Yard Bar Review - Allandale - Austin - The Infatuation

"Hanging out with dogs is a whole lot cheaper and more fun than therapy, so here’s your chance to do so even if your landlord doesn’t allow pets. The entire “patio” at Yard Bar off Burnet is an enormous fenced-in dog park/playground, with a full bar. Sometimes you just need a cocktail after a long day at work—but most other times adding hounds into the mix cures all ails." - Jordan Haro

The sandwiches are always delicious. "Yinz guys hungry" was really good. The breakfast smash burger got rave reviews. Wasn't the first time and certainly won't be the last. We usually come for drinks. Never too busy not to sit at the bar. Bloody Marys are a fan favorite too.

Stopped in for brunch today. It was just “ok” for me. I’ve been to The Yard in other cities and I guess I expected that same service/experience and this location fell short of that. Service was slow. It didn’t seem busy either. Not sure what was going on. The female host looked frumpy. She was wearing a long sleeve shirt, half on, half off. 🫤 Home fries were kinda cold. Prob sat under a heat lamp or something. Probably wasn’t temped for a while. The chicken and waffles was pretty good though. Definitely recommend for brunch. The chicken gravy was decent. Def added a touch to the dish.

I stopped here for brunch with my two kids. The service was okay and the food took forever. I could tell our server felt bad. Not the best experience. Once the food finally came, everyone really enjoyed it! Overall sadly I wouldn't come back due to the service.

Went here on a Friday night because there was no wait… now it makes sense. While the service and atmosphere were alright the food was horrendous. I remember high school lunch food being of better quality, which says a lot. The tap wasn’t working for the beer so only cans were available.. that’s fine things happen. But the food… I can’t get over how awful it was. The grilled chicken sandwich had potential but smelled awful like freezer burn, I was afraid to eat it. My toddlers wouldn’t even touch the cheese burger or chicken tenders. The fries, poutine and Mac and cheese balls were all blah. I never thought I’d ever say fries were blah…. McDonald’s would’ve been better and a fraction of the price. Never again!

It’s a cool atmosphere! I ordered the Pittsburgh Steak Salad. The lettuce was brown and red at the bottom of the bowl. They also chafe $2.50 extra for waffle fries. Lol. It’s a good spot for a beer, however, their food has no quality control.

Google
Friendly, laid-back open atmosphere upstairs in the Galleria. They have a great menu with many choices. I had a large grilled cheese sandwich (with tomato soup) on gluten-free bread and enjoyed it immensely because anyone on a gluten-free diet knows how hard it is to get a grilled cheese "out". Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly, I stop by here almost every time I'm in town and will continue to do so!

Google
I love coming here for office meetings because the food is great, and the side private room isn't too loud to hear one another. The food is excellent. Grilled cheeses and tomato soup are delectable, the Flatbreads are all good (I'm partial to the Imperial Swine) and the dessert was so ooey-gooey delicious! This time I opted for the poutine. Be prepared for a LOT of cheese. For once I actually couldn't finish the dish because there was (and I can't believe I'm going to say this) too much cheese. But it was delish!

Updated read all the review If I could have given it 0 I would have. They did not even toast the sandwich bread. My friend completely returned her sandwich. The bread was stale and the inside was burnt. Don't believe me judge for yourself Update : The Yard management staff sent me a 20.00 gift card to make up for the terrible meal. It was about 29% of the bill... It was so generous of them... I might go back but I'd rather them close and a better replacement restaurant take their place. May capitalism make their closing quick... UPDATE #2 The owner reached out to me via my email I sent the corporate email. He did apologize for the meal and offered a real refund of 100% of my meal plus he said we could keep the gift card. Updated my review to 2 stars as the owner reached out. When I return for another meal, I will write a separate review for that. Overall the Owner did the right thing.

Yelp
Just right as a mid-day gastropub. I had the Smash Club Burger. Kristin waited on us and she had a great attitude; a lot of tables but she still managed to take great care of us.

