We spent the day at the track on Saturday,July 5. Our dinner at an unnamed nearby tavern restaurant was disappointing to say the least. Later that evening, we walked the village with the intention of experiencing a live jazz performance jazz bar on Maple St. However, the rap joint next to it was so loud with an outdoor DJ rapper, that the cool vibe of the tiny jazz venue was negatively affected. Beside, the tavern was a sardine can on a hot evening. While viewing upon a number of dance clubs and rock joints, we were lucky enough to stumble upon the WB. We inquired if their was live jazz and the gracious hostess immediately guided us to the basement, a very subdued space conducive to allow for intimate performances. We were not disappointed as pianist Andy Iorio performed a number of popular songs from Billy Joel to the Beatles at a very high level. Of course, wine was paired with a small plate of gourmet rice balls to satisfy our taste buds. Not stuffy, but clean and classy is how I would describe it to my my hard working middle class friends. I thank the operator and owner for investing the time and money to create this unique venue. On our list!

Was at the wine bar Aug 14-15. All I can say about Melissa and her team - first class! Food was great, wine selection was excellent! Casey makes an outstanding key lime pie! Great atmosphere! Thank you for a perfect two days! All the best for the rest of the summer.

At The Wine Bar, my family and I have had been the best experience! They were the most genuine, spontaneous, lovely people I have ever met. The have the best food and people you have ever met in Saratoga! Not to mention, the best food! I legit licked my plate clean. 20/10 recommend

We were underwhelmed by our experience here. We came in on a busy night admittedly, but it did not seem like there was enough staff. The wait for food and even drinks seemed long. When the food came, it was enjoyable. The wine list is extensive. The mushroom dish was especially good. We did not realize that indoor smoking was allowed in the cigar area, which isn't far from the rest of the place.

Google
The wine bar is a very nice looking bar and eatery. Staff is very friendly and accommodating, and service was fast. $9 beer out of a can is a bit steep however, and my $9 fries looked and tasted like snack bar fries from your local baseball game. Scallops were decent, but only 2 scallops for $22 (during happy hour) again, felt steep and unwarranted. Wine selection is great and the staff is quite knowledgeable. Cocktails are quite good too. Just don’t come here for the food. (Yes that plate of fries was actually $9!!)

Google
I have not had a single good experience here. Like someone else said, the restaurant smells gross. The service is miserable- it’s not the timing but the attitude of the people who work here. It’s definitely over priced for what you’re getting and there’s been a long understanding that the owners are terrible to their employees. there’s so many good places in Saratoga- you can skip this one.

Google
What a wonderful experience we had this past Saturday night! We were seated downstairs so we could listen to the piano (a friend of ours was playing). Loved the ambiance. Unfortunately, neither the husband nor I drink, so I cannot speak to the wine selection. However, the food was delicious. We split a bowl of soup (broccoli cheddar), the burger and fries, and a beef tenderloin with potato puree and broccolini. Both entrees came out at the temperature we asked and were cooked and seasoned perfectly. Each of us ordered a dessert - him, the angel food cake and for me, the flourless chocolate torte. Both delicious and highly recommended. If you are looking for a nice night out and delicious food, head here.

Google
This place smells like an ash tray. They allow indoor smoking in the side room, and it permeates throughout the whole place. Avoid unless you want to smell like the fire pit bowels of hell when you leave. I was visiting for the weekend and now have to put my evening clothes in a separate bag to take home for fear of contaminating all my luggage. The place is cute. The wine is superb. The service is excellent. But why they allow indoor smoking is beyond me. And I thought it violates the New York Smoke Free Air Act, but I’m not a lawyer. Perhaps they found a loophole. Anyway. Unless you’re a smoker yourself, avoid this place to save yourself from dying of second-hand smoke.

Yelp
Cozy little wine bar on the main strip. Nice choice of wines - menu looked good and I wish we had eaten here instead of the place we had reservations for. Service was excellent!

Yelp
Ooooh so this is where the middle aged singles come to be seen, hangout and drink wine! We had fun, bartender was great and fast, drink menu was awesome.

