The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Love it!!!!! Really immerses you in the theme. The food, the rides, the stores, the wand choosing experience is a MUST! Every detail and architecture choice is detailed and well thought out. This is def one of the highlights of universal studios if not the best reason to go.

We are huge Harry Potter fans and had such a fun time at this park! Be aware that the main ride is a bit size restrictive, but they have tester seats so you can make sure you fit before getting in line. The Ollivander's wand experience is really good and all the staff was helpful and committed to their roles. If you get a wand there are lots of spots to cast a spell and have magical interaction, however some of these locations seem to get overwhelmed when there are lots of people. Make sure you treat yourself to a butterbeer!

The Harry Potter part of Universal is absolutely magical! Loved being immersed in the building from the books / movies! So very well done! Lunch at the three broomsticks was great, even some gluten free options! Butterbeers were Devine! We liked the hot and frozen versions. By far one of the best parts of universal!

Casual Harry Potter fan but I've seen the movies and read the books, and this land did not disappoint. Extremely well done, beautiful design and atmosphere. The butter beer is a must have. The forbidden journey ride made me nauseous but I can appreciate how well made it is. The hippogriff coaster is fun and my 6 year old loved it, just wish it was longer..

Amazing set up with the detail of hogsmead and hogwarts, the ride in Howard's is incredible. We managed to go on a quiet day which meant there was hardly any waiting time and it weren't really busy. Brilliant experience and would highly recommend

This was the best ride for me. It's kind of a mix of tech animation and roller coaster, but not the standard ones, way much better. I truly enjoyed the experience and need to confess that I rode 3 times in a row 😀

This place is mind blowing. If you're a fan and have watched the movies, you'll find yourself immersed in the actual movie. Every corner makes you say "omg like in the movie". If it's your first time you'll definitely come back, cause there's not enough time to enjoy every detail in a day, specially if you wanna take your time and do other activities

Cool, but small. No Dragon Alley or whatever its called. That's what I want. Actors and characters aren't out like Mario world. Using the wands are hard to do. The stores are basically the same. Universal listen up: Give me the alley and more guest will enjoy the place. Creatively make better stores that dont just sell harry potter wands and Keychains. Rather stuff like Harry's room where you can collect all miniatures of that universe and toys. I dont know, but ask the fans and fix it up. I think my biggest disappointment is that the only major ride for Harry potter crashes nearly 45% of the time. I just take naps righting that thing, knowing I'll will get stalled out with me upside down. Good nap though. Like being saddled by a running giant troll. Youre telling me after all those books and movies, this is all that Universal Studios can do? This is Hollywood yet we dont have more? Psssh, shouldn't there be at least a ride where we use wands and fight Voldemort or something? How about just a walkable castle that we can explore and use the wands in different scenarios? Trash that ride machine (keep the kids one though because its super fun and smooth) and invest into epic Harry tour with amazing interactive things. We want it, so get on it. -1 star for ride breakdowns -1 star for lack of creativity and characters -1 for no alley with misfits

A visit to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is always enchanting! The magic begins the moment you pass through the arches of Hogsmeade and have a chance to take a photo with the friendly Hogwarts Express conductor some fans like to call him Stan, inspired by the whimsical train staff from the Wizarding World. The shops are brimming with charm! I picked up the cutest interactive shoulder pets, including a snowy owl like Hedwig and an adorable little Pygmy Puff. I even brought home a mischievous Niffler he's known for his love of shiny things, so I'll definitely be keeping an eye on my jewelry! With wand in hand, I tried my luck casting spells at various interactive spots around Hogsmeade. Most of them worked like magic, but I ran into a bit of trouble near Honeydukes by the cupcake display. A nearby wizard mentioned that spell station was acting up, so I had to go full Hermione and figure it out myself. Of course, no visit is complete without a ride on Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey! Flying through Hogwarts, dodging Dementors, and soaring alongside Harry and friends it's the kind of magic that gives you chills in the best way. Even with a few spell misfires, it still felt like stepping right into the pages of the books and scenes from the films. Butterbeer, broomsticks, and a whole lot of fun pure wizarding joy!