Yelp
I ate here recently for a birthday party in the private room which was free to reserve. We went for brunch and most of us had the bottomless mimosas for $15. Hobie was our server and he was awesome! He was quick to refill all drinks and was prompt & professional. Service was 5 stars. Food was pretty mediocre. The best thing I tried was the buffalo chicken dip with pita by far. Most of had grilled cheeses. We had a nice time but this isn't somewhere I would seek out again based on food quality & price for what you get.

Steve J.

Yelp
Overpriced menu items - really you're paying 15 dollars for a grilled cheese. They overfill the serving with chips and put what has to be a single ladle of tomato soup for each order. Picture attached is exactly how much was in a serving for a to-go order.

Yelp
We stopped in on a Saturday for a late lunch. No wait to be seated. We started with the pub pretzels along with a beam me up and aloha Felicia to drink. I ended up swapping to a Fat Heads Bumble Berry as the beam me up was too sweet for me. I ordered the Smack and it was very filling, had to get a to go box for the other half. Everything else came out great as well. If you got a hankering for some grilled cheeses, this is the place to be!

Yelp
So we decided to go here for lunch during lent and get grilled cheese sandwiches. Wow did it not let down. Crispy cheese edges on a thick sourdough Texas toast. And a bowl of tomato soup and waffle fries. Left so full and satisfied. Excellent lunch option anytime but especially during lent. The service was great as well. One server, lots of customers, no wait on anything. Plus this place is pretty cool. The open concept is a very nice change.

Yelp
I'm truly surprised I hadn't written a review. I absolutely love this place! I enjoy their menu, staff, drinks, and everything in between. The staff is personable. Some of my past servers have been: Kendall, Amanda, Tony, Trisha (sp?). They always tolerate my ridiculous personality, and work with us The food is always up to par. May I recommend the Mac attack? If you love cheese it will be the best thing you will experience. I have been here way too many times, at this point they know my order. You could NEVER go wrong with anything you order here. You can try, but you won't succeed. Also, the brunch menu is a mix of heaven, nirvana, and absolute deliciousness. The bottomless mimosas are definitely a nice touch too. If you don't like this place we need to swap numbers and discuss about how to get rid of the negativity in your life

Yelp
I visited the Galleria location after going to The Yard in Shadyside many times. The grilled cheeses, fries, and tomato soup were just as delicious as I remembered, but the service left something to be desired. Our server was a little frosty and I felt that we were rushed to finish our meal even though the place wasn't exactly packed. In the future I'll probably stick to the downtown or Shadyside locations.

Yelp
Sports bar ambiance with tasty brunch options. Friendly, attentive staff. We enjoyed our quick Saturday brunch here on 9/10/22

Yelp
unbelievably poor service waited for 10 minutes at the bar for a drink order ordered one chicken sandwich and waited over 30 minutes bartender said the due to crowd- at 8 pm on Saturday night the place was 1/4 full don't tell me what I can see isn't true

Beth P.

Yelp
Very disappointing. My friend was so excited about the menu, which was actually not very good, just lots of promise. I ordered a medium rare burger which was served medium well. I couldn't eat it because it was also somewhat burned as well. The homemade chips seemed overdone and tasteless. Our waitress tried to be very accommodating and did talk the manager. The manager did not bother to appear but took off $2.50. A complete disappointment. Never again, and I live a mile from the Galleria! I understand now why it was not at all busy.

Yelp
Come for the happy hour, but maybe find somewhere else for dinner. It was great to find ~$3 local beer on tap for happy hour (1/2 off) - & the special on Monday was that local beers were only $4 after happy hour ended. This seems like a great place to grab a drink after work. The space was spacious, and being tucked away on the top floor of the Galleria was fun. Our waitress was friendly, and even though bar service was slow, our waitress made sure we got our drinks quickly enough. However, the food left a lot to be desired. I was surprised by the prices to start, but that pricing led to higher expectations that were quickly dashed by mediocre food. $15 for a grilled cheese (tho with chips and soup) seemed pretty wild to me. So, I settled for a Pittsburgh Steak Salad (also $15) since that at least came with fries; I was disappointed to find that the salad was mostly lettuce with three waffle fries and three slices of cucumber on top. I can't imagine wanting to come here for dinner again, but the bar specials are too good to pass up the next time I'm looking for an afternoon drink.

