"The managing partners of Charleston’s Basic Kitchen and the team behind New York City-based the Fat Radish plan to open a second Fat Radish in Savannah. The restaurant will sit at 36 MLK Jr. Blvd., inside the Windrose Apartment Hotel. Former Fat Radish partner Ben and wife Kate Towill, who opened Basic Kitchen in Charleston and run Basic Projects are behind the design and development of the boutique hotel. The Fat Radish team members include partners Natalie Freihon and Phil Wisner, executive chef Nick Wilber, and director of operations Michelle Watanabe. “Savannah has this wonderful, eclectic energy that we find super inspiring,” said Freihon, “We have come to love the hospitality community here and are thrilled to contribute to it. The Fat Radish Savannah has been a long time coming and we could not be more excited to open our doors this summer.”" - Erin Perkins

Great location, and good unit. HOWEVER, if you are planning on getting ~any~ sleep during your vacation, do not stay here. I understand being centrally located and dealing with a bit of late night noise. In fact, I live in a downtown metro area so it is hardly new to me. What I do not understand is having an apartment above a taco stand that is BLASTING deep base music from 3pm when they starting prepping the kitchen until 3:30am EVERY NIGHT. I was so excited to leave by the end of the weekend so I could actually get some sleep. The Hotel/AirBnB owners need to get their act together and get the restaurant downstairs to figure their act out because its absurd that the bars in the area were less than half as loud as this one location.

The best thing the Windrose has going for it is its location. The hotel is convenient to tons of restaurants, bars, and shopping in downtown Savannah. Unfortunately, that’s about the end of the convenience. There is no elevator, so if you stay on the 4th floor and enjoy reduced street noise, you’ll still need to trek up and down several flights of stairs. Speaking of noise, there is a bar next door that blasts music all night. Thankfully I looked over the reviews before arriving and brought a white noise generator which helped. I feel like it could have been cleaner as well, as one of the towels smelled like it came from a smoker’s home and some of the unit just seemed dingy. Having a kitchenette and laundry machines in the unit is nice for a longer stays, but bear in mind the aforementioned downsides. The AC units are quite loud, but work well. Had our friends not been staying at the Windrose, we would have stayed somewhere else and I definitely wouldn’t stay here again.

What we loved: Very clean, modern decor and charming appearance, stocked with everything we would need, very close to restaurants and shops and to many SCAD buildings, staff was accommodating when we had issues. What we didn’t love: No on-site parking so we had to park in a garage (and pay for parking for three days) and walk to the hotel with all of our bags. It is SO loud on the street by the hotel. There is a karaoke bar next door and it’s terrible. Lots of partying, yelling, drunk people at all hours, loud motorcycles and other loud cars…the noise is constant and there is no buffer; it sounds like it’s in your room. We had a bunch of college kids staying right below us in the hotel and they were partying all day and night. They were so loud and obnoxious that I had to call and email the staff to try to get it taken care of. There is no front desk or on-site staff to help. It’s unfortunate that the location of this hotel is so awful because otherwise it would be a place we would recommend and would have enjoyed so much! I guess if you like lots of noise and not sleeping you might love it here!

Cute place and city to explore, too much to Do for one weekend! But if you are looking for a quiet place to stay and relax, this is not the place for you. Very LOUD music downstairs, sounds like it’s right in your room, until 3am. Cannot emphasize this enough! Shower took a long time to heat up and water pressure was low. Not a lot of amenities, no paper towels, no creamer, coffee for only one day stay, we were there 3. Emailed the host and they would not bring it to us. Stiff bed, and had to take our own trash out. No parking, 25$ a day for a parking spot, extra costs to be aware of. Pack light, stairs up to rooms. Would not stay again, no relaxing and music/ loud drunk people all night. Unless you like to party and don’t mind loud loud music, Don’t stay here. Place was cute and clean.

I stayed here 2 or 3 years ago and I must have had a room on the opposite side of the hallway that I do now. The walls are thin so I could always hear people in the other rooms / hallways but it wasn't ever too bad. Convenient location and the room itself is great but this time my room overlooks the bars next door and it is unbelievably loud. Music until 3am every night (even tonight on Christmas) and drunk people screaming so loudly I can hear their conversation. On check in, I wasn't provided the correct code so it took 20 minutes to even get into my room, trying to communicate with someone without signal (not their fault obviously but just majorly inconvenient when I'm stuck in the hall with my suitcases). The ac unit wasn't working which was a bit miserable midday. I stayed here again obviously because I remember my last trip being enjoyable but I would never stay here again. The loft setup isn't worth all the fuss and disturbances.

The location was cool, for easy access to fun in Savannah bar, food, shopping. Downside no parking directly at the apt. hotel. A couple of blocks from the River Walk. Arrived to obviously dirty sheets, it made me wonder if the unit had been cleaned at all. Communication about access was not complete. The 24/7 hospitality got us in and someone out at 1am to change the sheets. I'm disappointed that I have not heard from the staff as promised. A cool location, cool enough apartment, was not convinced I should return.

This is by far the best hidden gem in Savannah. The location was perfect for our family- within walking distance to many shops, restaurants and attractions. The aparment was super clean and we felt very safe with their cleaning protocols in the midst of the recent COVID outbreak. The decor was chic and modern but at the same time very cozy and inviting. The building seemed to be fully occupied yet there was very little noise from other units. The beds were comfortable and the linens were so soft. We used the kitchen to cook on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and it is fully equipped with everything you need. Even though we cooked in a few nights, we did eat out the Fat Radish, which is convenitely located downstairs and the food was excellent. We had a couple of questions for the staff along the way and all of our texts were immediately responded to and everyone was so friendly and polite . Overall this place is a 10 out of 10, cant wait to visit again!

Trendy and posh decor, perfect location, and great customer service. The bad reviews are deceiving because they aren’t about the actual hotel but the noisiness of the city and the neighboring bars and just Savannah nightlife in general. It’s a happening place. This place is a gem, very good value, highly recommend, just bring ear plugs! lol. Booked through Airbnb, will def be back! But will try and stay on the top floor next time to avoid noise from above.