Yelp
I walked into The Wine Bar by myself, and if you have done this, you know how much of a difference it makes to have the bartender warmly greet you and make you feel welcomed. This did not happen, I essentially had a menu pushed towards me in an off putting way. This place does not have good energy. I chose to leave and go to The Merc and I had a much better experience.

Yelp
Strolling through Saratoga confused what to choose from and we walk in to this place as there was no wait time. No wait time doesn't mean they don't have good food. We ordered soup of the day (Smoked chicken chowder), crab cakes and grilled salmon. The food was consistent and good. My rating of 4 was totally based on food. The food. Like I mentioned earlier was good but I have had the same better elsewhere. The service and ambience are great and would rate it a 5 star. They have a great selection of wines to choose from. This place is good for every occasion and a heaven for someone who loves wine.

Yelp
If you like a cozy little place with elevated prices, this is it. Happy hour menu is a bit under defined. Just a few wines and one beer (a bottled light). Just going for an appy ($7 for warm olives), so no comments on food. Nice and pleasant service 4 stars for Alex.

Yelp
Love this bar/restaurant, met the owners and they are amazing people. Melissa and Barbara were so welcoming, knowledgeable of the wines and attentive. Loved hearing the history of the establishment. The wines are excellent and the food is so delicious!! Best calamari I've ever had!!! I highly recommend this establishment! I will frequent. Thank you for such an amazing experience!!!

Yelp
The wine bar is a cool spot right on the main drag in Saratoga Springs. We stopped in early afternoon on a weekend before the track let out and the craziness started. Had several glasses of wine outside with the warm olives and cheese / charcuterie board and people watched. It was a great afternoon! Definitely this place should be checked out!

Kevin S.

Yelp
Nice spot for a few unique wines or nightcaps. I recommend sitting outside, not only to people watch, but the avoid the smoke from the "lounge "; not missing much since the interior is worn and outdated. Its marketing portrays itself as posh, however, the dress code is less than business casual. FOH Team is friendly, but the quality can vary. Prices seem reasonable. Meh.

Yelp
What a cool place with a great vibe. Stopped in for Happy Hour and enjoyed sitting at the bar on a warm day! Bartender was very accommodating and friendly.

Yelp
The service is dog piss , had reservations for 7:30 and didn't get food till after 9. With a actual dog walking in the restaurant

Jack J.

Yelp
$20 for old fashioned with Makers? Makers is a middle cost bourbon. As well, it came in a glass full of ice,.. like a margarita would be served. Pls pls pls serve with one solid ice cube. Didn't realize I was paying nyc prices in Saratoga.

Yelp
Had such an incredible dinner here last night. Great, well-priced wine list. Halibut and duck were awesome. Definitely going back soon.

Jacqueline D.

Yelp
We should have gone to Pennell's, where great-tasting food is served in adequate portions and comes with a delicious salad and really good bread with garlic-herb butter, and noise levels are usually tolerable. But we were entertaining visiting friends and wanted to walk downtown, and the food reviews for this place were pretty good. But what a disappointment! Expensive but meagre portions with no accompaniments (the ratatouille was about the size of a deck of cards and that was IT for nearly $30, no pasta, no bread), but the worst thing was the noise level. We had hoped to have wonderful conversation with these old friends, but could hardly hear each other without shouting. Then a band set up right next to our table to start blaring over any conversation. We we got out of there as soon as we could pay the enormous bill for a truly lousy experience.

Yelp
The perfect place for a glass of wine, who would have thought? The truth is, I was sold as soon as I saw people sipping glasses of wine at the smattering of tables out front. I'm easy to please. Tell me a place calls itself The Wine Bar and I'm going to spend money there. They have a decent happy hour even on Saturdays, by the way, with discounted small plates. Being that in New York we now have to order food when drinking, this is appreciated. The olives are served warm and topped with goat cheese, so if you're not eating dairy, be aware. Lovely, sparkling atmosphere. We were there during a more quiet hour, which I'm totally OK with, but don't worry, tables are spaced well apart and you won't be on top of each other when it's busy. The bar itself is also quite inviting. And everyone who works here is so nice and attentive. We were asked if everything was OK quite often (but it was never overbearing). I have good feelings about The Wine Bar and I think you will, too.

Brittany C.

