The Woods Review - Williamsburg - New York - The Infatuation

"There are good things and bad things about The Woods. On the plus side, the ceilings are high, there’s a huge backyard, and there’s music you can dance to and a dedicated space for your dancing. The catch is: it gets extremely crowded. If the place is at capacity, and you have to use the bathroom, you’re better off avoiding the line and looking for a bathroom down the street. Still, if all you want to do is drink something relatively cheap and dance with someone you just met, The Woods is here for you." - Bryan Kim

Great location for large gatherings a personal tabs! Has food in back and indoor and outdoor space as well! Bartenders super amazing. And super welcoming! Was an amazing mix of people in the night I was there and it was amazing. Highly recommend this place!

Google
Great spot! Unfortunately they changed the kitchen so the food is different. We went there expecting the amazing food from last summer, and now it's all meat and BBQ. But vibes were great. We went to a hip hop party there on a Saturday afternoon.

This bar has a lesbian themed event every Wednesday. There are quite a few number of gay men at this bar on those nights , but if you are a gay white male over 45 the doormen will not let you enter, citing it is a "private function ," That's a flat out lie. I've asked over 50 people at this event, either lesbian or gay male, if it is a ",private party," and they all say "No," Some friends have offered to bring me in with them as a guest, but the doorman still refuses to let me in and my friend leaves also. I've now tried 4 times in 4 months to get in. I've asked my gay male friends over 45 in the area, not just white, to see if they were allowed. All were allowed except the white men, who were also told it was a private event, It's just flat out discrimination and BS. Many of my lesbian friends were not aware of this until they witnessed it. There are more people that see this now and don't go back. And, yes while it is a lesbian themed event, the gay men that do go and allowed in, say it is/was a great time(music) and that no female cares if gay men are present, but they all say the bouncers/doorman are homophobic to gay men in general every night. No one cares if hetero male and female are present or allowed in - but da.n this place is so blatantl about who they hate, BS and lie.. Until there is a SUGN that says "only females allowed, no one over 45 allowed and that they have a right to reject male customers based on their skin color," then and others will keep proving this hate. This place is listed in many gay male publications for places to visit.M8st publications and advertising for gay nightlife doesnt even say "a lesbian themed event or a private event. Their IG and other similar outlets never oost anything about their Wed nights but they post about every other nights events. The last thing this place would ever host is a gay male themed evening. They only want a certain kind.

My group of friends and I tried have a nice night out in one of the only safe queer spaces in the area. However, the bouncers (who are visibly drinking shots of alcohol in front of us chased by Redbull by the way, drinking on the job is insane) rejected my 25 year old friend bc her ID wouldn’t scan correctly then proceeded to harass her about it (this is the only bar it’s never scanned at) and we gone here most Wednesdays and were starting to love and consider this our regular. When she proceeded to walk away upset (rightfully so since they were incredibly harassing), they all made fun of her incredibly loudly calling her waterworks and all this mean stuff. It made me feel incredibly unwanted and othered and completely unlike what woods Wednesdays are supposed to be about.

Google
I’ve been to the Woods countless times over the years and loved the atmosphere and clientele. The bouncers are often extremely rude and tonight was no exception. My partner who I have been to the woods with 10+ times was really rejected. It got to the point where the bouncers were laughing in our face and calling us cry babies. my partner is 25 years old and has an out of state ID. I’m not going to lie I have known of at least five people who are under age who have gotten into this bar. The treatment that we took tonight was nothing short of insane. Safe spaces for queer people, especially black queer people are a few and far between. Receiving this treatment from another black person is extremely hurtful. As someone who has celebrated birthdays at the woods and has some of the most important moments of their lives, celebrated at this bar, it’s nothing more than a kick in the face. I am utterly disgusted .

Google
I was racial profile at the door by a black lesbian security guard. I waited on line and she said you habla ingles, i speak perfect English and followed by its a private party while people Behind me we’re stating “I wonder if we can get it” they all got in but since i don’t habla i was not let in. For all that crap they talk about Trump i got discriminated by people of color.