Yelp
We have had dinner at this restaurant multiple times but tonight was the best experience we have had! Our server, Logan, was attentive and kind in helping us find something on the menu our daughter could eat. The head chef, Sean, was also extremely accommodating and helpful! The food was better than it has ever been and we are looking forward to coming back soon!

Yelp
My friends and I were looking for a brunchy-type place in the South Hills and The Yard in The Galleria had a menu right up our alley. The location is really cool, at the very top floor of The Galleria and indoor-open-air overlooking the rest of the mall. There's TVs all over the place, making it a great place to watch the game. There were lots of people with the Steelers jerseys on for the game, just what I like to see! The food was a little underwhelming, having come in with high expectations of their specialty gourmet grilled cheese. Three of us got three different grilled cheese sandwiches. There were a lot of options, so there is something for everyone, but they tasted average to me. The bread was hardly grilled, but the inside was really good. My friends were raving about their ranch dressing they got on their salads, and the tomato soup, albeit small, was really good too. My other friend got the Belgian waffle and she also said it was good. There was a lot blueberry/mascarpone relative to how small the waffle was. Given that the environment is open air, we felt pretty safe COVID-wise. All staff was wearing masks, tables were spaced out, they have clearly marked clean and used item areas, and silverware came individually wrapped in plastic wrap. The service was really friendly too.

Yelp
We've been here a numerous amount of times. I am surprised that I had never reviewed the place. Today we came for brunch, however they were serving the regular menu and I couldn't sway away from my favorite "Mother of Dragons" once again, a glass of Malbec. My wife got the Bottomless "Mimosa", you pay $7 per Mimosa, and it's $15 for bottomless, which the cutoff is 14. It was a no brainer, as she may have slammed 6 of them back. In reality, when your glass is 1/2 full they refill it. The food was delicious as always, good service. Always a great treat to visit the Yard. The beers on tap were okay, I wish I could see more local beers available v/s craft beers in other states.

Yelp
This place did not disappoint! It's located inside the Galleria Mall on the very top level. It has a casual relaxed vibe to it. I was very surprised by how busy it was, but I soon found out why. This place was fabulous! Our waitress was fantastic. Although very busy, she still made it a point to check on us and provide top notch service. We started out with drinks and appetizers. The shake your Pom poms was very good almost like adult koolaid, but better. My boyfriend downed 2 of the fancy craft beers and seemed to really enjoy them. Our appetizers really hit the spot. The Buffalo chicken dip was spectacular and those warm pitas, wow! My boyfriend loved the poutine fries. I ordered the yard burger for my entree and my boyfriend went with the chicken and waffles sliders. Both meals were really good, of course, just like everything else here. This was our first date here and it definitely won't be our last. Do yourself a favor and check this place out!

Yelp
The service was underwhelming. The setting is decent. The food was below average. The grilled cheese were dry and not very tasty. The burger was average and the soup too salty. The house made chips were the best part of the meal. $80 for crappy grilled cheese. There are better options out there

Clete P.

Yelp
Food is good. Service is awful. Not crowded and a 20 minute wait for drinks. Convenient if in the Galleria shopping but plan on a longer wait time.

George C.

Yelp
My family and I love this place. One of my kids favorite restaurants. They love the food. The servers are always nice. They can get a little overwhelmed when they get busy but do their best to make the customer happy.
google avatar

Jay G.

Yelp
The food was fine but overpriced. I ordered the mac and cheese which was a side dish for over $7. It was good but a tiny portion. The waffle fries were soggy. I ordered my sandwich without tomato. I hate tomatoes. You guessed it there were tomatoes on my sandwich. Took the tomato off and all my garlic aioli went with it. Either food needs to be better or the prices lower. I cant see paying $50 for 2 meals if the quality isn't there.

