"The Wine Press, a Brookline liquor store that has been around for decades, is expanding to the Pierce building as well, slated for a summer opening, owners Aaron and Jyoti Mehta announced yesterday. They’ve owned the shop since 2011 and will continue to focus on wines as well as a selection of beer and spirits at their forthcoming second location." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

Google
This is a clean place with a good variety of wines, especially biodynamic and unfiltered types. Friendly employees. Though I did notice a few items that were a few dollars more than I've seen elsewhere, the majority of the prices didn't seem out of the ordinary. Overall, a nice little neighborhood shop.

Google
Great selection of interesting wines with very knowledgeable staff. They even had a free tasting when I popped in! Highly recommended

Google
They have a well-chosen selection of liquor, beer, ciders, and wine in my opinion. They also offer the mixers you'd want and a quality selection of small eats, fish, and meat. I had a great cheddar cheese from here once! (Local). The staff is kind & helpful- would recommend.

Google
Not the best beer selection, but to be fair the place is The Wine Press. Even if the beer selection is small, they do have some unique beers. They also have a great selection of charcuterie-esque take home items so that's great. The best thing tho is Wine Press sells Buenas Empanadas so those were great to bring home, it beats heading all the way to Bow Market.

Google
I come here basically once a week to get beer for a work function, and it's always a pleasure. Sure, there could be more beer, but considering the size of the place and the fact that they dedicate so much inventory to wine, I'd say the selection of beer is great. There's lots of locals, the ones everyone's heard of, and ones that nobody's heard of. The staff is always friendly and chatty, and they all seem quite knowledgeable on the subject of beers, wines, and spirits. If I lived closer I would definitely come here for my liquor and beer needs.

Google
I am so pleased and im"pressed" with my experience! I found Wine Press through a Google search for wine places that delivered in Brookline because I was getting a gift for a friend (I do not live in MA). I ordered online, called the store to confirm delivery, and gave them my friend's number to contact her for the delivery (it was a surprise gift). She got the wine within an hour of my order and she sent me a picture of the handwritten note that came with it! I also got a confirmation email after it was delivered. Great job, Wine Press!

Google
Great selection of beer wine and liquor. Prices are fair. The owners are seriously lovely people, and always eager to help when asked. Always good to support a local, well-priced, non-chain liquor store, few and far between these days.

Google
This Liquor/Wine Store has a tremendous selection of beverages to choose from. Very classy stuff and fair prices. Must be the new management because the cashiers and attendants are very friendly and helpful. Whenever I'm in the area I always pick up a bottle of something new.

Yelp
My brother sent me here on an errand to find 4 to 6 fall beers for a dinner this evening. Colin, one of the workers there, quickly had some great recommendations. Some of them he was out of upcfront, but he was kind enough to go back and break up some six packs so we would have them. He had to code in a couple while we were there, but I was in no hurry so that was nice of him.

Yelp
My bf and I were in town for the weekend to celebrate my bday. We were just looking for a small bottle of wine to celebrate and had our eyes on a bottle; however didn't have any wine openers. Thankfully when I approached a staff (I didn't catch his name) about it, he understood my dilemma immediately and saved us from buying a canned wine (not sure if these are good or not). He gave us a free corkscrew that we could just leave behind in our hotel without any worries. In my opinion, this was excellent service and greatly appreciated as a tourist. He could have easily just told us "too bad, just buy one" or something similar, but he didn't do that and even helped us without hesitating for even a second! This store seems like a friendly neighborhood local favorite. Although COVID is still impacting all businesses, this store still had quite a few customers and everyone left with smiles on their faces. Thanks for welcoming us to your city!