GREAT! This is a must-see for any Harry Potter fan. I have some friends that love Harry Potter and still have not seen this world. I weep for them lol They would absolutely love this! You enter through the giant gates and are immersed into the world of Harry Potter. You will find the Platform Nine and Three-Quarters (magical platform where the Hogwarts Express train departs). You can take pictures there with someone dressed up. You just can't walk onto it. After that, you can try butterbeer and chocolate frogs! It's great lol Basically, everything from the movies, was brought to life. There are two rides in this world and both are good. There's a wizard wand store and a store for robes. What else could you ask for?? It rocks! My husband and I had tons of fun walking through and checking out all the things this world has to offer guests.

One of my favorite areas at Universal Studios Hollywood. This magical kingdom includes 2 rides; Flight of the Hippogriff which is a short outdoor roller coaster and The Forbidden Journey, a virtual simulated ride inside the Hogwarts castle. A replica of the Hogwarts Express is located near the entrance. For dining, try the Three Broomsticks, don't forget the ginger beer and make a stop to Olivanders Wand Shop.

What a magical world. Literal magic. I can't believe the magic. My wand has magic. Just like the movie except in my real hand. It's so great. Also, we saw Buck Beak come over here come over here Thank you.

The last time I was in Universal Studios was 20 years ago after we got ripped off royally in the "unhappiest place on earth aka Disneyland, my husband didn't want go to Universal Studios in Hollywood but I managed to talk him into it. I resisted the temptation to buy the express lane as we got burnt once in Disneyland so here's the tip, save your money we went on Tuesday n the place was almost empty, the lines were all about 6 to 30 minutes. I googled n saw that Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey was the #1 ride so that was our 1st ride, 5 minutes so that was NO LINE! But it's such a long walk to get to the ride itself. Guys this hogwarts Harry Potter ride was actually superfun. I must warn you guys right now this ride is a mini roller coaster, the movement was brutal I nearly lost my iPhone as I filmed quite a bit while trying not to lose my 4d glasses, this ride is definitely not for elderly folks or cardiac patients, that said as someone who hated rollercoasters and got dizzy easily this did NOT get me motion sick and it was really enjoyable. Half of the folks screamed bc they were scared n the kids screamed out of delight, I was so scared at first so shocked at how fast n furious this was, none of the review told it like it really was but I love it. I got stuck right with a giant spider breathing on you and the dementor right in my face lol and the second time was the whomping willow, I was not terrified but heard people saying so n my husband got blurred vision after the ride. I heard an older couple saying they were nauseous n nearly vomited it was that bad. The Animatronics are electronically controlled puppets that move fluidly and are designed to look lifelike. They were so real! The dementors were so incredibly close, it was kinda freaky. I watched 1 Harry Potter movie all of 25 min n found it so boring n could not understand the fascination but I really loved this Harry Potter village, it was like in a fairy tale, I passed through the gate n was greeted by the conductor of the Hogwarts train, there were so many shops, the 3 Broomsticks restaurant was just amazing I wish I had time to dine in there, everything was like $19 really reasonable. The park closed early n I wanted to make the most out of my time there. Come back to read more reviews of the rides I went on. This definitely was the best ride I had ever had, it was so worth it but my husband vision was loused up for a whole hour. The next one was crazy too, Mario kart, stay tune !

This is one of my favorite rides at the park. I have done this in Orlando so I knew what to expect. The animations are unreal. Best part is you don't have to wear 3D glasses or any other animation devices. One of the favorite parts of this ride is when we go over the quidditch field and play quidditch with Harry Potter. The lines can be lengthy here as well.

I always end every park visit with a butter beer, it continues to be my favorite section of the park. I love seeing people and kids in their robes - it's so fun.

