Stopped in for some dessert after a long hot day. The place was packed. But I was pleasantly surprised by the short time it took to place our order and receive it. Very rich and indulgent choices on the menu. It was a little expensive for some of the selections, but on a hot day, it was just what we needed.

With only two places to get ice cream along the waterfront, this place was obviously busy. Finding a table outside was pretty easy though. We ordered a Mermaid shake (they were out of candy sticks so they subbed a mochi), and a bowl of “cookie dough”. The shake was, as promised, stunning. Vibrant, and intensely sweet. It was fun to share. The cookie dough was not what I was expecting. This was my first time trying “cookie dough” and it was fluffy and really sweet. We decided it just tasted like frosting with flour in it. Five of us finished one shake and 2/3 of the small bowl of cookie dough- the dough was just too filling! (The cup the milkshake comes in is a keepsake- there’s a sink inside to wash it out, and they have bags to carry it away.)

Google
Mid ice cream at an extremely high price. I paid $17.50 for a medium bowl or peanut butter chocolate ice cream, with whip cream, and a brownie on the side. The ice cream itself was fine, but nothing special. I give it a 6 out of 10. Salt and Straw or Tillamook make much creamier and richer ice cream. The whip cream was whip cream out of one of those metal canisters you can buy from a grocery store. The brownie tasted like a packaged brownie you receive on an airplane. It tasted good, but definitely was nothing special and was certainly not fresh. I do think the over all vibe inside the ice cream shop was good. I also think the presentation had some value. The brownie and whip cream was a nice touch that you do not usually receive elsewhere. Overall, though, I left feeling a bit ripped off. No where have I ever paid this much for ice cream. And for the quality, it was not worth it. I think I am better off going to Salt and Straw just a 1 minute walk down the street. Knock off $5 or so to the price and I would reconsider. That price would be more fair. That price would also allow me to not be so critical. But if you slap a $17.50 ice cream bill on me, I am afraid you are welcoming criticism.

Google
Service and aesthetic were the highlights of our visit. The ice cream was nice for IG worthy photos, but did not taste nearly as good as the presentation. The cookie dough was trash. Got 4 things and spent about $80. Wouldn’t recommend. Save your money and get yourself a huge gallon of any ice cream at the store.

Google
The Yard is an ice cream shop with a flair for the dramatic, featuring artful milkshakes and neat decor. The presentation of each shake is Instagram-worthy, making it a popular spot for capturing that perfect shot. However, the prices are quite steep which makes it more of an occasional treat rather than a frequent stop for a quick shake. While the shakes are visually impressive, the high cost is a drawback and with many high quality local ice creameries I'd hope for the flavor to bring something unique to the table but it's average.

Super cute and presentable Ordered the Dough Nit coffee and cream 😋 very sweet but great as a once in a while treat. Parking : not easy Location : clean

Google
So here's the thing, I knew going there it was going to be a lot of money, but I'm sorry, for the quality and quantity of food it's insane. Really cool experience, and I think what they're doing is fun, but it's way overpriced. For a $21 milkshake, I'd expect it to be huge. Instead 50% of it is whip cream. I also thought the flavors were good, but not $21 good. Service was friendly and again a cool place, I'm just unwilling to pay that much money again for what we received.

Google
Enjoyable atmosphere right on the waterfront. Place is pretty busy mo matter what time or day I have visited. It has cute themed milkshakes (Pricey but I didn't mind for the experience bit it is about $20 for the specialty shakes like what we got) ......Also, if you order the blue cookie monster ice cream, our kids poop was blue for the whole next day after! You also get to keep the jar when you order the $20 specialty shake (and they have a cleaning station to clean the jar for take home) you can get a specialty sundae without the jar (like the unicorn one pictured) for about $15

Yelp
What a great place for this area. The service is pretty well organized. You walk in and hop in line. While waiting you are looking at all of the ice cream choices of milkshakes and bowls. You order at the register. And then wait at a table inside or out to hear your number called. Be sure to take a peak at the sign behind the register as to how long the wait will be. We were about 20 mins. Depends on how busy it is at the time. When you are done eating, there is a wash station to clean out your glass inside. Great all around. Only negative feedback is the lava cake and brownie were very dry. Not worth eating.

