Finally tried yard Milkshake in One Loudoun after hearing all the hype. The staff was very friendly, the place was super clean, and the aesthetic is really fun and eye-catching. The milkshakes are definitely over the top—huge, extremely sweet, and easily shareable between two to three people. They’re also pretty pricey, so sharing is definitely the way to go. Fun experience if you’re in the mood for something indulgent.

Title: Disappointing Third Visit – Service and Maintenance Slumping Rating: ★★☆☆☆ This was my third time visiting The Yard at One Loudoun, and I am sad to say the experience has gone downhill. In the past, this location was kept clean and felt like a premium experience, but that is no longer the case. The most frustrating part of the visit was the lack of attention to detail regarding their promotions. It is now January 2, 2026, yet the TV boards are still advertising a November special: the Peanut Butter Perfection (formerly known as "Peanut Butter Purification"). While the shake itself is amazing, it was incredibly disappointing to be told it is no longer on the menu despite being the primary item displayed on their digital boards. A few other issues from this visit: Outdated Information: A business that thrives on "limited-time" specials should at least have a current menu. Being two months behind on digital advertising is misleading to customers. Cleanliness: The shop used to be pristine, but it now feels neglected. Tables were sticky, and the overall "sparkle" the place once had is fading. Service: The staff seemed indifferent to the confusion caused by the outdated menu boards. While the shakes are still a massive, Instagram-worthy treat, the high price tag (usually around $17–$20 per specialty shake) is hard to justify when the service and environment are slipping. If you're looking for the current January specials, they are actually supposed to be featuring the "Twix Fix" and "Rainbow Snow" right now, but you wouldn't know it by looking at their screens. I really hope management steps up to bring this location back to its original standards. Until then, I’ll be looking elsewhere for my sugar fix.

Nice, friendly and helpful staff. She even offered us samples. Ice cream are tasty. We tried half a pint of strawberry cheesecake and Pecan pralines n cream ice creams for $6. Not expensive.

I’m giving this place 3 stars mainly because of the young man working there, who was intelligent and clever enough to handle the situation and salvage my experience. Unfortunately, the manager was entirely unhelpful and lacked common sense, customer service skills, and logic. I wanted to order three shakes to go, but she told me I couldn’t do that unless I paid an extra $4 per shake for a plastic cup. Keep in mind, each shake cost over $20, so this extra charge felt outrageous. It’s confusing—if they’re going to give away glass cups with the shakes, why charge extra for a plastic cup? Plus, claiming there are no to-go orders available is simply ridiculous. Her attitude was dismissive and unprofessional, and I believe this mindset could negatively impact the business. It seemed like her shift was ending, and she was eager to leave, but the young employee stepped in and offered a solution instead of creating more problems. That simple act not only saved the moment but also likely brought in nearly $70 in sales that the manager was ready to turn away. It’s clear that she isn’t suited for her position, and it would be in the company's best interest to consider replacing her with the young man who demonstrated competence and customer focus. As for the shakes—they were just average, with some candy decorations added. Nothing special, and definitely not worth the price. The space is limited, with no outdoor seating, so overall, it’s unlikely I’ll be returning frequently.

First off, the pictures of milkshake-inspired mega-tower dessert designs that looks like New York City skyscrappers are immaculate and the greatest magnet to attract any and every child with a sweet tooth within a 2-3 mile radius. The disciplined little kid inside my psyche got hooked and Yard MilkShake lured me in where I felt little self-control. So I ordered two desserts including a pecan ice cream milkshake (with malt) .... must add malt to be a proper milkshake of course; and a ice-cream cup topped with a whole slice of cheese cake, whipped cream, and more ice cream all of which required a stick to keep it from toppling. Note I did not expect the topping literally to be a full side of cheesecake as listed on the menu. Now after two or three bites, the magic (aka advertising) quickly wore off. Kudos for Yard Milkshake Bar for bringing back old school milkshakes, which I believe should be its own food group when I get old and senile with cravings for sweet dessert. But everything on the menu and every possible component offered is just sugar on-top of sugar accompanied with sugary donut or cheesecake or another whole dessert which is then flavored with more sugar-laden sugary component. After the fifth byte, it all just tastes the same and the only flavor my tongue can detect is just sugar. I think Yard Milkshake offers great milkshake options but the rest of the menu can veer towards tacky when the toppings you can choose from include a full slide of cheesecake or a full size donut. There is untapped potential in the world of desserts and milkshake so I hope Yard Milkshake will be able to add another dimension to the sugary menu in a future chapter of dessert innovation. And while Yard Milkshake pulled no punches in their sugar-based tower dessert designs, no punches were spared in the price of major dessert entrees on the menu.