Wow. I totally geeked out in awe over this area of the park. The details were impressive from platform 9 3/4, Hogsmeade Village, Three Broomsticks, Hogwarts Castle, and all the various shops. There was so much to visually soak in and the roaming cast just added to the entire experience. I don't think I will ever get tired of The Wizard World of Harry Potter. I have been here 3 times, and it is still my first stop at Universal. I enjoyed the books, movies and everything about it! It's simply magical! There is so much to do! You can ride the kid-friendly Flight of the Hippogriff. The Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey (separate review) is unforgettable! If you have kids or a kid in heart, you can purchase an interactive wand (cost a small fortune) to cast spells in the theme park to create magical experiences. It makes me smile when I see kids all decked out in HP gear and trying to cast the spells. It's priceless when their faces lit up after a flick of the wrist and the right incantation. Love it!!! I also love browsing the stores. You have a chance to buy all things Harry Potter, including the owls plush toys, robes, scarf/clothes for each house, chocolate frogs, jelly slugs, and knick knacks. You don't have to worry about carrying them around. They can store it for you, and you can pick it up on your way out of the theme park. They really thought of everything. Do not leave without having a butterbeer unless, of course, you have type 2 diabetes or restricted diet. I know it's expensive but it is so good and totally worth the calories. A MUST stop at Universal Studio!

Honestly probably the best part of Universal Studios Hollywood. I wish this place was bigger but for what they have, it's incredible! Love the vibe and shops. They did a fantastic job making it feel like you're walking through that world. I remember how excited I was when I found out this was opening! It's still surreal to see sometimes because of how much Universal has changed in general. Every time we visit (pass holders) we have to check this place out. Just walking through it even if it's just to grab a drink or snack, we always drop by! I surprisingly haven't given in to a robe or wand yet but I honestly haven't found a wand I really want yet. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is one of my favorite areas to go to at Universal Studios Hollywood! The entrance is right next to the Simpson's area before you go to the lower lot. There is a lot to do in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and you can easily spend several hours here! Rides: Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey: You'll join Harry, Hermione, and Ron as you journey through the castle. You may run into some Whomping Willows and see some animatronic Dementors. There is a height requirement on this ride and I'd highly recommend avoiding it if you get motion sickness easily. Flight of the Hippogriff: It's a quick mini roller coaster right across the Harry Potter and Forbidden Journey ride. Hagrid teachers young wizards how to fly hippogriffs on this ride! Typically wait time can average from 15 minutes to 60 minutes. Experiences: Ollivanders - Here you can purchase interactive and non-interactive wands. If you purchase a interactive wand, you're provided a map of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. There are locations pin pointed on the map where you can perform magic throughout the land! Tri-Wizard Spirit Rally: A Triwizard tournament between the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the Durmstrang Institute, and the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic! Make sure to check the Hollywood Studios mobile application for show times! Dining: Lots of carts that have quick items like butterbeer! Three Broomsticks: One of the best dining locations at Universal Studios Hollywood. The food is delicious here and most of the options are relatively healthy. There can be a long wait depending on the time of day, but their chicken and corn on the cob is amazing! This is a must visit if you're at Universal Studios Hollywood. If you're looking for dining choices, I'd highly recommend the Three Broomsticks!

I wish there was more rides here, but other than that this is nice themed edition to Universal Studios amusement park. The butterbeer is yummy and the food here is good. Overpriced merch of course lol.

I have to admit that I might be a little biased because I visited the larger Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Florida first. This made the smaller park feel a bit disappointing, even though it still manages to capture the charm and nostalgia of Hogwarts and Hogsmeade. I find the castle ride too frightening to enjoy, but I really enjoy the other rides and exploring the shops.