Yelp
We have been wanting to try the yard milkshake bar for a very long time. It is located right on the waterfront and you can sit and enjoy amazing views while you enjoy your milkshake or ice cream bowls, my only downside with this establishment is I can't see myself happily spending $25 for a singular milkshake but I understand why they charge it that high because the milkshake that you get is massive. The service was extremely good. They were extremely helpful and friendly.

Yelp
Terrible service. Came in with my family as we were celebrating with our young kiddos. We'd never been in before and wont be returning. There were no other customers inside, just my family while there were 3 employees behind the counter. None of them greeted us. All three were teenagers too preoccupied with chatting among themselves and not working. After waiting a few minutes to order, I had to interrupt the staff to take our order. The attitudes of these teens. The prices are absurdly high and not worth it.

Yelp
Ever get the hankering to spend $21 on a messy milkshake with other items needlessly adorning it? No? Me neither, yet here's The Yard Milkshake Bar, and that's exactly what they do. Why did I go here? I'm not sure anybody actually "goes" here so much as "winds up" here, which is exactly my case. I tried to see a jazz duo at a terrible wine tasting room in the same general area, but was turned away at the door for not having a ticket (which I'd happily have bought had they listed it anywhere on their web site, but I digress). So, what do to at the Vancouver Waterfront when one's original plans fall through? One winds up at said Milkshake bar. Not wanting to spend a Jackson and a Washington (or a Lincoln after tax and tip), but wanting to try a milkshake, I opted for the still obscenely overpriced $13 pint standard shake. How was it? It was truly outstanding, SUPER flavorful and creamy. Was it worth $13? Maybe once, maybe once a year, but there's nothing inherently better about this milkshake than what I've had at Ruby's Diner or other specialty shops that do it far less expensively.

Yelp
$22 for a single shake and it wasn't good. Just bland sugary bloobs. Super disappointing. Best part of the experience was that it looked really cool. The staff that helped us were nice too.

Yelp
This place is a must try, especially if you are visiting the area! Located in a beautiful and scenic shopping area, The Yard is perfect for an ice cream or milkshake treat! They are know for their gargantuan milkshakes, I would definitely say shareable! So many different flavors to choose from, all topped with some amazing donuts, cookies, cotton candy, and whatever sweet treat you can think of! They come in adorable mason jars that you can take home with you, and are so incredibly tasty (and sweet!)

Yelp
Stop in to get some ice cream after lunch. The place was super cute. The lady that was working was super nice she was also working by herself and got our ice cream out pretty fast for being the only one there. I got the vegan oatmeal cream pie milkshake in a jar. It was $20 for the milkshake to be in the jar and you got to take the jar home. I unfortunately did not like the vegan milkshake I only got it because it's their only dairy free option. So it was kinda of a waste. But the top was really good. If I do go back I would probably just get there cookie dough.

Yelp
Fun dessert but super expensive. I first went soon after they opened and the line was literally out the door. Service was ok but you could tell the employees were overwhelmed. The service is much better now that another ice cream business has gone in down the street and this shop has been very slow every time I've gone in since. My kids asked for 2 pints of their favorite flavors (no extra stuff such as brownies, sprinkles, whipped cream, etc.) and it came to $34. Ridiculous and the ice cream isn't anything special. Probably won't go back but I am glad that I tried it.

Yelp
Been here three times now and now that it's been known for awhile, it's not as busy which is nice! Street parking is free on the weekends and it's a relatively safe and clean location. The food is overpriced for sure, but it's very instagramable and decent quality. The ice cream flavors are unique and will satisfy anyone's cravings! There's some bar stools along the window to see the Columbia river view as well as tables inside. They also have some seating outside which is nice during the summer months.