Yelp
This was my first time at the Galleria location. It's a gorgeous restaurant, tons of light. It was pretty hot with the sun so I would dress in layers. Our server was fantastic. Friendly, quick, great suggestions. I had gone with brunch on the brain. But once I eyeballed the grilled cheeses, I forgot all about brunch. I got the Buffy the Mac Attack Slayer. It' a grilled cheese with mac n cheese and buffalo chicken dip ON IT! It's a burst of flavor and impossible to quit eating, even once I was full. I also did the waffle fries which were good (the sweet potato ones are better). I did their basically bottomless mimosas. Delicious and fresh, they don't skimp on the Prosecco. For dessert, I shared the (I think I have the name wrong) Munchie bread or something. Idk it had a weed name. It's bread deep fried with Nutella, peanut butter, and marshmallow fluff. I don't even like dessert and it was the best thing I've tasted jn awhile. I will definite be back!

Yelp
The Yard is on the upper level of the Galleria, the Bar can give you a full view of the length of the main floor of the Galleria. It is a spacious area with a BIG bar and many tables around. This was our first visit to the Galleria location of THE YARD. We stumbled upon their Happy Hour which runs from 4:30-6:30. The Happy Hour gives you $2 off appetizers and half price drafts. There were 3 beers on a month long special at a price of $3.50. Like Happy Hour all month on these three beers. Big screens rotate the beer offerings with info on brewery, ABV, and IBU as well as a binder of beers, seltzers, cider and wine. The staff at this location is exceptional. John, and Jaz were attentive and checked in often to answer questions and to ensure our expectations on the food. The menu offers many sandwiches, especially grilled cheese. My hubby had the Philly Cheese which came with tomato soup and home made chips. He raved about the meal. The sandwich was loaded with beef and cheese and spilled over the bread it was so big and delicious. I enjoyed a HUGE Caesar blackened chicken salad. Again this is a really big portion. Easily could feed two. Lots of grated cheese and 2 side cups of dressing. After the dressing rested a while it became a bit thinner to mix in the salad. We had a gift card that turned out not to be for The Yard. Manager Tay was diplomatic about bringing this to our attention. Turns out we share the same last name. The Yard is big, open, has a cool vibe and the service and employees super friendly and great service.

David G.

Yelp
The comfort food here is always consistently delicious, and the portions are generous. It's the perfect spot for a hearty and affordable meal, and the friendly staff make you feel right at home.

Vince P.

Yelp
Tate was our server on a large party and he did an amazing job. The group was booked by Braden and he was very accommodating for our needs. We look forward to coming back in the near future.

Stephanie A.

Yelp
The food was amazing. I can't say enough about the staff. they were phenomenal!! I would highly recommend this place!!

Cheri U.

Yelp
First I'd like to say that my husband visited The Yard in downtown PGH and loved it. Even though I had a sub-par experience years ago at the Mt Lebanon location, he urged me to try it again. It was worse than I had remembered. Most of the food was cold... Tater tots, soup, my sandwich. My husband's sandwich was ok, mine was basically a SteakUmm grilled on stale bread with some cheese sauce. My coleslaw was room temp and sour. The hostess was friendly enough, but our waitress never even gave us her name and didn't offer to get us anything else to drink after she brought our initial ask. She openly was on her phone most of the time. I should have know it was a mistake when we were the only ones in the place to begin with and not one other customer, aside from a take-out order, came in the entire time we were there. I reached out and haven't heard back. Definitely would never return. I NEVER do this, but I would strongly urge anyone to pick an alternative. I'm sure they won't be there much longer anyway.
google avatar

Lindsay M.