Whenever I enter the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, I get happy. Yah, it might not be as vast or stacked as the Orlando version (about a third of the attractions/food spots), but it still has all the mystery and wonderment of the franchise. Also, let's please separate Harry Potter from JK Rowling so we can fully enjoy this theme park, lol! Did you know the Hollywood WWoHP is the third iteration of the themed area? It first came to Orlando then to Osaka, with Hollywood rounding out the trio in 2016, and now there's also Beijing which opened in 2021. So in the the theme park world, it's still a pretty new and fresh area being just 7 years old. The best ride in the entire Universal Studios Park is right inside the WWoHP -Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey! You fly flawlessly (most of the time lol) for 4 minutes through the sky going through Hogsmeade, Hogwarts and the Forbidden Forest! It's a motion based dark ride so head caution if you get dizzy on rides. Some of my friends get so nauseous on this ride, they completely skip it. Then there's me, who can go on the ride 10x in a row and just be happy as a clam. The only other ride is the Flight of the Hippogriff which is worth going on if there's no wait but otherwise it's just a 1 minute junior coaster ride. Nothing spectacular. Ollivanders Experience + Wand Shop in Hogsmeade is a must-do show to see wizards get their wands, and if you're lucky you'll get some special attention. ;) The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle are spectacular and another 'don't miss' attraction. Foodwise, Three Broomsticks is a great eating destination, actually one of my favorite in the whole park. Classic eats, awesome atmosphere and truly the best cast members. Within Three Broomsticks is Hog's Head to pub yourself some park exclusive beers. It's super cute but a bit hidden if you don't know what to look for. Shining stars of the shops are definitely Honeydukes (candies for days) and Zonko's Joke Shop (be sure to look up, down, and all around at the theming). They also have Dervish and Banges, Filch's Emporium of Confiscated Goods, Owl Post & Owlery (send a postcard to friends with a special postmark), Wiseacre's Wizarding Equipment (get your robes embroidered here) and Gladrags Wizardwear. Be sure to visit during Halloween when the dementors come out! It is sooooo fun with the holiday theming. This land is the most immersive in the park (sorry Super Nintendo World) as there is just so much to see around every nook and cranny. In classic Universal fashion, rides break down and I often see the interactive wand points not working. Kind of a shame when you buy the expensive wand and can't use it. I'm a terrible person when I see some people aimlessly waving their wands in the air and nothing happens, but they try over & over & over - I giggle. All that being said, the feeling I get when walking into The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is pure joy. For that, even with its lack of attractions and flaws, it can get no less than 5 stars.

Whether you are a fan of the books, movies, or both in my case, this is an area of Universal Studios Hollywood that is an absolute must! Bonus if you enter Hogsmeade with an interactive wand as it makes the area come alive. I've made two trips here over the last couple of years, and it's just as magical as the last. Love the theming, the amazing wizarding staff to make you feel at home, and the overall ambiance of the area. My family is from England on one side, and it does feel like I stepped into the other country that has my heart. I solemnly swear I am up to no good!

This is my favorite area in Universal Studios Hollywood. I feel like I transport into another world when I step foot in this area. You definitely have to stop by Honeydukes which has all of the fun candies from the movies. Another must is grabbing a Butter Beer from one of the carts outside. Located in the castle is my favorite ride, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, where it takes you in flight all around the Hogwarts grounds. Can't wait to go back. It's always a good time when I visit!

This place is so cute and cozy to wander around at nighttime! You can feel the magic coming from the grounds once you walk into this side of the park. Can never leave without grabbing yourself the famous Butter Beer drink too. The castle when you look up lights up colorful lights that are so mesmerizing and great for photos. My inner child was so happy when I went! :)

My favorite world..... just transports you to another land, a magic land. Only 2 rides here but lots to see....

i love everything about harry potter from book series to movies!! and they replicated this wizard world so realistically! the rides need to get better thooo the vr one is saur bad pls make it motion sickness friendly! like the hippogriff one is cool but way too short D;

Love this part of the park. Definitely one of the redeeming aspects of Universal. Both rides are pretty fun especially the one in the castle. Butter beer is yummy, staff is friendly.

If you're a fan of Harry Potter, you will absolutely enjoy a day in The Wizarding World. There is so much to see, eat, drink, and experience! Just the theming itself feels like you're in an entirely different world. There is Honeydukes, which is the candy shop where you can buy chocolate frogs, Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans, or fantastical twisty turny lollipops - just to name a few. You can also visit Ollivander's and choose (or be chosen by) a wand, that you can buy and take home in a nice little labeled box, so you know if you have a phoenix feather wand like Voldemort or a unicorn hair wand like Snape! The ride options that The Wizarding World has are the the Flight of the Hippogriffs and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. In the Forbidden Journey ride, you are in a row of folks with your feet dangling. You get twisted and turned around as you travel through Hogwarts, a Quidditch match, and also encounter a dragon on your journey! The Flight of the Hippogriff is a little more "airy" and lighthearted (more of a kid's ride), where you are in a little basket and just taken around a little track, with a Hippogriff head at the front like he is leading you. Fun little ride, but definitely not as exciting or full of adventure like the Forbidden Journey. If you're feeling peckish after your shopping and riding, you can visit the Three Broomsticks for a quick British fare bite, some Butter Beer, or just a rest for a while in the cool themed restaurant. For Harry Potter fans, I think this is definitely a worthwhile stop to see the theming you remember from the books/movies, and have some of the fun experiences and food/drinks to go along with it!

