A fresh sushi and sake bar in the former Flo space, spotlighted by Resy’s Spring 2025 Hit List. Think uni shooters, generous sashimi platters, and approachable omakase in a street-level downtown setting.

I had my birthday dinner at THEKOI Sushi & Sake, and I really enjoyed it! The place was clean and cozy, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the food was very tasty. The atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant. Everything was great — thank you for a lovely evening!

So good we ate here two nights in a row! We had the Green dragon roll, Godzilla roll, Sumo roll, spicy ninja roll, crispy rice (avocado), sexy edamame, Gyoza, and Black cod. Everything was so fresh and absolutely delicious. Service was also great

I felt the quality did not match the price. I visited during the holiday and ordered bento boxes, but the fish did not taste fresh. The salmon roll was fine, but again, overpriced for the quality. The asian waitress recommended the ramen, so I tried it, but I did not find it authentic Japanese style—the broth was a bit too sweet for my taste. I was also surprised when the waitress commented that this was the ‘cheapest price’ in the restaurant, which felt dismissive. I had hoped to enjoy a good dining experience here based on the reputation, but overall, I do not feel the food was worth the price and likely will not return.

Date night on a Friday. Start off with miso and takoyaki and move into the Sashimi combo. Finish with a specialty roll/s. Everything was good. The space was very relaxing and service is good.

Modern and neat interior. Great food. Thinner (than others) and crispy tempura. Good sushi. Visited during happy hour when select menus are provided in cheaper prices.

Overall Rating: ★★★☆☆ Decide to go out for a late lunch at The Koi today was a bit of a rollercoaster with some clear highs and lows. Let's start with the best part: the toro. It was absolutely exceptional. The cut was beautiful, melted in your mouth, and was easily the highlight of the meal. If you're a sushi lover, this is a must-order. 5/5 Unfortunately, the ramen, was just average. The broth was decent but lacked the deep, complex flavor I was hoping for. The noodles were cooked well, but the overall dish didn't stand out compared to other ramen spots in the city. It was perfectly edible, but forgettable.3/5 The service from our server was okay—polite and attentive when they were at our table. However, the real issue was the kitchen speed ( Hot food) .The wait for our food was incredibly long. ( and there were only 1 table when I get in there ; and they are about finished up and ready to leave.) There was a significant gap between when we ordered and when our food arrived, which really slowed down the entire dining experience. Will I come back : yes, Come for the fantastic toro and maybe other sushi items, but if you want try the kitchen menu maybe be prepared for a slow kitchen. It has potential, but there are some kinks to work out.

Had an amazing experience at The Koi! The sushi was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented—the sashimi was melt-in-your-mouth good, and the poppers were an absolute delight. JC was a fantastic host and server, making us feel welcome and well taken care of. Chef Antonio clearly puts passion into his craft, and everything was top-notch. Big thanks to the whole team, including the staff member whose name we didn’t catch—you were great too! Can’t wait to come back.

Enjoy coming here. I usually order take out from them. I have never been disappointed with taste, quality and portion size. Dining in is wonderful too with excellent attentive staff.