Yelp
Jordan & Isse the 2 Man Show tonight was very friendly & helpful. I was in high need of a post road trip extended by 2 hours VINO, I found this libation location while I was waiting for my food. Asked Jordan for the Santa Julia Malbec, he told me it didn't ring a bell, but he would check the computerized inventory & let me me know for sure...no cigars. His eagerness to assist had us at the Malbec section, offering me some other options. Disclosure: I didn't want to purchase a wine opener & have to deal with the all so friendly folks at TSA on my way home. Hence, he found me a bottle of Zolo that had a screw off top & I was good to go. Well, had to get a bottle of Pink Moscato for the WomanBaby....gross, it smells & taste like cough syrup! Although for a "college town" wine store that offers beer, snacks & fine liquor, it has a pretty nice selection of almost anything you can think of for your preferred choice of cocktail consumption. Even their bag is pretty hip...brown paper style, who needs to purchase a gift bag. Now that my visits to BU has been extended, I got a nice joint to cop my Vino preferences, making my travels even better.

Yelp
Great selection of beer, wine, and spirits at all price ranges; super friendly local store

Alex V.

Yelp
What a great local store! If you love wine, or want to try something more than just Barefoot, this is the place to begin to explore, for a reasonable cost. The shop is easy to get to and can is a quick stop for anyone on the Green C line - but don't let the friendly service and great selection make you late! The husband and wife owners are the Absolut (pun intended) best. They are kind and very helpful when looking for beer, wine, or spirits. The manager Jordan though, it would be hard to find a better wine aficionado than him. When looking for a local place to buy the drinks your heart desires, this is without a doubt the one. They are really a fixture in the neighborhood and it's my place to go for Labatt Blue, spiked egg nog, or a fine Beaujolais or Galician wine.

Jesse W.

Yelp
Exceptional interesting spirit selection, great world wines, ask for owner Aaron and he'll help you find something great!!!

Yelp
It's unfortunate that I have to write this review, but after my recent experience at Wine Press tonight I see no other option. As I was walking back from dinner with two friends, we passed by your establishment and they decided to stop by to grab some beer. We all entered and headed to the beer fridge straight down from the entrance, where I opened my phone and checked the Boston University app to determine when the Shuttle would pass by so I could take it back home. Due to the speed of the internet, the app took some time to update. Meanwhile my friends headed down to the register with their beer, and I made my way there slowly while looking at my phone. Before I even reached the register, I could hear your employee suddenly yelling to me in an angry tone, completely unwarranted, from behind the counter to show him my ID. I was genuinely startled by the tone of his request. When I made it to the register, I told him that I was occupied checking the departure time of the BU Shuttle, but I showed him my ID despite doing no business there. He condescendingly told me that I needed to be 21 or above to enter a liquor store, but I replied that as he could tell from my ID, I was well above that age limit. He then continued to "educate" me on how some liquor stores even card you before you enter, but I still do not understand what he was trying to achieve by that. Despite being disappointed by how I was treated, I didn't put too much thought into it. And frankly, if it stopped there, I wouldn't be writing this review right now. However, as my friends finished checking out and was handed their bag, your employee looked at the three of us, raised his hands to about chest level, and said "I wish YOU TWO have a great night", turning and pointing to my friends. At this point, I was beyond surprised that someone in retail would treat customers like that. Your employee then turned and walked away, at the same time me and my friends starting heading out of your store. Since the time I used to live just a few minutes down the street, I have been a frequent customer at Wine Press. Due to the convenience and selection, I have always checked your store before anyone else. I have never had any issues with the otherwise polite and helpful staff, and it therefore saddens me that I am writing this review today. Because of the unprofessional childish treatment I got from your employee, I will not be visiting your establishment again. I recommend the management look into this incident, as the person who was working there today is not fit to interact with customers. I visited about 10:30pm on Friday, April 18th. There were two employees in the store at the time, the one I am referring to was the younger of the two.

Sam C.

Yelp
I'm not sure who loves the Wine Press more, myself or my dog. (They give out treats!) Staff is always super nice and helpful and they have an outstanding assortment of beers and wines for a local store. Grateful to have these guys just down the street!

Brooke W.

Yelp
Amazing wine shop where the employees get to know you and are excited to give recommendations based on your taste. One employee in particular, Jordan, who displays his recent favorite wines on a rack, is the reason I keep coming back. Even though I have a wine shop only a few blocks from home, I drive to the Wine Press because I know Jordan will eagerly help me choose 6 or 12 bottles from their huge selection -- including new wines to try. Much better than buying the same bottles over and over or staring at the wall for half an hour! To boot, he will then carry the wine to my car. Best wine shop around.