Yelp
The experience was truly terrible. We asked for espresso martinis and at the time the staff had misplaced the key for the liquor room and did not have the proper supplies in order to make the cocktails. Instead of explaining that, we received drinks that were awful due to being "pieced" together with substitute ingredients. We could tell the staff was overwhelmed at that moment, so we said we would order something else but they insisted they could make it better. Second time around was not better. Additionally, the smell of smoke from people smoking indoors was so overwhelming that it could've ruined the experience alone. I am very patient and always give a second chance but this was not acceptable.

Yelp
Stopped In for happy hour- and was extremely underwhelmed. The table essentially stuck to the happy hour menu- so that was on us, but we had hoped the wine would be amazing and temp us to explore beyond that menu. We did a red, Chardonnay and a bubbly rose from the happy hour as well as the Baguette and warm olives- again happy hour special $5, but was 3, let me stress this again 3 half slices of a baguette and some olives (olive size was what was expected) but we expected some bread... esp when the several places we appetizer hopped around to around them gave out more for free!!! They have so much potential, but really was a let down- I get it nothing is free and it's a tough world, but it was pathetic the 3 pieces- I could get over bad special wines- but really want worth the money or time when in Saratoga. The positives- great location, indoor and outdoor seating- and no crowds when we went.

Yelp
Not a good experience - my fiancee and I spend a lot of money on restaurants every month. We will never go back to the Wine Bar. 1. We set a reservation, and arrived early. We were asked to pick a table - we did right by the window. 2. We ordered drinks. I ordered an old fashion. The drink came filled to the top with soda. Clearly the bar tender didn't know how to make an old fashion. I didn't send it back as I don't like to do that 3. My fiancee and I ordered. She ordered halibut - it arrived over done and barely edible (my opinion). I ordered Duck - Medium Rare. The only way to eat duck. I love a great Duck. It arrived medium well. No pink. Reluctantly I asked to have them take it back. 4. I heard the owner say while seated at the bar, in front of everyone in the restaurant - that is 'medium'. NOT the case. Very embarrassing. 5. Then her staff comes over and says we need you to move tables. Our DJ has to set up. I was furious. But kept my composure thanks to my Fiancee. The staff suggested because we are having the duck re-cooked this was causing a delay and that is why they needed us to move. They blamed it on us - I felt embarrassed and angry. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. Then this staff person helps move plates and keeps the silverware we had been using versus giving us new. We were in the middle of my fiancee eating. 6. The new duck shows up and this time it is medium - NOT medium rare. I ate two pieces and put my napkin on the plate. The owner came over to apologize and asked if the 2nd plate was better - I said it is not medium rare. Then she left. 7. The bill came --- she did nothing to 'make it right'. I still tipped 20% because the waiter did a really nice job recovering for her and her staff. 8. We will never go back to this place. I'll be sure to tell my huge network about this experience.

Yelp
Absolutely NOT! With COVID on the rise and almost every area hospital FULL and without ICU beds, in this small establishment in close quarters, absolutely NONE of the staff were wearing masks and in fact told us upon entering, 'you don't need those in here'...as if it's some positive reprieve not to try and protect your customers. I will never go back nor support a business so proud of not keeping their customers and staff safe. Hope they wash their hands judging by the bathrooms there's not much clean in that place. Gross.

Yelp
This place was very nice inside. They had a nice selection of wines and cocktails. We didn't stay long, as the bartender was a bit pretentious, passive aggressive and boring, but with the right bartender it could be a great place.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite places! We go almost every week. I'm new to wine and the selection is great. Such yummy food too! My partner and I are here almost every week.

Yelp
Smoking section? Disappointed to say that this small indoor bar has a smoking section. After arriving and being greeted by a very nice bartender, I sat and ordered a few appetizers and a glass of wine. She couldn't have been nicer. Smelling cigarettes I looked around and saw a very small sign on an adjacent space - "Smoking Section." I politely moved to other side of the room. But the smell was pervasive. My dinner was lackluster, but I didn't finish my wine and left because of the smell. If there was a sign outdoors saying Smoking permitted, I missed it. If there isn't one, there should be.