Hello! My name is Ash Goetz and I’ve been a loyal patron of The Woods for years. Tonight I had a really horrible experience with the bouncers at the Woods. It’s lesbian night on Wednesdays and that’s when I come with my partner and friends. Tonight, my ID did not scan: I am 25 and have been let in many times to the Woods. Tonight, the bouncer denied me because of this. I understand IDs don’t always scan and that’s the policy. The last time I went to the woods, my ID didn’t scan just like this time but they let me in because it seems like one of the bouncers were in a good mood? I’ve worked in bartending and know how clubs work: my friends and I were very understanding. They were be adamant that I were to be denied access. I called the cops so they could come and verify my ID, but they never showed. The bouncers were talking, gossiping, and taking shots calling me a cry baby (lol) even though I did not cry…they kept laughing and being immature that they were denying me. I am 25 years old and there were many underage people getting into the club. It’s crazy because my ID scans at TSA but not the Woods. I don’t know….it just leaves me a bad taste in the mouth about a place I love and have supported for years as a lesbian. Anyways, if management could fix this that would be amazing. And yes, I will be bringing my passport next time but even in that self is crazy. Love the Woods but this is just not great: me and my friends left!

Google
Bartenders are racist, throws drinks at customers and are very aggressive, completely uncalled behavior. Not a safe space, which is so sad because this place USED to be amazing, but new bartenders and bouncers are so beyond unprofessional and act ridiculous. Would not recommend going.

Yelp
Perfect bar to randomly pop into! I stopped in The Woods for a quick bite and drink before heading to another spot and I forgot how much I liked this spot after not visiting for a few years. It's perfect for large groups or a random date spot. It's even better in the summer when the outside courtyard is open and you can grab food and sit out there. I took off one star as the drinks are a little pricey given the size of them.

Yelp
I hate to have to leave a review like this for one of the only lesbian-catered nightlife spaces in NYC, but the treatment that my friends and I received last night at the Woods by the bouncers was so upsetting and violent that I have no choice but to do so. The bouncers refused to take one member of our party's New York City ID, claiming that she needed to have a New York State ID. Our friend is not a US citizen and had the only ID she typically needs to get into bars and clubs, as her passport is not in English and wouldn't have been able to verify her date of birth. The two male bouncers said our friend's ID was rejected and that she wouldn't be able to get in with the rest of us, which is a completely unsafe practice--splitting up a group of visibly queer people on a night out when alcohol is being consumed is never, never ok. As different members of our group began to ask the bouncers to either talk the issue out or to give us a moment to make a game plan after we waited nearly an hour to get into the bar in the first place and didn't want our group to get split up, the bouncers began raising their voices at us, telling us to get out of line and escalating the situation. They then accused me of calling them names and began insulting and humiliating our group. The bouncers completely denied us entry based on these claims of name calling and started letting people behind us into the bar, barely checking IDs and accepting photographs of people's IDs on their phone because they were too busy yelling at and being belligerent with my group, who refused to leave the line due to the unfair treatment we had received from the moment they decided to deny our non-American friend. Even after apologizing to these men, they continued to berate us and deny us entry. All in all, this was a completely upsetting and humiliating experience to say the least. Organizers at The Woods: I am BEGGING you to hire queer bouncers for Woods Wednesdays, ESPECIALLY during pride month, because the bouncers that were working last night were violently misogynistic. The whole experience felt like dealing two men who were on a power trip and got their feelings hurt when they received pushback on their unacceptable behavior, which I'm sure many non-cis men have been on the receiving end of before. This entire insulting experience should NOT have happened, and I am honestly not itching to go back to The Woods anytime soon until there are queer bouncers hired for Wednesday nights. Queer non-Americans--beware!!!!

Yelp
I went to this bar not knowing anything about it and i was so pleasantly surprised! This space is divided up by indoor and outdoor and each area has a different vibe. The indoor is very dance heavy which was so much fun. The music was great and it was busy but not cramped. I often have a hard time finding dancing bars that don't just play EDM (which is not my fav) but they played a lot of hip hop which was fun. The outdoor space is really great for sitting and drinking/eating. We only bought fries and cauliflower wings but they were good! It has a lot of cute lights and plants as well for the decor.
google avatar

Kate C.

Yelp
Portion size was crazy! This burger actually was my entire face lol. The flavors were good and the fries were good, but I'd argue that the fries are too salty and the burger could use a little bit more sauce on it (or on the side)
google avatar

Yelp
Met some friends here. Had a great time. It's very far from me, but if I'm in the area again, I'll make it a point to stop by..... Oh, and the fish tacos were amazing!
google avatar

Joseph T.