Cara P.

Yelp
OMG! These reviews HAVE to be a joke. Or spelp. This is so not right. This is the first time I have actually read reviews and thought I was reading entries for a completely different store. This is one of the best wine stores I have been to. They ALWAYS have sales and many times they have %50 off. I love when I can buy a $30 bottle of wine for $15 clams. I come here at least 2x a week and am a happy camper. The employees here are so sweet. I will say the manager probably DOES have an attitude when little BU brats come in here and buy their liquor while gabbing not stop on the phone and not even acknowledging her presence. Get where I am going with this?

Gmarie F.

Yelp
The Wine Press is really a tale of two stores. The previous management bought wine from close out sales; the wine was often "corked," sour and had seen better days and years. My thought is that the management looked at the demographics, that is, college students on budgets, and sold poor wine accordingly, looking at the store only as a moneymaker, with total disregard and no respect for the art of wine making nor the customers. But ahhhhhh! New life has been breathed into this wine shop by the new owner, Aaron, his father and mother. Aaron is studying to be a sommelier, knows his wines, and appreciates his new and growing clientele. He and his family have transformed this former cheap, closeout wine joint, to a fine wine and liquour store complete with fine cigars, brandies and champagne. The customer service is superlative, the wine array is broad and growing daily. Aaron is implementing educational tastings, complete with a brand new tasting table. Ask him for recommendations; he really listens to you and what kind of wine experience you'd like and comes up with the perfect wine. I am a difficult customer; I've lived in Paris and San Francisco and think I know quite a bit about wine; I do not know as much as I think I do, despite years of , um, "tasting!' What I do know is fine customer service and focus which The Wine Press gives without reserve, the new assortment of local craft beers is phenomenal, the store is no longer selling "off-brands" of dusty bottles better suited for putting on a salad as vinegar or clearing a clogged drain. The owners are gracious, respect wine, and respect their customers. The prices are more than fair and the atmosphere is gracious. My dog Gigi as well recommends WP; she gets a cookie each time we visit. If you've only experienced this store under previous kegger mentality management, you must return. The Wine Press, under new ownership, has grown, like a fine red wine, into a full and hearty and warm experience.

Yelp
The real deal in this store is the fast moving senior citizen who appears to have become a fixture in this establishment, either by ownership or by the kind and generous hearts of the young hipster staff. You really have to come up with some kind of maneuvering strategy when entering this store. #1 DO NOT BE DETECTED BY SENIOR STAFFER #2 IF YOU HAVE FAILED #1, READ BELOW #1 Appendix A: Congratulations, you now have 2.8 seconds to pivot a 180 out the store. Still thirsty? Well you best have quick reflexes since senior staffer has now managed to thrust a handle of Jim Bean's into your face with the words "here! you wanted this? no?! what did you want? I'll find it for you!" One day I was able to out-sprint senior staffer and grabbed a bottle of Sailor Jerry's. He retaliated by grabbing a different bottle, "You want rum? Here I'll give you a good rum, bacardi's!" I basically put my foot down and explained in a very stern manner that I knew what I wanted and did not want to be hassled. He simply gazed at me as if I told him The Lawrence Welk show had just been canceled. I'll always be baffled by the mystery of the senior staffer.

Yelp
Wow this is the type of place you walk into and the entire time you have a feeling that you are being had. And you are probably right. Number 1 thing I look for in a liquor store is price followed closely by selection. They have such high prices that it overrides their above average selection. There is a large selection of wine and beer which is where the pros end. The people who work there aren't particularly friendly, but once a guy told me I could bring my dog in the shop next time instead of tying him outside...guess that was nice. But what really gets me is the prices. They are ridiculous. You get all psyched that you picked out a good case of 12 beers. You walk up to the register and it is $20 at least. You probably are saying, well Alex, why didn't you just see the price before you walked up to the register. Great question. The answer is that they DON'T PUT PRICES ON WHAT THEY SELL. So it is not only really expensive but a big surprise when you get to the registrar that it is really expensive. Oh, and just so the people who work there aren't forced to explain why it is so expensive, they put up a sign next to the registrar blaming huge MA taxes for the prices. While this is true, they are still the most expensive place around.

