The Yard

Nice open air/outdoor venue. Great bar with large variety of beer and liquor/mix drinks. 5 different food trucks provide something for everyone; BBQ, tortas, taquitos, mexican style burgers and hotdogs, pizza, chicken/waffles. We tried the "humburguesa Mexicana" from one of the trucks and chicken & waffles from another. Both were delicious!

Fabulous food, great service, drinks were good. Perfect spot 👌 I love the location and the adtmosfere.

It's ok, food is over priced. Neat idea. Security guard needs a new job. He "had" to check girls clutch purses before entering ok but also on the way out?? How does that make sense? We asked what if we refuse "i have to call the police" we are still in America and have rights. Not happy with the yard. Maybe he thought it was a prison yard.

Awesome spot! Thursday nights at 9pm they have a live band. 6 food trucks to choose from and a good size bar to accommodate.

We were never actually served at this restaurant. I arrived with my partner and no one greeted us at the entrance or helped us to a table. We waited a long time for someone to take our order, and by the time we finally got someone’s attention, we were told the kitchen was closed and they were only serving drinks. Terrible experience from start to finish.

This place is really nice to hang out outdoors. You can also catch some special events there. .

This is the spot to come chill and have great night/day with your friends My friends and I came on a Sunday and it was amazing. Great atmosphere and the music was great too a mix of everything. Customer service was good over all. To begin with this place is pretty big its more of outdoor place, but they do have 2 little indoor rooms which is pretty cute. Which they have a table and some chairs. The Bar is in the middle of the place surround by several food trucks and tables and high tables also. Totally different from any place in Downtown night life. The food and drinks are a little exorbitant but its kind of worth it. Not gonna lie the food is delicious , though the only thing I've tasted are the Gorditas de pollo. Moreover they also have games which my friends and I played. One is Bag Toss and Jenga those are the only games we saw maybe they had other ones inside the indoor rooms. we'll have to go again to check. Furthermore if y'all are looking for a great time and chill place come try this place out its worth y'alls time.

Open for outside drinks and there is a taco truck with a variety of tacos which are very delicious and affordable. The drinks are a bit weak but the ambiance is upbeat and fun. The music is just at the perfect volume to carry out conversations with your partners.

This patio bar is perfect, you can enjoy the happy hour with a good beer or cocktail. The music is pretty good some indies, good friends and also they have different food trucks like gorditas or tacos. Your Sunday funday is gonna be lit.

Pros: - good hang out spot - got music - food trucks Cons: - terrible service - terrible drinks: we ordered a ranch water and it tasted like a glass full of salt water. But what can you expect from 17 year old bartenders?

This review is to inform you that The Yard is ok-nothing to over the top. But oh well, beats being in bed.

The Yard is a great spot to grab a taco and a beer with friends. There are several options for food with the different food truck/trailers that are set along the perimeter of the venue. The bar (full service)has a couple of bartenders ready to serve up beers and cocktails. I think that if they invested in a few more games it would make things even better.

This place is okay. We came to check it out since we are from out of town and honestly I've had way better cocktails in other places around this area. I ordered a variety of cocktails and they just weren't that great. The ambiance is cool though, they would be so much more awesome in my opinion if they had more food trucks around the premise. When I went there were only two (and it was 9-10 sat night) and the one we were hoping to open just never opened as they were taking way too long to prep. Would I return? Possibly if they get their cocktail making skills up to par and get more food truck choices. It's a good idea though I'm rooting for them for sure as it's a prime location and nice area.

Awesome place but lame music. Have yet to go to a place that doesn't have the same music.

Great spot in downtown McAllen. There is a lot of outdoor space to sit, as well as two AC pods/containers. Pretty trendy place. Many people had their dogs with them on a leash. About 6 food trucks. Great drinks at a great price. The pepino devino was a super refreshing drink for a hot summer day. They also serve $777 Don Perignon. Needless to say we stuck with the pepino devinos

My fiancé and I are regulars at the yard and we always have a good experience. We always ask for Joseph and he is the absolute best.

The food was amazing. I had the Tacos Reynosa with cheese at one of the food trucks and l would have gone back for seconds had it not taken so long. Atmosphere is great and they play a good variety of music. The bar staff could improve on their hospitality but then again it's a bar so I guess you shouldn't expect much.

I have been to The Yard a few times and it was a great experience, good environment and great costumer service. Until this last time that I went. I invited my friend from Mexico so she could see how good this place was and as soon as she gave her ID to the waitress, another dumb butt guy came back with the ID ripped saying it was fake. My friend explained it wasn't and it was her only ID since she is from Mexico. the stupid guy with no manners laughed and repeated several times that it was fake since the sticker came off. any person knows IDs from Mexico are ugly. we told the guy he should've called the police but not break it and he just laughed and went away. Honestly, if you think an ID is fake go call the police, don't break something you "believe" is fake and laugh. that's not your job to break something you "believe" is not. Never going back since they couldn't even call the police or pay for the REAL license.