Ice cream was great. Many flavors. Since it's Friday night, there were so many people but didn't have a long wait.

Google
Delicious ice cream, milkshakes and cookie dough! A huge variety of flavors and combinations to choose from. Some indoor seating and a jar wash for people bringing home novelty jars.

Google
Love this place! The ice-cream 🍦is delicious and you can get it with a sundae style treat or a milkshake. Definitely worth the $17 for one of these bad boys, if only to try it once. I didn't finish the entire thing but you get to keep the Mason jar and rinse it out at the rinsing station. I got the mint chocolate 🍫 chip one called the Mint Green Monster 👻. The staff was friendly and helpful. Will definitely be coming here again.

Yelp
Omg the Cookie Monster is out of this world. Yes your mouth will be blue but no other desert is as satisfying as this. My favorite! I've only ordered it online so I can't speak to the service or ambiance.

Yelp
I was visiting my son and brought my Granddaughter to get some ice cream. There was a little line but it cleared out and the young man that was there never even looked in our direction like I was invisible. After what felt like 10 minutes and watching the young man move back and forth behind the counter a young lady appeared and asked to help. We placed our order. The young lady even helped the family behind me which made me what h the young man e en more wonder was he new did he not speak but my granddaughter ate he ice cream I tasted it. Is was OK. I guess the experience threw everything off even the taste. I know I don't think I'll be back.

Yelp
It has been a while since we visited. Clearly new management. Tried 1 scoop vanilla sundae but they had no fudge and not even chocolate sauce. Disappointed and won't be going back anytime soon.

Yelp
Parking: there is a free parking garage right next door. You don't have to worry about parking! Seating: there is seating inside. It was empty when we went. You will want to sit down and eat your milk shake, because it is a lot! Food: we got the milkshake to share! It was a lot for the two of us. It was definitely too much sugar for us. The taste was pretty good! We got the Peanut Butter Brownie Bliss and it wasn't super nutty, just the drizzle was peanut butter. Price: WAY OVERPRICED. Very ridiculous. It was about $20 for a milkshake! Yes, you get to keep the glass cup, but it's not worth $20. I would never go back because of the price! No wonder it was empty... Service: Our servers were friendly and nice! They seemed like high school kids and they were very nice to us! They answered our questions well! :)

Yelp
Wonderful and creative selection. The ice cream was supermarket quality, so a bit disappointing. Small portions for high prices. Staff was excellent and place was busy, but ice cream was sub par.
google avatar

Brandee R.

Yelp
Delicious and creative ice cream! Everything that I have tried has been delicious so far. The crew who works there is really nice and even remembered my order when I returned. It's a little pricey but for the amount of ice cream you get, it's worth it. Plenty of seating as well inside and it's cute inside.

Yelp
I finally got to try out this place this past weekend. I ordered the Peanut Butter Brownie Bliss in a bowl, I was thinking that would be easier to eat than the milkshake. I was totally wrong, they do not skimp on what you get. I wish they had a lid so you could take it to go or just save it for later since it's a lot. I wasn't was able to finish it and had to throw it out. I will say that you're better off just sharing a bowl with someone. I wouldn't make it my regular go to spot for ice cream, but if I wanted to treat myself and someone for a birthday treat or special occasion then it might be the spot to do so. The place was clean but sitting was a bit limited on a Saturday night, since it was packed with families and big groups.