Anne S.

Yelp
My favorite wine shop in the city! Excellent selection and AMAZING customer service. The kind and attentive staff has helped me discover some delicious wine including a rose that my friend dubbed "the magical rose." What's better? They have a super user friendly website and will deliver! Next time you're in Brookline, stop by the wine press!

Rani P.

Yelp
I was shocked that this place has such a low rating. From someone in the neighborhood and who has lived in several nearby neighborhoods- when it comes to buying good wine and good beer (none of the dirty water stuff) this place has some of the most reasonable prices around. But what wins me over, is the huge selection, and all of the little notes throughout the store that help you make a selection. They have grades for wines with details on the flavors and styles, and have Beer Advocate grades for all of their craft brews- a huge help when wanting to try something new. And then to top it all off, the staff is super friendly and has great sales. Yes, the hard liquor is a little pricey- but I'll go for fair prices of wine and beer any day. 9 times out of 10 I walk out of there with a great wine or beer that I would never have known to purchase- leave the guessing to the amateurs.

Melissa M.

Yelp
I'm not drinkin' but my fiance is. We went here tonight and it smelled like my youth. My Dad used to take me to a packie (that's liquor store to you little transplants) and well, he'd buy me a pretzel rod for five cents. Somedays, I'd hit the jackpot and I'd get a quarter to get FIVE pretzels. Ah, the memories. Well, this place smells just like that old packie in Waltham. Only this is on Beacon Street in very hoity-toity Brookline. The prices here are very very nice. The selection here is even nicer. If you have any interest in beer, wine, and spirits then you need to check the Wine Press out.

Benjamen S.

Yelp
I was very impressed with the Wine Press under its seemingly new management. When I went in, the kid behind the counter greeted me with a smile and then I noticed a guy walking around the store asking people if they need help selecting anything. Come to find out this was the new owner! What an incredible experience. He helped me pick out two red wines and two different bottles of Scotch. Oh yeah, the pricing has also improved over the owner of the past. What a selection too . . . there is a Scotch for which I have been searching for over 5 years, literally . . . THE WINE PRESS HAS IT!!!!!!!!!! In a nutshell: - Great Service - Great Selection - Great Prices Who could ask for more? They will have all my business going forward. Check them out under the new regime, you won't be upset.

K M.

Yelp
They always have my Newcastle, nice and cold, and they have a smaller but good selection of other beers and liquords as well. But mostly, the wines! Great selection and there are some great deals which you can find in their monthly newsletter -- I drank a really good $100 wine last week that I picked up there for $20 -- and it was very, very good. Plus, fine, I'll say it, they have the Bota Box. Mock me, fine, but Bota Box reds are amazing -- O, spigot of unending wine! While the red was a little hard to find over the autumn, I have managed to pick it up a couple times lately. Also, I like the staff. So yeah, I like this place. And the dogs that are occasionally inside are cute. Really cute.

Liza L.

Yelp
Me and my friend was at this establishment today. I only wanted to buy a sweet wine there. One of the staff, a white male was very knowledgeable about wines and helped me find what I needed. When I went to pay for the wine, a white female asked for our IDs and me and my friend gave them. She looked at mine, sneered at me with a disgusting look and told me that I needed to stand outside because my ID was expired and telling me to get out of the store. She kept repeating it that I need to stand outside, over and over again instead of having a conversation or explaining why. Me and my friend were puzzled because to buy alcohol depends on age, and on my ID its clear that I'm over 21. I did renew my licence but I hadn't gotten my new one yet since I'm from another state and I just wanted to buy wine with my friend and go home. However, the female cashier thought it was her duty to make a scene instead of being compatible with the customer. I have used my ID for the whole year that I have been in Boston and traveled with it to other states and no one has ever given me an issue ever. However, I think partly because I am a black customer, she was giving me a hard time, and thought that it was okay to act unprofessionally. Just because my ID is expired, doesn't mean that my age changes. It's not like I was doing any nefarious with the wine. I just wanted to go home after a long day with my friend, but she was telling me to stand outside like I'm some dog or animal and trying to intimidate me and bully me to leave. My friend and I were very confused since I have never had this happen to me ever and it was honestly embarrassing. I thought that this establishment had good customer service and staff. However that one cashier honestly changed my mind about the establishment. She didn't make an issue with my Asian friend or the white woman after us. So, if you are of a darker complexion or not white or Asian, I would skip this establishment and save your breath. Go spend your money else where because at least you won't be harassed by bitter, racist cashiers.