Yelp
On my visit today the music is just a little too loud. The service wasn't bad. The lady behind the counter was busy but took prompt care of us. The ice cream we got was okay. Visually it was amazing looking. But, it is what I'd call spendy. For the portion size it was very pricey. Apparently if you get a milkshake you get to keep the jar it was served in? I guess I'd call that recycling? It's over a hundred miles from home. Probably won't be coming back.

Yelp
My daughter and I stopped in specifically to try out this much talked about milkshake bar. The atmosphere is very appealing, kinda farmhouse meets industrial. We were there mid week around 3:30pm. It was plenty busy but there wasn't a line. We waited for probably 10 minutes to order as the attendants were busy assembling the milkshake masterpieces. While impressive in appearance and fun that you get the adorable pint souvenir glass, $20 is definitely $8-$5 dollars more than they should charge. That being said, I do plan to go back this summer but I would order a sundae instead of a milkshake and would recommend that you share with at least one other person. We split the Peanut Butter Brownie milkshake- to eat it we deconstructed it. We took the brownie with the whipped cream and put it on the plate and then spooned the milkshake with bites of the brownie and cream. The brownie was typical store bought-a bit gummy. The whip cream wasn't real cream. The chocolate shavings attached to the side of the jar with pb were the best part and decent quality-so delicious. I love the location and I'm excited to see what else gets added in that area. Very nice along the river. Love the area and water feature across the street. There is street parking or a parking lot down a couple blocks.

Yelp
If you love a good gourmet Shake then you will love The Yard! Service is good, might have to wait a few depending their business. Great location next the beautiful Vancouver waterfront, availability to eat outside or inside, great place for a good dessert.

Yelp
We went to The Yard last night since the weather was semi-friendly for a change. We got there about 8:30-8:45 and the line wasn't terribly long. About 5 or so minutes later, we got to order. Everyone was very nice, though very busy. Very lively environment inside. The girl taking our order let us know it'd be a 25ish minute wait, which seemed a little excessive for a couple scoops of ice cream/cookie dough, but we were already there so might as well. I've see them with waits over an hour, so I guess less than half of that wait time is a win. Ended up only waiting about 15ish minutes. The cookie dough was incredibly soft and tasted pretty fresh. The ice cream was spot on as well for the price. Definitely worth checking out again, but going to have to go when there's not as much of a crowd. I'd suggest they put someone on simple scoop duty to speed orders up. I get the fancy creations take some time, but if someone was on standby to just scoop the simple stuff like we got, we'd have been in and out of there in less than 10 minutes.

Yelp
My friends and family have been to the yard a few times and I can honestly say it has gotten better over the years. When we first came 2 or so years ago I felt kind of meh about the decadent milkshakes. They didn't taste that good and were way too expensive for not great ice cream. HOWEVER, we just went back and the "pretty in pink" and "oatmeal cream pie" were so delicious. The presentation was phenomenal as always but the flavor was spot on today. Both milkshakes were so so so good and it was hard to share this time around. Obviously people complain about price but the only thing that is crazy expensive is the milkshakes with mason jars which are meant to be an eye catcher which in my families opinion is worth the $22+ every so often. However if you are looking for a quick sweet treat there is tons of other options. The workers were also super great this time around. We waited 20 minutes to find our milkshakes had not even started due to a printer error but they quickly made our shakes once we brought this to our attention and they even told us to grab complimentary cookie dough pops if we pleased. We love the yard and will make the trip to Vancouver another time for sure
google avatar

Yelp
Super cute ambiance and decor plus a station to clean your to-go mason jar! My family was visiting for the holidays and we finally decided to stop in. The milkshakes are on the pricey end but they have a lot going on! Full size brownies, cookies, cotton candy, cheesecake - and I'll keep the glass. The marshmallow ice cream was delicious - but the sides were pretty sugary! Definitely something you share and lots of different options to choose from. The spoon dispenser by the bathroom fell right on a little girl - PLEASE fix and secure that

Yelp
Gentleman working didn't really help with making a choice as I wasn't sure which one to pick, nonetheless Pralines & Cream was the choice I made and it was DELICIOUS! Received it within 5 minutes, he even walked across the street to give it to me, and went back and grabbed spoons and napkins and brought those to me as well. Which was incredibly kind! I would absolutely go back. I went on a Wednesday at like 430pm, no complaints really!