Yelp
Made my gfs drink wrong then gave an attitude and insisted it was correct. Terrible service don't waste your money
google avatar

Yelp
So disappointing. No jars available. Ok, that's kind of understandable. But they had NO ingredients to make the April specials. Short on tons of product. Trying to get an idea on what was available was like playing 20 questions. Bad first experience. We left without even trying anything. Also not ADA friendly at all! Impossible to get around and even leave!
google avatar

Muthana A.

Yelp
Seriously overpriced. Almost $20 for one milkshake? Also the flavors are a bit overwhelming I had no idea what to order and just ended up getting a birthday milkshake for my boys I tried to ask them what their most popular flavor was but they seemed annoyed I asked and didn't help me at all. The ice creams tastes generic and melts way too fast

Yelp
The Yard serves milkshakes that are a feast for the eyes, but not the stomach. A spot you go to for bragging on IG rather than enjoying some ice cream. Went here with my extended family after eating at Hot Pot Legend - considering we were about 15 paying patrons it would have been nice to have more time to try flavors out but I felt very rushed by the staff. They have 4 or 5 different chocolate variations and I was very disappointed in the one I got (which I can't even remember the name of) - which basically tasted like Hershey's chocolate syrup mixed with vanilla ice cream, aka discount chocolate. Wouldn't have been a problem if I had been able to try the flavor, but alas. They also have several flavors that just say "new flavor" but don't give a name or description of what the flavor is. The ice cream itself is just... meh quality overall. Tillamook or Homestead ice cream you can buy from the grocery store tastes better. The only reason to go here is if you want to get a picture for your social media. Maybe you can go with a group of friends and buy one milkshake, then take turns taking photos with it so as to not have to spend so much on mediocre ice cream.

Ashley Z.

Yelp
We were very disappointed with our experience at the yard. The service was incredibly slow, and although the milkshakes looked unique, they were nothing to brag about. They use low quality, supermarket style ice cream. The tables were also dirty, covered in old melted ice cream.

Yelp
Exciting visit to The Yard Milkshake Bar ! I knew it had to be serving good ice cream because the place was packed. Line was long, but staff is efficient. I ordered the triple chocolate ice cream. Place was clean , not very big. We couldn't find a chair, again popular place, but it's okay there's a beautiful outdoor space. My sister ordered the regular chocolate and it was tasty. We both enjoyed the waffle cone. They gave plenty of extra napkins. Parking was easy , there is a lot on the left side of shop. I advise to grab ice cream and sit outside for a nice experience. Enjoy!

Yelp
I was excited to try Yard's crazy milkshakes, as I've seen them on tik toks for a while. I ordered their classic vanilla shake, which came with a crazy amount of whipped cream and a cupcake ($18). I also tried one of their caramel-flavored scoops, which was $7 ($8 if you got it in a cone). Unfortunately, my experience was offset by the awful customer service. The staff member at the register was confusingly rude to me when I asked for a lid for my cup of ice cream. He first claimed that they didn't have any lids, but after I pointed out that there were a few lids behind him, he rolled his eyes and said "no, you can't have it". I was very confused at his response and offended by his rude treatment. I tried asking for a milkshake lid/cup instead and offered to pay for it and was still told no. In the end, the lid really doesn't matter, but the principle of the matter does to me. I was frustrated by the odd behavior/response of the staff member and didn't understand why other staff members didn't step in? I don't think my request was absurd, and if I was given any explanation as to why I couldn't get one that would have been fine too. The cashier was rude to other customers too...so I guess...just be prepared if you go.

Yelp
We were taking a stroll around One Loudoun on a Friday evening and came upon this place. We came around 7 pm on a Friday and there was no line. Got their Frost cake September special since it sounded delicious. What we got was a pint of chocolate slushy ice cream with A LOT whipped cream with a cupcake stuck inside with a cookie and sprinkles. It looked very aesthetically pleasing, and it also comes with a souvenir pint glass. Another cool thing is they have a washing station inside so you can clean up your jar when your done to take home. For that "experience" I am giving it the 3 stars. Other than that, everything in the actual ice cream was very low quality tasting with a cool $19 price tag.