Yelp
We went to The Yard last Friday night, and sadly, I can not give this restaurant any more than one star...and that might be generous! It was almost 8 o'clock when we went up to the hostess stand. They told us that a table for two would be around 30 minutes. There was only one table ahead of us, and we could see over six empty tables. We realized they must've been understaffed, so we sat down and tried to enjoy our wait time. After about five minutes, we saw there were two empty seats at the bar so we went to sit there. It looks like there were four people working behind the bar, and after 10 minutes, not one of them, acknowledged us, cleaned up our area, or made eye contact with us. I get that you are busy, but all they had to say was give us a minute we're a little busy or we will be right back, but we got absolutely nothing. After waiting 10 minutes to never get talked to we decided to get up and leave. I am not sure that I've ever done that with my husband and we have been married for 15 years.

Yelp
If you like grilled cheese sandwiches and you're in the mood for a splurge, The Yard is the place to go! I'm a big fan of their downtown location, so I was excited when they announced they would be opening a new set of doors in the South Hills as well. I (and my family) have eaten here several times since it opened, and we always love it. Service is good and the food is fantastic! The last time I was here, a friend and I enjoyed a delicious brunch on a busy Sunday. Busy it may have been, but our waiter checked on us often and we were never left wanting. My friend ordered the Big Che-Bowski sandwich (which includes two cheeses, over-easy egg, bacon, and tomato) while I ordered the Snozzberry Pancakes (topped with Strawberry & Blueberry syrup and ricotta whipped cream). Both were nothing short of amazing. His sandwich was the kind of messy but appetizing grilled cheese that you savor with every bite, while my three sweet and tasty thick flapjacks had me smiling with every bite. Also, half of the stack had to come home with me, because it was MASSIVE. Good portions, good service, great food - it's everything I could ask for. That's why I always look forward to visiting The Yard!
google avatar

Kristie B.

Yelp
Went for brunch today and was not disappointed. I've been to The Yard a few times and everything is always so good. Everything on the brunch menu is amazing and they also offer bottomless mimosas. If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by!

Yelp
We stopped in the Yard over Thanksgiving break with family. My parents were excited to bring us in since someone we went to grade school with is one of the owners. I have to say it's quite a great concept. Grilled cheese, comfort food, sports, great service and beers galore! Our server, Wayne, was just fantastic and he explained to us that he's been around for almost all of the openings of the Yard. Their service was great - we saw about 5-7 different people throughout the meal refilling our drinks or clearing plates. Usually, you always have to wait for your server, but it was a very good team approach to their service model. Since it was our first time in, we figured we had to try the grilled cheese, but they have other items then grilled cheese! The menu items had rather creative names too! I had the "Big Che-bowski" on gluten free bread. Couldn't have been happier that they had gluten free bread. We also started with the buffalo chicken dip with the creative name "I dip, you dip, we dip". The chicken dip was served with corn tortillas too. The staff was knowledgeable or will ling to find out which items were safe for gluten free people and which were not. The grilled cheese comes with two sides, and there's a variety of items that you can upgrade to for a small charge. My husband had the mac and cheese and said it was just as amazing as others had told us. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
The Yard. Well, what else do you find in the yard? Heaping piles of crap, which is what the Yard has turned into. I have given this place multiple chances and every time I'm a little more disappointed and don't think I will be going back for a while. The first time I went I was satisfied. It was a new place with a new concept, but once I went back the menu changed and there wasn't must that caught my eye. Well my last experience will most likely be my last. We went and it sounded like a cafeteria. There was a table of at least 30 standing around yelling. Not the Yard's fault but Jesus. Anyway our server comes over and I asked for 3 waters because we were all running to the rest room. Well once we were all back we sat for a while, and I guess someone else noticed, I believe his name was Marcus, and he offered to take our order. Our actual server was Rachel and she was friendly/good with refills. Well we get our food and this is where the disappointment hits. We got the MTV wrap with chicken and it was a wrap filled with lettuce. So when you're paying $3 for chicken it's pretty disappointing. As for the side we got the veggie of the day, which was squash. It was okay and came in a tiny bowl, definitely not worth the up charge. Same thing with the side of Mac and cheese I got with the impossible burger. An extra $3.49 for a side of Mac and cheese that tastes worse than kraft. I just think the quality and quantity of food you get for the up charges are pretty ridiculous. There's nothing about the food that makes me think wow I can't wait to go back. If you want a good meal, just go downstairs to BRGR. If you want average food but for a reasonable price go to TGIFridays.

