphere was very welcoming and chill, you enjoy the good music while eating good food. Will visit again

Yelp
looking forward to bringing family and friends here! the service and quality are top tier and the staff was super welcoming!!

Rachel Rose O.

Yelp
We were apart of the soft open trial lunch run. Burgers and fries all around and it was fresh tasty and crispy!! Loved. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
jonny was super charismatic and wonderful. he made it quick and easy and answered any questions we had! 10/10

Yelp
you cannot get a drink without ice they demand you get ice in all your drinks even when it's proven extra cold beverages can be bad for your throat and digestion and there's no free refills at all even with iced tea which everyone gives free refills on iced tea if you do get no ice they give you a smaller cup even though you paid full price absurd ! they need to change this rule asap