4 stars because this isn't as big as the one in Florida. I think it's a land issue. This is like Harry Potter light. There are only 2 real rides in this land. There's also the Olivander Wand show. If you don't have your own magic wand, you can watch everyone else use their wands on the window and save yourself the money. The lines here during the holidays are super long. On non holidays, there's hardly anyone here. It's decorated to the max, and you really feel like you're entering the Wizarding world. Just wish it was bigger.

My favorite part of Universal Studios Hollywood. Once your enter this area you feel transformed to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The architecture is beautiful, the stores are one of a kind and the rides are fun. The butter beer is interesting, not my favorite but it's a must try when at the area. Overall this section is pretty cool and can't wait to come back now that I have season passes.

This place is an immersive wonderful time. To feel like you're in Hogwarts is such a magical feeling. The shops are wonderful and filled with amazing items. Food options are all perfectly themed; all the way from small snacks to eating at Three Broomsticks or having a drink at Hog's Head Pub makes everything worth while. Decorations are amazing. I mean even at Hog's Head you have a moving hog. Gift shops have that monstrous book growling and snapping away. Oh and while some of the noises she make are weird and could be suggestive, it's still great they have audio of Moaning Myrtle in the bathroom. Or maybe it just the boy's bathroom she's in (like in the movie) and not the girl's restroom. I've never gone in the girl's rooms! Butterbeer is a must! :) and staff always are eager to greet you and stay in magical character.

Hands down the best part of Universal Studios. Last time I was at Universal Studios was over a decade ago prior to building Harry Potter Land. I was amazed walking in and it seriously felt like I was in the Harry Potter story. I honestly don't know a lot about Harry Potter other than he's a Wizard but I still loved the decorations and the feel of the entire land. It felt very Christmas like and the decorations of the entire land was so detailed. I loved the huge castle in the background. The ride itself was super fun. I've heard so much about the butter beer and there are so many stands that sell it. I finally had the chance to try it and it was so good! The hype did not disappoint at all. Was it worth $9? Probably not but definitely worth it for a first time try. Best I can describe is that it's similar to root beer float or cream soda with a butter scotch like cream foam on the top. I think a root beer float would likely quench the same cravings but nothing like having a butter beer and walking through Harry Potter Land. All of the employees here were super into their role in the land similar to Disneyland actors. They seemed really into it which I loved.

My favorite part of the park hands down. The architecture and immersion is amazing. If you're super in to the world of Harry Potter and plan to visit the park multiple times in the future, I definitely recommend going to Ollivander's and getting matched with your wand and to grab some of your house robes after. You get a map where you can find where you can cast your magic spells at throughout the area! The food here is definitely more unique than the rest of the park, which I feel is just mostly fast food you can get anywhere else. There's the Three Broomsticks for British food, the Hog's Head pub, the sweets store with chocolate frogs and the every flavored beans, and the carts with Butterbeer (also a MUST when you stop by). The Hogwarts' Express is there as well, make sure to interact with the conductor too. You get to go through Hogsmeade and all the shops. Then there's Hogwarts which houses the Forbidden Journey Ride. Even when you're in line, you get to see the exterior and interior of Hogwarts and there is SO MUCH detail to look at, with the moving portraits, headmaster's office, and so much more. At night, they have the light and fireworks show. I think it's normally the Hogwarts Houses show, which is nice and short, but the Christmas holiday one is MUCH LONGER AND FANCIER. There's also the Flight of the Hippogriff mini roller coaster ride here too (worth it only if the wait is less than 15 minutes to be honest). Pictures here are very great and eye catching, especially during the holiday season. An absolute must each time!

Guiness and Meade were Fantastic. Loving this irish pub feeling. Stone walls and floor and dark wood tables. The boar head behind the bar moving and huffing is a great touch.