Yelp
You know that song about the milkshake, "my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard?" The boys, or shall I say, the people should really go to the Yard for their milkshakes. First of all, the shakes just look beautiful. The pictures don't do them justice. Everyone who works here is amazing! My friend and I didn't know what to order so we were made a surprise speciality shake and wow- it was delicious. We got a Southern Blackberry Cobbler inspired shake. I absolutely adore the person who made our shake- he was so lovely. He talked to us and made sure we enjoyed our experience. The shakes are sweet and filling. Honestly, one pint can definitely be shared by 2-3 people because they are that sweet (but in such a good way). You also get to take the mason jars home as a memento! Service is fast and ambiance is cute. It's its own place and if you're looking for a delectable treat- stop at the Yard.

Yelp
The signature is the best if you're going for shock factor, and the salted caramel ice cream that it came with was exactly what I needed. Brownie was dry, didn't touch it. Probably overpriced but the novelty made it worth it.

Yelp
My friend recommended this spot out to me and my bf and I were so happy to see that they offer the Blue Cookie Monster as one of their flavors. Not all places sell that flavor and it's our new favorite flavor. The ice cream was delicious and definitely leaves a blue stain on your lips after lol. The scoops are pretty large so it's perfect for sharing. They also let you try little samples if you can't choose. So happy to have a local spot serving our favorite ice cream!

Yelp
I ordered the mint green monster. The presentation was beautiful, def had to take a picture. However, taste was very mediocre and nothing special. The taste/quality did not match what was paid for. A pint was $17. Good service though, they were quick. It was nice to take my dog out for a walk and stop by here. They had outdoor seatings.

Yelp
Drove over an hour and half to come and check out this HOT SPOT and let me tell you it was worth every the drive. The place was very packed on a Sunday so make sure you order ahead of time or be patient. They are pretty fast when it comes to service, they were all super friendly. I had a Cheesecake milkshake it was so delicious never had suck delicious dessert in quite a long time. Make sure you come with an empty stomach because these milkshakes are very filling, my friend ordered a chocolate brownie and by her expressions she was in heaven. So make sure you taste both! Make sure to check out their fridge they have lots of shakes Pre made as well as Cookie Dough pops which I haven't tasted but I can only imagine Another cool thing about this place is that once your done with your milkshake there's a sink available for you to wash your cup to take home, bags on the right and napkins are abatible. So excited I found this place even though a little far it's worth it! If you live in the DMV area or are visiting Ashburn Virginia make sure to stop by and be ready to get addicted!! Congrats to the entire Staff here for outstanding customer service!!!

Yelp
Nice vibe, but the ice creams were just okay. Plus, the employee was rude and overcharged me for an extra cup of ice cream I didn't want. When I tried to correct the mistake, they refused and responded rudely.

Yelp
Wonderful ice cream/milkshake/cookie dough spot located in one Loudon. I was surprised at what they had to offer and the different accommodations available. I got the Superman and a scoop of birthday cake cookie dough and it was very good, nice contrast in flavor. Also ordered the banana pudding ice cream and it tasted like the real thing. The server was friendly and patient. Well lit with plenty of seating inside and outside.