Yelp
Pricey, but worth it. The building is right on the main drag with views of the river. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The flavors are typical. We got a pint to go and pecan. Both amazing the over the top milkshake are what most come for and they are definitely worth a stop for a special occasion. The service is fast and they clean up regularly between patrons.

Yelp
Massive milkshakes with cookies and syrups to share among at least 3-4 people. Fun atmosphere and tasty ice cream--there's lots to love here, if you like ice cream covered in rich syrup and treats. A little goes a long way for me, but The Yard delivers. There is a wait on warm / hot days, but the staff moves quickly and stays friendly and focused. This is a fun place to stop with out of town guests or on special occasions with a group of people not afraid to share ice cream together.

Yelp
Here's how my review is working. My 3 stars is really about 2.5 stars. However I like to give the higher star amount to boost businesses. But here is my reason why: So we got a milkshake for 4 PEOPLE- adults! We looked at the calories and NO we are not watching our weight, but we thought it was just that large! Then to our surprise a small- typical size mason jar was brought to us and it was fairly underwhelming. We got the seasonal Peanut Butter and Jelly for back to school which was $19 plus tax. It was a peanut butter and strawberry jam mixture with an Uncrustable on top. First minus of a star was that we werent told that something was out of stock until AFTER we paid and AFTER we waited 30 minutes. Right before they brought it out they told us that they no longer had the Uncrustable, which was ONE of the many reasons we chose this specific shake. We ended up adding a waffle; and it was cold, soggy, and not great...very bland. Next minus was the taste. After waiting 30 minutes; I expected a milkshake, not a sundae in a cup. It was literally par-melted ice cream. It had very little flavor, almost dry-like due to the overwhelming amount of just peanut butter. In addition; the whip cream tasted like straight butter; maybe they were hoping the sugar would come from everything else- but it was straight butter...disgusting that we scooped it off the top and threw it out. Final Half minus of a star was the service: literally 45 mins for a shake....45 minutes and it wasn't even blended like a milk shake AND it was $19!!! THAT PRICE IS ATROCIOUS So overall- I don't see myself coming back. Unfortunately it is overpriced for very little.

Yelp
I'm happy we gave this place a try but I would not recommend it to anyone who is just looking for basic traditional ice cream. Additionally, this place isn't great for non-dairy options. They only offer vegan vanilla or vegan chocolate which is rather lame for my taste. I still ordered it but I probably ate 1/4 of this single signature creation. Toward the end of the night you can expect everything to be sticky and messy but I suppose that's more from patrons than anything else. Service was a solid C in my book, they could stand learn a thing or two about hospitality.
google avatar

Yelp
Yikes, had high hopes for this one walking in but left with more than a few beefs. The prices were udderly a rip off for what you get. $20 milkshakes and a $15 bowl is basically 2 scoops in a paper cup with a haystack of whip cream on top. Really milking the customers for all they are worth. Could have, should have just bought 10 pints of Ben and Jerry's for what it cost for 3 of us. The seating was limited, uncomfortable small chairs and tables, also limited space between tables. On par for a mid-tier airport Calfeteria, no bull. Service was not horrible but wasn't as I would expect for the premium pricing. Couldn't even drop off our ice cream bowls with a spoon or a smile despite a 20% tip for a counter order... which in hindsight was a huge moooostake. Yes there are spoons on dispensers on the walls but why not up the service level to match the pricing. All in all ice cream was ice cream and all was okay. The view and location were excellent. The value and environment just not to expectations, so our family is putting this one out to pasture.
google avatar

Anthony L.

Yelp
Overrated milkshakes. Super expensive and not worth the hype. The cashier helped one customer and took cash and then didn't wash her hands before helping us. It was very unsanitary.
google avatar

Taisiya S.