Yelp
Had wanted to try this place out for a very long time and finally got the chance this past weekend. The place looks great on the inside. We were here for dinner, but it would definitely be a fun happy hour spot. The service was great throughout the night as well. We ordered the buffalo chicken dip as an appetizer and it was very good. However, for future visits I do not think I would get an appetizer because the main course portions are huge. My sandwich was called Buffy the mac slayer. Buffalo chicken with mac and cheese. Sometimes a sandwich with mac and cheese can turn into a mess quick, however the quality bread they used help it stay together and made for a delicious sandwich. The home cut fries with their house made ranch were also very good. You can have your fries topped with different seasonings, I went with Cajun and it was perfect. I also really liked their tomatoe soup. My wife had a standard mac and cheese which she thought was pretty good. My mom had the frank the tank, which was buffalo chicken dip, cheese, and an onion ring. She wasn't a huge fan, but I thought it was great. My dad had the wang Chung which is bbq pulled chicken and Asian slaw. This was probably everyone's least favorite sandwich. Overall I was very happy with the trip and will definitely be returning to try more of their sandwiches.

Willow N.

Yelp
Food was "ok", server was a little strange, probably wouldn't return, I've eaten at other locations of this chain, this one disappoints.

Daniel S.

Yelp
The food was ok, some dishes we tried were good and some were really bad. I ordered a specialty drink, a mai tai and it was packed full of ice and it tasted water down with no flavor. Service wasn't good but that is because only one girl waiting tables on a Wednesday night.

Yelp
Had a great time, great bottomless mimosas, huge breakfast platters and the waiters/waitresses were surpurb!
google avatar

Scott M.

Yelp
Had brunch there yesterday and I was shocked at how small the portions were. Had the chicken a waffle sliders and they gave me basically a shot glass size container of syrup. Waffle was ok but the chicken was a small frozen Pattie you can get in a box at Aldies. The Bloody Mary I got was the worst I have ever had but the garnish was cool. Place was clean and our server was very good but a $100.00 dollar brunch is very pricey for what you get. I will never go there for brunch again. Although burgers I seen people getting looked pretty good and I love a good burger so may return to give them one more chance.

Yelp
We just left The Yars and had great food and even better service. We got the poutine fries which were so flavorful and absolutely delicious. The fresh cut fries weren't greasy, the gravy was full of flavor, the cheese added creaminess and the beer cheese took it to a whole different level. We also tried the heirloom tomato tartlets on their special menu and they were so good! They also were extremely flavorful with tomatoes, goat cheese and cranberries. It was sweet, salty and savory and the flavors complimented each other extremely well. They were delicate, light and beautiful. I am a vegetarian and wanted to try something different, I got Yinz Guys Hungry? Without the sirloin. The sandwich itself didn't have much flavor, but I assume that's because I removed the meat. I got onion rings and fries as my sides and enjoyed both. My bf got The Big Che-bowski and loved it. He prefers his bacon a bit more crispy than how it was served, but that's completely personal preference. He said even with that, it was absolutely fantastic and he would get it again. He had waffle sweet potato fries which were served with a cinnamon butter that was really fun and tater tots. Both of which were again really good. We really enjoyed the food, but the service was incredible. The gentleman and woman who waited on us were attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable, accommodating, helpful and professional. They genuinely treated us like family and friends which makes such a big difference. We look forward to returning and trying different things!

Yelp
Nice place for a brunch! Many vegetarian options, yummy mimosas, loved the blueberry pancakes, they could have added more filling though. Nice aesthetic. Overall great experience.

Yelp
Morgan was absolutely great! It was our first time at this location but she made us feel like regulars. Had such a nice time with my cousins, and will be returning very soon.