Yelp
FOOD: 4/5 SERVICE: 3/5 AMBIANCE: 3/5 The Yard is just simply too small for what it's trying to do. The line queue fills up even if there's 4 people in line. There were tons of people just waiting around and no signage on where to stand while waiting/to order. I waited a good solid 5 minutes in line when someone who was waiting told me they all ordered. Then, perhaps go outside? We've driven by multiple times since it opened and it was too crowded. One time I came in and they said they were out of vegan ice cream. Finally, I got to try the vegan shake today. They were out of chocolate chunk vegan ice cream so we subbed it with original cookie vegan ice cream. Their menu signage was a little confusing so I accidentally ordered the bowl and asked to get it corrected to the milkshake in a plastic cup instead of the jar (aka no toppings). The bowl was $11.89 originally and the milkshake without the jar is $7.89 (there are surcharges with vegan ice cream) so they refunded the bowl and just charged me again for the milkshake, which I appreciated. Our order came out and it was the bowl. I said we got a milkshake and tried saying without toppings, but he was already gone. I got up to peek to see if they were making it with dairy free milk (I can't have milk at all) and saw that he was making it with the jar. I tried to wade through the crowd to tell him we didn't order it, but it was already done when we got there. We didn't want to waste their time and resources by remaking it again, so we kept it. But I felt really guilty. I told myself they were slammed though so I'm sure they didn't mind. Milkshake itself had vegan whipped cream, a vegan chocolate chip cookie, icing/cookie crumbs, and a ton of chocolate syrup with the ice cream. It was very good and thick, but they didn't have any spoons. After less than half (and I was splitting it with my husband), we were done. It's just too rich and too much. I get it's the point, but maybe 1 scoop less of ice cream and more whipped cream. I don't know how anyone could finish it and we had to rest after eating it. BTW, seating is horrendous. People kept coming in and taking chairs from tables so there were no chairs with the tables but big groups with like 4-6 chairs. This is not the place to bring a big party and if so, eat outside. Definitely not handicap accessible and most people didn't care if you needed a table and stayed way past than they should have. And you could barely move around while trying to get things. It was nice that they brought you the item you ordered after you sat/waited, but honestly, you couldn't get your order if you tried. They should text you when your order is ready and put it on a table, that way you can know even when you're outside and the workers don't have to yell the order number. Nothing against the actual shakes or place, but it's just too much for us and we probably won't be back.

T A.

Yelp
Ice cream was okay, as it was somewhat flavorful. The staff couldn't describe what's on the menu and couldn't recommend an item. The bathroom didn't have any toilet paper.
google avatar

Tony D.

Yelp
The man with the long beard was VERY rude upon entering the establishment. He had a poor attitude and very bad customer service skills. We entered 20 minutes before they closed, and explained in a rude manner what was available and what wasn't. Was very clear in his demeanor he did not want us in the shop. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. The ice cream was bomb.
google avatar

Nat T.

Yelp
bought the milkshake with the jar for $15. You get to keep the jar after, wash the jar yourself at the station after finishing the milkshake. Store was cute, concept is amazing but the price is a little steep and the milkshake was way too sweet for my liking. Overall decent to try once in my opinion!
google avatar

Heidi L.

Yelp
My husband and I've been seeing their IG pictures all over the place that we had to try. I liked the taste of the milkshake and so as my husband but it's a lot of heavy creamy stuff in a jar. I love the fact that we get to take the jar home but man, I don't know if I would go another round in next few months. Maybe if we end up having a gathering at One Loudoun. That's a maybe though. The highlight of The Yard Milkshake Bar is everything looks deliciously presentable. You are putting layers and layers of goodness on top of each other.
google avatar

Yierou M.

Yelp
Great to try if you've never been but I can see how people think it's overrated. The specialty milkshakes in their souvenir jar was $17! I asked if I can get a jar lid (since I saw jars with lids on them) and I got a snappy "no " lol. All good though.
google avatar

Helen C.

Yelp
Decided to try The Yard Milkshake bar as we were in the area. Nice place, however the downside of this place is customer service and pricing. One individual was working and just gave off some really negative vibes but we still ordered. I've uploaded two pictures of what we ordered, $42 out the door and that included tip. Looks pretty but don't think it was worth the hype and cost.
google avatar

Anushka M.

Yelp
I loved my experience at The Yard! It was exactly what I expected. They have a wide variety of ice cream flavors and delicious shakes available. I will say the size of the milkshakes are definitely for at least 2 people or more. We got the strawberry cheesecake milkshake. It is slightly expensive but you get to keep the mason jar it comes in and the quantity was very filling for 2 people. We loved the milkshake! It has cheesecake bites and a whole slice on top which were delicious. The milkshake itself was also amazing. It came quickly but there was only one other group in front of us that ordered so it wasn't too busy.

