Decide to go out for a late lunch at The Koi today was a bit of a rollercoaster with some clear highs and lows.
Let's start with the best part: the toro. It was absolutely exceptional. The cut was beautiful, melted in your mouth, and was easily the highlight of the meal. If you're a sushi lover, this is a must-order. 5/5
Unfortunately, the ramen, was just average. The broth was decent but lacked the deep, complex flavor I was hoping for. The noodles were cooked well, but the overall dish didn't stand out compared to other ramen spots in the city. It was perfectly edible, but forgettable.3/5
The service from our server was okay—polite and attentive when they were at our table. However, the real issue was the kitchen speed ( Hot food) .The wait for our food was incredibly long. ( and there were only 1 table when I get in there ; and they are about finished up and ready to leave.) There was a significant gap between when we ordered and when our food arrived, which really slowed down the entire dining experience.
Will I come back : yes, Come for the fantastic toro and maybe other sushi items, but if you want try the kitchen menu maybe be prepared for a slow kitchen. It has potential, but there are some kinks to work out.