Alex S.

Yelp
This place is called the Wine Press, and it's in Brookline, so it's not exactly tailored to the keg-stand crowd. Their beer selection is small but diverse, and their liquor selection looks pretty standard, but their wine selection is probably the best in the area, especially if you're looking for some really good wine for under $20, and some very drinkable stuff in the vicinity of $10. They have a huge selection of Spanish reds that I've barely been able to find elsewhere (oh sweet, sweet Navarra), and a lot of their wines have helpful descriptions if you're not too well-versed in wines. Apparently the owner really knows what's up, but the dude behind the counter isn't nearly as helpful. If you do have keg stands in your future, try Marty's or Blanchard's in Allston, and if you want to chat for an hour about grapes, the staff at the Wine Gallery in Kenmore Square is on top of their game.

Ray N.

Yelp
Pros: Location, Close to BU Cons: The employees' attitudes suck! The store was fine, but the people who work there are complete jerks. (Honestly, I would use a stronger word to describe them, but I'll avoid that here). When I asked the cashier where I could find a specific priced wine, the manager (a middle-aged woman) who I did not even address answered me in a very snarky way and didn't even bother looking up from her reading to speak to me. When I was purchasing my wine, the cashier asked my friend if she needed help and she indicated that she was just waiting for me. SO AGAIN the manager/supervisor/store magazine reader butted in and told my friend "she could wait outside." Absolutely ridiculous and rude since we were the only ones in the store. It wasn't like she was in a single persons way. If this store wasn't so "convenient" they would go out of business because they have horrible attitudes toward customers!

Douglas G.

Yelp
The Wine Press is AWESOME! We live in Phoenix AZ, and wanted to send a gift box of wines to my brother for his Wedding in Boston, that we were unable to attend. We found the Wine Press on Yelp, called and spoke with the owner. He was extremely friendly and knowledgable. A beautiful gift box of wines was delivered as planned, and we were extremely satisfied!

Nichole B.

Yelp
This place is amazing, as are its staff and its owners. I began coming here when I moved to the neighborhood because it was convenient, but I've come to love this place so much that now I go for all of my spirits, wine, and mocktail needs (and sometimes just to say hello!). The perfect example of what a neighborhood business should be, plus they have a really great selection of wines and craft beers. If by chance they don't have what you're looking for, they're even happy to order it for you. And they have weekly wine and beer tastings! Couldn't ask for more!

Z G.

Yelp
Pretty crappy selection of wine; owner thinks he is some sort of connoisseur of lavish wine but he's just a loser and extremely fake. Over priced and trashy, i'd take my business somewhere else any day

Samuel B.

Yelp
I went in to the Wine Press on a recommendation from a friend. As a collector of smaller label wines I am always looking for a place to source them. Sadly in this day and age of super brand name conscious consumers this has become more and more difficult. When I walked in I was greeted by bin after bin of great values, small labels, and a knowledgeable sales staff. The prices were all excellent; even on the better known brands which they carry as well. They also have a very good selection of Scotch, Whiskey, and Bourbon. Overall I highly recommend this store. In an age of ever larger and larger liquor stores that value quantity over quality to the point where the staff have very little knowledge of individual products; the WIne Press stands out as the exception. I will be back!

Sabrina F.

Yelp
We worked with The Wine Press for the liquor ordering for our wedding - we had a venue where we could bring in outside liquor and we saved boat loads of money doing it this way! Jyoti and Aaron were a dream!!! Jyoti and and Aaron were incredibly responsive and their followup and communication was prompt and efficient. They really helped us craft and refine our bar menu, within a budget that worked for us. They delivered everything the day of (pre-chilled!!!) and picked up all that was remaining. the following day. Everything went off without a hitch! They are friendly, professional, know their craft and made THIS part of wedding/event planning a breeze! I really cannot recommend them enough!!!!