Yelp
Came here for some late night drinks and entertainment after the venue we were at earlier closed. The group was hoping for some karaoke, but that wasn't available on the night we came. There is a stage in the back for performers. Simple draft list with four macros. Lots of spirits and cocktail options. Bartender was extremely welcoming of our group and served us quickly.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been here a handful of times now and it's always a decent time. I love the outdoor back area because the inside can get very hot and uncomfortable when theres a lot of people. Will note that they close the back at a certain time (maybe midnight?) The bartenders here are always very nice as well especially to women which is a huge plus. The music is often very basic here but sometimes thats just what you need!
google avatar

Miri V.

Yelp
I had a great time the music was on point, the drinks were strong and the food delicious. A lot of friendly great people. Absolutely going back! !
google avatar

Samantha C.

Yelp
The food here is surprisingly better than you'd expect. The music however always falls short. So much potential but the music is outdated and impossible to dance to.
google avatar

Neha G.

Yelp
A local bar with a Texas vibe. Casual with indoor & outdoor space. The music is very loud so it's hard to have a conversation if you're dining there early. The place gets very busy later in the evening. Great for big groups. They have DJs playing music late into the night. No cover charge. Mexican food items on the menu along with fries and other sides. Tried the veggie tacos (2 for $10) with flour shells. The tacos were larger than I expected so you'll def be full with one order. The shells were crispy (likely fried). The yuca fries & sauce were excellent!
google avatar

Jeremy J.

Yelp
Did you have to ruin Taco Tuesday? We're not stupid, making the tacos half the size no longer makes it a deal.

Yelp
TLDR: great bar with fun music and option for outdoor seating! Came here on a Friday night for the first time after seeing a concert in the area. Music was a good mix of 90s/00s/current RnB and pop. The only drink I got was the passionate lovers draft cocktail. It was some passion fruit type drink. The crowd was pretty mixed, not just one type of demographic was there. Overall, super chill bar that I think is worth checking out. Can wait to come back!

Yelp
I do enjoy the woods, I usually come on Wednesday for WLW and tbh it's one of the best clubs/bars I've been to in BK. I also spent my new years 24 here and had a lot of fun. The bartenders are usually nice and the back yard area is really nice!

Yelp
Great vibe on Wednesday night, food is yummy, music is great, had a lot of good memories :)

Angelo C.

Yelp
This place needs to fire Darius, as I was exiting, he literally pushed me out, no sort of customer service after paying and buying drinks, do not come here if you expect good treatment
google avatar

Sam S.

Yelp
Cheap drinks, loud and grungy indoors, nice outdoor patio. Glad there was no cover charge the night we went.
google avatar

Pax S.

Yelp
Overpriced, understaffed. I was surprised there was a bouncer (?) checking ID when there were only 3 of us there. The draft cocktails were bizarre and I tried three which I did not like any! We decided to leave as soon as we could. The food available was severely overpriced and I was especially disappointed at that.

Yelp
Akiva- looks like Jesus, bartends as a god!! Highly recommend coming down! Good drinks!! Strong drinks! Akiva is our favorite!
google avatar

Angelique C.

Yelp
Very nice drinks, friendly staff and good ambiance. Good dancing music in the backyard/outdoor area . I suggest the painkiller frozen beverage
google avatar

Yelp
Loud! Young crowd. Good music but no talking, it was very loud. Hard to order, it was VERY LOUD. Large space, drinks were strong but not tasty. I think there was food but do you want to get wasted?! Huh? What? I can't hear you. It's very loud!
google avatar

Priscilla L.

Yelp
Drinks are affordable! Music is amazing! Atmosphere is very chill during the week but on the weekends it's a PARTIIIIIIII! Weekends will have food out back in the patio and the patio is great for smoking. It gets hot on the dance floor but worth it. There is a cover charge $ & the DJ is not cool with song recommendations!

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday night with a friend one time. As two POC women we were *hopeful* ... to a fault. When we went, there were like no POC, if they were there, they beelined to the restaurant in the back. All the hits were genuinely 2014 bangers but like... the high-school-freshmen-welcome event kind. Sorry by Bieber and That's What I Like by Bruno Mars and Timber by Pitbull... So to some degree, this may have a 5 star experience to someone. But... I can't relate. I had a yt man ask me to teach him how to do the reject and a yt girl asked my friend and I for a belt so they can play LIMBO. TLDR: To each their own, but this is not the going-out vibe I was looking for.
google avatar

Lauren C.

