Wölffer Estate Vineyards - Review - Sagaponack - Long Island - The Infatuation

"You’ve probably already had Wolffer Estate’s wine or ciders before, but it’s still worth making a trip to their beautiful vineyard or more laid-back wine stand boutique down the road. Wolffer’s location in the South Fork also makes it a great pit stop if you’re driving to or from the Hamptons, and their wines are similarly primed for summer, with selections like a Finca white that’s made for a night filled with clam pasta and a summery rosé that’s so floral and botanical it’ll remind you of your favorite gin. Their Spring In A Bottle sparkling rose is also non-alcoholic and doesn’t taste like juice (in a good way)." - Anne Cruz

How to Have the Perfect Day in the Hamptons, According to the Woman Behind the Iconic Wölffer Estate

"A casual, sunset-focused outdoor wine destination set among the vines that comes alive on Friday and Saturday nights with live music and a nature-themed show as the sun sets over the property; it’s described as a magical, family-friendly spot where kids dance and play on the hill while adults sip rosé." - Céline Bossart Céline Bossart Céline Bossart is a wine, spirits, and travel writer based in New York City. Gorgeous spot. The live music nights are fun and family friendly. It’s overall a great place to spend a few hours in the sun, slowly working on a bottle or two. Arrive early to grab a picnic table or bring your own lawn chairs! Additionally, expect to pay a high surcharge on bottles (a $25 bottle sold at the front goes for $60 from the bar)

I can’t thank Hanna B (the manager) and Vanessa K enough. Their customer service was incredible!! They made our experience sooo great!! Thank you ladies!! We enjoyed the Sauvignon Blanc and the cheese board. Went home with so many goodies!!

Spent my lovely afternoons at The Wine Stand at Wölffer Estate. Very clean, family-friendly, with nice live music and beautiful vineyard views. Perfect spot to unwind in the Hamptons.

Love the wine stand! Bring a foldable chair or blanket and enjoy some wine and light bites. Great for family or a group. Often have live music.

Love this place!!! This is my third season visiting Wolffer’s wine stand. Set a lovely way to spend a Friday or Saturday evening with great wine, charcuterie, and great music surrounded by vineyard vines and lots of people having a great time.

Absolutely stunning experience without the tour and wine tasting. Purchase a bottle and a charcuterie board from the stand and enjoy the estate on one of their tables or bring a throw and sit on the grass. Great spot for pictures.

Set on the beautiful Wölffer estate vineyard, the wine stand encapsulates a laid back winery experience that will without a doubt have you coming back for more. Bring a beach chair or blanket, a cute sun dress, and find a spot on the grass to sip some wine, listen to live music, catch the sunset, and admire the beautiful vineyard. I recommend coming on the weekends around sunset time for the best vibes. The wine is honestly nothing special (summer in a bottle rose is my favorite), but the atmosphere enhances anything in your glass. No outside food allowed in, and they do have some snacks, but I’d recommend skipping the food and just getting wine here.

Google
This place was a wonderful find. Check them out. A little pricey on the food. 25 bucks for a small box of crackers and meats, no cheese. A little crazy but the wine is delicious and the views amazing. If they lower the price on the food, people will drink more most likely but that's my speculation. All in all, enjoyable and I recommend! Tell 'em Barsnobs sent ya

Yelp
If you are out in the Hamptons I am sure you have heard of WÖLFFER ESTATE VINEYARD. The Wine Stand is a bit different than the main Vineyard/ Restaurant. Besides them both being very pricey ( Hampton prices). The wine stand serves boxed charcuterie board type things. You can reserve a table but most people bring blankets and chairs and sit on the grass to enjoy their wines and snacks. From 4-7pm on most nights they have live music which is a great addition. This is a kid friendly place as well. When we went there were plenty of young kids. Great place to go with a group too.

Yelp
I thought the Wine Stand was so cute! It's also genius to have this on the "main road" in addition to the winery estate around the corner. We were at the winery estate earlier in the day, but on the way back home we wanted to stop in and grab some bottles to go. The branding is so cute here and I love how they go all in on it. The Summer in a Bottle design really is beautiful and makes it a pretty (and delicious) bottle to gift. The Wine Stand has all of their offerings as well as some of their merch like water bottles and t-shirts. It's no surprise that everything carries the pretty motif here. The employees were all friendly and got us in and out of there pretty quickly. The seating area is also awesome in the back of the wine stand. More casual than the winery estate, but still quite beautiful.

Yelp
Part of The Wölffer Estate, The Wine Stand located on Montauk Hwy in Sagaponak, is more laid back. Because of COVID 19, there's a Drive-Thru where you can pick up wine by the case. Call and ask if you can buy just one or a few bottles instead. Also, not sure if you can hook up your wine bottle selection with Charcuterie, Cheeses, Accoutrements or other provisions to go. I like how The Wine Stand keeps their business up and running! I actually reserved on Sunday for a 4pm Monday sit down and came here to check ourselves in. Here's the thing- The Wine Stand also has a sit-down area looking over their vineyard- but I'm so glad I was told we didn't reserve for this area. We were told we'd had to drive out and go to the Wölffer Estate "which is more beautiful". And that's exactly what hubs and I did. So thank you for helping me out! Even if you don't sit in the back to enjoy your wine here, the short answer is: buy wine and buy local- ESPECIALLY at a vineyard!

