Having eaten at Bavette's in Chicago few times and knowing Chef Taylor's history there, I was very excited to try The Joyce in Miami Beach.
From start to finish, this experience was bespoke, elegant, sexy, and completely enjoyed on every level. The attentive welcome that was received was individual and intentional. It began upon my approach to The Joyce and was pulled through the experience until I left.
I was greeted initially by the GM and escorted to the hostess, who had my reservation ready and promptly seated me. The space is intimate and well decorated for the vibe the staff and menu have achieved.
I travel quite a bit for work and, as a party of 1, usually try to get a table because I get tired of sitting at bars. On this occasion, however, I decided to roll with it and see how it would go. I was so glad I did. I was greeted within 30 seconds of sitting down by JP, an engaging bartender who provided personal and customer-based insights throughout my experience.
During my meal, not only did JP do a great job of providing attentive service without being smothering, LeeAnn and Cecil--two other team members also stopped by to ensure that everything was wonderful and make sure the experience as a whole was perfect. The conversational intention of their visits was welcomed and appreciated. I enjoyed the stories behind a couple of the dishes, particularly the Sour Orange Pie.
The food was perfectly prepared. Hamachi, wings, steak, brussels, creamed kale...impossible to pick a favorite. I couldnt have gone wrong with any of them. The cocktails pair well with the dishes, too.
Fantastic job, LeeAnn and team. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to Miami Beach and The Joyce.
