A fresh sushi and sake bar in the former Flo space, spotlighted by Resy’s Spring 2025 Hit List. Think uni shooters, generous sashimi platters, and approachable omakase in a street-level downtown setting.

Stopped by The Koi in Bellevue during restaurant week, and it turned out to be a pretty good experience with a few things worth calling out. The biggest headache was the parking situation. There was no clear instruction anywhere about whether free parking was available, and if it existed, it wasn’t obvious at all. Maybe I missed something, but that’s exactly why it stood out. There was nothing guided for first-time visitors. Once I got inside, the experience picked up quickly. The restaurant week special was an incredible value, easily one of the best deals I’ve seen in the Bellevue area. Portions were solid, the flavors were clean, and everything came out looking great. The atmosphere itself was modern, calm, and comfortable for both casual and slightly nicer dinners. Service was friendly but slow, especially with check-ins and small requests that took longer than expected. It didn’t ruin the visit, but it definitely added a bit of waiting throughout the meal. The food pacing stayed smooth, and everything arrived fresh. Overall, I left satisfied and impressed by the value, even though the service and parking clarity could use some tightening. Efficient: No First-Time Friendliness: No Would I Return: Yes JY review

What a lovely place to enjoy a sushi meal!! The ambience was elegant but relaxing. The service was phenomenal! Friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. There were some hiccups during the meal, but they made up for it in their service. The sushi was delicious…we got the Volcano Lobster Roll which was a presentation in itself. The fire was a real head-turner. Fun to watch and also eat! The sushi itself tasted fresh. Although the Beef Tongue was tough in texture, flavors were still there. I’ve never had an Uni Shooter and OMG was that ever so delicious and smooth!! I would definitely come back again to try more of their stuff!

This is a review specifically for Seattle Restaurant Week. My husband and I came here for the lunch special since it's such a good deal: appetizer, main (we got chirashi & bento box), and a dessert for $25. What a steal! Normally their bentos are over $30, and it's the same bento that you would normally get on the menu. Everything was amazing. Service was a little slow given the fact that they were not super busy, but I think the food definitely made up for it. For bento you get two choices of mains: chicken, tofu; salmon teriyaki. I ordered two salmon teriyaki with sauce on the side. I also like their salad dressing which tastes homemade. The green tea Tirimisu was also delicious. But on the sweet side. For price point, quality, and ambiance... great job Thekoi! Wish this three course set could be a regular menu item! I'd come here more often for sure!

English Review Example: “I went there for the second time, and the food was still amazing! The fish was really fresh and delicious. Everything was well-prepared, and the flavors were great. Definitely worth coming back again!”

I felt the quality did not match the price. I visited during the holiday and ordered bento boxes, but the fish did not taste fresh. The salmon roll was fine, but again, overpriced for the quality. The asian waitress recommended the ramen, so I tried it, but I did not find it authentic Japanese style—the broth was a bit too sweet for my taste. I was also surprised when the waitress commented that this was the ‘cheapest price’ in the restaurant, which felt dismissive. I had hoped to enjoy a good dining experience here based on the reputation, but overall, I do not feel the food was worth the price and likely will not return.

So good we ate here two nights in a row! We had the Green dragon roll, Godzilla roll, Sumo roll, spicy ninja roll, crispy rice (avocado), sexy edamame, Gyoza, and Black cod. Everything was so fresh and absolutely delicious. Service was also great

Food is fresh, service is good. I like the dragon roll, but the sprider roll is so so, won’t order that again. No waiting time around 4:30pm on Saturday.