Yelp
Part of Wolffer Estate Vineyard includes The Wine Stand. It is slightly separated from each other though and is a few minutes drive apart. The entrance to The Wine Stand is located by Montauk highway - hard to miss with all the parked cars outside especially during summer days. My husband and I came here on a saturday for his birthday weekend and we both enjoyed the time we spent here. We originally planned to check the Estate but the place was fully booked for a private event and so we ended up here. We were glad we did though since we got to enjoy their live music and a lovely crowd. Knowing this place gets packed, we planned to come in as early as we could and arrive at 12:30pm on a saturday. It was just enough time that we were still able to grab a perfect spot outside where we enjoyed a nice breeze and beautiful view of the vineyard. The Wine Stand may be different from the Estate as here you start by ordering drinks by the glass or bottle and then head on out to find your own place to enjoy and relax. The line could get long but service today was quick and efficient. I loved that you can taste different drinks first before you decide what you're getting! Also, I believe at the Estate they have staff attending to you but here it's pretty much self service. The menu only have wines and a few snacks anyway so you probably wont need much from the staff. The grounds are kept so clean and well-maintained that you wouldnt mind just wasting your time here to indulge and enjoy all that they offer. The wines in my noob opinion were great! The rosè we tried had a great subtle taste, perfect for a newbie like me. The dessert wine, Diosa, was delicious too and that we finished up pretty quick. Their summer in a bottle might be their best seller and was sold out during our visits. We also tried their charcuterie board and I liked their Manchego more than the Drunken goat although both were good pairs for the wine. It comes in a smaller box really just for snacking so dont be surprised if they are bit smaller than you'd expect. The place is a little pricey but i think we had our money's worth today and just thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with a relaxing and wine-induced weekend. Would definitely love to come back!

Yelp
A taste of Wolffer Estate without the craziness of the main vineyard! My friends and I originally wanted to visit Wolffer Estate, but because we were a large party without a reservation, we were told it would be a 45+ min wait there. The hostess kindly recommended us to check out The Wine Stand instead, and we were so happy that we did! Not only did we have access to Wolffer Estate's wine and small plates menu, but we also had no wait for our entire group of 12. My friends were all excited to try a few glasses; the wine is on the pricier end, but still reasonable. The Estate Cabernet Franc 2017 was probably my favorite. Seating here is first come first serve. I came on a cold autumn Saturday afternoon, and there were a few tables with outdoor covering/heat lamps as well as several adirondack chairs outside overlooking the vineyard. I can imagine this spot getting busier during the summer - definitely still a good alternative if Wolffer Estate is too crowded.

Yelp
The Wine Stand was great. Now hold on, I know what you're thinking; "Then why did you give it 3 stars??" I'll get there. The ambiance? Check The wine? Check The food options? Check The prices? Check (is what it is. We're in the Hamptons.) The service? Check. Every waitstaff member was lovely. Here's where we had a problem. We're in COVID times baby. You have a single bathroom available to everyone. It was absolutely disgusting. Like, awful where I wanted to close my eyes. With the prices that people are paying for wine and food, you can't afford to have someone there waiting to clean and sanitize after each use? Or at least every half hour or so?? Not even a can of Lysol and some paper towels with a sign stating directions?? For me, this was a hugeeeee NO NO. We went there for the specific reason of knowing we'd be outdoors. And thinking to ourselves, it's Wolffer. They MUST have clean and well-maintained grounds. Check out the pics and let me know what you think. Apparently there were classic port-a-potties hidden on the side somewhere. But once again. We're in be HAMPTONS! At WOLFFER! Even providing those fancier port-a-potties would have been better. All kidding aside. I was very disappointed and honestly, very anxious after using the bathroom. The line was wrapped around the building. People were going in one after another. The window was closed. It was soaked with urine. Hair in the sink. Mold on the door. No cleaner to be found. It just wasn't safe and something should be done. I purposely watched to see if anyone cleaned. They didn't. All they had was a standup hand sanitizing station outside of the bathroom. And trust me, it's NEEDED. Don't get me wrong. We had reservations on a Saturday at 3:00. I'm sure there was a lot of foot traffic between opening and then. However, it's not an excuse especially in times like these. Be responsible and safe. Clean!

Yelp
I love coming to the Wolffers Wine stand! It has gorgeous views of the vineyard. Josh was amazing. He was very helpful and incredibly knowledgeable about the wines. I will recommend this to all my friends!

Yelp
Want a way to enjoy a Long Island summer day with a glass of rosé in your hand and a beautiful ambiance? Look no further than the Wine Stand by Wolffer estate! I've gone multiple times and it's never failed to disappoint me. Make yourself comfortable sitting in cozy seating or play a game of corn hole with your friends. They offer the same beverages as the estate but in a more low key vibe. Also, they occasionally have live music as well which is such a treat! Don't drive by this venue!

Yelp
The wine stand is open until 8pm which makes it perfect to walk in after Wolfer Winery to watch the sunset.

Yelp
Bees every where do not come unless you want a swarm of bees in your wine and food. Spent $50 to have a swarm of bees on me and in my food.

Yelp
Very friendly when offering wines and around. I had a great time. The wines were nice and cold, everything was very good!

Yelp
Nice seating area with good views, but no doubt about it this place is more of a "scenestery" to be seen spot than an actual winery. The emphasis here is not on the actual wines but moreso the atmosphere. That being said, the wine and rose we ordered was still pretty good. They only had meat/cheese plates for food, we got one and it was very tasty (their manchego cheese was excellent). A few quirks: they don't have forks (how do you not have forks!) so they only gave us knives for our meat and cheese plate. Also they don't have any limes (strange because they serve gin and tonics).

Yelp
Phil is the best server in The Hamptons. He was remarkably accommodating & made our visit at the winery very comfortable & enjoyable!!!! We stayed longer than we anticipated due to his accommodations!!!
