"Head to Navy Yard’s waterfront nook to check out its Swinging Bells Light Yards installation, then flock to one of many nearby bars and restaurants to sip a holiday cocktail recently featured in a friendly neighborhood competition. That includes District Winery’s tequila-spiced concoction served in a reindeer-decorated glass (the crowned winner); Trouble Bird’s pumpkin spice whiskey cocktail; and Agua 301’s spicy pomegranate paloma in a snowman mug. The DIY holiday bar crawl also includes featured drinks at La Famosa, Shilling Canning Company, and Bluejacket, all offered in festive glassware." - Vinciane Ngomsi, Kalina Newman

Bring the kids on a hot summer day and enjoy the sounds and surrounding areas. Great views are a super short distance from tons of awesome places, including national stadium, board walk, trails, and lots of scenic areas. Enjoy at night as well with local music and great vibes.

Nice park to walk around for a weekend stroll. I visited this park after touring the National Museum of the United States Navy right by. There are a lot of restaurants along the park, along with opportunities to kayak along the Anacostia River. The swimming pool shown on the Google Maps info card was drained and closed when I arrived, and I'm not sure when it'll reopen. There's not too much shade around the park, so bringing an umbrella or some sunscreen is a good idea, especially on a hot sunny day.

Great area to have a seat along the Anacostia River. There are several nearby restaurants, ice cream shops and cafes. There is a boardwalk along the waterway where you will see plenty of dog-walking, runners and walkers.