Dustin W.

Yelp
A friend told me about the "new" Wine Press and so I had to go in and I had to go in to see it for myself. If you had been to the "old" Wine Press, you understand my skepticism, but I was pleasantly surprised! Along with new management, it seems like the entire place got a facelift (from prices to customer service). It's like a whole new store. Where Wine Press used to be the packie to go to only out of desperation and convenience, it's now one worth going to even when it's a little out of my way. While it was once cringingly overpriced, the prices are now comparable to, if not better than, other local wine shops. On top of it, the staff is friendly and helpful, even offering me recommendations when I wasn't sure what to buy. In a city like Boston, a staff this welcoming and helpful is a rarity. From trash to treasure, the new Wine Press is quickly becoming a definite local favorite.

Alexander S.

Yelp
Love this store! Great selection of wines at $9.99+, the Loire valley sav is a complete steal! If you want excellent and personally tailored purchasing guidance Jordan has the best pallet and customer service around. The rest of the staff is also exceptionally welcoming. If I could give six stars I would.

Bradley W.

Yelp
Super helpful staff, great selection of wine. Smaller selection of beer, and liquors but still pretty good. Tons of variety for nips if you're trying to sneak alcohal somewhere.

Chintan P.

Yelp
The new owner is great, I've been there a few times now and the staff is very helpful. They carry a wide selection of wines and I'm always trying the new items the owner is bringing in. The Wine Press is a great bargain considering all the smaller mom and pop shops around the area. I'll definitely be heading back again!

Sean C.

Yelp
Love this local wine store in our neighborhood. Great selection, reasonable prices, friendly and helpful staff (I think on one particular occasion I was dealing with the owner Aaron). Also love how they are teaming w the new Whole Foods next door to offer wine and cheese pairings.

Alexandra E.

Yelp
I've gone in here a few times and it's generally overpriced, the staff is not too knowledgeable, and the selection's not great. I stopped going when the guy at the counter was flat-out rude to me when I asked a simple question. Just because they're on a college campus doesn't mean everyone's a freshmen trying to score a keg with a fake ID, though they seem to think that way. It's convenient but I'll be walking the extra few minutes to Trader Joes, Best Cellars, and Coolidge Corner Wine and Spirits from now on.

Lizzy S.

Yelp
I love this place so much. It's in a really great location and they have a fantastic selection, especially if wines. Everyone gives really good wine recommendations (everything that's been recommended to me has been delicious and a huge hit with people I know).

Billy D.

Yelp
I want to start off by saying the customer service is terrible. The tall white guy with the beard obviously has no working experience. Rude and unprofessional. Just because it's New Year's Eve and he was eager to leave, doesn't give him to rights to tell all the customers to hurry up with their choices. Overall, he needs to get a real job and learn to deal with people in his surroundings.

Alexis C.

Yelp
I was very impressed with the Wine Press. They are under new management which is why all the recent positive changes. The owner is always there with a smile and ready to help me with my selections. I always find what I am looking for there and the prices are lower than they were before! This place looks great and the service is excellent.

Marty H.

Yelp
You can go ahead and ignore the bad reviews that are a few years old. I've been going here for several years...much better place then it used to be. Respectable craft beer selection and pretty reasonable prices for the area.

Aakriti J.

Yelp
This place has a fairly good selection of wine and beers, though a bit on the pricier side, though I guess I expect nothing more from Brookline :'(

April I.

Yelp
Heavy on the wine and the beer, a little overpriced on the hard liquor, but convenient. The people behind the counter could move a little quicker and they need to get their credit card machine fixed. Meh...walk up the street to Coolidge Corner and you'll find better.

Jay S.

Yelp
Very helpful staff and you can tell the owners are passionate about what they do. Great selection of craft beer and red wines. They also do some pretty cool events that I've attended and each has been very informative. Not your typical wine shop. Highly recommend.

