Thatched-roof booths & starry ceilings set the scene for rum & tiki drinks by the Future Bars team.
"After their runaway success with second wave Tiki bar Pagan Idol, the Future Bars team re-imagined their classic cocktail destination, Tradition, as another Tiki fantasy: Zombie Village. Daniel “Doc” Parks, the team’s Tiki mastermind, helped plan the two-level design at Zombie Village, which is rich and elaborate, with a second, upstairs bar dubbed “Doc’s Voodoo Lounge.” As for the drinks: “We definitely went a little more progressive here [than Pagan Idol], says Parks, “having some things that are a step outside of Tiki, but still relevant to that tropical vibe.”" - Caleb Pershan
"Another tiki hideaway, this one in the Tenderloin and also from the Bourbon & Branch/Pagan Idol team, Zombie Village serves lots of cooling cocktails to temper imagined tropical winds. Don’t miss the coco pandan — but how could you, when it’s the one with a lychee and coconut popsicle sticking out?" - Lauren Saria, Dianne de Guzman, Caleb Pershan
"Zombie Village stormed the Bay Area’s vibrant tiki scene a year ago with a multitude of indoor huts perfect for private small-party shenanigans. Just don’t let the LA Times know." - Eve Batey
"Former speakeasy-style Tenderloin bar Tradition has lurched back to life as Zombie Village, revamped by the Future Bars group. Spearheaded by Daniel “Doc” Parks, Zombie Village features a main thatched bar, a candlelit cave, and an upstairs loft named 'Doc’s Voodoo Lounge'. It pays homage to historic Tiki bars and offers a variety of cocktails, including the Coco Pandan." - Caleb Pershan
"Thatched roofs, skulls, and loads of rum cocktails have made their way to the Tenderloin: Zombie Village, the latest bar from the Future Bars group, is now open." - Janelle Bitker