Yelp
First off, let's just level set. I will start off by saying this place is pricey and I probably would not come here if it wasn't a special occasion, this is not the place I would go to for just a regular ol' milkshake because I could just go to a drive thru, right? That being said, it was my daughter's 11 yo birthday and I wanted her to feel special and have something special and that is why I came here. It was after school on a Wednesday so there was no crazy line and I'm not even sure what other reviewers are talking about when they complain of the quality, as I am not a milkshake connoisseur and really don't know the difference between "premium" ice cream and whatever other grade people claim this is. Is it the amount of fat? Sugar content? Who knows? However- it was the cutest thing I ever saw and my daughter loved it and it made her feel special. So it was worth it. I think it's really cute. Would I love to see it cost less? Yes, but I'm not about to open up a competitor shop to prove I can make them cheaper and better. So thank you for your creativity!

Yelp
Nicely located along the growing Vancouver waterfront, Yard Milkshake Bar is attracting many with massive ice cream bowls and milkshakes topped with an assortment of goodies. There are a solid 20 options (mostly same toppings for milkshake vs bowl). Think a packed bowl/cup with brownies, cookies, doughnuts, sprinkles, chocolate syrup, and homemade cookie dough of various types. Way too much ice cream for one person. Harder to swallow than the ice cream will be the price. A specialty bowl runs $15 and a milkshake is $20 (you are essentially paying $5 for a mason jar with the company logo on it). There is a kids bowl with 1 scope of ice cream - $6. Ice cream is Blue Bell brand. One person was working - the crowd wasn't too busy while I was there, but there was still some wait. Can foresee long delays if there is a line. Plenty of tables for seating. You need the code on your receipt to access the bathroom. Salt and Straw is down the block is you want more typical ice cream. Just know what to expect if you come here - but the ice cream is beyond the norm for sure.

Yelp
We'd been wanting to come here for a while and finally made it! The wait was a bit long, but we expected that. We decided to split a chocolate mint milkshake since they are just so big and decadent! It was put into a to-go container and it traveled home pretty well. The flavor was super rich and delicious! We went for the mint to help cut the richness, and it worked super well. The mint was just the perfect kind of mint that goes with chocolate. Not too toothpastey if you know what I mean. I like that you can buy the size with the mason jar and keep it, but there are other smaller options which is nice. The menu had a lot of options, but I am an avid dark/milk chocolate lover and the options with these flavors weren't super plentiful. I am, however, quite confused by the low overall review! I think this is a neat place to go for an extra special treat. I plan on going back to try another flavor.

this was so so so so so delicious!!! 10/10 but it's a lot make sure to share :) i definitely recommend the pumpkin one in the picture

Yelp
The ice cream is not very good for the expensive price. 20 bucks for a milkshake, 15 bucks for a bowl. I opted for a single scoop of the fudge chocolate something which I didn't finish as it tasted freezer burnt, had lots of ice crystals, and was not creamy at all. Customer service was below average for the premium price you pay. I guess my expectations were a lot higher than the experience we had. Of course, we are spoiled by having some great ice cream shops in the Portland/Vancouver area such as Fifty Licks and Salt and Straw. It would be hard to recommend The Yard to anyone over the 2 spots I mentioned. At the very most I can say we went to The Yard, I know no more of our money will be going to them. In the end, the place is very over-hyped. I was going to go with one star, but I gave a second sympathy 2nd star as the location was nice.
google avatar

Stephanie W.

Yelp
Very expensive for the amount of ice cream you get. You are paying a premium price for a mason jar, a bunch of toppings and 16oz maybe of watery milkshake by the time you get through all the toppings. Asked for water, can't get that unless you pay for a water bottle. Customer service was not great either. Would not recommend or will I be going back.
google avatar