Tulsi P.

Yelp
The Wine Press has changed so much since the new owners have taken over (for the better)! The owners are so passionate about the products that they carry and the staff is friendly and very helpful! This store is especially great if you're not really sure what you're looking for because they will help you pick out great products for yourself and even for a gift. I highly recommend shopping at The Wine Press to others!

Dan R.

Yelp
This unfriendly package store would tax the taxes if they could. Most expensive packy around. $20+ for a 12 of Harpoon? Absurd. And God forbid you get in the "cash only" check out line. Made that mistake once and felt like i was standing on stage in my underpants by the way the 3 clerks behind the counter were looking at me.

Kristin L.

Yelp
The staff here is great! So nice and always give my BF and I great recommendations. This is our go-to liquor store. Good prices, great selection. Never a bad experience.

Jim S.

Yelp
I have gotten some wines here that weren't available elsewhere. It is a hit or miss enterprise; apparently the unusual/interesting wines are bin ends or hotel or restaurant ends, so there may be some doubts about storage history. The thing that bugs me about this place is the pricing. They routinely put a sticker on with a high price on it, then a mark-down price. This seems to happen immediately, i.e., the bottles were never offered at the supposed original price. This strikes me as a deliberate attempt to mislead the consumer. Sometimes the "sale" price is actually more than market price elsewhere, sometimes it is right on, sometimes it is actually a sale. My experience is that often the wines are worth the sales price, but not more, i.e., there are no bargains here. Long story short - if you are into wine, you may find some interesting things here - sort of like a curios shoppe.

Yelp
The staff here, particularly the owner, are great. Fun, good recommendations - always good for a bottle or six of something on the way home from work or on the way out.

Yelp
I have been coming here for about two years now and basically I love this place. The people working are awesome. Chill people, down to help you find what ever you need to make what ever you want. The selection is awesome. Pretty much anything you are looking for, you can find at the WP.

Yelp
I must say i was pleasantly surprised when I stopped into The Wine Press on Beacon Street this past week! Having been there before, I was shocked to see the complete transformation the store has undergone. Not only do you enter a sparkling clean store where someone greets you right away BUT the prices have actually been LOWERED! A once pricy, dirty liquor store has revamped itself in all the right ways. Great staff, Amazing prices and an outstanding inventory! This remarkable transformation must have come with new management, all I can say is that I will be frequenting The Wine Press for all of my beer and liquor needs!

Yelp
I like this place. It's the closest too me and a little expensive but it's fine. They have a little bit of everything which is perfect, it's all you need. I was a little annoyed on nye i had to work and called at 9 and was told they close in 72 minutes. So since I live about two minutes away i ran over to find the employee who i have seen working there before Leaving with his friends! It seemed like he closed after he hung up the phone with me. I understand it was nye but still, don't lie to me. I got out of work early and decided I wanted a little champagne and was disappointed that I couldn't.

Yelp
Honestly it is a great staff that has great prices. They just do not have as many wine coolers and separate canned choices as I would have wanted. But it is a very clean and reputable store. The staff is down to earth and laid back. The alcohol is priced competitively, I do not have many complaints with this store other than the fact they do not carry canned twisted teas which are my absolute favorite. It is in a great location with tons of on street and off street parking and one of the only liquor stores on that part of Beacon street. I go there probably two times a week and I am always greeted with a smile, I just hope they get more canned choices eventually.

Yelp
Cara P. You must have either had a much different experience or you are the counter girl at wine press. I go to wine press around 3 times a week and agree with the other reviews. The beer selection is small but diverse, however expensive. They have a few sales on beer which seem to never change. They have a great wine selection but not great enough to make up for the service. Would it kill them to smile? I am a younger customer and am definitely treated as such. They assume I am coming in for cheap 30 racks and have a fake ID. It is almost worth it to walk to Wine Cellar or the liquor store at coolidge corner next to boca grande. It is very similar to Wine Press. A little smaller but the staff is great! and always friendly. Never felt like I was being judged or treated different because of my age. Overall a store to use because of convenience but I cant imagine they have too many regulars that show any loyalty. below average store at best.