Super awesome. All the buildings and architecture are so awesome and you feel like you are actually in the world of Harry Potter. Only a couple rides but I hope they add on in the future. So fun to walk around in and just explore shops!

Walking through the wizarding world of Harry Potter is a real treat if you're a fan of the franchise like me. Everything is so aesthetically pleasing from the giant castle to the narrow streets and Corredor's, the pubs, train station and magic wand shops. Speaking of which (pun intended) they have tons of different wands to purchase. Once you've chosen your wand or your wand has chosen you. Depending on how you want to look at it. You can use said wand to interact with several things throughout the landscape. Every kid that I've seen do it seems to absolutely love it. The roller coaster ride time is short but it's still pretty fun. But the pièce de résistance is the thrilling, immersive, motion simulation ride called Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. The entrance is through the castle doors at Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. You won't be disappointed.

I recently got a chance to ride Harry Potter and the forbidden journey and buckbeak ride the first time as it's not busy as any other rides since, somebody else went to Super Nintendo world. Other than that, I have been enjoying the Harry Potter movies from childhood to adulthood.

I've always dreamed of going to Harry Potter World so my boyfriend took me on my birthday. It was just as magical as I imagined it to be, we were completely immersed in the Wizarding World. The ride in the castle was so fun, I would've loved to go on it a couple more times. As expected, everything was severely overpriced, but it's what you would expect at a theme park. Definitely check out Honeydukes and Olivanders, and grab a butterbeer on the way. It's a must-see attraction!

Food (5/5 stars): As Harry Potter super fans, being at the Wizarding World and drinking Butterbeer felt like magic We preferred the slushie over the standard drink! Experience (/5 stars): * Price: expensive. But it's all about the experience! * Wait Time: not bad on a weekday in May * Service: good * Ambiance: there are 2 stands in the Wizarding World, making you feel like you're actually in Hogsmeade!

OMG! Delicious Butterbeer and it tasted like Cream Soda! It was too addictive and I can never resist drinking this Butterbeer. Must try!!!!

I love love love Universal Studios. It's hands down my favorite theme park! I grew up reading and watching the Harry Potter series, so when they decided to add this in, I was super excited. The themed stores are so quaint and adorable. I love the whimsy that building have; they used an old stone, just like in the movies! It feels as if you're walking through Diagon Alley. They're pretty clean too, which is surprising, because most theme parks I go to are extremely dirty and filled with trash. I love that they have a store that sells candy, clothes, wands, and interesting drinks/snacks. My main issue is that the rides break down often. I remember being super excited for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride, because I'm not a super thrill seeker and I was excited for an easy laidback ride that didn't have drops or speed. Back in 2018, my friend and I were stuck on the ride when we got to the whomping willow. We were on our backs at that time and tilted in a way where the blood was slowly rushing to our heads. We were stuck there for a good five minutes and I started to get anxiety. And recently, I went to universal again during horror nights. We actually got in earlier to try the rides, but the ride broke down while I was in front of the dementors. It took about 3 minutes, but it wasn't very pleasant. I understand things get old and that's why they require maintenance, so of course I'll still be coming by!

Such a magical world! Hubby and I recently went back to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter after watching HP 1&2 during the Christmas season. We immediately felt like we were completely transported into the movie. We love every detail put into the entire village of Hogsmeade as well as Hogwarts. From Zonko's Joke Shop to the Three Broomsticks, and Ollivander's Wand Shop. We also picked up a frozen Butterbeer to enjoy during our entire stroll through Hogsmeade! It was about $10 for a cup and perfect to share between two. Overall, we absolutely love it here! We didn't get to go on the rides on this recent visit, but I did happen to go on Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey a few years ago and loved it! Not for the faint of heart, but it was full of thrills and the queue line for the ride is brilliant. We can't wait to come back and spend more time here next visit. Will definitely be picking up some interactive wands to play around!

I loved it as much as the Florida version. I really enjoyed the little show they did while we were there with the death eaters walking around dueling people and jump scaring people. It was so much fun. The show on the castle was super cool and fun to watch. Walking around in general is always just fun here.