Yelp
Came here for the hype like everyone else. I will admit the milkshake is Instagram worthy, which makes it a one and done kind of place. The price just does not make sense. Yard Milkshake is so greedy. This location alone charges 4% for using card instead of cash. It said 3.5% on their website but I did the math and .65 of $16 is 4%. As if $16 for ice cream was not enough.... This straight up shows that they have no problem being dishonest. They do not even ask people if they would rather pay with cash, so unless you caught that fine print on their website than you would have no idea. This is the only location that does that as well. None of their other locations have card fees. The structure of their business model does not make sense for having consistent business. You will have no regulars because who needs a million mason jars with your logo on them. I left mine in the sink at the restaurant because I do not need extra clutter in my house. At least offer that size without the mason jar or let customers be able to bring the mason jar back for a discount. Also someone came by while I was here and asked if they would be able to eat here with their peanut allergy. The worker there said they would have to sign a waiver because they cannot guarantee anything.... Lastly the consistency is not one similar to a milkshake but more of melted ice cream. Do not give them support, don't waste your money. The gelato place just around the block is amazing and legit. Go there instead.

Yelp
One and done for me. Heard about long lines so went at 3:00 on a weekday to check this place out. Only a 5 minute wait, placed our order and found a seat. Took about 25-30 minutes to deliver our shakes, a bit too long for me. I get it, each one individually made, etc. but that just won't scale in a busy place. Shake was decent, strawberry with a slice of cheesecake on top. I'm confused what I paid, but I know it was too much. I send a message to the store but no reply back. The menu showed $15 in one spot, $16 on another, keep the glass. I paid $16.64 + tax, so 2 shakes set me back $35. Okay, I tried the novelty place, won't be back.

Ronnie M.

Yelp
I would rate it a zero due to customer service but the owner tried to rectify the issue right away. This is a Milkshake Ice-cream Spot. Happy thoughts until you walk in the door to the rude small round young lady. I could not belive I was scolded because she did not hear me respond to her greeting. Not all people are loud and rude. When you get a clap ba k next time try not to go over to you co-worker who was side eyeing your bad behavior. Not all of us a tourist. I'm and raised here and you may just see me again. DMV is tooo small and you never know who may have to help you or give you your next job. I swear the Habour has really gone down!!!!!. This is why most of us go to VA.

Yelp
As a fan of sweets and shakes, I had to try this. It was good and I would definitely come back! I appreciate them for having a vegan shake (as a milkshake place should) since my sister is allergic! Price seems reasonable and presentation is worthy. Shakes: In my opinion, it was a little too milky for me flavor wise, but everything else is good. There were big chunks of cookies n cream in my shake. I'm sure it is intentional, but I prefer to just drink it. I also wish there were more cookies on the shake. I know it has a dough pop, but I'd prefer big chunks of cookies outside my shake. Vegan shake: To be honest, it was pretty good for a dairy free shake. My sister liked everything but the whip cream. I liked it myself, I am just not used to drinking dairy free drinks/desserts.

Yelp
I heard about the milkshake bar but every time I stopped by the line was out the door. Thankfully today the wait was short so I dropped in and OMG!!!! Get a load of this strawberry cheesecake deliciousness. Skip the cream and the cheesecake (both were good) and let's talk about the ice cream. Rich and creamy vanilla with strawberry drizzle and chunks of cheesecake. The outer graham cracker shell on the glass was a nice touch. The vegan ice cream was good as well. A little pricey but worth the treat.