Yelp
Had dinner June 2024. Service was great and server very friendly. Menu looked amazing and willing to pay the higher prices for a great meal. Food quality was very disappointing. Caprese salad to start: tomatoes were a pale pink, something I'd expect in a fast food burger. Halibut entree: fish was bland but well cooked, not dry. But lacked seasoning. I could have done the same myself at home. It was served stop grilled asparagus, and the asparagus was not at all fresh. Limp, yellow, and woody. I love asparagus and get far better quality in my local grocery store. Venison entree: boring, bland. Again served on asparagus that was not fresh. I really wanted to love this meal, it was a great location and atmosphere. But for the price, the food quality was not up to par. I would not go back. Especially in upstate NY, the vegetables should have been amazing. Should be using fresh local ingredients, plenty of those available in mid June (peas, greens, etc).

Yelp
Stopped in at this place for a drink. We had a group of eight. We asked before being seated if this was going to be an issue. We were told no not at all. But we had to be out in an hour for a 6:30 seating. We said no problem. The drinks didn't come out for a half hour. Our waitress was trying her best to be accommodating, but the waiter and the owner were being nothing less than rude. If they "wanted us out" as we overheard them say, they should have not bothered seating us. There are plenty of other places we could have gone.

Yelp
We were originally going to Seneca restaurant but had no reservation on a Thursday night and didn't want to wait two hours. We were pleasantly surprised to find there was no wait for The Wine Cellar. Unfortunately, we found out why. We should have read the reviews first. It is really a nice place visually and our waitress was very friendly. My rack of lamb came with about 5 pieces however, they lacked taste, not hot and were overcooked. The potatoes were tasty. I had ordered medium rare chops but they were well done and tough to eat. To make things worse they were $40. I called the waitress over and she confirmed I had ordered medium rare but agreed these chops were well done. I had already eaten a couple so did not ask for new ones. My wife's salmon was also overcooked and very dry. The waitress said she would inform the cook, but nothing more was said about them, not even an apology. We will not eat here again.

Yelp
From the area and have always LOVED The Wine Bar. I might be a little biased since my husband recently became the Head Chef. He recreated the menu and I had the pleasure of eating here last night. It's been awhile, let me tell you IT WAS DELICIOUS !!!!! I got the rack of lamb for my entree it was amazing!!! Service is on point and soo friendly!!!

Yelp
We had our rehearsal dinner at The Wine Bar last week and while the meal was good and wait-staff lovely, Melissa, the events manager was unfortunately unpleasant and difficult to work with leading up to and during the event. We had been in touch with her since June about planning our rehearsal dinner and she would take a week or more to respond to emails and consistently treated the event like an inconvenience or afterthought. When my wife did interact with her on the phone she was curt and had an attitude -- at one point resentfully saying, "Well, you finally got me. What can I do for you?" We were apprehensive to go ahead with the event given this less-than-ideal lead up, but the price point was good and we hoped that our expectations would be exceeded and all would be forgiven. But when we got there, Melissa informed us that the floor plan and eating arrangement we had previously set would be different: buffet style instead of family style and a large table with a strange floating table-for-two separate from everyone. It was so jarring to arrive to what was supposed to be a relaxing, joyful event and be met with such unexpected, needless changes. We requested to go back to our initial agreement: family style -- as buffet style would, of course, ruin the flow of speeches, etc. She acquiesced, but again, with attitude. She seemingly didn't have any interest in creating an experience or curating a special event. She seemed put out by us wanting to patron their establishment. My wife and I have worked in restaurants in NYC for years. We understand the toll that Covid has taken and how service-industry personnel are stretched thin and feel under-valued. However, there is a line to being understanding when presented with poor service... especially when someone seems just outright rude. When we left, it seemed the establishment was fairly empty and it made it all the more disappointing and frustrating that we seemed to be a burden on them. In any case, we wish the best of the establishment and only hope that they get better and manage future events with the attention and care they deserve. This was such a meaningful event for us, we had hoped it would be to them as well.
google avatar

Kandis P.

Yelp
The Wine Bar represents exactly what Saratoga is...Classic, Sophisticated and inviting. The smoking lounge was especially unique and welcoming. With so many selections of wines to choose from, Melissa guides you to exactly what you're looking for. That would have been great enough, but then the food-absolutely outstanding!!!
google avatar

Kate M.