Yesterday, we went to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter to go for a ride. The ride is like a cable car and soaring in the sky. Also we went to the Flight of Hippogriff roller coaster. This roller coaster just like the tiger coaster at the Oakland Zoo. We tried the butter beer. It is just fake beer and tastes like vanilla. This is the attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood.

I'm so glad that I was able to finally go visit here. The park was so interesting and well done. You really feel like you are fully immersed into the world of Harry Potter. The butter beer was okay in my opinion. I think I would like to try it frozen instead. I've watched the movies but my boyfriend hasn't and after seeing this park it will make any person want to go home and binge watch all the movies.

Very immersive experience - especially at night with all the lights. I wish they have wizards and other characters walking around but really enjoyed the Butter Beer. Very creamy and mildly sweet like cream soda but with a very creamy top and texture on the tongue. Also watched the new years fireworks display from here and had to get spots an hour before midnight. Otherwise it gets extremely packed and difficult to get a good spot.

Okay expect to spend and long lines. Chips are 5 dollars per bag lol. We needed something to hold us over because we wanted to ride more rides, but were hungry at the same time. The simpsons ride is still with a long line, and it isn't a trip without jurassic! Love the Flight of the Hippogriff ride! The ollivanders is pretty awesome as well.

Bitter Butter Beer. I haven't read one Harry Potter Book ,but I've watched at least half of a movie so I'm an expert on this . Nah just kidding , when in the land I thought it would be appropriate to try the Butter Beer since I was with a Harry Potter fan . The beer was bitter. I compared it to the Butter Beer recipe that I found online and tried to imitate at home . That version was light and sweet. That's what I was expecting from this. Nope. There was an aftertaste.Someone in my party got selected at the wizard magic show. That was fun until we thought he got to keep the wand that 'chose him ' in the show. Yes, you can keep it for around 59.95. I rode one ride this visit and it was Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey.The ride gave me sea legs when I got off.I was rocking from side to side .Was it the Butter Beer ( non / alcoholic) ? I still need to experience the land's roller coaster and a non rainy day in the Wizarding World.So I'll be back,and maybe with some legit Harry Potter book knowledge under my belt. The fan says I can borrow one.

How could you NOT love Wizarding World?! It truly makes you feel like you have stepped into a whole new dimension. And I am not even the biggest Harry Potter stan, but this area of Universal is pure magic. While the California version isn't as big as the Orlando park, it still holds up and has all of the classic attractions. The way they make every detail reflect from the films/books is just amazing. There are familiar shops, shows and sights to see that will make you even more eager to receive your letter from Hogwarts! And lastly, you can NEVER finish a trip here without getting some butterbeer. It is literally everything.

Whether you're here for the food, rides, or just to hang out with some muggles, you can expect to have a great time at the wizarding world. I can't exactly say how many times I've been to this space, but I always appreciate that they even have a live performance, which I find to be cool because it's more than a photo op. Overall it's a spot you'll want to visit, there's something for everyone.