Yelp
If you want a delicious, overpriced, beautiful shake this is the place for you. On a Saturday night, you are first going to wait in line, then wait some more, and then once you order you will have an additional wait. For me it was about 50 minutes from getting in line to receiving my shake. When it finally arrived, though, it was everything I wanted! For a little over 20 dollars, with tip, it looked amazing and I was excited to try it. Turns out, it was delicious! From the cotton candy to the multi-colored whipped cream, every bit was a sugary delight. If you are a person who says about some desserts, "that is too sweet" - walk on by, this NOT the place for you. However, if you like your flavors sweet and creamy, you should try this at least once. I will be back in a few weeks to try another flavor as this is more of a rare treat then a daily staple item.
google avatar

Yelp
I see potential in this ice cream concept. This store boasts extravagantly-designed treats, a beautiful waterfront view, and very friendly staff. However, the experience is kneecapped by high prices for ice cream that is only slightly-above average and decorated with cookies and brownies that look and taste store-bought (you can actually see the plastic containers that where they come from). At these prices, I would expect homemade pastries and quality ice cream at least comparable to the superior Salt & Straw a few yards away or Treat (within walking distance). Not sure what margins The Yard is looking at, but $15-$20 is very high for the quality of dessert delivered. Their edible cookie dough is redeeming, and I would love to be able to add some of it to a scoop of ice cream without having to pay $6 for a whole cup. Hoping they can adjust course with some of their menu selections.

Yelp
The boys might be coming to yard for my milkshake but I'll already be at home in a happy food coma after finishing my milkshake. Yummy!

Yelp
Expensive for what you get. Tastes like just normal store bought items put together, as if you made it at home. Atmosphere was great and service was great. Overall expensive for a mid tier establishment.

Yelp
With all the varying reviews on "The Yard" you probably think my 3 star review is a bit of a cop out bc it isn't really great nor is it particularly poor. The fact of the matter is that it is probably the most accurate reflecting on my two trips to this place. Typically when someplace is "hot and new" I give them a lot of credit for long wait times, staff figuring out which way is up etc. when food is being cooked there's typically a learning curve there too. I tried the Yard twice bc I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Turns out they're just about average. Your experience and review of this place will be completely dependent upon what you are going here to find. Are you looking for outrageously designed shakes and Sundaes with a keepsake jar to take home or are you looking for high quality tasty ice cream? Unfortunately you won't get both of those here. What you get are some picture worthy desserts that take time and effort to prepare, but they are prepared with sub par ingredients. Ice cream is just blah. You can find better at the super market. The baked goods on some of their specials are akin to the baked goods in the day old plastic containers at Safeway. It's clear choices were made when building this brand. "Create eye catching desserts" but that's where it stops. Between the amount of staffing it takes to run this place and the high rent area this spot occupies there's no wonder the cost for a scoop of ice cream is so high (which would be more okay if the ice cream was better). Bottom line: come for the photo op and to say you've done something with a fun twist. Stay away if you're looking for small batch, rich and flavorful ice cream you can find at many other establishments in the area.

Yelp
I got what I came here for! An overpriced mediocre tasting milkshake that looks amazing! We ordered the Unicorn Milkshake for my 4 year old daughter. She loved it! (But we ate most because what 4 year old needs a pound of sugar.) A friend asked how it was because he wanted one and walked by but when he saw it was a 30 minute wait for a $20 milkshake he kept walking. All I could say to him was: YOLO.

Yelp
Making it's debut on Shark Tank in 2019, The Yard Milkshake Bar has since been making its mark all around the U.S. When my sister mentioned this was near her home, I knew I had to stop by! The choices were overwhelming, but in a good way! They've got a variety of ice cream flavors, mass amount of toppings to choose from, specialty bowls, edible cookie dough, cookie dough pops, pint jars, gluten free, vegan friendly choices, and even a secret menu! It's an endless list of menu items! They also have monthly specials! I mean, what do they not have?!? I had their "Peanut Butter Brownie Bliss" and that was insanely good despite my photo not doing it justice. I also tried their "Doughnut Touch My Coffee and Cream" and that was massive, yet so good! I had a sugar coma after that one! My sister had their Old School Banana Split Bowl and enjoyed it to the last bite. If you purchase one of their specialty milkshakes, you get to keep the jars as souvenirs. Once you're done eating your milkshake, there's a sink area inside the shop specifically for washing your jars to take home. You can also buy Milkshake kits, cookie dough in jars and merch as well! If you love ice cream, The Yard Milkshake Bar is the perfect place to give in to gluttony.