Yelp
Came here for my birthday looking for a place to dance and be surrounded with good vibes. I've been to the woods once before and remembered having a good time. It wasn't too crowded, I was very comfortable with the amount of people there. The big downfall was the music...I like music I can sing and dance to but the DJs were a little inconsistent with it. They also played each song too long. I'm sure they noticed that they played songs too long or when they played a song no one knew or liked because the dance floor went empty. We didn't stay for a long time but for the time we were there we had a good time. It looked like people just went there to have a good time, definitely a nice vibe.
google avatar

Yelp
3.5 stars! I came here with a large group of friends for a going away party. We came around 10 pm and it was pretty empty. So we grab drinks and chilled. They have a outdoor area in the back and a second enclosed area in the back where they sell food and more drinks. They also have coat check for $5. The place gave me like a 70s disco vibe with a disco ball and 70s vibe decor. After 11:30 the place got packed and the music got really good. We started dancing up a storm so please wear comfortable shoes ladies! I wore heeled booties and my feet were killing me. The staff was nice and quick. Please dont order the mai tai that drink was so gross. Also the bathrooms were gross omg. They def need a bathroom attendant and better bathrooms. It was gross. Other than that it is a good place to chill with friends where u can drink and get food after in the back. Also the outdoor area is perfect for summer. I would come back but def with sneakers and in the summer time.
google avatar

Jasmine S.

Yelp
Love it! Guys had to pay $5, and girls were free on a Saturday night. The music was a mix of hip hop and chill reggae? The floor was crowded enough to be fun but not too crowded to be annoying. There's an outdoor area which leads to another building, which is kind of like a barn. Back there in the barn building you can buy tacos + nachos! the bar is not crowded, and there are picnic tables for large groups. We were able to bring out some games like connect four; and it was a perfect time to pull out catchphrase on our phone. I really like this place because there's 3 spaces with different vibes, suitable for a large group!
google avatar

Nicholas G.

Yelp
Large bar with a big backyard, dance floor, food and plenty of bathrooms. Great for dancing.
google avatar

Vinay S.

Yelp
Roomy venue bar with a solid open indoor and outdoor concept and cool spicy drinks/decent Mexican food best served as a night out with a large crowd rather than just a couple of friends. $14 a drink; $17 a dish. 3.75/5 stars as a night bar.
google avatar

Serena C.

Yelp
Reasonably priced drinks. Music is off the Hook. Would go back again when I am in the neighbor hood again

Helen G.

Yelp
The Woods is one of my favorite bars to go to on the weekends! Sam, Christian, and Ferg are the best bartenders and make sure you're having the best time. If this wasn't obvious, take care of them and they will take care of you, literally felt so welcome here. The food is also amazing (highly recommend the steak burrito bowl).
google avatar

Ryan M.

Yelp
Super awesome spot. The drinks are delicious, the staff are friendly, and in addition to the spacious inside there's a dope outside area with more seating AND another bar. If you wanna take a break from the music inside, you can go sit on a bench or at the bar outside and chill for a bit before getting back in it. 10/10 would recommend.
google avatar

Yoav E.

Yelp
Thursday night at 7:30pm, place is l i t e r a l l y empty and the bouncer won't let me come in because I have a scooter with me. Not even apologetic about it, just straight up laughs in my face. Just wanted to grab a quick drink with a friend. Instead of being accommodating this guy was disrespectful and rude to a regular.
google avatar

Noelle N.

Yelp
The vibe here was fun but we didn't stay too long. The chicken fries are really good and crispy! Such a large order too, would recommend sharing with a friend or two.

Yelp
My colleague Grace kept raving on and on how awesome is The Woods so me and my peeps hopped into an Uber pool heading down to Brooklyn from East Village. Wow holy moly what a spacious venue split into two sections and fully stock bar. The front of the bar is where the music was totally rocking as towards the back where me and my friends decided to chill there. I love the nature decor. I picked a table with benches in a red room with a chandelier hung above us and a deer head mounted to the wall. Ooooo #score another bar that serves food...Grace recommended many things like Fish Taco, Fried Chicken Sandwich, and etc. Food: Grace - I think it was the Steak Taco + Fish Taco Kim - Fried Chicken Sandwich...definitely tastes yummy with that spicy mayo sauce but I prefer chicken wings for sure ::wink:: Me - Fish Taco....hubba hubba I like how the chef toasted the flour tortilla and damn that's a huge piece of fish topped with that delicious coleslaw Spencer - I am not sure what kind of Burrito but I finished his yummy Cheese Fries which I asked the cashier for more queso por favor =) Spencer's Friend - he got a beer from the other side Yummy infused water at the cash wrap. OMFG you have to bookmark this chill spot. I can't wait to come back and try their Happy Hour Menu ($3 Wells, $3 Yeungling, $1 off everything) which ends at 8:00pm!
google avatar

Simal S.

