The leasing staff is great I always go to Kevin, he’s polite, always follows up, and shows he cares about the residents and their concerns. Jordan (assistant manager) and Sam (general manager) are always available to help out, take phone calls and both are very quick and polite to respond to emails to help resolve issues. I am very happy to be living at the Wren and would recommend considering this location. The maintenance staff are very polite and respectful. Thanks! #theWren

The Assistant Manager Jordan gave me a tour. I was impressed that I was both accommodated for being late which could have easily been cancelled elsewhere and the property is very impressive. JBG Properties in general tend to be. The amenity spaces were plentiful. I love that there is a coworking space, but honestly any of the lounges I'm sure could double as that as well. The apartments were great prices for the views and quality work in the building and I even noticed that there were name brand appliances. I was also surprised I didn't find anything to pull my red pen out to mark as an issue. I would highly recommend.

Update*****: their units have issues with flooding. A unit on my floor flooded and they ramped up the “sewage” on my utilities bill in order to repair the damage, saying it’s billed by the usage of the floor. they will ruin your credit score living here— their billing department is terrible. Kevin in the leasing department is also extremely rude and becomes emotionally volatile when speaking with you. There has been multiple occasions where non-residents have been trespassing and there is no improvements in security. I have been living in the apartment building for 5 years and would urge anyone considering moving in to run away and run fast. From unprofessionalism to unsafe living spaces, you will definitely find and experience better anywhere in DC. Residents leave bags of garbage in the hall, there has been fights in front of my door and blood left on the walls from it, amongst other things.

The first 6 months were great, but after almost 2 years, it honestly feels like I’m living in a chaotic college dorm. People leave trash in the hallways, there are fights outside my door almost daily, and the whole place feels unprofessional and unsafe. You can definitely find better in DC.

I’ve lived at The Wren for two years, and I love it! The rooftop and pool area feel like a luxury hotel, and the amenities are top-notch. The building is clean and super quiet I’ve never heard a neighbor. The gym is huge, the mailroom is practical, and the 24/7 concierge and staff are amazing. It’s safe, never too loud, and there’s always parking nearby. The leasing office is so accommodating. Highly recommend living here!

Been in this building for a couple of weeks now and everything has been great so far. Amenities are top-notch and the concierge staff members have been great. Our leasing agent, Kevin, was a pleasure to work with and was very responsive in the time leading up to and following move-in. For such a big building, it's been pretty quiet notwithstanding street noise (our unit faces Florida Avenue; your mileage may vary in one of the units facing the internal courtyard). This is my first time living in one of these "luxury" apartment complexes after a decade-plus in D.C. bopping around row houses and a smaller, barebones apartment building, and it's been a treat, especially being next door to a grocery store and near a couple of established neighborhood restaurants/bars. Moreover, the level of professionalism we've experienced both in terms of the staff and overall building design do not have me longing for the days when an AWOL landlord "had a guy" for maintenance or emails from a leasing office were from a different assistant manager every few months. Granted, we haven't lived here long yet; staff turns over and buildings age, etc. There are a good number of students here who have all seemed pretty chill to this point, but in a year or two a cohort of hellions could come through. It is what it is, but for now my girlfriend and I are happy to be here.

STEER CLEAR IF YOU CANT STAND BUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so excited to move to Wren, but I have had a terrible experience here. While the amenities are great this place is INFESTED with fruit flies, and the building has done nothing about this. I have been dealing with fruit flies and drain flies since the second month of my year lease. They have had pest control come and no one can ever figure out the problem. I even go in my friends rooms in the building and I see fruit flies flying around in their room as well. Due to these persistent flies for several months, the fact that they fly in your food, and the fact that i have a phobia of bugs I don’t feel comfortable eating in my apartment and have to go to the lounge for every meal. I have had to seek a therapist because of my consistent anxiety in my home not knowing when I will see fly flying around in my home. When I asked management to accommodate they said if I wanted to move to a different apartment I would have to reapply to a new apartment and pay a higher lease. I was not going to pay hundreds of dollars more a month and sign a new lease due to all I have experience. I suggest you steer clear from this apartment unless you are okay with killing flies on a weekly basis. Currently now I am uncomfortable in my apartment everyday and I have to wait for my lease to end since I would have to pay to get out my lease early. Hopefully management will have a better accommodations at that point, but this has ruined my first apartment experience for me and will cause me to be paranoid everyday in future apartments. HIGHLY disappointed. We are paying too much money to have persistent bug problems.

The Wren is a beautiful building with brand new amenity spaces that rival any other gym, rooftop, and courtyard in DC. Bobby, Bernard, Lucas, and the rest of the Wren team make living in an apartment feel like home. I would 5/5 recommend this space to anyone looking to live in this area of DC.

Yelp
Don't live at the Wren. The Wren is not a clean place to live. The garbage receptacles break frequently. Resulting is piles of trash in the hallways. Residents leave their trash bags in the hallway outside their door. Hallways smell. The Wren is not a safe place to live. Residents do what they want. Police are called frequently to handle various situations. Loud music, smoke on balconies, on the roof. The Wren is a smoke free environment - management and building security do not enforce the rules. The Wren has poor management. The communication to the residents is unprofessional and lacking. The enforcements of the rules make this dorm-like attitude persist. The front desk staff is rude. They do not answer the phone frequently. The Wren is not an enjoyable place to live. it is unsafe, unclean, and miserable for residents. From a safety perspective - elevators are out of service without notice. Front doors to the building are out of service without notice to the residents. The Wren is not a safe place to live.

Yelp
I loved the Wren. I had to find an apartment close to campus for my last year of undergrad and, though pricy, The Wren was soooo worth it. Perfect location with perfect amenities. Every penny I paid was worth it. It seems like every minute detail of luxury living was sorted through, but even down to motion sensors trash shoots. Definitely not an apartment I wanted to move out of. I try to find pieces of The Wren in every apartment I've toured after it. If you can afford it, I 100% recommend with no hesitations.

Yelp
Bobby, from the front desk is the most hospitable, helpful and charming building managers I've encountered. He makes you feel welcome, genuinely cares about residents having the best living experience there and his smile and positive spirit is contagious. A close second to Bobby are the epic rooftop and views at the Wren. - Amanda Hite

Yelp
Love this place, really glad I chose The Wren, especially with my cross country move. Bobby & his security team are particularly wonderful. The entire leasing office goes above and beyond to make folks feel at home here.

Yelp
I've been living at The Wren for a month and it has exceeded all expectations. Courtney was my leasing consultant and I received top notch service from him. He was so helpful, quick responding, and patient in working with me as I chose an apartment and in my transition to The Wren. The concierge team is the BEST! Bobby is the main man and makes sure everything is going well with you and your living situation. Haven't seen service like the one Bobby provides in some time. Bernard and JB are wonderful too! They have been genuine, warm, welcoming, and amiable. They have answers to all your questions, are helpful and make sure you're good. There's nothing like seeing anyone in the concierge team when you come home. It's so easy to strike a conversation with any of them. The building is immaculate! It's very clean and the amenities spaces are well-kept. The building is safe and everyone wears a mask. Residents are friendly. I can go on and on.. All positive. I love living in this community and my apartment is the best I've lived in. Everything is new and stylish. SO happy to call The Wren home.