Yelp
Start to finish, our dinner was just a terrible experience. We waited 10-15 minutes before our waitress even greeted us. She was a very close talker (not ideal during a global pandemic) and the food took an eternity to come out, only to arrive cold. Some bullet points: -rack of lamb were child sized and tough -carrots were good but nearly still raw -potatoes were dry and under seasoned -scallops were over cooked -risotto was under cooked Also the restaurant was very cold, I found that I was bracing myself for a fresh breeze every time someone entered or exited the restaurant. If you're coming for the wine, we did have a good bottle but I didn't think the selection was extensive for a wine bar.

Yelp
If you happen to wandering down Broadway street and you're thinking... Hmmm... where can I get a lovely, quiet glass of wine.... This is the place. Or at least it was when we were there on Thursday before Labor Day. It was almost 5pm when we sauntered in. Had the whole bar and restaurant to ourselves for a short time so we got to chat with our lovely bartender for a bit. They have a great by the taste, by the glass or by the bottle selection of wines! They will even put together a flight for you if you tell them what you are thinking of or what you like. We did things a bit backwards. We started with a glass of wine each and then while perusing the wine list and food menu... we ordered a flight sampler to go with the "snacks" we ordered. hahahaa! I really dug the French Rose. I'm not normally a French wine person nor a Rose type person but this was a lovely, light, easy-drinking, afternoon wine. Plus, it went with our charcuterie plate and salmon plate we ordered. Inside is intimate with dark woods and a bar in the middle of the room to kind of break things up. It seems as though it is a converted home and where the main dining and bar are is where the main parlor or entertaining room might be. This place is a little ... how should I say... unassuming? You could easily walk by it and not know it was there. Please... don't just walk by... turn around the find it and enjoy a lovely glass of wine. (Note.... it's actually across the street from the lively Cantina.)

Yelp
Surprisingly after living in Saratoga for several years this was my first time at The Wine Bar on Broadway and I was not disappointed. I was flying solo late at night so I figured it was a great opportunity to check another downtown restaurant off my list. The atmosphere is GREAT. Small quaint atmosphere is perfect for either a first date or a 100th date night. Not OVERLY romantic so no pressure. They even have a room designed for relaxing and smoking cigars! I'm planning on making this my new after work stop. Very extensive wine list takes up about 8 pages, fitting for a place called The Wine Bar. I decided to go off track and test their full bar capabilities by trying out the Wine Bar Mule, as a variation of my go-to beverage. The food menu was tailored perfectly with only a front and back page offering, with everything from pizza, cheeses, to scallops. Great options no matter what the mood. I played it low key, landing on the Sausage Pizza with a Simple Salad. The food arrived VERY quickly and had excellent flavor for such simple dishes. Overall, Wine Bar is right up my alley of smaller spaces serving high quality food and drinks with an upscale but casual environment. If you're seeking your next date night spot, I recommend checking out, will not disappoint.

Yelp
5 star service from beginning to end! My fiancé and I held a small engagement party at The Wine Bar and could not be happier with the entire night. Everything was fantastic from the food to the service. The entire team went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing night! Thank you! We will be back!

Yelp
This dinner reservation was complete and utter chaos. The restaurant was less than half capacity so I can't understand how the servers and managers were so overwhelmed. No water in the table or asked if we would like, no cutlery, the dishes came at different times & we had to wait for cutlery - the beef tenderloin was so tiny for the price & the salmon came with salty risotto that was barely edible, This place has huge potential under proper management & a different menu

Jasper M.

Yelp
Great location with outdoor seating. The indoor smoking lounge is unique. They have a ventilation system that exhausts the smoke. They offer cigars for sale. Live music when it's hosted is great. Andy Iorio, a pianist, was there recently and was magnificent. Great wine selection and attentive staff. Plates are portioned conservatively. Not many other places offer venison. Nice place to stop by to eat, drink, smoke, relax, chat, or people watch. Downstairs dining room with piano and its own restroom offers more private space for events.

