The 20 Best Restaurant Patios In Philadelphia - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"If you’re looking for a party on the water that feels like a music festival, head to The Winston On The Water. On their large bright patio, they have a DJ setup, games, and a few bars where you can get a cucumber jalapeño tequila cocktail. Since it’s right next to the Delaware River, it will probably be packed most days in the summer. But the view plus the burgers, shrimp baskets, and crab cake sandwich makes sharing the same stool with a stranger (almost) worth it.  " - Candis Mclean, Alison Kessler

If you're looking for a stunning and affordable event space to host your birthday celebration, engagement party, or any gathering with friends and loved ones, I highly recommend the Winston Social Club! My fiancé and I faced an almost disastrous situation when our former venue ghosted us just a week before our event. Desperate to find a new space that could accommodate us and our 50+ guests on such short notice, we contacted numerous venues. By fate, we connected with Tiffany, an event manager at Winston, who truly saved our event! Tiffany reserved one of their prime event rooms, The Emerald Room, which came complete with door security, a fully stocked bar, cocktail tables, and music and AV equipment ready to go. She ensured we had everything we needed and even went the extra mile by putting in a good word with the manager of the dance club next door, Mr. Ivy, so we could continue the celebration with our friends and family who were already having an amazing time. I cannot express how unforgettable our engagement party was, thanks to Tiffany, the Winston Social Club, & Mr. Ivy. We will definitely be reaching out to host our upcoming wedding festivities and other events with Winston!

Came to The Winston for brunch with friends. They normally have a DJ on the weekends providing the vibes but he was not present when we went Sunday. The ambiance & vibes were still on point. The Winston was able to make up for that by playing a great music playlist from their phone. Whoever’s playlist they were playing was pretty good and a few of my friends mentioned they wish there was a dance floor. We settled to some chair dancing instead. Our waitress was attentive and took care of us. We all came with our appetites and ordered a wide variety of items. I took advantage of their $5 mimosas. A few girlfriends tried the brunch shots and they said they were good. For brunch, I had their Chicken and waffles. The Chicken and Waffle was served with a nicely seasoned chicken breast and the waffles were thick and fluffy in texture. My only gripe about my dish is that I wish my chicken was a bit bigger. I also sampled the avocado toast and the home fries from what my girlfriends ordered and they were both delicious. Overall we had a great time and there were no complaints about the food. I’d definitely come back! Great vibes, great food and reasonable prices 🙌🏾

Didn't want to stay in to watch Thursday Night football one day, so he suggested we check this place out - neither of us had been there before. It was a rainy night, so it wasn't as crowded there and we were able to find seats at the bar the moment we walked in. The bartender was really cool, great energy and helpful in his suggestions for food. He also made some great drinks! (I appreciate a good/heavier pour). The food was pretty good too. We ordered the wings, chicken quesadillas and some fries. All came out hot, fresh and tasted really good. The vibe, atmosphere and decor there was cool too - gave me a modern pub style vibe feeling more upscalish but having the feel and demeanor of your neighborhood bar. We liked it. Would recommend checking them out & we want to go back for another game day (maybe Sunday day/night games).

Went on a Saturday for Brunch, we were a party of 4. $5 Mimosas, $6 breakfast shots, $10 espresso martinis. The food & drinks were delicious & having a live DJ was the cherry on top! The service was the best. Everything was clean (including the bathrooms). If you are looking to have a fun grown up brunch with friends this is the spot!

Google
Made reservations for brunch last Saturday. Me and my two friends were the first people there. It took 45 minutes for our food to come out. One of the pancakes was burnt and they were so cold that the butter didn't melt. The turkey bacon was also overcooked. The waitress was very nice

Went here on a Sunday after a race. The place is lovely. I ordered the chicken and waffles for brunch and it was delicious. The waitress made sure to bring us extra water for our large group. Prices were good too.

Google
Great location, ample parking, chill atmosphere, great staff, our waiter Sidney was very attentive, the food was tasty, we had brunch. If you require a booth call ahead and reserve. Dj was good with the variation of music. Clean and not too loud.

