The Wren

I have been contemplating moving apartments within Shaw, D.C. forever...and finally committed to starting tours all over the neighborhood. I instantly felt at home at The Wren. I didn't even have an appointment that day, I just wandered in...and Kevin in the Leasing Office took the time during his busy day to give me a full building tour. He answered all of my questions (I ask a lot of questions) with patience, kindness, and honesty -- he was helpful in calculating for me what all of the Finances would be, and he knew exactly which units I would and wouldn't like based on my description of what I was looking for in a home. I was blown away by the luxury of the wooden cabinetry in each unit -- to the 2-story gym -- to the roof deck pool and lounge, the customer service answering my calls during the application process, and friendliness of other tenants I ran into. I cannot wait to call The Wren my new home in Shaw.

The leasing staff is great I always go to Kevin, he’s polite, always follows up, and shows he cares about the residents and their concerns. Jordan (assistant manager) and Sam (general manager) are always available to help out, take phone calls and both are very quick and polite to respond to emails to help resolve issues. I am very happy to be living at the Wren and would recommend considering this location. The maintenance staff are very polite and respectful. Thanks! #theWren

Juan and Jose came by to help fix an issue with an ongoing dishwasher leak. They were very helpful, explained what the issue was, quick to replace all the parts and put the dishwasher back together good as new. They did a fantastic job!

Amazing experience speaking and touring with Kelvin. I couldn’t have asked for a better and more thoughtful tour guide and leasing agent, he’s kind, efficient and genuinely cares and wants to do anything to get you the best space. Can’t wait to call this place my home!

Dewayne at the front desk is a national treasure! He took extra time out of his day to help figure out how to solve an issue I was having and was such a delight to interact with.

Jose has come and done many maintenance requests for me in no time! He always makes sure to check everything that I need fixed and he communicates well about everything

Do not move here!! Looks great on website/paper but certainly not worth the money or headache. Management is awful, only person that’s competent and personable is Kevin. If you love the location consider elsewhere.

Jose returned several times to make sure that the we were satisfied with the repair. We were extremely happy with his attention to our issue.

Don't live at the Wren. The Wren is not a clean place to live. The garbage receptacles break frequently. Resulting is piles of trash in the hallways. Residents leave their trash bags in the hallway outside their door. Hallways smell. The Wren is not a safe place to live. Residents do what they want. Police are called frequently to handle various situations. Loud music, smoke on balconies, on the roof. The Wren is a smoke free environment - management and building security do not enforce the rules. The Wren has poor management. The communication to the residents is unprofessional and lacking. The enforcements of the rules make this dorm-like attitude persist. The front desk staff is rude. They do not answer the phone frequently. The Wren is not an enjoyable place to live. it is unsafe, unclean, and miserable for residents. From a safety perspective - elevators are out of service without notice. Front doors to the building are out of service without notice to the residents. The Wren is not a safe place to live.

I loved the Wren. I had to find an apartment close to campus for my last year of undergrad and, though pricy, The Wren was soooo worth it. Perfect location with perfect amenities. Every penny I paid was worth it. It seems like every minute detail of luxury living was sorted through, but even down to motion sensors trash shoots. Definitely not an apartment I wanted to move out of. I try to find pieces of The Wren in every apartment I've toured after it. If you can afford it, I 100% recommend with no hesitations.

Bobby, from the front desk is the most hospitable, helpful and charming building managers I've encountered. He makes you feel welcome, genuinely cares about residents having the best living experience there and his smile and positive spirit is contagious. A close second to Bobby are the epic rooftop and views at the Wren. - Amanda Hite

Love this place, really glad I chose The Wren, especially with my cross country move. Bobby & his security team are particularly wonderful. The entire leasing office goes above and beyond to make folks feel at home here.

I've been living at The Wren for a month and it has exceeded all expectations. Courtney was my leasing consultant and I received top notch service from him. He was so helpful, quick responding, and patient in working with me as I chose an apartment and in my transition to The Wren. The concierge team is the BEST! Bobby is the main man and makes sure everything is going well with you and your living situation. Haven't seen service like the one Bobby provides in some time. Bernard and JB are wonderful too! They have been genuine, warm, welcoming, and amiable. They have answers to all your questions, are helpful and make sure you're good. There's nothing like seeing anyone in the concierge team when you come home. It's so easy to strike a conversation with any of them. The building is immaculate! It's very clean and the amenities spaces are well-kept. The building is safe and everyone wears a mask. Residents are friendly. I can go on and on.. All positive. I love living in this community and my apartment is the best I've lived in. Everything is new and stylish. SO happy to call The Wren home.
