The Wurst is a great addition to the local food landscape.
I picked up steak and a chicken, both raised on local farms, from The Wurst.
They were both terrific, particularly the chicken.
I roasted the bird and made a gravy from the drippings.
Now, I roast a chicken in a cast-iron pan for dinner probably 2x\month. And my kids love that meal. Just chicken, gravy, homemade mashed potatoes and a veg.
They all said the chicken from the Wurst was the tastiest I've made. And they went nuts over the gravy.
But I didn't do anything different. It was the depth of flavor from the chicken that elevated everything.
The store itself is pretty cool. The product is front and center, displayed behind glass cooler walls. It's like a shrine to meat.
I hope The Wurst is successful, simply because no one else around here is doing anything close to what the owner is tackling there.