Awesome for watching sports! Was a quieter night for Philly sports, so the bartenders were able to accept our request to change one of the TVs to the nationally televised basketball game! Food was great as well! Alex the bartender was the best!

Yelp
My bf and I have been trying to check this place out for a while, but they would be closed each time we would go (even though the website says open). I now know to check their instagram for daily updates. The venue is great. Very big, spacious, and clean. Great ambiance. But weird rules and weird management. The menu on the website is not updated and the bartender said to completely ignore what is on there. Ordered the fried chicken tender basket + espresso martini. Both were just okay. The tenders were overly fried and the chicken was dry. People next to us were all eating the burger and it looked/smelled delicious. I'll definitely check that out again next time! I love the old school r&b playlist and there are many TVs with all sports playing constantly.

Yelp
The view is amazing at the Winston. It's located behind the Dave & Buster's on Delaware Avenue. It's pretty hidden and easy to miss . We enjoyed the ambience. The music was great and the Chicken Sandwich and waffle fries were good. The service was excellent.

Yelp
OMG! This place was a great spot to watch the Eagles game. The drinks were good and not overpriced. And it had great vibes and beautiful people. I didn't even care that there was a cover charge. I'm def going back

Yelp
I went to the Winston for my friends husband's birthday on 4th of July weekend after hearing so many great things about their brunch parties. We were very excited to enjoy some music and good food. Unfortunately, we were only able to do one of the two. They did not have a DJ that weekend as our server said it was due to the holiday which was quite disappointing and the only reason why I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars. I wish it had been announced on their Instagram page or something. I got the espresso martini and the chicken and waffles. The chicken was the best chicken I've had with a waffles dish in my whole life! It was that good. It has a kick of heat to it and was so juicy and delicious, 10/10. I would definitely be going back to get the full party brunch experience next time they have a DJ!

Yelp
Brunch was amazing vibes but the food was just regular. $5 mimosas will ALWAYS be a win and the Dj had everyone, young to old on the dance floor. I was shocked to see kids at brunch but it made for a good time to be had by all. All inclusive is the way to go. Food was just ok in taste but the portion size was filling and presentation is super cute. My friend didn't like her French Toast because it was cold, my Frattata was tasty but a lil oily and the hash brown sandwich was also just ok. I forgot the Dj name but I would love to come back to see him. He was LIT!!! (The tall dark skin hostess was a sweetheart too shout out to her)

Yelp
Love the ambiance and vibe. The overall service was lacking from the experience but food and drinks were great!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I wanted to try this spot for brunch. When we arrived we found parking on the street nearby. We walked in and gave my name for the reservations and decided to sit at the bar. Del was our bartender and she was ok. For drinks we got the $5 mimosas and they were good. For entrées we got the chicken and waffle sandwich which was good. The DJ was bumping and they had the derby and bball game on. We had a good time.

Yelp
What's Wrong With The Winston? Understaffed, many kinks to be resolved, okay food. The Winston has the potential to be a great place to grab a drink and a bite to eat. Pros: DJ on weekends (sometimes) $5 mimosas Nice decor Cons: Food looks like my teenage son could have made it. My waffle was as thin as an ego waffle, the hash brown sandwich is a joke it's literally 2 frozen hash browns! Nothing on the menu that stands out Not enough waitstaff. I understand that everyone is understaffed but on one specific visit a manager (possibly off duty) was making one (of two servers) on a busy Sunday specifically cater to a table of their family. This was extremely unprofessional (on the manager). DJ is not a regular occurrence. We specifically chose the Winston the day party brunch feel and it was not that. I gave The Winston 4 tries and each time my experience got progressively worse. I'm hoping this is just first year hiccups because I really want to love this place.

Yelp
Love coming here for events, I typically have the honey chicken sandwich which is really good. Probably one of the better sandwiches in the city in my opinion. Service is always great especially for how busy they are.