Yelp
We (four of us) had dinner on Friday night. Place was a bit busy. I was told one of the waiters were sent home because it was slow. Thinking they should have kept him on. Service was terrible. Food not so great either. We ordered Duck, Foie Gras Lobster and steak. Here is our review for each. Steak, so rare it was COLD. Server never asked how we wanted it cooked. Duck, so much fat, we could barely eat it. Lobster was a tail, not cut so I could get it to eat, We cut it open with a butter knife. Usually tail meat pops right out. It did not. Don't think it was cooked properly. Foie gras was not what we expected at all. It was just a piece of liver not cooked properly. The WORST part was the server never came to check on us when she dropped our food so there was nothing we could do. When she FINALLY came back, we told her about the food which was barely eaten and she just said they were busy. When we asked to speak to the owner, (who happened to walk by us!) she said the owner was busy and could not speak to us. Coward I say. Nothing was done for us to make us happy customers. NOTHING. Not a drink, not a discount and the owner could not bother to come over. I will not be going back again.

Diana B.

Yelp
Stopped in for cocktails and a glass of wine for our party of 4. Service was fair and the cigar smell was stronger than it should be. When we paid the bill ($65) we placed $100 in the bill folder. 10 minutes later our server asked if we wanted a receipt...we said we would prefer the change! He definitely was not going to give us the change until we asked. Way too presumptuous on his part.

Denise G.

Yelp
The bartender did NOT ask me, the brunette that seated me did. It is why I thought she was the hostess. She is also the one to bring me silverware & a napkin. because the bartender did not do that, either.

Linda F.

Yelp
Came here after dinner for a night cap. Great service, friendly staff, great ambiance. Loved the separate smoking room where we enjoyed a cigar without impacting other patrons with the smoke. Truly something for everyone! Highly recommend!!!

Yelp
I had originally wanted to try the wine tasting at the 'Thirsty Owl.' Unfortunately, they were all booked, so I ended up here. It turned out better because I was able to have a more comfortable seat at a table. There wasn't a wine tasting menu here but they did have a selection of wines with smaller tasting servings. It was very comfortable there, I ended ordering a glass of one of their riesling and a couple of appetizers. Overall a nice place to hang for a few hours and enjoy some wine.

Colleen C.

Yelp
Great location, always friendly staff and very nice visually. Those are the good points. Yes, the wine list is extensive, but the temperature of the wine is always off. Red wine served too warm, and white wine served too cold. This is a WINE BAR...getting the temperature right should be core to their business. As for food, it's mediocre at best. I've been coming here for several years now and always leave spending too much money and disappointed with the wine and the food.

Yelp
Took a group of almost 40 women and sat us in the upstairs bar area and we orders multiple bottles, glasses and pizzas. The pizzas were fantastic the bartenders were really nice and even extremely reactive to notify us when we ordered the last of bottles

Yelp
Looks Great, Mediocre Experience This place has been a roller coaster over the years, occasionally very good, but often mediocre, and sometimes lower. It's a shame, because it's a great space, and when the staff and food and wine match, it's an excellent experience. Unfortunately, that's not the case now. The hostess was nice, but halfway through our meal she checked out and sat with a friend. Very odd. Our waitress was frantic and inexperienced. The servers were clueless, often bringing us the wrong dishes meant for other tables, and once two waitresses were arguing OVER OUR HEADS that one gave us a dish meant for another -- "those mussels were mine," one said on a loud, irritated voice, right next to us. While we were eating them! The food was bland and salty and not very warm. Our waitress said, "our kitchen is having trouble heating up the food." SHE ACTUALLY SAID THAT. The mussels were warm, the sauce salty but bland. The lamb was bland and cool. The potatoes with raclette wasn't the crispy, hot potatoes with melty cheese all over them I was expecting, but a tiny mound of pale, cold potatoes with a slab of cheese over them, barely softened. Raclette is a cheese made for melting! The wine list is uninspired. It's a WINE BAR. It's their eponymous raison d'être! This place could be great. It just isn't, at this point. Far from it.

Yelp
Great wine selection, good selection of small and large plates and nice atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
Visited the Wine Bar last night. Was greeted and sat promptly. Decor was nice. Our server was polite and attentive during our meal. Drinks were good. When ordering your meal you have a choice between large and small portions. For me the large seemed small. Everyone in our party enjoy their meals. The seating was tight and the smoking room was very close to the dining area. Our overall experience was good but not great. If in the area again would definitely try again.

