The Best Things We Ate This Week

"Mike’s Hot Honey Classic I encountered The Chicken Spot while doing research for a late-night South Beach guide. But their Mike’s Hot Honey Classic isn’t a sandwich you should only eat at 4am. Feel free to order this any time of day, because it’s just great. It’s simple, yet beautifully executed and has everything I typically love in a fried chicken sandwich: crispy thigh meat, hot honey, fried onions, bread and butter pickles, Sriracha mayo, and a toasted potato roll." - ryan pfeffer, carlos c olaechea

The Best Late-Night Restaurants In South Beach

"Open Until Midnight A simple, well-executed fried chicken sandwich is a beautiful sight, especially when it’s very late and you’ve had two or five cocktails over the last six hours. You’ll find just such a sandwich at The Chicken Spot, a small restaurant on Washington Ave. There are five versions, including one with coconut breading and a great hot honey sandwich with pickles and sriracha mayo. Other potentially fun things to eat here while intoxicated include fried mac and cheese balls, popcorn chicken, and loaded waffle fries. They have indoor and outdoor seating, and also take to-go orders on their website." - ryan pfeffer

Good food for a good price. We had the Cheesesteak Sandwich and the Cheesesteak Wrap. Both ok. There was a special spice on the fries which I did not like. It took them a little bit until they took our order. The food tasted good. Dont expect the original taste of the Cheesesteak.

Horrible. way overpriced. I order the lunch special, the price was supposed to be around $12. I was told that my total would be $18 because of tax. I was like, "That doesn't make any sense. Why is tax $6." The employee at the counter acted like she didn't understand and then showed me the bottom of the menu that mentioned an 18% gratuity and tax. Why are they charging gratuity on a take out order!? That is so bizarre. They are scammers. I will say that when I came her last year, my first time, the chicken was enjoyable. I didn't even catch the high prices because I was drunk on spring break. That's what they do. They take advantage of their customers and serve them overpriced food!

This is the worst food experience I’ve had here in Miami. This place charges Gourmet prices for frozen process food that they just deep fry, none of the food was fresh. Not even there overprice drinks, and my son and I had virgin drinks. The waitress also didn’t bring me my water to after I was done with my horrible meal. I swear I could taste the chemicals in the fish. On top of that they charged me a $12 service fee. This is horrible business practice. I want a refund.

For the price it's not THE WORST. Truthfully there aren't many great eats here in South Beach to begin with. If you want flavoured chicken wings late at night this is the best bang for your buck.

Horrible customer service!!! Ridding bike with my family in south beach and decided to stop at this place. They stayed outside with the bikes and I went to order, before ordering I asked to use the bathroom to which the employee says NO ONLY FOR PAYING CUSTOMERS and she goes around the counter tells another employee and they start laughing.. when she comes to the register I order a coke (I wasn’t ready to place the full order because I really needed to use the bathroom) she tells me she can’t just sell me a coke it’s a minimum $5 to use the bathroom. At this point I had enough with her attitude and I test her saying how about I give you the $5 and you let me use your bathroom. She has the audacity to tell me OKAY ! (Something the business owner might not be aware of them charging to use the restroom) TOLD HER SHE HAS NO SHAME AND I WOULDNT SPEND A DIME AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT… judging from the other reviews I’m not the only that’s had a bad experience here.

Do not waste you hard earned money on this place. The AC was not working. There were two fans going and they were just circulating the hot air. We walked all the way from Lincoln Rd to come to this restaurant for the wings and it was not worth it at all!! The place can definitely use a visit from Dirty Dining, the health inspector, and possibly Kitchen Nightmares. The food was subpar at best. And since we took the food back to our hotel on Collins to eat BECAUSE the place is not suitable for dining in AND the AC was broke, we couldn't take the food back. And since my husband got the 20 wings and fries for $12.99 deal...we wouldn't be able to get a refund anyway. My advice to you is if you are looking for wings, you would be better off cooking them yourself than you would be if you ordered them from this place. AVOID WING SPOT AT ALL COSTS!!

This place is great quick and cheap. The crew members are friendly and you can enjoy chicken wings from soft to really hot, also their burgers and Greek menu are awesome. You should not hesitate to go there you will have a great experience.

Horrible food, and pretty rude staff. Have also ordered food from them and they forgot half my order, but had no problem charging me. Pretty confident the meat in the “famous” nachos was fresh pigeon. Not any pigeon though - fresh, organic, non-conflict pigeon (and GF). These are actually the same ones they use as messenger pigeons, too! Also, love how you sell like 5 different flavors of wings, and none are standard Buffalo sauce. Did you miss the wing memo (No! Not the wings of the pigeons!). You have “plain” .. but it has no sauce. You guys are lucky you serve drunk tourists and college kids or you’d be out of business in a month.