Yelp
Ordered take out. Arrived when they stated it should be ready and our meal came out as we arrived. We shared the shared the wings, buffalo mild, and they are pretty average wings, like mine a little more spicy. A couple of us had one of the grilled cheese and were happy with our meals. The tomato soup that comes with a grilled cheese was good and a nice accompliment to the grilled cheese. My Jerk was good with some spiciness from the pepper jack cheese and the pulled pork was plentiful and good but could have had a few more onion straws. The breading was toasted perfectly. A couple had one of the burgers and were happy with the choice of a little pink and the fancy toppings. All in all a nice meal if you are interested in grilled cheese.

Yelp
Grilled cheese lovers rejoice!! This isn't your typical grilled cheese- you can order a basic one but I wouldn't recommend it! They are gourmet and super tasty grilled cheeses. I love the My Diet Starts Monday and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Soooooo tasty. The homemade chips and little bowl of tomato soup also compliment the meal well. What a fun and unique dining experience! Cannot wait to come back and try another gourmet grilled cheese.

Yelp
My husband and I came here with some friends after work. I had heard both good and not-so-good things, so we wanted to check this place out ourselves. The menu is huge! I would've gotten one of the many gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches (for which the restaurant is known), but I had my eyes on the pulled pork flatbread when I looked up the menu online. It was incredible. Great portion of meat, cheese, onions/jalapeños, and barbecues sauce. It was really neatly contained as well! My husband got the grilled cheese with buffalo chicken and mac n cheese. I had a few bites, and it also did not disappoint! Very flavorful and a great portion size. His was a little more messy than mine though. The grilled cheese sandwiches are served with a small side of tomato soup (tasted a bit like marinara sauce, would've been yummy with some plain grilled cheese or Texas toast) and house made chips. We will definitely be back to try more! Ps we also liked The Yard much more than The Melt (similar type of grilled cheese place in Cleveland) in terms of both food and service!

Yelp
Can't say enough good things about this place! I was looking for a venue to plan a small baby shower from out of town. After a friend recommended the Yard due to the private room, I sent an email via the website. Chuck was quick to respond and was extremely easy to work with. He answered all of my questions and made the process a breeze. He assisted in putting together a set menu and even printed them out for the day of the event. The shower was on a Sunday midday - I arrived an hour early to set up and decorate and the staff was friendly and assisted with the little details. Our server was amazing and made sure we always had food, water, drinks and plates. The vibe with wooden decor worked perfect with our theme and there was music enough to be festive but not so loud you couldn't hear. All of the food that came out was great! Everyone raves about the mac and cheese ball appetizer and all of the flatbreads were phenomenal. For main entree I had the mother of dragons grilled cheese with tomato soup and it was beyond amazing. Others has the Pittsburgh salad (which was Huge!) sunny in Philadelphia grilled cheese and cheesy capreesy grilled cheese. Most took boxes to go. The drinks were not shy on liquor. This place does not skimp On ingredients from either the bar or kitchen. I would definitely return for brunch or dinner next time I'm in town and if you're planning an event The Yard should be a top contender!

Yelp
Brunch! I love this place - perfect brunch spot in the South Hills in my opinion!!! Two words - bottomless mimosas! (The charge is $15 but they allow you Up to 15 glasses... and they encourage you to get your moneys worth!) I've always been a fan of the Galleria - it's not a huge mall but has some cute shops (Hello, Anthropologie) and just an all around clean, warm, not super crowded feel. The Yard sits on the top floor and overlooks the mall area - people watching on point! ;) The beignet pancakes do not disappoint!!! The mimosas are a definite must if you're visiting on a Saturday or Sunday for brunch. My favorite item on their menu is something always available to order - The Big Chebowski. It is DELICIOUS! Grilled cheese + bacon + egg (yolky when you cut into it) + tomato. Always my go to, always delightful! Stop in and give this place a try!!!