Yelp
The prettiest milk shake I've ever seen, and also the most expensive and tasteless. The milkshake itself was a piece of art and had I stopped there, this would have been a five star review, but then I dove in. And for just over $20, I was able to experience fake whipped topping and stale cookies and brownies on top of a bland milkshake. My milkshake was not fit for human consumption. I tossed it!!!

Yelp
Wanted ice cream on a warm day. This place was decent. There is a competitor close by who is very popular, but I am no longer about the hype. I just wanted "regular" flavored ice cream, and this place had it. They have giants shakes, for an extra price, of course. Know what you are buying! If you just want a scoop of ice cream, get their smallest cup. Everything else could be too much. Service was prompt and friendly. Never saw anyone clean the tables, though. It was busy the day I went, seeing the tables cleaned would have been nice.

Yelp
Pretty neat little place to get ice cream. I got two scoops of ice cream for $8.00 and I bought my nephew the $19.00 cheesecake sundae. Both were really good. This place is a lot like Baskin Robbins with all kinds of different flavors to to choose from. There are a lot of young kids who work there. They have 7 kids behind the counter and it's hard to get any service. No one asked me if I wanted a sample either. One of the employees parks her car right in from of the place during her work shift. How do they expect patrons to come inside and order if the 7 employees park their cars right in from of the establishment. I had to park way down the street. I am not too sure if I will be back as this place is way overpriced!

Yelp
Looking for an aesthetically pleasing milkshake that will satisfy your sweet tooth but also not overpower the sugar and sweetness? This is the spot!!! Mind you the milkshake is pricey. It comes with take home mason jar. Definitely not a "buy and dash" type of shake. If you're looking to hang out and watch the sunset or enjoy a day out with family and friends, this place will definitely meet your needs. Parking: paid through parking kitty on the street or you can head over to the parking lot- which is also paid. Service: you're greeted when you enter and they offer samples for ice creams. Expect a wait if the lines are long, but don't skip this place. It's definitely worth the wait. Menu: they offer ice cream, shakes, sundaes, edible cookie dough. We ordered the cookie butter me up shake with cinnamon bun ice cream, since they ran out of cookie butter, and it was so yummy! You would expect an overpowering milkshake, but no- this will please the ones who want to enjoy a shake without extra sweetness. I would definitely come back to this place. A super cute hang out spot for family and friends to share an aesthetically yummy dessert.

Yelp
Waited in line for 10 minutes, got ignored by the employee, the line is forming, I'm glad you guys are losing your business to salt and straw, and the price atrocious.

Yelp
The low reviews are pretty unfair. The stuff looks like the pictures and tastes great. The lines can be long but they still get you through pretty quick. It's a wild over the top dessert but that's what you're there for. We take people here when they visit from back home as a fun experience. The shakes are big enough to split between two people easily.

Yelp
Would give the staff five stars for the service but man, these ice cream sundaes and milk shakes are sooo expensive. When we entered, it was a really cute shop w a nice selection of ice cream. I was surprised that they even had non dairy options too. When I looked up to see the prices, I saw $15 and $18. My gosh, has inflation driven prices that high these days? I couldn't believe my eyes, w bowl of ice cream would cost $15. I could buy so much ice cream at the grocery store for this price. I get that they would charge a lot if there was a nice view but the restaurant was a bit far from the waterfront. I didn't want to leave bc she had gotten her hopes up about this and we were on vacation mode so I thought what the heck. The people here were really kind in making sure there were no allergy contamination. I appreciated that they took the extra step. The ice cream looked decadent and delicious. Our entire family enjoyed it. I would say a fairer price for this would be $10. $15 plus tax and tip is pretty steep for ONE bowl of ice cream. If they had made the ice cream themselves from a farm or there was something remarkable, okay I would understand but the price is just too unreasonable. I wouldn't come back. There are plenty of vegan and ice cream options nearby.