Yelp
I could hardly go on local social media groups without seeing someone rave or post pics about The Yard. My family was in town and we decided it was worth the 50-60 minute wait in line... and then when we got to the register we were committed.... Even though there was another sign saying it would be an additional "50 minutes" to get our milkshakes. The ice cream used for the shakes and specialty mixes is Hershey's. Not the best, not the worst. I was hoping they had created their own. I chose the "secret menu" item Loco Choco, but sadly they were out of brownie. I substituted it with a donut. The donut was about the size of a mini donut and was stale. It had a good amount of glaze, but I couldn't eat it all due to the texture. The milkshake tasted exactly like what you would make at home - chocolate ice cream with milk (while milk used). The whip cream was plentiful and chocolate shavings were pretty good. My rating is 90% on the quality of the shake (I get it was hype bc of it just opening and the line was expected). The shakes were super creative, but lacked in flavor. My family said that their cupcake was a bit stale as well. I understand this place just opened and everyone was out to try it, the line was out the door, and the wait was long - and - the workers could have had better efficiency. Because of the wait The Yard closed shortly after our order. While we waited the additional 70 minutes (2.25 hours total) the workers went down to about four. Some weren't working efficiently and some were working their butts off. I think things could have been a bit more efficient. I will say that the quality of the shakes didn't seem to decrease when the workers were probably tired and they were closed and still Filling orders. Was it worth the wait? No. Was it worth the price? Absolutely not. Was it delish and I'll recommend it to friends? No. Will I go back? I guess if someone invited me and they really want to.

Yelp
So disappointed in this place. Always wanted to try and this night, no jars, no chocolate jimmies and no hot fudge. Ice cream tastes better at Harris Teeter! So expensive!

Yelp
I really don't get the hype, but for some context I've never been a big fan of milk-based ice cream. I've tried the Ben & Jerrys almond based ice cream and can happily live with that version of ice cream. Regardless, I decided to give this place a try on a Saturday around 7-8pm. To start with, I heard lines were ridiculously long so I called in to ask if phone orders or online orders were not an option. I'd have to go in and order in person. Ok, omw. I get there and see a line that fills up to the door, but it only took around 15 minutes for me to make my order. I was disappointed by the limited amount of dairy-free options, they only had 2-3 but 20+ options of dairy options. None of the dairy free options looked appealing to me so I asked for the mint green monster bowl to share since I had a small craving. As to the inside setup, I can also confirm it is pretty cramped. Waiting for my order required me to stand in a cramped section around tables of people eating. Can't imagine it to be a comfortable eat-in experience. Got my order around 10 minutes of waiting, and was overwhelmed with how sweet it was. I couldn't finish even half of it, even while sharing it. I am always surprised to see how many people willingly wait to order here - it just isn't for me! Concept looks great in IG, but doesn't deliver irl

Yelp
We went here for my son's birthday treat. Luckily, the line/wait is not that bad anymore. I remember when they first opened and people were waiting about an hour for their order. So it is $$ and be prepared for a sugar shock. They do come out looking amazing, but don't expect much for taste. Out of the two that we got, the cookies n worms one definitely taste better. I'm sure kids love the unicorn one, but it's just way too sweet because of the cotton candy ice cream base. I think this was a one and done kinda thing though. They do have a washing station where you can wash the jar the shakes come in so you can take it home. That was convenient.

Yelp
my husband and daughter came here after we went to Barnes & Nobles! I asked my husband to grab me a mint chip cup & my daughter opted for the unicorn cup. her unicorn was extravagant to say the least. it was sugary. it was unicorn-y. and it was the biggest sugar high ever she's ever experienced. the mint chip was good, but not something I'd return for! I'd go back to try a milkshake though. probably get diabetes right away. I also had no idea this franchise was featured on Shark Tank - very cool.

Yelp
During the holidays I took my in-laws to The Yard Milkshake Bar for an afternoon treat. They popped up on my IG feed and I realized there was a location close to their place. Me being a huge sweets guy I gladly recommended it. We usually go to Brusters, which is close, so this was a stretch. Brusters also never misses. Atmosphere was great and not a long queue. Our cashier (Cathryn) did a great job collecting our order and making good recommendations. I'm not sure what her bosses name was but she made the process of ordering extremely difficult for me and my family. One thing that is important to mention that is that the specialty item do not travel very well. If you are coming here to get a treat it is probably best to eat it in the venue. That being said I feel as though this place would be 5 stars if they had accommodations for traveling with their menu items. The ice cream was good and I was pleased but I wish I received proper to-go care for the items we all got. Would I go back? Personally, I would not go out of my way to go back. Happy I tried it though.

