Absolutely incredible experience! The food was delicious, fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was amazing, warm, inviting, and full of great energy. I read some of the previous reviews, and my hope is that people give this place the patience and support it deserves to grow. The owner is always such a pleasure to talk to, we originally met him back when we used to go to the Jet Room, and it’s clear he brings years of experience, passion, and dedication to everything he does. This place has all the right ingredients for long-term success, and we can’t wait to come back again soon! Highly recommend giving it a try!

Love the food! I’ve had a few things but my favorite so far is the sesame crusted yellow fin tuna. The sauces and pickled onions together with the tuna is literal perfection 🤤too good that I didn’t get a pick before I ate it all. And they have live music and amazing bartenders! Will definitely be back again and again!

It was our second time here. Food is definitely better the second time around. We initially went when they just opened, and understandably they needed to work on a few things. They now have prices on their menu. They also have decent sized portions. Staff were attentive and friendly. Love their huge pretzel! Prime rib was delicious!

Amazing food, outstanding service and great value for money. Where the Windsor falls short is ambiance . In seeking to "reimagine the supper club " it lost the coziness. The 15 ft high arched ceilings and teal semi circular booths have resulted in a echo chamber so loud, you can't hear the person next you let alone across the table. The cod fish fry and Blu cheese burger were wonderful, but it felt like we were eating in a bus station.

Food is phenomenal! We tried damn near everything on the menu! Wings- cooked to perfection! Cheese curds were so yummy (you get a variety of flavors)!! Wagyu bavette melts in your mouth!! Staff is so friendly and service was incredible. Owner is very involved and super friendly. Drinks were delightful and bar staff was hilarious! Sat outside and enjoyed the sun for a bit, it is the perfect spot to relax! Can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu 😋

My high school bestie and I went to The Windsor for lunch yesterday. I have been wanting to go there, but waited until it had been open for a bit. I was told that The Windsor was a little pricey, but, honestly, if the atmosphere is good, the service is good, I feel comfortable, and the food is good, I'm all in! The Windsor ticks all the boxes. The venue is large, airy, and bright. Our server, Cila, was cheerful and confident. She recommended some dishes and endorsed the ones she particularly liked. Neither my buddy nor I are big eaters, so we settled on the appetizer menu. She ordered the wings in honey BBQ sauce with ranch dip and was served 6 large wings, with dip and crisp celery and carrots. I chose the giant pretzel served with an excellent spinach artichoke dip. Wait...did I say giant? Try humongous and warm and tasty! I nibbled at the pretzel and managed to eat about one 8th. I asked for the rest in a to-go box. I brought the rest home in a pizza box, the only box large enough, and my hubby and I polished it off with soup for dinner! Well worth the price, I'd say. If you want cheap food and blah atmosphere, avoid The Windsor. I've included a few pictures, so take a look!

I didn’t catch our servers name last night, but she was absolutely delightful. We had two other employees come and check how our food was, so 10/10 for staff. Our food came out in literally 5 minutes. Everything was flavorful, and we enjoyed the booth seating. We will definitely be back.

Great pizza! Windsor style was a double decker pizza with great flavor and texture. Really enjoyed the meat lovers a little more than the taco. Both tasty though!

Yelp
I had dinner, arriving at the start of the dinner period. A server offered table or a booth. I wanted the vintage looking booths. Our server arrived pleasantly and promptly. This being a building trying to do all the things (bar, concert venue, restaurant) I was apprehensive about sourcing and quality. When I asked where the hanger steak came from, my server checked and reported it came from Jenifer's Market in Madison--always nice to know where quality ingredients come from. So I ordered the hanger steak. I felt better knowing there was competence at the executive chef level and whomever in the kitchen gave this answer this day. The hanger steak was cooked perfectly to my requested temperature. My only complaint is the lack of dinner rolls. When none came with my entree I asked about it and was told they only come out after 5pm. When I asked at 5pm, I received two - and they are two bite size rolls. But the four bites were worth the wait though I'm suggesting to the place that dinner rolls be made to order with dinner. I didn't love the feel of having to ask for what is listed on the menu (rolls with dinner entrees - no mention of only available after a certain time). Overall, great steak and attentive service, but the bread situation makes me reduce this one star.

Yelp
Ordered two 14" pizzas for carry-out that were both really great. The pizzas only took 15 minutes to be ready after ordering, barely enough time to get there and have a quick beer in the bar before hand! One was the Taco Speciality that comes standard on thin and crispy crust that is topped with a refried beans base, covered with diced chicken, taco sauce, fresh cilantro, green onion, diced tomatoes, red onion, cheddar cheese and a crema drizzle. It had a nice zing to it, highlighted by the cilantro, and softened by the crema. One of the best taco pizzas I've ever tried for sure! For the 2nd pizza we did a " build your own," with the "Windsor" crust, which is a thick double crust that is nice and chewy. With that we chose the marinara red sauce as a base and added sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, and standard cheese (mozzarella?). The Windsor crust was unique with a wonderful surprise of layers, providing an excellent texture and flavor, and making it impossible to resist eating it entirely instead of leaving edges behind for another piece. There is also a deep dish variety of crust available that I look forward to trying next time. Best pizza in the DeForest Windsor area, even better than Branch& Daughter IMO.!