Yelp
First time at The Yard and will definitely not be the last. They played some R&B music which kept the long line entertaining. Moved relatively fast and received the milkshake fast too. The milkshakes look intimidating but can definitely be finished or shareable as well.

Yelp
Overpriced mediocre ice cream. $23 for a milkshake?!?! "You get to keep the mug" -- Oh... well then. By all means that mug is worth $15! (NOT) And then the staff gives us a hard time because we asked for a top to take the uneaten portion home. "Those lids cost us 10 cents." WHAT?!?!?! Don't charge me $20+ for a milkshake and then complain when I ask for a10 cent lid! Sure it looks cool, but it's not $20+ cool. Better put that on your Instagram!

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place but it was meh. We went at 1PM on a Saturday and it was rainy, so wasn't too busy, but yet busy as not many tables available. We were second in line to order, and there was a sign that said the wait would be about 5 minutes from when you placed the order which was pretty accurate. The issue for me is that the ticket price did not match the quality of the food. $19 for a milkshake (you keep the jar) and $14.50 for a bowl. I suppose this is supposed to be more of an experience and not a place you would frequent. These items would cost you $5-$10 at a typical ice cream shop. They only offer one size for the shake and bowl. Removing the jar keepsake is not an option. My fiancé liked the strawberry cheesecake icecream but the actual cheesecake was too frozen to eat. I got the Java Lava and liked the coffee Icecream but the chocolate funnel cake was dry. And what is with this tower of whip cream? If that removed $5 please do! The bowl is put on a little throwaway plate, and there was no way space to put the funnel cake or whip cream to the side, so we got an extra plate to set the the frozen cheesecake, whip cream and funnel cake. Basically we paid $30 for 4 scoops of ice cream. In addition, the service was lackluster. Felt like a cattle line, get you in and out. Icecream shakes and icecream bowls being the only thing they offer, and on the Vancouver Riverwalk, I get why it's expensive but this was too much and either need to reduce the price or up their game and offer other options, sizes, etc. They were playing some good music, and the Love Shack came on which is one of my faves, and all of a sudden someone changed it!?! While the Yard shakes look aesthetically pleasing, I'm pretty sure I could make a better one at home. In fact, I challenge you to do so! How fun would it be to have friends bring different toppings to make their own fancy milkshake. Needless to say, I would not come here again. You want a gastronomic shake and food experience, Stack 571 not even a block down, hands down beats this place in many ways. You can even get alcoholic milkshakes for you 21+ folks. While some of these complaints are minor, all together it was just too much = #ThoroughlyDisappointed

Yelp
The Yard is a great family friendly place and it's a great environment for kids or a date while walking on the Vancouver waterfront. We ordered The Mermaid Milkshake and the Cookie Monster Milkshake with the total coming out to $32 for the two. Honestly, I think this is a bit overpriced because I could just go to Dairy Queen's and get two for $7. It took about 30 to 35 minutes for the milkshakes to come out and while they looked nice, they were just overly sweet. Aside from the cream, added candy, and sprinkles, the texture of the milkshake was more milk than ice cream which was interesting. Something cool to note is that you could keep the cups and reuse them (probably not for milkshakes). Overall, the milkshakes looked incredibly appealing, like you're looking at a work of art. It was literally beautiful. But diabetes and an empty wallet would be my future if I came here quite frequently.

Yelp
This place looks so good on Instagram and the presentation is amazing. However, the flavors are so disappointing. The cookie dough has very little flavor. The best part of the $15.53 Brownie Batter bowl is the chocolate ice cream. The same can be said for the Unicorn bowl-the ice cream was the best part. We are grateful we made the drive but won't be back. Cheese and Crack is WAY BETTER!!!

Yelp
Had the Cookie Monster specialty bowl. Though it was a treat, not sure if it was worth $15. It was a popular place, as there was a never ending line to get milkshakes or ice cream. There are lots of tables and counter seats, as well as tables outside. The location was great to enjoy views of the Columbia river.
