We stayed overnight for a private Christmas family gathering. From checking in to checking out the experience was amazing. The staff were so friendly helpful and knowledgeable. The dinner was superb. Chef delivered a triumph. Would recommend to anyone

We stayed here for 1 night as a family and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We had dinner in the main restaurant which was wonderful. The dishes were delicious and interesting and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We ended up staying for both breakfast and lunch the next day as it snowed early in the morning, and we couldn't drive out of the driveway for a few hours because of it. The way in which our plight was handled was very conscientious and we were well looked after. Extremely comfortable beds and rooms too. The only slight downfall was the fact that they were unable to accommodate our dietary requirements for the tasting menu. We had all hoped to get the tasting menu as a table, but were told that it was "very meaty" and that it could not be adjusted for 2 vegetarians/pescatarians. We have had dinner in other Michelin starred restaurants before where they have done so, no questions asked, so we were a bit taken aback by this as we were looking forward to trying the 8 courses. The food we did have was amazing, it just would have been nice to try more of it!

Well Worth the Journey… The Yorke Arms is a beautiful 18th century coaching house and shooting lodge located in Ramsgill in the Nidderdale Valley. The location is at least a 40 minute drive from any major town and the drive though the Yorkshire Dales takes you past the most amazing and outstanding countryside with natural beauty that would be hard to beat anywhere else - making the trip worthwhile in itself. Although there are rooms for overnight stays, we were there for the food…After entering into a charming old bar/reception area, we were taken into the main dining room which is decorated in the style of classic British elegance. And classic was the theme for the whole experience. Formal, polite, yet friendly service. Disappointingly, the Tasting Menu is not available at lunch although the three course lunch menu priced at £45 has a breadth of options for all tastes. After being seated, delicate parmesan tartlets and home made crisps were served - with the bold flavour of the cheese awakening the palate. A small beetroot jelly followed, which was on the opposite end of the taste spectrum, stretching the range of the taste buds for maximum appreciation of the main event...We started with “Cured Halibut, Horseradish - Scallop & Whitby Crab” which was presented on the plate like a work of art with each ingredient separated far enough apart to enjoy them on their own or mixed with the different sauces/dressings spread or dotted across the “canvas”. Main course was “Alexander Crusted Venison, Rubbed Calves Liver - Spelt & Relish”. Tender, perfectly cooked juicy venison. The calves liver was smooth, gamey and an ideal match for the meat. Rich, tasty gravy tied everything together. For dessert, “Dark Chocolate - Lemon, Ginger, Salted Milk Ice Cream”. Again, a selection of beautifully presented items on the plate, delicious in isolation and heavenly when combined. Coffee and petit fours were served on the other side of the bar/reception area in the lounge. This was the weakest part of the experience. The coffee, although tasty, was described on the menu as Nespresso - somehow it doesn’t feel special when you know you’re drinking retail coffee at a Michelin starred restaurant, that you can make at home. It would have been better to not have the coffee described as Nespresso and have been none the wiser. Also, the lounge area was filled to capacity and it felt as though everyone was on top of each other with no privacy. These two factors unfortunately prevent The Yorke Arms from being a 5 star experience. Nevertheless, the food and wine were outstanding, innovative yet classic, overall good value and worth the journey though the natural and beautiful countryside of the Yorkshire Dales. Fully recommended.

Stayed here for a wedding, staff were excellent throughout the whole weekend. The loacation and setting of the Yorke arms was excellent. The breakfast served in the morning was 10 out of 10. The room was perfect, with great shower and facilites. I shared the room with my disable nephew and he had no problems getting around the venue apart from after a few drinks! Great location for a wedding and excellently facillitated by the Yorke arms.

.We went for the 5 course starter menu and weren't disappointed. Each morsel was delicious and every mouthful was bursting with different and subtle flavours. The staff were attentive to every need. A fabulous place to celebrate a special occasion

I remember this amazing place like it was yesterday. I lived here for 6 months. I have the opportunity to learn, meet amazing people, and save great memories. I remember every single area of this place and town. It's on the list of places I'll visit in the near future with my family!. I will recommend it for sure to many of my foreign clients who travel to the UK. The chef, Frances Atkins, Roger and John, the staff, great people, and I will definitely visit the new lakeside café in Harrogate to see them again.

Yelp
The Yorke Arms is certainly worth the journey and the price tag. We had a wonderful set menu where the bonus amuse bouche course blew our minds before we'd even properly started! Surprisingly there's no mention of the existence of a wine flight anywhere, but there is one which was very good. There's also some decent dessert and other sweet wines and I had a lovely chardonnay. What I found different here to my other (very limited) experience of tasting menus was the courses were really tasting and satisfying, I'm often disappointed by the main meat course but that was probably my favourite here. Really though I couldn't fault anything about the experience, apart from the classic struggle to get the bill at the end - not that we were keen to leave such a cosy environment! I would strongly recommend and would love to return.

Yelp
This is a fantastic Michelin star hotel and restaurant in a superb remote location. The food is prepared and served with a passion from both chefs and servers. Wonderful flavours and presentation. Relaxed dining means no need to dress in tops and tails and the staff are very friendly. You always imagine these places to be snobberish but that's not the case at all. Courtyard rooms are also fantastic. This is a gem of a place.

Yelp
This Michelin star rated restaurant and hotel is a great retreat if you want find food with very comfortable accomodation. Set in the picturesque Yorkshire dales it's surrounded by rolling countryside so there's plenty of walking to be done if you like that sort of thing. The food is excellent and the serve really good too. I found the wine list to be less co,mprehensive than I expected for such a gourmet orientated place, but there's still enough to choose from.

Yelp
Visited the Yorke Arms a few weeks ago after a weekend away in Harrogate. Very good service, excellent canapes as a prelude to an excellent meal. service understated but friendly and very knowledgeable. Good to find waiting staff that really do know about and understand the food and cheeses they are selling! In a nice setting in the Dales, a cosy set of rooms inside. Gives the feel of relaxed but well organised, experienced and competent. Went for the tasting menu adding the cheese as a separate course. Overall well balanced and presented. The meal was modern in style, very accomplished, not relying on lots of cream and butter to create flavour. Brave with the produce and letting things speak for themselves and focus on fresh, light flavours. Close to perfect. Reasonably good selection of wines including a good selection by the glass. Deservedly Good Food Guide Restaurant of the Year 2008

Yelp
rude staff made my wife cry . we had been involved in an RTA a few yards from the hotel / restaurant, wouldn't allow her to make a call on their phone and were unwilling to serve a hot chocolate, we were forced to wait 2 hours for a tow truck in the snow in -4 weather not what I would call a warm Yorkshire welcome.
