The Wool Factory is a fabulous venue to host a gathering. The space is inviting in a warm and open manner. I felt a nostalgic yet modern vibe. Versatile in its applications, as envisioned by the high ceilings, large windows, industrial metal columns, a bar, clean restrooms, and nod to the history of it being a manufacturing building at the turn of the century.

We did a full buyout of the space for a 160 person wedding in May 2025, and I would highly recommend this venue for a wedding! There are many nice picturing-taking spots around the property. We were able to get some more nature focused pictures outside and then moved inside to capture the wonderful industrial feel of the space. We had about 20 tables of 8-9 people and it didn't feel cramped. The food was amazing and almost exactly like what we tried at the tasting. The staff was great during the event. We had to move our ceremony inside and they did the room flip to cocktail hour super quickly! Although it was pricey, we appreciate that the Wool Factory handled everything that had to do the with tables, we did not need to rent plates, napkins, glassware, etc and it was nice to just have all of that tied in with the food and beverage. The only downsides I would mention was that communication was a bit slow (I often had to send a followup email to get a response), the beer options were not given to us until 30 days before, and we had to rent chairs for the tables since they only provided benches. Also they had a strict "no bare feet" on the dance floor, which is totally understandable, but I wish I would have know beforehand so that I could have warned my guests to bring flats in addition to their heels. Overall, it was a beautiful venue and we had an amazing day!

Google
We held our annual benefit dinner for 160 people here and had a great experience. Every element of the event planning process went super smooth. The food and drinks were great, and the venue accommodated all of our guests' food restrictions. Wool Factory staff are wonderful to work with!

Google
Love working in this space. The views is pleasant and the space is so welcoming. Great coffee and nice staff. Only took off a star because there used to be several power strips people could charge their electronics but they seem to have stopped doing that. It makes it difficult to work at one of the more central tables but it is what it is.

Was there during Oyster Festival. Tried chocolate stout. Pretty good! Folks worked very hard 👍 the ordering system was terrible though... The supervisory level needs to work on things better. Three stars because the guys out front did such hard work. Only one star for being so disorganized at the managerial level.

Really good coffee and lots of space to seat and work. One of our favorites in Cville.

Google
Wonderful experience at The Wool Factory! We had an intimate Rehearsal Dinner for thirty-five in The Broadcloth. The cocktail hour was handled efficiently with two bartenders and delicious passes canapés. Many of our guests commented on how pleasant and cozy the atmosphere was. Dinner, served family style was outstanding! The highlights were the amazingly moist and flavorful chicken, and the apple cobbler. Outstanding. These folks know how to put on an event! The communication and attention to detail before and during our event were exemplary.

Yelp
What an amazing space; architecturally stunning! The wine coffee shop has these amazing "pretzelants" (soft pretzel meets croissant) and cookies. On a nice day, you can sit on patio at several different styles of seating arrangements. If you time it right, you can see the train roll by.

Yelp
The best this venue has to offer is it's ambiance in its expansive indoor and outdoor setting which overlooks the river. It's a very cool industrial looking spot for food and drinks. They have a very efficient system of ordering on phones, though it does take away from the classic traditional aspect of restaurant service. With regards to the food, I was not wowed by it. The pricing didn't make sense to me. The factory fries which I think is the best thing on the menu that I tried so I recommend this dish if you are here for food, are around 15$. While the smash burger is 5$. A cocktail is 13$. Something seems off if fries are the most expensive dish ordered even if they are "loaded fries". The drink called "golden thread" if im not mistaken was delicious. If you like ginger then order this!! Overall, I cherished my time at this place.

Yelp
[8:53 PM EST] This place is so beautiful and has great drinks and food. The indoor dining area is flanked with large, almost floor to ceiling industrial black windows and decorated with real plants (I saw a lemon tree!). The outdoor area has string lights and appropriately spaced patio furniture with real fireplaces at most seats! I ordered a 6 oz of the Looms on the Horizon and a side of Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese could have been an entree with the amount that they gave me! I loved the garlic crumble that came with it. My friend also got an old fashioned and said it's the best old fashioned he's ever had. Social distancing is heavily enforced at this location and I felt safe dining in here. I will definitely be visiting again when I am in the Charlottesville area!