Yelp
Very chill and fun place to spend your day with your friends!! Would definitely go again to get drinks and meet with friends. Music is great and the vibe is very joyful. It has both outdoors and indoors. They also have food options which were pretty good
google avatar

Carolina S.

Yelp
Great spot with good ambiance and music (DJ onsite). Very spacious with a nice outdoor patio. Smoking shouldn't be allowed. It becomes suffocating for those that don't smoke. Drinks were basic but good. I recommend it. Quality: 3/5 IG Worthy: 2/5 Price: 5/5 Drinks: 4/5 Service: 5/5

Terra S.

Yelp
We love the Woods!! We come every Wednesday for dinner and the party. The bartenders are so nice and make the drinks strong and we are obsessed with the pile of chicken and fries. Everything on the menu is a banger as are the vibes. Would give 10 stars if I could.

Yelp
As one of the more multifaceted venues in Brooklyn, The Woods has become a destination of sorts over the years. They have cemented their status as a proper spot to get one's drink and dance on, all while inebriated with some meal options. The hipsters of Williamsburg have a hell of a venue on their hands as there is a decent crowd here night in and out. The setup of the place is pretty versatile, as the place boasts a spacious interior with an equally impressive outdoor courtyard / patio. Since most people are here to drink, the bar is usually the place to be and the bartenders certainly know how to make a stiff drink. Food was never much of a thing here in the past, save for a few sandwiches and the occasional bar fare, but The Bear (https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-bear-brooklyn) has really been a blessing. They've brought to the table some Mexican staples from fat burritos to tasty tacos. On weekend nights, the place gets packed and if they're not sporting live music of any kind, then they're featuring DJs rocking some semblance of house / trance music with some occasional hip hop flair. The people seem to love it and thus this place has been a good alternative to the clubbing scene so typical of Manhattan. So why not a perfect score? For one, the ventilation. The place is so stuffy already and with the added summer heat and body heat from the crowd, it can seriously become unbearable. Then, there is the bathrooms. It's not as disgusting as other nightlife spots, but it's also not a pretty sight during the weekends. The communal sink is interesting, but maintenance is the real issue here. Then the biggie, which is what a lot of the complaints seem to revolve around, which is the service. It's an all around effort unfortunately, which is to deal with the 'tude from any bouncer action or the bartenders who are usually a bit short staffed behind the counter. As a result, sometimes they aren't in the mood to be hospitable when it gets crowded. These weren't issues back in the day ('cept the ventilation), so I know they can be better. Until then, it's 3 stars for an average to above average experience at one of Billyburg's more well known establishments. __________ (#1) Because why bother going into the city?

Ybu 2.

Yelp
This really hurts me to write this but... The Woods use to be a Legendary place on Fri and Sat. Did it get ner ownership or something? WTH is going on there? Truly embarrassing. I just wanna say the staff is actually great. Bartenders and Bouncers doing their job. Musci NOTE: I'm basing it off the 3 times I was there since it reopened. Aug - Sept 2021 The main issue here is deal breaker for alot of us who remember. The MUSIC changed and so did the demographic. The MUSIC SUCKED so bad! No Pop, No R&B, No Hip Hop, No Salsa/Merengue. NOTHING. I watched the DJ play a awful cross between odd Techno with NO Transition The other and last time I went was Unbearable! The DJ played this music that wasn't EDM or Techno. It was bizzare. The DJ SUCKED again . No popular music. A place packed with mostly young white kids who CANNOT dance. Gone were the Hispanic, Black, Asian and cool Caucasian college. Tho ever is in charge of this place. Please revert back to the way is SHOULD BE.
google avatar

Victor P.

Yelp
The staff was great, the food was good but DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU EXPECT TO CONVERSE WITH OTHERS. There is no concern about damage to patron's ear drums. The decibel level makes conversation impossible. There were no breaks, just constant, unabated noise. The noise level is greater than sitting in front of an amplifier at a punk concert. Requests to lower the volume, ironically, fall on deaf ears. I'm very certain that the levels exceed any safe level, possibly opening the place to someone taking legal action. I've been next to airplane engines that were not as loud, not an exaggeration.
google avatar

Yelp
Friendly staff and laid back vibes. It's the perfect place to get together with friends because there's a dance floor and live dj. They also have video games if you're into that.