Yelp
I've come to this ice cream place a couple of times now and I'm always surprised by how terrible the service is. The only reason, I believe, ppl still come to this place is bc it's the only ice cream place in one loudoun.

Yelp
The ice cream is ok. Service is insanely terrible. The guy working tonight was insanely rude. He threw one cup of ice cream across the store when a customer changed their mind. The place is pretty cool. But the atmosphere was definitely hindered by the rude employee today

Yelp
Massive milkshakes and ice creams. Def big enough to split between 2 people. The flavors are amazing and the cookies are chewy (if that's what you chose). I got the chocolate chip cookies dough shake regular with additional cookies dough of my choosing. The largest version seemed pricier simply to take home the cup. $9 total with the cookie dough. For the size, I would say it's worth it.

Yelp
I was so intrigued by all of the pix on social media about the shakes at The Yard so we went on a Saturday evening. We got a bit lucky because there were only two parties in front of us and there was open seating. By the time we were finished, the line was out the door and there was no seating at all. You can look at this in a positive way in that the crowds just kept coming which is great for their business! I had heard all about the Little Debbie Christmas tree snack cake milkshake and I had to have it! When ordering, you have the option of getting your shake in a plastic cup or in a small branded mason jar, which is extra. The shake was stacked and really flavorful. I wish there was vanilla added in to amp up the flavor. There were bits of cake layered in the shake and a whole snack cake on the edge of the glass. Around the edge, icing is spread on and rolled in sprinkles. Tons of holiday sprinkles made me happy!!! My husband got the strawberry cheesecake shake which featured a whole slice of cheesecake on top of the shake! His glass was rolled in icing and graham cracker crumbs and there was strawberry sauce drizzled inside the jar. The milkshake was good, but not the best strawberry flavor. If you ordered your shake in a glass, there is a washing station so you can clean it, dry it, and put it in a bag. I liked this touch because that would have been super messy to try to take that home!

Yelp
Went tonight, this place is a scam. Bad Tasting Shakes, Takes forever, Overpriced despite great ice cream. We were excited to try this place out but it was a complete disappointment across the family. When your kids are regretting going to an ice cream shop, something is wrong: -3 shakes with tip was $64. Wow. -Took 25 minutes to get 3 shakes. The place was empty but maybe they had a lot of door dash orders? -Here's where it gets really sucky. They have BlueBell Ice Cream which is great ice cream. But they hide that there isn't a lot of milk shake in chocolate covered glasses and a ton of whipped cream. So you don't actually get a lot of milkshake in your $20 milkshake. Like, you get more ice cream in a McDonald's McFlurry or a Wendy's Frosty than you do here. They just hide it in a lot of cheap crappy toppings so you can't see that. We went in hungry, we left hungry. -And it just didn't taste great. One kid didn't even finish theirs because it's just whipped cream and chocolate sauce. If I were to go back, or if you're going, don't get the milk shakes. In their blinking digital menus if you pay attention you'll see a less than $5 menu pop up that is just the good ice cream on an ice cream cone. I'd do that if I end up there and I'd encourage you to do the same, cause you're just going to feel ripped off walking out of there.

Yelp
They have many specialty milkshakes and different dessert like cake pop popsicles, ice cream, etc. If you're vegan, they options for you too! It's a bit pricey here (One Loudoun area of course), so you're pretty much paying for the experience. You can opt to get their souvenir mason jar which you can take home ~ they have a wash station to clean your jars! I tried their Mint Green Monster specialty milkshake, which was good, but not really special aside from the extra garnishes. I personally like thick milkshakes, and the milkshakes here are more liquidy. It was a fun first experience, but I'm probably not coming back. I can get a F'real milkshake at Sheetz for ~$3 that are just as good.