Yelp
*This review is only for Selvedge Brewing* Came to Wool factory via a gift card. We decided to go with Selvedge brewing as the broadcloth was too high for us price wise. I ordered the poplin, an Italian Pilsner, which was excellent. One of those rare instances where a draft tastes like it's description. We may have erred in treating this place as a dinner spot, however. The food is more of the "in addition to drinks" variety. I had the fried chicken sandwich, which I enjoyed. However, the side order of fries was a bit bland, also I didn't understand why they call it "Selvedge sauce" when they can just call it mustard. Check this place out if you're into brewing, but if you're looking for a meal this might not be it.

Yelp
One of the hidden gems of Charlottesville, The Wool Factory does not disappoint. The food and craft beer were beyond satisfying. Everything is locally sourced and made and DELICIOUS. Seriously, I can't believe it took us this long to get out there. Every bite was incredible, the sauces (especially the hot bbq sauce) completely blew us away with their uniqueness bold flavors. Very Covid, friends, family friendly, this is now going to be our go to spot for everything. Tons of space, beautifully designed and situated on a gorgeous river. There's nothing this wouldn't work well for plus delicious food.

Yelp
New fun space! Connects to the rivanna trail. Beautiful views of the river. Plenty of parking in the back near willow tree and up top. Two different ways to approach venue. Food was delicious and the mock tails were refreshing! Definitely coming back soon!

Yelp
I came for the first time tonight (Thursday Dinner) for a going away party. I was very impressed with the old factory upon arrival and enjoyed learning about its history! Always a plus for me! From what I believe this is a reservation only type of place. They have very large and long tables both inside and outside (I added pictures) for groups of many sizes and I'm sure even wedding receptions. That being said, there were some other things going on when we went but we sat at a table with our group. As for the ordering process they seem to prefer to bring things out to people as they come and go instead of waiting for everyone to order at once (which I like). My husband and I decided to try a little bit of everything! We had the pretzel loaf to start which was delicious! It came baked in a little loaf with salt on top and accompanied with a sweet ground mustard and a really yummy, melty, cheese dip. We also had an order of hot wings that came out hot and perfect! A little crunch, no sog, and the flavors were great! Next I had a salad which was very fresh and came already topped with a vinaigrette. I also had the grilled summer squash which came with yellow and green squash grilled and topped with olive oil. The veggies weren't overdone and the slight seasoning was perfect! We shared an order of the mushroom tacos which came with an assortment of mushrooms, veggies, enchilada sauce, and cheese inside. They were delicious! Lastly we had dessert which was also great! Their special was a mixed berry Hand Pie served warm with Ice Cream. The pie itself was amazing and the crust was flaky on the outside and warm and soft in the middle. So good. I had a cherry soda to drink but they also provide you with water and cups to drink from. My husband had a few different beers they had on tap and they came in so many sizes! Perfect for if you like to sample! All in all I would definitely go back and hope that sometime in the future I can host my own function at the Wool Factory! TIP: Right in the courtyard outside of the restaurant is a wine and cafe shop where you can find all types of items to bring home with you! Jjo

Yelp
The space is absolutely gorgeous inside and out. I only wish the food had been as good. I'm sorry to say I was pretty disappointed in the meal.

Yelp
really lousy customer service. I went out of my way to patronize them when covid was awful last winter and they first opened; you'd think they would care to foster relationships with customers. But twice now I've called and asked if they'd set aside a loaf of bread or a pastry--happy to pre-pay even, and twice they've said "sure!". And then I drive out of my way to get it and I'm told "we won't set things aside for people. Will not patronize them again.

Yelp

Yelp
I attended an event here and had a great time. The venue was was great and the staff was excellent, especially Courtney and Erin who went above and beyond to ensure that their guests were having a good time.

Yelp
Great distancing of tables during covid. The food is quick to come to your table and you order through a QR code. I have been unimpressed by the food but it is a beautiful location although out of the way of most Charlottesville restaurants