Yelp
The Woods is one of my favorite bars in Williamsburg. I came across this bar when I was taking a walk with my friend in Brooklyn. The bar is located near the bridge between Brooklyn and Manhattan. I have enjoyed drinking rum and tequila cocktails. Furthermore, we also occasionally enjoy small chats with the owner. The DJ something plays great EDM music which helps make the experience more fun. There are always people drinking and singing there which make it easier for one to make drinking partners.

Yelp
MDW weekend & Brooklyn was my destination. After a day of bar hoping in the area we needed a place to dance off all the calories my friend mentioned this place. We arrived at a good time crowded enough but still with plenty of room to move around & dance. First stop was the bar.. Beer & Fireball were the drinks of choice, can't go wrong good drinks. Didn't take much to get us on the dance floor danced the night away. For quick breaks & some air we headed outside nice area, some seating best thing they have food back their great idea didn't try any this time around. The place itself is a pretty decent size, big bar area when u enter great seating outdoor. Music was really good nice mix a little bit of everything from pop, hip house & reggaeton good music keeps the crowd moving. Great way to end our night, good place to get together chill, drink & dance.

Yelp
I went there on 9/28 TL;DR: This place has good music, an overall good crowd, you can dance there, but the customer service is terrible and not worth another trip for me. Pros - MUSIC: Decent Hip-Hop and R&B - CROWD: The crowd is a decent and overall friendly / cool people - FOOD: They serve food pretty late and it's good Cons - CUSTOMER SERVICE: I ordered a negroni and the bartender rudely asks "why would you order that"--seemed like she didn't know how to make it or didn't want to find all the ingredients. It takes her a while to finish my order then hands me my drinks as if I've somehow offended her life for my order. - CUSTOMER SERVICE: I ordered food and like 5 minutes after getting it then bouncer closes the back and tells me I need to eat in the main bar area (there's a back patio area to eat / drink that's less crowded). Wish they would have given me a heads up.

Yelp
Fun spot, large indoor/outdoor venue & great bar food. I went on a Saturday night, a short wait to enter. The ladies were free & for guys I believe the cover was $7. The 2 DJs playing that night were good playing mainly hip hop and top 40 pop. The bar could use a little help, takes some time to get a drink when crowded.

Yelp
The cocktail wasn't really that good. But the live music was awesome, and I do enjoy the chill and laidback vibes there.

This place is a joke. The staff is so insanely rude and it takes forever to get drinks. But the main problem before even stepping foot in this bar are the bouncers at the door. There were 2 bouncers at the door and they criticized where I decided to park. So I told them it really wasn't their business where I park because they work at the bar and they aren't the NYPD or traffic police. They then proceeded to tell me that they weren't letting my in the bar until I moved my car. I told them they had no control over that because they work AT A BAR. My friend and I left because it wasn't worth my time arguing with these jerks. This isn't the first time I have been there though were they have been disgustingly rude to costumers trying to get in.

Yelp
So much potential. Despite being from NJ, I would make this my go to bar spot if they fixed a few things. It took forever to get a drink at the bar. I think it was around 6:30 PM on a Saturday or so. The bartender we ended up with made the other bartender and the bar back seem like rookies. So I assumed two things...he was pompous and that he could back it up. My first assumption was right. The Dark and Stormy I had tasted like pure ginger. It was way too much. I'll give him props for apologizing about the wait for a drink. It was weird, because we sat down, looked back, and the bar was empty. The backyard is cool and was packed with people. They have some Mexican food back there. The bathroom situation is hilarious when it comes time to wash your hands. It's a communal sink, so no ones hands are clean when they unlock the stalls. Potential is there.

Yelp
I've been to the woods a few times and I like the venue, but this time I was threatened by a bouncer for returning to my friends after using the bathroom near closing. We already called the Uber and I was collecting them to leave, but the bouncer was unrelenting and threatened violence on me. I wasn't drunk or aggressive. I spend money in this establishment and I wasn't trying to cause any problems. I've seen an increase in unprovoked assaults from bouncers in NYC and The Woods needs to get their employees under control and teach them respect. If they want their establishment to be successful, the bare minimum is don't assault the patrons.