Yelp
Friday night visit. Service was good. Decor was nice. I had the Panko crusted haddock that came with special fries. Fries were okay but could have been hotter. I'll request their normal fries next time. Panko breading was good but reminded me of more of a coating for shrimp. Somehow it didn't really work on fish in my opinion. My wife ordered the chicken strip appetizer as her meal and requested BBQ sauce as a dip. It was their house "Windsor sauce" and was so-so. Ranch is included. She was charged $1 for the Windsor sauce but didn't get the ranch. I was disappointed that on a November Friday at 6 p.m. they didn't have soup. Prices are not out of line. I'll give them another chance or two and see if things improve.

Yelp
I really wanted to like The Windsor after visiting with my husband and two kids. The concept is great -- an outdoor volleyball court, playground, and bar area paired with a large indoor space featuring plenty of booth seating. Unfortunately, our experience didn't live up to the setting. When we were seated by the owner and I asked for coloring books or crayons, I wasn't simply told they didn't have any. Instead, I received a lengthy explanation that they would never offer those items because "tables and seats would get ruined." The tone came off as unnecessarily defensive and unprofessional. The food was also disappointing for the price -- our burgers were overcooked and just okay overall. While the building itself is impressive, the high ceilings and concrete floors create a loud, echoing environment that makes conversation difficult. It's a beautiful space with potential, but the atmosphere and service missed the mark for a family-friendly experience.

Yelp
The manager friggin sucks. He clearly doesn't know how to speak because all he does is waive his hands to tell you to move out of an open space. He also doesn't know how to seat people appropriately. Food is good. Waiters could use social training, as they acted like we were wasting their time.

Yelp
Born & raised in Madison all of my 78 years, and have such Wonderful memories of going to Supper Clubs all over Southern WI. Unfortunately, this owner doesn't have any idea what a WI SUPER CLUB is, which is how The Windsor was described & advertised as during construction. It's a mix-mash of Mc Donald's (with a kiddy area out back), a "jock place" complete with volleyball courts, a dance hall with live bands, a gaming room and semi-circle seating that seniors can't get in or out of. Two large TVs in bar area to watch sports, but they won't set the volume so you can hear & enjoy your favorite teams with friends. Living nearby, we anxiously waited forever for The Windsor to open, so we'd have a really special, beautiful, bright & lovely neighborhood place to gather with friends to cheer on our favorite WI teams, and stop for some relaxing cocktails, but this is NOT IT. And we're sooo disappointed, and hope they reconsider their "theme".

Yelp
It looks beautiful but that's kind of where it ends with this place. Originally advertised as a supper club; it's not. The menu has burgers and pizzas, and interestingly no prices. After 2 months you'd think you'd at least have a piece of paper that informs your customers of what they are paying for a simple cheeseburger. For as beautiful as the outside is, the inside decor gives off a McDonalds vibe in the dining room. This place seems like it doesn't know what it wants to be. A live music venue or a restaurant. I notice they don't respond to anything people ask them on their Facebook page either. And still no website that provides any information (menu, prices, live music schedule, sports league, daily specials). For 2 months in and not having any of this ready to go it seems like the owners were ill prepared for this venture and are still figuring things out and at this point it might be too late as they've already turned a lot of people off. Food is ok but nothing special especially for 20 bucks for a cheeseburger. You're going to turn a lot of people off by charging top end prices for an average product. I don't mind paying 7 dollars for a beer at a nicer supper club, but at a place that serves tuna melts and cheeseburgers it seems like a pretty expensive blue moon.

Yelp
The place is not very inviting. Walk in to a 3/4 empty dining room and he says we have to wait 35-40 minutes. Ask him why he says if you have a reservation you can get right in. Very disorganized, not enough wait staff, the staff aren't very friendly. We ended up having a drink and walking out. Do not recommend.

Yelp
New restraunt with great food. Very clean, airy, and beautifully designed. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Might be a bit pricey for most.

Yelp
Went there on a Saturday night. The food was at best average. The price was above average. They've been open long enough to have drink menus, wine list and such. Service was not good. I know the place hasn't been opened that long and I hope they make it but they need to be better. I feel there are far much better places for the price.

Yelp
Went to the Windsor on a Friday night to see the music that they were featuring. It's a beautiful building and were immediately told by the bartender that you could not order food at the bar. We decided to just do drinks and listen to the music that was featured. The Brewers were playing so we asked if they could switch the channel on their TV from Woman's college volleyball to the Brewer game. The person we asked said they don't have the Brewers on when there is music and were told to go to the outside bar for the Brewer game. The entire staff working that night seemed to be angry and not very hospitable. Another thing we noticed was a table in the bar area that had dirty dishes and glasses that remained untouched by anyone for the 2 hours that we were there. Maybe they are having staffing issues? Bottom line is nice building with not so nice staff that hopefully will figure it out before they lose any more business.