Yelp
Best atmosphere to watch a Philly Sports game. Super clean, feels like they just renovated. Wait staff is super fast & fun. The food is low key super good. Great happy hour drink & food menu

Yelp
Great happy hour! Espresso martini was delicious. Chicken wings were yummy. Sliders were small but still good. Unfortunately, we were the only people there during 6/7pm on a Friday night. Waitress was slow and inattentive (and we were her only table lol) but we were patient. Location isn't the best honestly. Hopefully more people will come try this place! Will be back :)

Yelp
Came here for Brunch and would have thought I was going to a party with the music they were playing, the cussing, n-word type songs. I felt bad for the older ladies sitting in the booth close by. For a Brunch ambiance perhaps switching up the Playlist. Would have given 4 stars but the music takes away from the Brunch feel. I have had better Brunches to be honest.

Yelp
I honestly don't know where to begin (sigh). I break it down by Pros and Cons: Pros Location (across from my office) Fried Oreo with vanilla bean ice cream Occasion: 12 of us went out after work to partake in the $25 dollar, 3 course restaurant week. Two tables (booths) were provided. Cons The food was subpar (first course-Thai wings were decent) my (second course-traditional burger medium well was so over cooked, it was given a cheap grocery store quality and OMG, the bun was horrible hard and dry, and not even a brioche bun, it's 2023 time to upgrade the bun) Service was HORRIBLE, couldn't get utensils, condiments, orders timely. I'm on my first course, 5 minutes later here comes my second course and some ppl hadn't gotten their first course. One coworker had to leave 40 minutes in to him not getting his first course (sigh) There is no drink menu so we were charged for the alcohol that was in our drinks, which weren't very good. (SMH) The light in the bathroom room is on a censor which is not good if you're in there and it goes pitch black, especially with the bathroom being on the basement, scared me to death. Finally, the bill was broken up between 2 tables and table one (387.00) and table two (528.00) on a restaurant week. The food part we understood but the drink breakdown was not explained clearly at all). I hope someone reads these reviews because it appears that everyone is saying the same thing.

Yelp
I went to this establishment for Brunch on Saturday. I didn't have a reservation but I was seated right away at the bar. The place is small. What I enjoyed. The DJ played good music, mimosas and the pancake and syrup shots. My girlfriend and I waited 1 hr for our food to arrive. How is that possible when the place isn't big or crowded? I ordered the veggie omelet, seasoned potatoes with toast and a side of pork sausage. How do you mess up a veggie omelet? It came out a tan color, omelet was cold with brocolli, tomatoes and dice zucchin as the veggies inside. Now the seasoned potatoes were good. Would I come again to this place NO!

Yelp
As a place to take your friends and family for brunch on Saturday and Sunday, or plan a social gathering or party, a good place to go. Good food, servers are friendly and welcoming & will accommodate you. As far as employment, I cannot recommend them. They don't take care of their back bone, the BOH kitchen, leaving us constantly under staffed & little resources to perform your duties. As the former KM, I was constantly left out of the loop, with no warning on parties that I were told about the day of instead of in advance. Diminished control in the kitchen & schedule, and pay became to be uncertain on some weeks for months on in. No dishwasher on the busiest days, which meant myself or one of my cooks had to leave the line to wash dishes because we had no clean dishes. Had to fight for my guys to get the raise they were promised while other employees made more & did less also showed up late or whenever they got there with no repercussions. One of the most trying, unorganized & dis functional places I've ever worked for.

Yelp
Breakfast shot was good, great vibe, good music, good food and great service plus they have parking

Yelp
Ew! Definitely saw a roach here. Also unprofessional management. If guests can see it, just imagine behind the scenes!

Evan B.

Yelp
A fun place for brunch. They had open bar seating with a Dj playing great songs. Our bartender Doe made a delicious Midori sour, and provided excellent service! Food was good as well.

Yelp
Nice vibe for watching a game/couple drinks and loud music. Terrible place for Brunch- an omelet must have been half of an egg, service was terrible. So def dont try their water down $5 mimosas