Ok, I admit, I'm a Potterhead. I got my wife to watch The Philosopher's Stone with me on a cold, rainy weekend 4 years ago and she's been hooked. We both binge on an episode at least daily (I kid you not). My kids, from 3 to 12, know almost every line and my three year old (who just turned three), had Harry Potter in his regular vocabulary. He even says it with a British accent... I've always wanted to go to "Harry Potter Land" as my family calls it, but with COVID and the travel restrictions, we never had a chance to go to Florida. BUT... Universal Studios Hollywood has a smaller version, that we'll call more "intimate..." For a Potterhead as myself, this was an immersion heaven. The day we went, it was a chilly December, not rainy, but there was definitely a chill. Christmas was in the air and the overall feel of the holidays permeated our walk through City Walk to the main entrance to Harry Potter Land, itself. My wife's family usually holds holiday gatherings at the local amusement parks and we meet up then go on the rides we want, then meet up for dinner. This year, it was Universal Studios Hollywood. As this occasion was a lazy Saturday and we got to the park around noon, we met at Krusty Burger. I'll give a review about that place later. But, I really wasn't in the mood for food as Harry Potter Land was calling out to me. So, after the requisite grub, we entered Harry Potter Land through Olivanders (I have a separate review for that, too). I was beside myself in the fandom and immersion. The artificial snow covered roofs, the cobblestone streets, the small store fronts, the castle...THE CASTLE!!! were just awesome. Mind you, Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade were kind of mashed up since the size of Harry Potter Land in Hollywood was much smaller than Florida, but I enjoyed the whole experience. It truly was an experience. I want to get passes just to spend a few hours or an entire day just at Harry Potter land at least two to three times a month. I enjoy the Potterheads dressed in movie appropriate costumes (I had to get a Gryffindor quidditch jumper (sweater to you Yanks) myself), the shops, the Butterbeer (yes!) and the food (I just love the Three Broomsticks). My kids and I also got wands and we love to wave them in front of the shops and see the special effects. It's an immersive distraction from life and the unfortunate normal that is COVID. You can walk around, stay socially distant, and enjoy a day or evening out (the cold evenings just give the place an appropriate ambiance). Get the app, take the sorting hat quiz and see which house you belong to. Dress as your housemates or your favorite character and bring your favorite Potter book and sit, read and enjoy the sounds and smells of Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley. Then look up occasionally and see the words jump to life right in front of you. Have a warm or cold butter beer (or frozen, yum!) and end your day with a hearty meal at the Three Broomsticks (really, some of the best fish and chips I've had, amusement park or not), then take a leisurely walk back to your car through City Walk. Oh, and you might want to see other attractions or ride some of the rides at Universal, too. There's rides and other things there? Hmmmm. I didn't notice... Revelio!

Probably one of the best things about Universal Studios! They have the famous BUTTERBEER! It's $8 and you can order it regular or frozen. The frozen butterbeer tastes better in my opinion, and yes I've had both in one day! It comes in a plastic cup but you can upgrade to the souvenir mug for $5 extra. The rides are super fun but those wait times aren't. They were all about an hour wait if not longer, although the line did move faster for the roller coaster. The minimum height was 40-48 inches around this area. The Hogwarts Castle was awesome! I've always been a fan of the books and movies since I was a kid and I'm glad my son is too. There are lots of stores for gear, wands, toys, souvenirs and candy. You can literally spend most of the day here!

Really love this part of the park. It's fun to see kids in robes, waving wands, making weird stuff happen. The butter beer is absolutely delicious. The souvenirs actually seem worthwhile for the most part. Just wish they had 3X or 4X shirts! Probably better for me to save my money anyway ;)

This place takes you right into Hogwarts and immerses you into the world of Harry Potter! Regardless of if you are a fan of the movies or not, you are sure to enjoy your stay here! It doesn't even feel like you are in Universal Studios, but really as a student of Hogwarts! So many activities for the kids, but also tremendous sights to see for all ages! The staff are interactive and really help set the magical environment! Everything is on brand in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter! Ride lines do tend to get long, but even standing in line is super fun! There are attractions and vivid distractions as you wait for the grand finale of the ride, you will never be bored!

I'v been a huge fan of Harry Potter for many years, but it took us years to visit this park. The park itself is located in Universal Studios, it is actually much more smaller than I expected. It's basically just a Hogsmeade village with two rides and many stores. Three broomsticks restaurant and Hog's head pub. Entire Harry Potter park was filled with families with kids so it was super crowded. We liked The Harry Potter and forbidden journey ride except it was extremely dark in there that I had trouble walking the entire time. The hippogriff ride was fun but it was only 20 seconds or so. We got express tickets so there was no wait for us for the rides. I wouldn't want to wait in line for 2-3 hours for any rides here. We had lunch and drinks at Hog's head pub, drinks were pricey but it was a good spot to get away from crowds. I was very impressed that the park looks exactly the same as in the movies. A lot of stores to shop if you want souvenirs, The Ollivanders is a great store to get wands or you can do the entire experience to let a wand choose you. We had a great time at Harry Potter park but I did wish it was less crowded!

This was the best area of universal! Great for kiddos and adults who love HP! The decor is spot on, the rides are fun, the butter beer is SO GOOD! Universal, as a whole, is much bigger in Florida, and that is the same for the HP area. I would recommend the Florida location over cali, But if you're already in the California area, this one will do!
