"You expect the Yard to be bar and grill with it’s wood plank interior surrounded by overflowing green planters, but this is the place to go if you want Mexican. Or really if you want to just hangout. This is the spot for a gourmet beer selection and Mexican food that surprisingly good for the spice-phobic northwest. Enjoy bacon-wrapped jalapeños and homemade tortillas and chips that arrive hot. The dog-friendly front patio surrounded by ivy walls is the spot to enjoy some brews in the evening and make new friends at the over-sized picnic tables." - Modern Species

"The Yard Cafe, from the same people as The Dray, is a bar with three different seating situations—making it a very versatile spot for beer-drinking and Mexican food eating. There’s a yard full of picnic tables, a bar with indoor seats, and a big back room with booths. No matter where you decide to sit, it’s great for a first date or group hang over something interesting on tap and some tacos or tortas." - aimee rizzo

"When: Monday-Friday, 4-6pm The Deal: $1 Off Cocktails, Beer, And Wine The Yard, a beer bar that serves Mexican food, is great for a last-minute group hang or a chill date. If it’s nice out, they do indeed have a yard that’s perfect for outdoor seating." - Aimee Rizzo

"You’ve just had a massive steak and the mood is good, so we’re not sending you to a stuffy bar to sip cordials in the dark while you struggle to come up with conversation topics. Go to The Yard instead, and opt for an interesting beer or hard cider. If it’s nice out, sit at a picnic table on the patio, but splitting a booth inside is just as good." - aimee rizzo

The food was atrocious! The drinks had a sprinkle of alcohol in them. The food was awful. The guacamole had no salt, no seasoning, no onions, nothing. The chips tasted like they were made a week ago. The tacos were bland and covered in a bottled sauce. The chicken wasn’t tender, and the tortillas were old. I wouldn’t recommend and I certainly won’t be going back. The waitress was fine, no issue with the service. She asked me what she could fix, we told her all the issues and she took the guacamole off the bill. We still ended up paying over $50 And ended up going somewhere else to eat.

We ordered chips, salsa, guacamole, tacos. I liked the shrimp tacos the best, but the fish and duck ones were good too. I got a hot toddy which was excellent. Servers were helpful but not always there when you needed them. Atmosphere is trendy, but a little cold, but was probably just right after a drink. Good place for a date night or to meet up with friends before aTaproot play. Parking is a little harder to get but you can get it on side streets. I probably wouldn't bring kids just because it's a pub atmosphere, but I'm sure you could. There were vegetarian options clearly marked.

The tacos were awesome!! The service was welcoming, cheery, and helpful. I was there super early because of jet lag but I’m sure the vibes would have been good too when there was more people. Highly recommend!

Happy hour is great. An excellent bean dip. Cheeseburger came with a fantastic salad. My friend who is gluten-free, was able to request lettuce wrap instead of a bun for her cheeseburger. Solid beer, options and lots of open air seating with picnic style tables, as well as having great ventilation for indoors. Each time I’ve been there I’ve seen kids able to sit with their parents and enjoy.

Kind of an indoor outdoor place. I ate outside so can't speak to inside design. From what I could tell it is rustic. Portions are good sized. There was a lot going on on the avocado toast. Maybe a little bit too busy, but still good. My dining partner said the grilled prawns were very good. There are several veggie options on the menu.

Amazing local hangout in the Greenwood. We sat in the covered porch area. Nice heaters provided a very comfortable environment. A couple TVs in the background to see college football. We enjoyed the scramble and the relleno. Nice local craft beer selection. Thank you Sabrina for your service and the chef for your house made food. A definite go to in the Seattle area. Support local - it matters

Pretty good food, steep prices. A cocktail and chips n salsa ran me over $30 after tax and tip. Service was a little slow, the bartender was also acting as server.