Yelp
If you find yourself in Saratoga Springs, go to the Wine Bar. It's amazing. They have small and large entree sizes, which I wish Maine did. We started with the Wild Mushroom Crostada which was the perfect start to this meal. It was light yet full of flavor. For my entree I got the small scallops & lemon risotto and it was delicious! My SO got the beef tenderloin and loved it. We sat outside on the little patio & people watched. I highly recommend The Wine Bar!

Yelp
Not impressed. We were seated in the lounge downstairs which had a faint smell of a basement and an jarring echoing live piano player. It took 15 minutes for us to get our drink order in when we were ready to order in 5. She stopped to give us water, but hurried away before we could order drinks. No bread for the table. When we inquired about bread they said "We used to give out bread, but we ran out" Drinks were served at a reasonable length of time after ordering. The wine was quite good. We waited another 15 minutes for the appetizer. It was hard to ignore the hunger pains with the loud obnoxious piano clambering in the background. We had the heirloom tomato app. It was very underwhelming. Flavored erratically with salt, mint, and tiny dollop or lebnah cheese. Was expecting it to be a more of a bruschetta app but was presented as a salad. Guess they really did run out of bread.... Holy half portions! We ordered the Moroccan Chicken, Salmon, Scallops, & Beef tenderloin. The salmon was a reasonable half size portion. However all the other portions were smaller than appetizer portions, but had the price tag of a full size entree. This price and portion took away from the enjoyment of the meal. Although that piano was also doing its damage as well... With so many more enjoyable dining options in Saratoga we will not be dining here again!

Yelp
We had a 6:30 reservation for four last night. Received a call about 2pm from the hostess informing me one chef had a family ER and there would be four items excluded from the menu and no specials..did we still want to come? Yes, we went. Ordered two filets and two Chilean sea bass. There were two other apps excluded from the menu. One filet was forgotten so they gave him a crab cake as he waited. The waitress had suggested we put our order in quick because a party of 30 was coming. We were glad she offered that. The mens room was out of order but could we use the one downstairs where that party of 30 was. So does our visit warrant 5 stars? Yes it does...because first and most important, the food was phenomenal, amazing, delicious! 2nd, that was done with the kitchen down a chef. 3rd, the staff was attentive and apologetic. They gave our friend a crab cake and $15 off the bill. 4th, the atmosphere just had a good all around vibe. You could tell all the patrons were enjoying themselves and it was obvious all the staff got along and pitched in anywhere needed outside their own tables. We enjoyed our visit very much and will definitely come back. High praise for the staff and management!

Yelp
We came upon The Wine Bar this past weekend while strolling around town in search of a place to eat. We hadn't made a reservation for dinner anywhere and most restaurants were not taking "walk ins". Turns out this place was a hidden gem for us. We got two seats at the bar and thoroughly enjoyed our pre-concert dinner. I can't comment on the wine since we had cocktails instead. We shared three appetizers and they were all awesome. Caesar Salad with chicken with a perfect amount of dressing, cheese and meat board was interesting, fresh and delicious. The pizza was a great choice for us as well. The bartender was attentive and friendly. We had an all around great time. I would definitely go back!

Yelp
If you have a choice between hanging at the Saratoga vineyard and going here, blow off the vineyard. The wine here is quality and it is amazing-- they have tastings and at least you won't be drinking mediocre NY state reds. If you like Rose-- The Wine Bar's are amazing.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place but just had a really weird experience. We made reservations and showed up maybe 10 minutes early. Told the hostess we were early but she said she could seat us right away and there was a open 2 seater upstairs. The hostess said that they were starting seating in the downstairs though and brought us there. We were the first people (and only apparently) that were sat down there. There wasn't any music playing so you could hear the clattering of the dishes and the laundry going. We asked them to put on music which they did promptly. The wine we picked was fine and the charcuterie had a great variety and the chocolate cake was good but pretty small (recommend one dessert per person, don't share it). The food and service was 4 stars. The service was great and they didn't forget about us. The only reason this review isn't 4 stars is because of being sat downstairs when literally nobody else was sat down there for the entire time we were there. It was a date night and we planned on having a nice dinner and a few bottles of wine but the vibe was so awful and made us feel awkward being so alone in the basement that all we got was an app and dessert and it sort of ruined our date.