Yelp
We took the family here this past weekend. The family means 4 adults & 3 kids aged 4-6. We had a terrific time. The waitress was very attentive to the kids, which we appreciated big time. The kids menu worked out well, with the chicken nuggets being a huge hit. The mac & cheese didn't work out so well, but that was only because there were some black dots that Max was NOT keen on! On the adult side, we were all happy with our grilled cheese sandwiches. I had the Big Chew-bowski (fried egg & bacon) & liked it. Next time I'm planning to try the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, which my son-in-law had & loved. I was very happy with my white lightening pale ale beer & will definitely have it again next time.

Yelp
I really hate giving poor reviews, but I have to when food makes you sick. My mom and I came here after some shopping at the Galleria and we both ordered some of their gourmet grilled cheeses. They tasted okay, more like a sandwich than a grilled cheese, and I took my leftovers home. About an hour later, something just wasn't right in my stomach, and you can guess the rest. I have a stomach made of steel, so I was nervous when the onset of symptoms came on so fast. Finally after a couple of hours, I relaxed and my mom called me late at night and said she was having similar problems. It was AWFUL. Nothing really else to say about this place, one bad experience can taint it forever!

Yelp
The Yard is a chain restaurant and I was looking forward to my first opportunity to try it. They occupy the top floor of the Galleria shopping center near the junction of Connor and Washington Roads. I had some time to kill before my hair apt so I stopped over here to grab a bite to eat. While they are known for various grilled cheeses and drafts they had a good selection of salads and burgers to choose from. I was seated fairly quickly. My waitress took time out to explain the menu to me. I ordered the bison burger but I was a little concerned about the spicy sauce that comes with it. She was nice enough to put it on the side for me. Your utensils and napkins are in a holder in the center of your table so there's plenty for all my needs. The bar area is in the center of the restaurant. All sandwiches come strictly with chips. You can for a slight upcharge swap those out for fries, coleslaw or even the vegetable of the day. Today it was buttered asparagus. They also have a soup of the day. Today was chili and I really wasn't in the mood for another salad to go with it. I got my food within a reasonable amount of time. My bison burger came with the usual lettuce, tomato, etc toppings and was indeed a thick cut. It was very good and very filling. I also enjoyed the asparagus which is one of my favorite vegetable and the melted butter that was poured over it was a nice touch. This place has their own rest room and if it is too difficult to climb stairs they have an elevator which will take you to the main floor. You can park anywhere both inside or outside the Galleria to come here. I was very pleased with my visit and am looking forward to returning to try out their other offerings.

Yelp
First time at The Yard was a simple yet not the best place. If you are wanting a nice side of typical fries, this is not the place for you. My lovely date's french fries were way too crispy and were not consisting of any potatoes just crunch. The creamy broccoli cheddar soup was not the most appetizing or appealing to look at so it ruined my appetite a bit. Peirogies and grilled cheese were good and other customers said they would eat again although it is not to die for or would want to come back. Service was ok as well. Sadly disappointed with this trip to a new place and would not recommend coming.

Yelp
Was excited to try this new Yard location. Came here for brunch on a Saturday and the place was not too crowded. I started off with orange juice and my friend had coffee. I ended up getting the pierogies n' at grilled cheese as I have had that at their other locations. My friend got the fried chicken and waffle sliders. My grilled cheese was good, but it was drenched in oil. The tomato soup also had a pool of oil at the top. The chips were fine. I couldn't even finish the meal, because everything was so oily. My friend enjoyed her chicken sliders. I don't know if it was this location or what, but usually the food is not so greasy.

Yelp
I had such an excellent experience at the yard in the galleria! I came here on a busy Friday night around 6 with a couple of friends expecting to have a bit of a wait. Wrong! We were seated immediately and soon after our waiter, Anthony L came over to grab our drinks. He was so pleasant and friendly! He swiftly came back with our drinks and we put in our food order. Maybe 10 minutes later our food came out and everything was right! I got the Blackened Chicken Caesar Salad and it was great! The chicken was cooked perfectly. I'm always a little iffy with chicken but this was amazing! There was just enough of everything in the salad. We were in and out within an hour & I was so thoroughly impressed with this visit! Everything from the quick service, great waiter, and awesome food, the Yard earned my 5 stars!
